Elephants and Ever-Afters [Dark Desires 5] (Siren Publishing Sensations) Page 31

She squirmed against his finger wanting more. He pulled it out and instead held his cock against her tight hole. Laura put her hands on the tops of her legs, opening them further apart and raising her buttocks as Toby began to push inside her. Slowly he inched his cock forward until it was seated inside her.

  She groaned, “I love it.”

Murmuring as her arse filled with his cock, Laura heard Tobias switch on the rabbit vibrator to hold it against her pussy, she sighed in delight as he slowly pushed it forward. Now she had both holes filled and Tobias began rocking back and forth, his cock thrusting in and out in time with the rabbit.

With each forward thrust the ears of the rabbit would tickle and tease her clit and Laura closed her eyes again to enjoy the sensation. Tobias took hold of her good leg, so she lifted her hand to pull at her nipples.

“Fuck me harder, Toby! Fuck me!”

“God, Laura, I love how tight your arse is. I love fucking it.”

  “More.”

He thrust in harder, his balls slapping against her skin. Laura felt a climax start, the vibrator was deep inside her and the rabbit was now continually massaging her clit. She gave a scream as her orgasm rolled across her, it always seemed harder, more intense when he fucked her and used the rabbit at the same time.

Tobias didn’t stop. He kept up his assault on her arse, kept the vibrator inside her and Laura had no chance to regain her breath. Instead, he pounded her harder and harder. She was tossing her head from side to side as another climax built up.

  “Come, Toby!”

She screamed as her own swept across her. She felt the muscles grip hard on the vibrator and on his cock as Tobias thrust forward hard and held his cock deep. As she watched he opened his mouth in a silent scream and closed his eyes. Somehow, he managed to pull out and remove the vibrator before collapsing on the bed beside her.

Laura let her legs hang over the bed as Tobias twisted her around and took her into his arms. Her head on his chest, she could hear his heart pounding as loud as her own as they both tried to breathe normally.

“Thank you Toby. Now I know I’m truly alive,” she murmured thankfully.

When he’d recovered enough he stood and picked her up, carrying her into their bathroom. He ran a bath and settled her in the tub before climbing in behind her and pulled her up against his chest.

She felt his breath on her ear as he whispered, “I adore you, my dearest.”

  Chapter Thirty-Four

When Laura felt she was well enough to look for a wedding gown, she rang Melanie and then Rachel. She’d never really had any close girlfriends, as a school-aged girl her adopted mother had dissuaded her from bringing school friends home and gradually those friends found others. When she started working she met Colin, then after that fiasco she moved back with her mother for a few years.

After she bought her flat she seemed to spend most of her time working, she did go out on work functions and had a few people she considered friends but since she’d moved up to Kurmond, their contact had fizzled out. Now she found in Rachel someone she could relate to. The fact that Rachel and Julian were now a couple did help, they often went out as a foursome.

She and Rachel had started having lunch together once a week a few months before her accident, and both really enjoyed each other’s company. She’d already asked her to be her maid of honour. With Melanie, it was a different type of comradery. There was seventeen years between them but they still shared an easy friendship.

Tobias still worked from home, only going into the office when essential. Julian had set up an office in his home as well, taking a leaf from Tobias’s book and now spending more time working from home than in the complex.

Tobias and Julian sat down one afternoon and discussed the future of their business. Both had decided to scale back their work load over the next year intending to retire fully by the end of it. They had both selected their successors and Tobias thought the business would be in excellent hands. Tobias successor, a lovely woman named Jeannie Morgan in her mid-forties, was now a frequent visitor to the house as she shouldered more and more responsibility. Tobias, Julian, Alice and the two successors came together once a week to discuss work issues.

Laura hadn’t driven since the accident. Tobias wanted to order a new car for her but she asked him to hold off until after the honeymoon. She still had the occasional twinge of pain and her leg still gave her trouble. Part of her realised she was a little afraid of driving, but she was determined once back from the Antarctic she would get behind the wheel.

