“Come on.” I grab onto him arm and lead him toward the front door. I knock once and enter the house. “Hello?”
Grim pops his head around the corner, looking proud and terrified all at the same time. “Hey guys.”
“Congratulations!” I run up to him in excitement.
Bomber and Grim do the man hug with the pat on the back, and Bomber offers him some beers. “Thanks man.” Grim takes them.
“To celebrate your son.” Bomber nods and Grim looks thrilled. I’m guessing he hasn’t got a lot of gifts since the baby was born.
Grim then leads us from the hall, dropping off his beers in the kitchen and that’s when I see a woman who looks very similar to Lauren. Her black hair is shorter but there’s no denying the familiar features. She turns around, and smiles when she sees us.
“Hi.” She greets. “I’m making the drinks, would you like one?”
“Tea please.” I accept.
“This is Maisy, Lauren’s sister.” Grim introduces. “Maisy, this is my cousin Elise and her old man Bomber.”
We say our hellos, but then Bomber goes ahead and makes a fool of himself. “Is that your G Wagon outside?”
Maisy laughs. “Yes it is, my husband got it me for my birthday.”
My eyes widen. “Take notes.” I whisper over to Bomber and Maisy laughs.
“I don’t have a rock stars pay check.” Bomber sulks.
Grim pats Bomber on the back and we follow him to the living room. Drew is sat beside Lauren, smiling down at the baby swaddled in the blankets in her arms. I take in the picture of Lauren as a mother and then quietly approach her. I feel as though I should walk softly and be quiet, there is a new born baby here after all.
“Hey.” Lauren looks up to me, she looks really tired but so blissfully happy at the same time.
“How are you?” I ask her, taking the space on her other side and looking down at the adorable baby.
“Better now I’m home.” Lauren smiles. “Do you wanna hold him?”
I look to Drew. “Drew was here first.”
“I’ve already had my cuddle.” Drew grins.
“She handed him back as soon as he started to cry.” Laughs Lauren, and then holds the baby out to me.
I place the gift bags at Lauren’s feet. “These are for you and the baby.” And then I reach out to take him in my arms and the scent of him is the baby smell everyone raves about.
“Aunty Lissy wants a cuddle.” Lauren whispers to her son as she passes him over.
“Lauren he’s adorable.” I look down at wonder. “Has he got a name yet?”
She pauses from opening the bag. “We can’t agree on anything.”
“If Grim had his own way, his sons name would sound like an Avenger.” Drew mocks and we all laugh.
“Oh Elise, these are adorable.” Lauren gasps as she holds up the baby grows I got for her little boy. Then her face brightens when she sees the book I got her. It’s titled, My Early Years and it’s to fill with all the babys memories. Lauren looks to me with tears in her eyes. “Oh it’s perfect.”
“I’m glad you like it.” I look back down to the baby and place my finger near his tiny hands, he grips onto it and squeezes just a little and I swoon. The weird stir of emotion stirs again. I look up at Bomber to see he’s watching me and I quickly look back down.
“Did you meet Maisy?” Asks Lauren and I nod.
“She seems nice.”
“She’s better than that.” Lauren heavily sighs. “I’m just glad she’s forgiven me after everything I did to her.”
“She’s your sister.” Drew reminds her. “She will always be there.”
“Besides, you don’t seem like the girl who you describe from your past.” I add.
“She’s not.” Laughs Maisy from the doorway. “If she were I wouldn’t be here.”
Lauren nods and as regretful she seems as to what she put her sister through, she’s happy she has Maisy here. She has children of her own and I know Lauren appreciates everything she’s doing for her.
Bomber and I have our cuddles as Maci arrives with Tasha and Devlin. I hate having to let him go, but I can’t be selfish, Tasha wants her cuddles as much as everyone does.
“Suits you Tash.” Drew winks over at Tasha as Devlin looks down at the newest family member over Tasha’s shoulder.
Tasha laughs and Devlin looks a little terrified for a few seconds but as the baby begins to stir and wriggles his legs a little, making adorable new born noises, his face softens. All these men are such softies.
