by Katie Dowe

She came shortly after looking sexy in long black wool skirt, leather boots and white sweater with a fur cap over her hair. She had a package in her hand which she went into the kitchen to put before taking off her hat and coat. “I was not sure you ate so I brought food.”

“I went to my Mother,” he said automatically as he watched her go into the living room and remove her boots and leggings. “Look Gina, I don’t think–”

“I am not going anywhere, Paul, and I think you know that,” she reached out and pulled him down onto the sofa with her. He had started a fire as soon as he came in and the place was warm and cozy. She moved from her place on the sofa, and to his consternation she came and sat on his lap putting her hands around his neck. “I am falling in love with you.” She smiled as she felt the stiffening of his body. “Relax,” she whispered against his mouth. “It is going to be absolutely wonderful.”

“No,” his breathing was ragged as her breath stirred against his skin.

“Yes,” she ran her tongue on his bottom lip and his control broke! With a tortured groan, he pulled up her skirt and took off her panties reaching for her mound before dipping two fingers inside her! She arched her body and called out his name! He thrust into her forcefully before pushing her back on the sofa and fought to take off his clothes. She undressed quickly and he sat back down bringing her up and over him, guiding his erection into her. Gina sank down with a sigh of pleasure, and reaching for his lips she started moving! He held her hips steady and pounded into her not caring if he was hurting her! He was spinning out of control and he embraced it!

  Chapter 7

Gina woke up before him the day after Christmas and sat up looking down at him. His hair was tousled where she had run her fingers through them over and over again. He had not bothered to put any clothes on and neither had she. Inhibitions had flown through the window the first time he had made love to her and she had no qualms about being totally naked around him. She had never been a shy person and now that she had experienced the wonders of his lovemaking made it even worse. Conversation had been minimal for the entire night. They had used their bodies to speak. He had not eaten the food she had brought but that was fine; they had not been hungry for food anyway.

His body was taut and muscular and his arms powerful, she had felt the grip on her body. His skin was dark, almost swarthy looking and he had long black lashes almost like a girl’s! His face was relaxed and vulnerable in sleep. She had never seen him smile, only seen the look of intense passion on his handsome face when they were making love. She had her job cut out for her. She had taken a quick look around and had not seen any photos of his wife hanging from the walls, but that did not mean that they were not stored somewhere else. She knew they had lived at the manor with his mother and he had moved out when she died. Her heart quaked a little bit as she wondered if he would ever come to love her. She had no fear where the passion and desire was concerned. It was unbelievably powerful and out of this world! She did not want to replace his wife in his heart. She wanted something that was hers alone. She got off the bed quietly and reached for the black lace nightgown she had packed and not had the chance to put on last night, pulling it on over her head. She had told her dad that she would not be coming home last night and he had looked at her for a moment and nodded. Good old dad, never the one to ask questions!

She went into the kitchen and put away the things she had brought with her. It was a quarter past nine and it was a Saturday which meant that there was no work and was still in holiday mode. She had no idea what he usually did on a Saturday and had a feeling he was going to say that she should leave.

She put the coffee pot on and dug around the ultra-modern kitchen looking for something to prepare for breakfast. She decided on blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs and set about making the batter.

She was so intent on making the meal that she failed to see him standing in the doorway looking at her. He had got up and looked around for her and followed the scent of the coffee that brought him here. Her hair was tangled around her shoulders and the black see-through short lace nightgown revealed everything. She was not wearing panties and he could see the outline of her pubic area. She was different, he thought with his heart hammering inside his chest. Even preparing a meal, she had the ability to make him think of her in the most potent way. Linda had shied away from bringing attention to herself. Gina was the opposite. She looked up and saw him standing there looking as if he was not sure what she was doing in his kitchen. She put away the plates she had taken out and came over to him, putting her hands around his neck as if it was the most natural thing in the world to do! “I hope I did not wake you,” she whispered huskily as she went on her toes to nibble at his bottom lip, sending the shards of desire shooting through his body!

“No,” he was shivering and without thinking he put his hands around her waist and brought her closer to him, taking her lips with his and deepening the kiss. They clung to each other and everything else was forgotten except what they were feeling. She was the one who broke away. “Breakfast is getting cold,” she pushed her fingers through his hair and stepped back, her body trembling. “We don’t want to wear each other out.” She took his hand and led him to the counter. “I am not sure how you take your coffee?”

“Black,” he said hoarsely still trying to get his body under control. He was stiff and aching!

She poured the coffee and passed it to him and turned to ladle out the pancakes and eggs, passing the plate to him before sitting with hers. “I cook for my dad sometimes so I have become quite an expert.” She took up the maple syrup and poured it over his pancakes.

“Are you leaving after?” his slate grey eyes met hers.

“Are you trying to tell me in not so many words that you want me to leave?” Gina asked him in amusement as she dug into her meal.

“I have work to do–” he began.