After ringing the two women, Laura arranged for a car to take the three of them into Parramatta where there were a number of bridal salons. Saturday morning, they headed off and Laura had her fingers crossed she’d be able to find something this close to the wedding. It was too late to have something made, she had intended to do just that but the accident had put paid to those plans.

They didn’t have much luck, although they did find a stunning dress for Rachel to wear. It was a purple asymmetric chiffon A-line dress with a sweetheart neckline. She looked fantastic in it and being short in the front, but dipping to her ankles in the back, the chiffon floated around her legs.

When they drove to the third shop Laura could feel the pain from her leg and a certain amount of tenderness around her stomach. Rachel noticed her limping and suggested they have coffee and relax before continuing.

“To be honest if I stop now I won’t want to get up. I rang this place through the week and the lady told me they had some designer gowns in my size, so let’s just look in here and see what happens.”

Laura got the impression the woman who greeted them at the door had seen them alight from the hire car and thought ‘money’. She ushered them into the salon, insisting on serving them coffee and sweet petit fours while they discussed dresses.

“I have four dresses in your size that I feel you would like. Shall we try them on?”

Laura agreed and followed the woman from the salon, into a large changing room. While the woman got the four gowns in question Laura stripped down to her underwear and sank thankfully onto a chair. When the manager returned, she helped Laura into the first dress.

When Laura looked in the mirror, she shook her head immediately. The dress made her look enormous, it was layer after layer of tulle and she felt like there was just too much dress. The second was nice but not her ideal. She showed it to her two friends and could see by their reaction they felt the same. The third dress was more to her style, a sheath style with a V neckline and empire waist. Her friends gave it the thumbs ups as she did a few twirls in front of them.

After agreeing to try the fourth dress, Laura thought she would buy the third. That was until the fourth dress settled around her. This was it, this was the gown for her. Even the manager was beaming at her.

The dress was an A-line with an empire waist. It had one wide shoulder strap, adorned with sparkling Swarovski crystals. The flowing organza skirt had soft ripples and fell to a long cathedral train. Laura had put her hair up this morning and now the woman slid a comb of wired sprigs of multi-sized crystals into her hair then a long plain cathedral veil.

Laura stood staring at herself in the full-length mirror for a few minutes. It stunned her that the woman looking back was her. Finally, she gathered up the beautiful skirt and followed the woman back into the main salon.

  Silence greeted her.

She turned back to her friends and was startled to see Melanie trying to hold back her tears.

  “Oh, Laura!” Rachel softly cried.

“Laura, it’s beautiful, you’re beautiful,” Melanie said earnestly.

Laura turned back to look at herself again. Yes, this was it, this was the perfect dress. Finally, she went back into the changing room and redressed with the manager’s help.

“I love this and I want the veil and comb as well.”

“It does look stunning on you. When is your wedding?”

  “December nineteenth.”
>
“Oh, that’s less than four weeks! You’re very lucky you were able to find something this late.”

Laura appreciated the fact that the woman had not mentioned her scarring, it was still red and angry looking and so obvious on her body. Laura smiled at the woman.

“I had intended to get something earlier but was in an accident. I only got my stitches out a few weeks ago.”

“Oh dear, I hope it wasn’t too serious.”

  Laura shrugged.

“I’m okay. A tree fell on my car during a storm.”

  “Oh! Was that near Richmond?”

  “Yes.”

“I saw that on the news. Oh, my goodness, that was you?”

  “Yep, that was me.”

“Well, I’m amazed you survived, it was horrific.”

“Thank you,” Laura answered with a fake smile.

At times she found talking about the accident too emotional to deal with, knowing she had died was traumatic. She surreptitiously brushed away a tear, trying to look calm and collected. The woman gathered up the dress then the veil and left the room, leaving Laura to compose herself before returning to her friends.

  “You looked amazing in that!”

“I know, I can’t believe I found something so perfect.”

“Dad’s going to blow his mind when he sees you.”

“Laura, that dress is stunning, no other word for it,” Rachel said enviously. “I hope when my time comes I can find one as wonderful.”