Laughter fills the house as the front door opens and I know it’s Baby right away. I automatically look over to Maci and see she’s preparing herself, putting on her armour to deal with Baby.
“Maci? We’re going to get going soon, do you want a lift back?” I think to ask her because as much as I know she will want to celebrate the birth of Lauren and Grim’s baby, she doesn’t really want to be here with Baby. Especially being so close to him.
“If that’s ok?” She asks, the relief obvious to see.
I nod and Tasha walks over to Maci, softly placing the baby in Maci’s arms so she can have her cuddle before she goes. Now Maci has an excuse not to look at Baby as he walks into the living room, but I see the look on Baby’s face and it’s full of desire. His eyes then divert straight to me and he pulls himself together. He knows I see right through him. Baby walks over to Lauren, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek as if she’s so delicate and congratulates her. He then approaches Maci, looking into her arms and kisses the baby.
“Hello nephew.” Baby whispers and I see the awkwardness on Maci’s face.
“Do you want to hold?” Maci asks him.
“No, he’s too fragile for these arms.” He laughs. “I’ll just take a look while he’s safe in yours.”
A look passes between the two and I have to look away. A look that intense has me feeling awkward from imposing on their private moment. Nobody else is paying them any attention, they’re all too busy talking amongst themselves.
Once it’s time for me to get back to the shop, I stand and say my goodbyes. Maci hands Lauren her son back and stands by Bomber and I, looking eager to leave.
“Get thinking of his name.” I point to Lauren as we leave and she laughs as she says goodbye and Grim walks us out and speaks with Bomber for a minutes before we leave.
“Thanks for taking me back.” Maci mumbles quietly.
“It’s fine.” I offer her a sympathetic smile.
“I find it hard to be around him.” She admits, frowning down at her hands.
“I know, you’ll be fine though. I’ve noticed Grinder likes your company.” I tease her.
Maci laughs, blushing slightly. “Yeah, he’s a cool guy.”
Bomber rejoins us and I wave goodbye to Grim as he enters the house. I cast a look at Maci as we sit in the car, she’s frowning as she looks out to the window. She looks so troubled and I just wish I could help her. Bomber grips onto my leg as he’s driving and shakes his head. He knows what I’m thinking and I know he doesn’t want me to meddle, but it’s hard to see my friend affected like this. Baby needs to get his act together.
Chapter Nineteen
Elise
Tonight is date night for Bomber and I, so Poppy and Lulu are looking after the shop this afternoon. I don’t want to totally take advantage of having staff now, so I’m working all morning and will continue when they arrive in the afternoon. I want to be able to go home and get ready for Bomber, and I don’t want to be doing that rushing around so I will give myself plenty of time. I might even have a bath instead of a shower, maybe even moisturise so I smell like a strawberry.
I love the girls working here, and not because they help me out so much but they bring so much life into the store. They enjoy working here and that’s obvious to me and the customers. Everyone smiles when they come here and to me, that’s amazing. The twins have so much energy, but not in the way that they run around everywhere like children, but in a way that
they work hard and don’t complain about it. They serve everyone with a smile and approach customers in the right way, cheerful and professional. I actually look forward to them starting their shifts.
When I returned to the shop after meeting Lauren’s baby, both Poppy and Lulu were so excited to see the photos I had taken of him. Even more so when I promised to take them to see him a couple of days after. I did ask Lauren if they could, so on Sunday when the boutique is closed I’m taking them to see the ‘Prince’ as they’re calling him and to be fair, the nickname they have created for him is spreading because Lauren and Grim haven’t agreed on his name yet.
“Ok, so are we all sorted?” I ask Poppy and Lulu when they have done seeing to the customers.
“All set.” Lulu smiles.
“So, Scrappy will be here in about an hour. He will stay in the back and help to close up.” I inform them, and Poppy begins to blush.
“Scrappy?” She asks, and with a cringe I nod. “He is so hot.”