“Not today. Your office is closed for the holidays until the second of January, I looked it up.” She added seeing the look of surprise on his face. “I have no intention of leaving you here by yourself to go and bury yourself in work. I was thinking that we could go for a drive up to the ice skating rink or we could take in a movie on that big old flat screen television you have in the living room.”

He pushed away the plate and got to his feet, his expression ominous. “Do you think you can come into my life and take it over?”

“No,” she told him mildly not giving any indication that she was feeling any fear or insecurities at his question. “I just want to spend some time with you and I know you want that too.”

“You don’t know what I want!” he bit off. “I am still in–” he stopped abruptly and she looked up at him.

“You are still in love with Linda?” his eyes flared as he looked at her. “Yes, Paul, I can actually call her name. I know you lost your wife tragically and I am sorry for that loss. I lost my mother to breast cancer as well and I know what that can do to a person. I am not going to tell you it is time to stop mourning because my dad still mourns for my mother and I still miss her. I have fallen in love with you, and as much as I despair competing with a dead woman the point is I am in love with you and I am not going to allow you to close yourself off from me. So deal with it!” with that she pushed away from the counter and left the room with him standing there looking after her.

Adrenalin carried her into the blue and grey bathroom and have her going into the large shower install to take a shower. She felt the anger coursing through her body and kept telling herself that she had no right to be angry. He was entitled to mourn and he had never asked her to fall in love with him! But God! It was frustrating! She scooped the wet hair out of her face when she heard the door sliding back and quivered as he came in behind her, his magnificent body gorgeously naked. Without a word, he took the sponge and squeezing some scented body wash onto it he ran it over her skin.

She turned to face him and their eyes met. Then with a groan, he pushed her back against t
he tiles and started kissing her with a hunger that stole her breath away!

“What are you thinking?” Bradley Wellington asked his wife as he came up behind her wrapping his arms around her slim waist. They were standing at the window of their bedroom and looking out at the snow-covered grounds. Everything was so white and clean that it looked like paradise. The children were all tucked in for the night and they were getting ready for bed.

She leaned back against him and sighed. “About how good I have it.” She closed her hands over his. “My love for you has never waned even for one moment even when I am annoyed with you.” She twisted her head and looked up at him, her brown eyes meeting his green ones. Over the years, his blonde hair had gathered a touch of grey which made him look distinguished. He bent and kissed the tip of her nose.

“Glad to know.” He said with a smile.

“Gina has become very important to me and I have never met another woman that I have become so close with in such a short space of time. She reminds me of myself, darling.”

“There is no one like you baby,” her husband teased her.

“She comes the closest.” She turned in his arms and put her hands around his neck. “She is in love with Paul Brady.”

He looked at her sharply. “Isn’t she fighting a losing battle?”

“You thought I was too and look at us now,” she told his softly.

“I was not in love with Cynthia,” he reminded her.

“He was not really in love with Linda, too. She was a docile woman who did not make any waves and no match for Paul.”

“Leesa,” his tone was warning as he looked down at her gauging her correctly.

“Don’t worry!” she said with a laugh. “I don’t have to lift a finger. “I have a feeling that Regina is capable of doing everything all by herself!”

Paul felt as if he was being carried away by a maelstrom! She was forceful and it was hard to ignore her. After the incident in the shower where he had spent so much time exploring her wet body that they had come out looking like prunes, they had eaten the breakfast that she had had to warm up and then they had gone into the living room where he had started a fire and they had curled up on the settee watching an old black and white movie with Betty Davis as the lead. She narrated much to his frustration, pointing out flaws and making her annoyance heard when the movie took a turn that she did not like. She talked too much and in between she would get up and go into the kitchen to get them something to eat. And she fed him the fruits almost automatically, licking the juice from his lip and starting a fire in the pit of his stomach. He had not known whether she would want him to be making love to her after the amount of time they had spent in the shower, but he was learning that she was not Linda, far from it. She was vivacious and full of life and knew exactly what she wanted. She brought out the fire inside him that had been straining to come out. They had fallen asleep right there in front of the fire place with the movie going on and had woken up in the late afternoon. She had gotten a call and when he would have moved for her to take it she had held onto him and kept him beneath her. “Hey, what’s up?” he had found himself feeling the jealousy at her soft tone.

“I am not at home. I will swing by tomorrow afternoon. Did you have fun?” she listened for a moment and then smiled. “Good see you tomorrow.”

“The boyfriend?” he had asked her casually.

“Jealous?” she had asked back with a twinkle in her eyes.

  “No.” he had lied.

“You don’ have anything to worry about, you are the only man I need.”

  “Gina–”

“Shh–” she had whispered resting her forehead on his, her breath stirring his desire. They were both naked, having divested their clothes sometime during the evening. “Make love to me.”

“You are going to get tired of me.” He said abruptly even though his body was aching for her.

