“Most of my advice is common sense, practical knowledge, a rigorous understanding of the human mind, the human body.”

“But don’t you ever get stumped? Run across something you know nothing about?”

“Not really,” she said with a shrug. She wasn’t trying to be cocky or conceited, but it was true. She wasn’t giving advice on technical stuff, like how to put on a condom. People asked her questions about relationships, sexual health, the intricacies of the subconscious mind. With a fair amount of research, she could answer those questions.

“Most of the advice I give is based on the research of experts, the experiences of my friends, even my fans. I know you think I’m a fraud, but I don’t lie to my fans. I simply give them information that’s already out there. Over the years, they’ve just chosen to believe my advice comes from experience.”

“But it could come from experience— personal experience. I can’t imagine there aren’t men out there who wouldn’t kill to explore your fantasies with you,” he said softly.

She stilled at his words. There it was again. It had been there when they’d spoken on the phone, and now she knew she hadn’t imagined it, hadn’t read him wrong. The deep timbre of his voice, the piercing intensity of his emerald eyes. She cocked her head to the side, her soft hair falling over her shoulder, and she watched how his gaze followed the subtle movement, dipping to her left breast where her hair curled beneath the gentle swell. His gaze lingered there, and her body responded to the heated promise in his eyes, as her nipples pushed through the thin lace of her bra to pebble against her shirt. Desire darkened his eyes to a forest green, telling her he was just as affected by this invisible current that had pulsed between them earlier on the phone. It was attraction. It had been harder to pinpoint over the phone, but with him sitting across from her she knew, and his expression told her that he did, too.

She held his probing gaze, dragging in a deep, steady breath to calm her racing heart. Did she dare? He was a stranger, but maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing. Maybe he could indulge all of her wicked fantasies, and then some. When it was all over, they would simply walk away with no hard feelings, no bruised egos.

She hadn’t had sex in almost two years, and there was a young, virile, sinfully handsome man sitting right across from her who obviously wanted to change that, but did she dare? It seemed like a good idea in her head, but did she have the nerve to give voice to it?

She had a lot to lose—mostly her pride and self-respect—but then he’d already read her diary, so really, how much more could she lose with him? Not much.

“Mr. Bond, your questions today, they make me wonder about something, so I have to ask. Are you propositioning me?”

He leant forward, his eyes twinkling as he grinned. His voice was low when he spoke, but she heard every single word. “And what if I am?”
