In a funny way she missed L.A. There had been many good times, and now she was going back to direct Street People. Oliver had been forced to relinquish the rights in exchange for Neil’s other project—the film that Gina Germaine was supposed to star in. He had not been happy, especially when Gina backed out. He was left with an empty package. No director. No star.
Montana had shed no tears on his behalf.
She went out and personally raised the money to make Street People a go project again. And now she was in control. All the way.
She was proud of herself.

Pamela London and George Lancaster flew in from Palm Beach.
“I hate this tacky little village,” Pamela announced hoarsely to the waiting press.
“Come on, you big-mouthed cow,” George said amiably, shoving her toward their limousine. “Move your fat ass.”
Marital bliss survived—with the help of an insult or two.
Bibi Sutton wore a white brocade mink-trimmed gown which had set Adam back four thousand dollars, and made her look like the fairy on top of the Christmas tree.
She was lost without Wolfie. Poor, dear Wolfie, who had listened to her constant stream of gossip, escorted her to all the places Adam refused to go, and always, but always, picked out her clothes.

Maralee Gray attended the wedding with the new love of her life, an aging Jesus freak who wore flowing white robes and sandals and was hung like a prize-winning stallion.
She was ecstatic. What more could one ask out of life? Religion and sex.
How nice if he could have had money too. But, so what, she was getting used to paying the bills.

Elaine wore pink.
Ross wore white.
What a couple!
Buddy wore Armani. Of course. Angel wore maternity. What else?
Koko fussed around her, making sure that every hair was in place and that her makeup was perfect.
Buddy grinned. “Hey, Koko. You can’t make her look any better than she already does.”
Koko shook his curls. “I merely embellish the rose,” he said, kissing her. “Have a wonderful time, dreamheart. And don’t forget—I want to hear all about it. Call me when you get back.”
Angel nodded and smiled. “Thanks for coming over. Give Adrian a kiss from me.”
Downstairs Sadie waited in a sleek silver limousine. She exchanged hugs with Angel, kissed Buddy on the cheek, and once again he marveled at how great everything had turned out. Sadie had accepted Angel. No hassles. Nothing. The two of them got along wonderfully.
He leaned back in the car and closed his eyes for a minute. It had all worked out . . . the bad memories were behind him now. Even Wolfie had gotten his. No more nightmares.
Success. Angel. He felt so lucky. Halfway to Anaheim and the wedding, Angel clutched his arm. “Buddy,” she whispered. “I think it’s happening . . .
He didn’t panic. Stayed calm. Leaned forward and tapped the glass separating them from the driver. After all, he was a star now. Had to act the part.
“Get this wreck to the hospital like yesterday!” he yelled excitedly.
Sadie sat bolt upright and pressed toward Angel, taking her hand. “You’re going to be fine, darling. Don’t worry. We’ll be there in no time.”

Angel gave birth at four o’clock in the afternoon. It was not an easy delivery. The first baby was a breech birth, and for a moment it was touch and go.
Buddy, who was in the delivery room, picked up on the anxious vibrations as they struggled to get it to breathe. He felt fear grip him. Angel moaned as the second baby entered the world.
Twins.
Boys.
Just in time, the first one let out a healthy yell.
