He filled her with one hard thrust, holding her thighs tight against his waist as he spread his wings high and wide. Cyndra quivered and tightened around him. He shuddered, hissed, and stroked again. “Say it, caster.”
“I want,” she groaned as he slipped out to his tip. Meeting his stone-cold gaze, she realized he felt the same dark arousal. He knew her better than anyone. “My gargoyle…”
He peered down at her, his chest expanding, wings twitching, clenching his jaw as he trembled and stroked in and out again. “Say it.”
“To fuck me.”
Zorin drove back into her body rough and quick, giving her every inch of him that she needed. She groaned and twisted, matching his pace, his need. Her gargoyle fueled the mounting pleasure by slipping his hands over her skin, teasing her body, igniting the desire deep into her soul.
Cyndra bucked, moaning as she reached for him. Instead of leaning down, he plucked her from the mattress, bringing her to his chest. She locked her ankles at the small of his back, threw her arms over his shoulders, and sank around him, stretching for him. “So good.”
“Yes, so fucking good, Cyndra.” Zorin pierced her from below, rapid and forceful, taking control of her waist and slamming her down as he rocketed upward. He created a bottomless craving in her body that unleashed her fire and energy. Cyndra trapped his mouth and clawed his skin, rolling her hips faster each time their bodies met.
More, she moaned.
Zorin’s pace doubled and his siphon increased. She fed him and he absorbed her, no restraints between them. Skin on skin, it was impossible to stop the flow of power or the need building inside.
Please, Zorin, she begged.
He spun and pressed her against the tree-like wall and captured both her wrists, plunged deep and hard until she tightened and quaked. Insatiable.
“Totally your fault,” she panted.
Zorin locked her wrists high against the wall while his free hand moved to her waist, never taking his eyes from her face, knowing his stare drove her wild.
You drive me wild, caster, with your heat and energy…Zorin retreated slowly. Your defiant fucking mouth. He grunted and slammed into her so hard, so deep, the pleasure swelled through her whole body.
Zorin!
“Yes,” he hissed, retreating to the edge again. “Irresistible.”
Cyndra arched and tilted her head, her body boiling as he teased her with controlled, deliberately slow strokes. And you feel so damn good inside of me, so perfect.
Is it everything you dreamed, caster, Zorin asked, pressing in again slowly, creating waves of delight through her flesh.
“Oh, yes,” she cried, staring in his eyes.
Zorin’s intense passion overloaded her senses. Cyndra vibrated from the inside. She convulsed and constricted, scorching beneath her skin, feeling all her control slip away again.
The next tremor, laced with fear, turned her gargoyle to stone.
“Cyndra?” He released her wrists and cupped her face with both hands. Panting, unable to answer him, she gasped when he peeled her off the wall and sat back on the mattress. “Is it too much?”
“I…” she tried, too breathless to continue.
“Caster…tell me,” Zorin said, stroking his thumb down her cheek.
“It’s so intense. I feel it so deep,” she whispered, embarrassing heat striking her core, tightening her body. Zorin grunted, but didn’t move, only tipped her chin. She looked away. “You were right, we don’t know what can happen. I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You won’t.” He smirked and dug his hands into her hair, inching her closer to his mouth, still breathing hard with need, throbbing inside her. Give me all the power you need to, Cyndra. Take all the pleasure you want.
Unconvinced he truly understood what he did to her, Cyndra stared, petrified by the powers still growing in her body unable to deny exactly what she wanted.
His caster looked at him with the same hunger and hesitation in her eyes that Zorin felt when he first siphoned her powers, kissed her lips, felt her heat around him.
“What if I…”
“Your flare can’t hurt me, Cyndra. This won’t either, I promise you.”
I’m scared. She brushed her fingertips over his mouth, adding more energy into their bond.
I’m not. I want it all, Cyndra. No more holding back, for either of us.