I quickly forget her review of my brother and let them know if they need anything until then, they have my number. I know they’re capable of watching the shop alone, but it’s a Saturday night and they haven’t been alone this late since they started. So Scrappy offered to help security wise and help them with closing. Poppy is obviously over the moon because she’s now grinning like a fool, even her sister is looking at her a little funny.
“That’s fine Elise.” Lulu replies because her sister is too busy daydreaming. “Go and have a good night.”
“Yes.” Poppy winks.
Laughing to myself, I gather my things and go out to my car, saying my last goodbyes to the twins.
At home I run myself a bath, wondering where Bomber is taking me tonight. I soak in the bubbles, thinking how much my life has changed since Bomber came back. If I’m truly honest, I think I knew deep down that Bomber would charge into my heart again, but that was why I tried to stop him. I was terrified of losing Bomber all over again by letting him in and exposing my past. As I get out of the bath, I take a pause to look at myself in the mirror. Curiously, I drop my towel and observe, wondering what Bomber sees. My experiences in my life so far has changed me in more ways than one and I look at myself with apprehension. I still see myself as that girl, in the Devils compound. I still wear my internal scars and live through the nightmares. I just hope Bomber can continue to look past the girl I see.
As soon as I’m done drying my hair, my mother welcomes herself into my room.
“Don’t knock.” I mumble.
“Elise, how many times do I have to tell you?” She rolls her eyes. “I’m your mother, I don’t have to knock.”
“I’m getting ready.” I ignore her staring as I decide on what I should wear.
“Yes I know. You have a hot date with Bomber.” She just about sings with happiness.
Sensing that she’s not going to go anywhere, I begin my make-up and start to get really excited for my date with Bomber. I see him most of the time, but going on a date with the one you love is exciting. I get to dress up and show off as a couple, walk beside my man and give the women a smug look as Bomber is all mine and not available to touch by any others.
“You two are so good together.” My mother smiles as she sits on the end of my bed, watching me. “You will make me some gorgeous grand babies.”
“Mum.” I warn.
“Don’t wait too long.” She adds, ignoring my warning. “Scrappy won’t be giving me any grandchildren yet, I’ve warned him to be careful with them sluts. I don’t want a grandchild with a bunny as its mother.” She scowls.
“Mum, enough.” I put a stop to her bitching.
“Aren’t you wearing your hair up?” She comes to stand by me. “You look so pretty with it up.”
“No, I want it down.”
There’s a knock on the door, and my mother drops the subject, her smile widening to a full megawatt grin. I stand from my seat, finally finished but my mother is the one who beats me downstairs and presents me to Bomber as if I’m a drug to an addict. I know Bomber loves me, so her fussing isn’t needed, but Bomber laughs and I love to see his smile.
I quickly say goodbye to my mum, shutting the door behind me and jumping into Bomber’s arms. Now we’re alone, I can greet him how I want to and away from her eyes. Bomber groans as he squeezes me.
“You look fucking gorgeous darling.” He whispers and a thrill shoots through me. I want him. I want him badly. As he lets me go, I bite down on his ear and he chuckles. “I’m taking you out first, then we’ll play.”
“Spoil sport.” I step back and make my way over to his car. Part of me was worried that he would turn up on his bike and my dress and hair would be ruined, but it turns out he was smart.
We’re lead to our table, and Bomber places his hand on the bottom of my back. I feel so happy right now, in this moment with my man. I see the glances he gets from women as we pass their tables, but Bomber doesn’t because all his attention is on me.
“You look beautiful darling.” He smiles from across the table at me and I swoon. He still has that effect on me, and I know he will for the rest of my life.
“Thank you.” I blush.
Bomber laughs, his eyes completely capturing me. I know what he’s thinking and I hide myself behind my menu. I can still feel his eyes on me and when I take a peak, he’s still watching. Those dark eyes yearning for me and my body shivers in answer.
“You’re adorable.” He smirks.
“Stop.” I laugh, embarrassed by all his admirations.
