One Snowy Week in Springhollow Page 28

by Lucy Knott

To my wonderful author family, thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for giving me a place where I feel like I fit, for your endless support and encouragement and for being a bunch of inspiring, talented, beautiful and positive humans.

To all those who have inspired me through movies, music, art and books, thank you for being guiding lights and for teaching me to never give up on my dreams. I’m grateful to all the superheroes that inspired this book, from Superman to Shazam, if we can dream it and have a little trust and faith, we can become it.

To my family, I try with every thank you section to sum up the love and gratitude I have for you but somehow words never seem to do how I feel justice. Thank you for everything. I love you all with every piece of me. Kelly and Jen, thank you for the laughs, the tears, the adventures, and the utter giddiness we shared that made 2019 so special and that made this book what it is. You are both amazing, obvi.

Nanna, thank you for loving me for all that I am, for believing in me and my dreams and for being the embodiment of love. I miss your smiling face more than I could ever express. I spent last year in a flurry of edits and excitement as my second and third book hit the shelves and then had the time of my life writing this fourth book. I told you all about it while I sat on your bed and scribbled down scenes in my notebook. You’d smile every time I said I needed to write and then you’d tell me “to write a good one.” You filled my heart with so much hope, made me feel like everything would always turn out ok and taught me to “be happy” even through the ups and downs. Nanna, this book fills me with so much joy, memories of a year that brought so much happiness, and ended with a lot of pain, but I truly hope you’d be proud. I love you always, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of you and Grandad, Nanna Knott and Grandad George too, you are always in my heart.

  Dear Reader,

Thank you so very much for picking up my fourth book and for giving it a chance. I wish I could give you a hug and tell you how much it means to me, but please know it means everything. Hearing that my stories have connected with you and that you can relate to, have felt inspired by, or simply enjoyed one of my books is the absolute best feeling, so I truly hope you enjoy Scarlett and Devon’s story as much as I enjoyed writing it. The two of them made my heart smile and bought a lot of love, laughter and joy into my life and I hope I can pass that on to you through these pages.

Remember, you are amazing and beautiful, and no dream is too farfetched or silly. You can do it. Live your passion.

  All my love, Lucy xx

  About the Author

LUCY KNOTT lives in Manchester England, just around the corner from her childhood home and less than five minutes from her twin sister Kelly and brother in law Chris. She loves spending time with her family in addition to writing, reading and cooking Italian food. When not buried in a book, scribbling in a notebook or having dance parties for one to Harry Styles in the kitchen, she works as a teaching assistant where the majority of her days are spent talking about dinosaurs and making Godzilla out of just about everything, from Blu Tac to cardboard boxes, and she loves every minute.

If she could up and move to the stunning Amalfi Coast, San Francisco or live in a cabin surrounded by fairy lights, she would, but for now she's quite content writing about those magical places. Lucy loves to write uplifting stories that she hopes will put a smile on your face, fill your heart with joy, encourage you to embrace the awesomeness that you are and believe that any dream is possible.