She kissed him, slow and tender, parting his lips with her tongue, delving into the kiss timidly. Cyndra quivered on the outside and pulsated on the inside, a sensation he never encountered as human. The blissful insanity she created needed to find its release and he wanted to make sure she’d always remember it.
“More,” he moaned against her mouth, kissing her harder when she gasped and letting her set the tempo, maintain control.
Cyndra went slowly at first, breathing gently against his mouth, staring into his eyes, touching his face intimately, picking up speed, and growing tighter quickly. Lost in the feel of her, slick, hot, and tight around him, rebuilding the pleasure minute by minute, Zorin let the elements move through their bond and siphon naturally with no interference. Even without her feeding him directly, the desire between them accelerated and expanded, spilling to every cell in his body.
Irresistible, breathtaking, and beautiful, his caster moaned, pushing him back to the mattress and palming his chest. She widened her straddle and took her fill of him. He hissed when their bodies met and she started bouncing quicker.
“Faster, Cyndra.” He rumbled, “Fuck me.”
“Zorin,” Cyndra squeaked, grinding her hips, speeding up as she grunted and flung her head back. Latching onto her waist, Zorin guided her back to his body, thrusting upward, elevating the euphoric sensations. Her left hand heated. Her right hand grew cool. Then her body tightened further.
“Yes,” he moaned, absorbing the elements from her fingertips.
Cyndra cried out and tilted toward him, sliding her hands higher, gyrating her hips rapidly, and encasing him in her fiery shell. When she whimpered and her elements dimmed, Zorin clasped her waist and thrust up. She gasped loudly and met his eyes.
Give me everything. You’re safe with me, caster, always.
Tears welled in her eyes as each element filled the appropriate side of her body. They shared a deep groan. Absorbing her fire and energy while she rode him faster and harder, transcended every prior experience. Pure, powerful, and full of more love than he deserved, Cyndra’s energy saturated his cells. He drove up harder, frantic to feel her quake above him. She constricted, leaned closer, shaking uncontrollably, and heading toward her peak.
“Yes, Cyndra,” Zorin grunted, lifting his back off the mattress, taking every drop of power flooding their unfathomable bond.
Her hands slid up his chest as her body slammed down. She clutched the back of his head, drenching him with power, her climax taking hold. Fear laced her voice. “Zorin?”
“Let go, just feel,” he murmured, repeating her words, slipping his hand up to cup her breast and tease her pert nipple.
Cyndra screamed and erupted, quaking and contracting, crushing her body onto his, instinctually, with a primal and greedy fervor he eagerly matched. The power inside of her, spilled into his chest as she pulsed and throbbed around him, tipping him toward the exquisite edge he didn’t yet want.
The explosion morphed into an implosion when Cyndra tensed and twitched wildly against him, making his heart race. The sharp jolts wracking her body eventually slowed, giving them both a chance to breathe.
When she mewled against his ear and convulsed, her elements dimmed naturally and her body wilted. Zorin rolled her to her back. She moaned and locked her limbs around him, riding an aftershock of her climax.
He brushed the hair from her face. “Cyndra.”
“You still feel like a dream,” she said, smiling as she opened her eyes.
“I assure you, caster, I’m not.”
“You didn’t—”
He grinned. “No, not yet.”
Cyndra touched his chin tenderly. “You are extraordinary, Zorin. I know you hate—”
“With you, I can live as I am and be happy,” Zorin confessed, gazing into her eyes. “Knowing my gargoyle form arouses you this much is enough of an incentive.”
Cyndra smiled as tears filled her eyes again. “Do you mean that?”
He puffed his wings up. Her pulse kicked, cheeks flushed, and body tightened around him. “Every word.”
Cheater, she projected and groaned.
Zorin needed her to come again, needed to show her exactly how he felt about her, how grateful he was of her acceptance, and leaned close to kiss her. This time they moved slower, taking pleasure in the softer touches and caresses, a tender discovery of each other. Cyndra clung to his body, every so often stroking her hand along the top of his wing, which seemed to arouse them both even more.