Laura and Melanie looked at her quickly.

“Is there something you’re not telling us?” Laura asked her.

“Oh hell,” she whined. “I’m not supposed to say anything until after your wedding. Jules wants to make sure it’s all about you and Toby.”

“No way, girl! You spill the beans this minute or else you can wear that purple gown as a guest,” Laura playfully threatened her friend.

“He asked me last weekend and I said yes!” Rachel’s happiness was so evident in both her voice and face.

Laura hugged her friend, then Melanie kissed her cheek.

Rachel looked a little shaken, then said quickly, “You can’t let on. He’d kill me if he knew I’d told you.”

“Of course we won’t say anything. Oh, Rachel I’m so happy. I love Jules, he’s the reason I met with Toby.”

The three women wiped away their tears as the manager came over.

“I’ve packed the dress, veil and comb into boxes. Is that your car in front of the shop?”

“Yes, can you have them taken out?”

  “Certainly.”

Laura handed over her card. Tobias had insisted she get a “black” card now she was a multimillionaire in her own right. She’d told him she had a platinum one with all its extras, but in the end he’d won. They’d argued over it but when she discovered he’d added her name to his personal bank account she caved in.

The concept of having twelve million of her own money had only recently sunk in fully. And she accepted her wealth. But now she had access to over two hundred million! It was mind-boggling.

She also discovered that, at the same time he altered his will to make her the beneficiary, he’d also put her name on the company records. To Laura it meant her worth was way too much to even comprehend.

The woman took the card with a glint in her eye.

“Would you ladies care for a glass of champagne?”

“I would prefer a sparkling Moscato, actually,” Laura said and was surprised by her audacity.

  “Most certainly. Ladies?”

Both asked for the same and within two minutes they were toasting each other.

The drive back to Kurmond was done in the plush excellence of the hire car. When they arrived back at her house around two, Tobias greeted them at the door. He took charge of the boxes after swearing to the women he wouldn’t peek. Both women had been dropped off by their partners who stayed with Conall and Tobias, along with the grandchildren—Avril and David. Tobias dismissed the driver with a healthy tip for ‘keeping his fiancée safe’.

Laura collapsed into a chair in the family room while the other two girls directed Tobias to make them a cool drink after greeting their partners. Conall greeted his granddaughter and Rachel after kissing Laura then helped Tobias and Julian in the kitchen. Adam and Gino turned up in the middle of the drink-mixing with their greyhound.

“We had nothing exciting to do so figured we’d all come and annoy you. Sally was missing her friends.”

Tobias just laughed and slapped Gino on the back as Sally raced out to find Cally and Stinky. He finished the drink-making and handed them out.

“Let’s take these outside and relax.” Tobias looked at the girls. “I’m guessing you didn’t have lunch, I’ve a barbecue all organised and ready to go once you got back.”

He helped Laura to her feet and frowned as she grimaced and limped out. When everyone had settled in chairs with their drinks, Tobias insisted on massaging Laura’s leg before cooking. The kids were fooling about in the pool with the three dogs while the adults relaxed. Darren offered to start cooking with Conall’s help while Tobias cared for Laura’s leg.

Finally, everyone was settled around the large outside table with food when Julian suddenly jumped to his feet.

“Rachel and I are getting married in April.”

A chorus of “what?”, “you are?”, and “yippee” greeted his announcement. Laura and Melanie both looked at Rachel who was looking absolutely stunned. She caught their gaze and shrugged, her hands raised, palms up imploring their understanding. Laura stifled a laugh as Tobias bounced to his feet and caught Julian in a bear hug.

“You realise what that means, don’t you?” Julian asked him.

Tobias shook his head and looked at the others, they all wore the same puzzled look.

  “No what?”

“We’ll all be related. I’ll be Adam’s brother-in-law and therefore Gino’s. Then that will mean I’m Laura’s brother-in-law, which makes me your brother-in-law, Toby.”

Tobias pretended to step back in horror, he turned to Rachel and begged.