“I can’t wait to get you alone.” He adds, just before the waiter approaches. We order our drinks and starters. As soon as the waiter is gone he continues his flirting. “You wanna sneak off into the toilets?”
“Bomber!” I laugh in shock.
“Too posh for the toilets?” He ponders. “How about the car?”
“If you don’t feed me, you won’t be getting anything.” I poke back and Bomber sits up straight.
“Where’s them damn starters?” Bombers grumbles and I can’t help but laugh.
The food quickly comes and it’s delicious. Bomber watches me the entire time. It’s a good job I’m not self-conscious about eating in front of him. He knows my eating habits far too well and I made sure I wasn’t too hungry coming here, because we all know how that goes down. People stare, probably sensing that the man I am in love with and sitting opposite me isn’t your regular male. No, he’s a member of The Kings of Rebellion MC and I’m damn proud of him. Women look over as they pass, their eyes full of lust but as always, Bomber doesn’t even give them any attention. I’m beginning to think some of them are so desperate enough to walk past with no other reason than to ogle him and get him to notice them! However, not all of them and it’s nice to see that there are some women that notice an attractive man is busy on a date with someone else and leave them to it. They’re my kind of people.
Bomber continues to talk dirty as we begin our mains but it’s not until we start the desserts that he becomes slightly agitated. Maybe he has worked himself up too much and as horny as I am, I think it’s slightly funny. I want to tease him, so as I lick the chocolate from my spoon, my foot slips from my stiletto and slowly moves between his legs. Bomber looks up to me as he feels me, slowly rubbing his cock through his jeans. I can feel how hard he is and my jaw clenches from restraint. Would it be so bad if I went to sit on Bomber’s lap so I could feel his erection closer?
“You fucking little tease.” He growls quietly and I can’t hold back my giggle.
It’s no surprise that when I decide I’m finished, he orders the bill and quickly pays. Bomber takes me by the hand, rushing through the restaurant and practically running to the car.
“Bomber I can go so fast in these shoes.” I complain.
“I can’t believe you were able to finish that dessert.” Bomber wonders as he takes his place in the car, after making sure I’m seated of course. He’s such a biker gentleman. “And teasing me like that
.” He says shaking his head.
I pretend that I’m shocked, with my eyes wide and my hand placed over my heart. “It’s as if you don’t know me at all.” I mock.
“Yeah, I forgot there for a second.” He laughs and as we drive home he asks the important question, “You wanna go home, or come to mine.” Looking very serious.
“I want to be with you.” I answer, goose bumps covering me. The atmosphere inside the car is electric and I can taste the sexual need. It pours from both of us.
With a single nod, we leave the restaurant car park and begin our drive back to the clubhouse but as we reach my parents, Bomber begins to slow down. He rolls the car to the bottom of the road and continues on to where we used to hang out as kids. My mouth drops open in surprise when I see that the swing has been fixed!
“Our swing!” I laugh, tears dripping down my cheeks. “When did you do this?”
I never go past this place anymore as when I leave my parents, everywhere I go is in the opposite direction. I have no clue as to when he arranged this.
“Yesterday.” A slight blush creeps onto his cheeks and he looks so cute.
We get out the car and approach our old tree. Memories from my childhood flash back in an instant and I didn’t think it was possible, but I feel closer to Bomber. These are our shared moments and in heartbreak, I trashed them but now Bomber is back in my life, he’s come here to fix what was broken. Like me, I was broken and Bomber helped put me back together.
At the bottom of the tree is the heart I carved out for him. I can remember when I did it as we sat together, I felt silly when he saw what I was doing but he didn’t laugh. Bomber just sat closer and helped finish it.
Bomber reaches out for the swing, holding me hand and pulling me closer.
“For old times’ sake?” He asks and with more excitement than I thought possible, I sit on the swing in my pretty dress and let Bomber push me. Every now and then he stops the swinging and pulls me closer to gently place a kiss on my shoulder and with each one they get more and more heated.