She had looked down at him in surprise. “I could never get tired of you,” she told him softly, her hands framing his face. “I love you, darling, and the way you make me feel is something I am going to treasure as long as I live.”

He had been speechless as he stared at her and she had reached between them to put him inside her.

Now alone in his apartment after he had taken her home, he roamed the place restlessly. He was confused and fearful. He had married Linda in a rush of childish affection, a first blush of love and they had fumbled through together. She had told him the night when he had taken her virginity that she was frigid and did not much like sex, but he had brushed it away. He always knew he was highly sexed because before he had started going out with her in high school he had been with head cheerleader Brianna Love and another girl who had told him that monogamy was too overrated and she preferred to explore all her options. He had been bewildered when Linda did not want sex and would only tolerate him on top of her once for the week. In every other way, she had been devoted to him and in spite of his sexual frustrations he had been faithful to her because he had made vows. He remembered with a grimace one night he had come in from the office wired and tensed from a deal gone bad and had started kissing her with an urgency that had had her running scared. He had started forcing himself on her and had stopped in disgust and gotten off her. She had crawled into his arms later and begged him not to leave her or she would die.

Now with Gina he found that he had met someone who wanted it as much as he did, and not only that but she was not afraid to express her feelings! With a sigh, he wandered into the bedroom and picked up his shirt that she had put on, inhaling her scent and closing her eyes. He missed her so much!

“Dad, you are home!” Gina greeted her father with a kiss on the cheek and a tight hug. He was in the kitchen drinking coffee when she walked in. Paul had dropped her off at close to seven in the afternoon. “Have you eaten?”

“Some leftovers from Christmas.” He looked at her animated expression. “So when am I going to meet him?”

Gina planted a quick kiss on the top of his head and went to pour herself a cup of coffee bringing it back to the counter and sitting next to him. “When I can convince him that he is in love with me.”

Her father looked at the lovely woman beside him puzzled. “You have to convince him? Is he blind?”

Gina laughed and clasped his arm affectionately. “I love you for that, Daddy.” He smiled at the name she used to call him when she was a little girl. “It’s Paul Brady and you know the story there.”

Richard Phillips looked at his daughter quizzically. “Honey, that’s a mighty tall mountain to climb.”

“I am persevering and I have my climbing shoes on,” she told him wryly. “He is halfway there and he does not know it or maybe he does. I did not set out to fall in love with him; it happened and if I knew he was all brokenhearted about his wife, then maybe I would back off but we are intense together, not lukewarm like some relationships I have seen, and I am not giving up on him.”

“You are your mother’s daughter,” he said with a shake of his head. “She would stick to a task no matter how daunting, always thinking that there has to be a way.”

“There you go.” She said with a laugh. “He is trying his best to resist but I am not letting him.”

“I don’t want to see you hurt,” he said gruffly touching her smooth cheek lightly.

  “Neither do I.”

“Let’s do our breathing first,” Gina told the women as she put on some relaxing music. It was the second of January and the rec center had just opened its doors that morning after the holidays. Her classes were getting fuller and she now had to decide about doing three classes for the day. Ever since the spa had been operational, business had picked up quite a bit. “For the newcomers, we are going to slow things down until they get into the groove. Okay, let’s begin.”

Gina went around and helped the new ones with the various routines, keeping an eye o
ut on the ones who were not managing well. She had made sure she got a full medical from their doctors to ensure that there were no surprises.

“Okay guys, let’s begin. We are going to do a couple of simple stretches to get our bodies ready for what we are going to be doing next. Just follow as best as possible and don’t worry if you are not keeping up. It takes time to get there.”

She allowed them to do twenty rounds before stopping, realizing that they were faltering. “We are going to sit on our mats and assume the relaxing position. Breathe in and out slowly and allow your body to recharge itself.”

She ended the class half an hour later and went to her corner of the room to gather her stuff. She had another class in an hour and she realized that she had not eaten anything but a dry toast and coffee this morning. She was just about to go and get something to eat in the lunch room when she saw him standing there. She had been so busy stuffing things into her gym bag that she had not heard when he came in. He looked delicious and wanton and sexy in dark blue business suit and light pink shirt. His hair was combed back from his face and he looked like the successful businessman he was. “Paul,” she breathed. She had not seen him for a couple of days as she had been busy with work for Milton and taking down the Christmas tree at home and going out with Leesa and the other women. And also she had wanted him to miss her.

“I was on my way to a meeting in town–” his voice tailed off as he came over to her. She did not move but allowed him to come all the way. “You are very good with them.” He stood right in front of her, the coldness from outside still clinging to his cashmere coat. “I was here for a few minutes.”

“Hi,” she touched him then. “Hi,” she said again leaning into him and reaching up to kiss his lips. His arm crushed her to him and he drank deeply, his body shuddering. He had missed her but had not known how to call her. He had been battling his own personal demons and had wanted to think, but he had missed her and ached for her.