“What! No Rachel, don’t do it! Don’t saddle this good for nothing on me.”

Julian grabbed Tobias, gave him a noisy sloppy kiss on the cheek then put his head on Tobias’s chest and looked up at him, eyelashes fluttering.

“Ah come on, bro, you love me, you always have.”

  Tobias shook his head, laughing.

“Okay, okay. You win. I do love you.”

Julian grinned and stepped aside. He went to Rachel, knelt and kissed her and begged forgiveness.

“My dearest, I know we were going to wait till after the wedding, but it just kind of popped out.”

  She ruffled his hair.

“It’s okay. I’m glad it’s out in the open now, it’s hard to keep secret.”

Julian pointed to Conall laughing in his seat.

“Don’t you laugh, pops. You will officially be my kind of ‘shirt-tail’ father-in-law along with Melanie and Darren, my sort of step cousin-kids thingy.”

“Hell, this is too confusing to even work out, Jules,” Adam said getting to his feet and giving his sister a hug.

  He shook hands with Julian.

  “Welcome to the family.”

Laura realised she now had more relations and was so excited. To have lived her life with no one to share it until she discovered she had a brother earlier this year.

Now she would soon have a husband, a father-in-law, a stepdaughter and son, plus step-grandchildren, as well as two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and the list just got longer and longer—she couldn’t have been happier.

  Epilogue

On the perfect summer December day, Laura became Tobias’s wife.

The tiny church was filled with guests who joined the celebration. Laura felt she were in a dream as she walked down the aisle toward Tobias on the arm of Gino. Never in her life could she have imagined marrying such a handsome man, and to be given
away by her brother was icing on the cake.

Afterward, they went to Loxley on Bellbird Hill just down the road from the church. It was situated on acreage, beautiful landscaped grounds with views down into the valley and far across the distance they could see the Sydney skyline. The reception room was breathtaking with timber-lined cathedral ceilings, elegant wrought iron light fittings, sandstone fireplace, timber floors and French doors, which open out to a wide, shady veranda.

The friends and relations dined on entrees of wild mushroom risotto with shaved truffles, or lamb tenderloin with eggplant puree. The mains were a choice of either seared salmon fillets, mustard glaze roast lamb, or grilled rib-eye steak served with sweet potato rosti, field porcini mushrooms and potato gratin. Laura loved the dessert choices of tiramisu, crème brûlée, Belgian chocolate tart, or lemon curd tart, and had to sample all four by stealing spoonfuls of Tobias’s, Gino’s, and Rachel’s.

When they returned to the bridal suite Tobias had booked, there was chilled champagne, strawberries and chocolates waiting for them on the four-poster bed. In the bathroom was a huge spa with candles all around.

“You are the most beautiful woman I know and in that gown! All I can say is wow. When you walked toward me I couldn’t believe how lucky I was.”

  “Thank you.”

Laura was sitting on Tobias’s knee on the edge of the bed. He’d poured them both a glass of champagne and they were quietly toasting each other.

“I hope I never wake up if this is a dream.”

“I know what you mean. In a way it’s been like it since the day I met you, Mrs. Duncan.”

“It’s all kind of surreal,” she said in wonder.

“Who would have thought when I opened the door that day it would lead to this—to me marrying the only woman in the world for me.”

Their amazing honeymoon cruise was all that Laura hoped for and more. She knew she would never forget any of it as they cruised among icebergs and along ice-choked waterways. The rugged mountains were an amazing back-drop to imposing glaciers and huge ice shelves.

Laura lost track of the animals they saw. Sperm whales, elephant seals, lots of dolphin, Humpback and Minke whales as well as Orca. Stately Emperor penguins, the largest species of penguin waddled across the scenery in the Ross Sea area. Laura couldn’t believe the different types of penguin they were able to spy—King, Adélie, Macaroni, Chinstrap, and Gentoo, as well as the huge Emperor. There seemed to be Chinstraps everywhere in one place they visited and their guide told them there were approximately five million breeding pairs across the Antarctic.