Feels so good, Zorin. Cyndra pulled him to her and kissed him, shaking again, primed for another climax. He buried his face against her neck, enjoying the natural heat from her body and the erotic bubbling of her pleasure, enraptured by his caster.
“Cyndra,” he grunted, feeling her implosion begin.
I’m almost there, she sighed, trembling beneath him.
Yearning to come with her, Zorin seized her mouth, gripped her body, his next stroke setting them both free. Cyndra groaned against his lips as every inch of her tightened around him, spreading pure elation over his skin. Sheathed by his caster, Zorin enjoyed every second of her climax, rumbling gently against her ear to make her tighter near the end.
Magnificent, she sighed through his mind as she caressed his back and stroked his wing. He twitched inside her and lifted his head. I…
One more truth, Cyndra?
“Probably more than one, I’m sure,” she said, tired yet satisfied, that much showed in her eyes. “I didn’t know if you were ready, if…I was ready. I’m still—”
“Mergan asked me, twice, the first time I didn’t answer her because I wasn’t sure. The second time, the answer was clear. Yes, I do.”
“I meant telling—” Cyndra crinkled her brow. “You do what?”
“Love you.”
“You…” She stared into his eyes, as hers became teary. “You love me?”
“I am undeniably in love you with you, Cyndra Raine.” Zorin stroked the back of his hand down her cheek to catch a tear. “You are everything I need to survive. I know where I belong, with you.”
“I…I’ve never been loved like this, Zorin. I didn’t know I could need someone so much. But I do.” His heart stopped. Cyndra traced his lips with her finger, no energy needed to stir his desire for her. “I…”
“Please say it, Cyndra.” Zorin smiled, wiping another tear way.
She smiled back. “I love you too.”
Chapter 35
For the second time in her life, Cyndra woke up nude, with half a gargoyle wing covering her back. If she knew a genie, like the ones from her fantasy books, she wouldn’t wish for a dragon anymore, instead, her first wish would be to make sure she woke up this way every single day for the rest of her life. The second would whisk them away to the mountains, somewhere safe, green, and free. She’d set the genie free with number three like she hoped most people would.
Not willing to wake Zorin up, she turned her head the opposite way to see him flat on his stomach, like she was, with an arm tucked under his head since she’d taken the only pillow. As his powerful body lifted and lowered with each deep breath, Cyndra’s skin grew hot. One look was all it took.
His eyelids slowly parted and his mouth lifted. Good morning.
Same to you, she replied, reaching out to stroke his face.
Zorin leaned closer to kiss her, shifting his body just enough to rub his erection against her thigh and slip his hand up her backside. When she gasped against his lips and caught his smile, she inched back and rubbed her thumb over his chin, bringing her fire to the surface needing to keep that happiness on his face.
“One more time before we go?” Cyndra rolled onto her back, bringing him along, always ready to feel him inside of her.
Zorin set a fast, steady pace sending her toward a quick peak. Cyndra needed this to last; she knew what awaited them when they left the treehouse. All those angry casters wanted someone to blame. She and Zorin were the best targets. Noticing her emotional shift, he paused and stared down, his mouth dipping as he leaned closer. What is it?
She cupped his face in her hands and arched into him. Go slow…
He watched her eyes and heeded her request, gently rocking her body with long, leisurely strokes then kissed her as if they were stuck in the mirror-realm, stopping time, sharing one heartbeat, and one breath.
Cyndra broke from his mouth and buried her face against his neck, clinging to his body as hers tightened, ready to explode. She sniffled. I love you. So much, Zorin.
He went still. Cyndra?
She tilted her head, meshed her lips to his, and rocked her hips. Please don’t stop.
Zorin kissed her harder, retreating and returning to her body until she shuddered again. A few more strokes and Cyndra burst in his arms, drawing a sharp, quick climax from Zorin.
She locked her arms around his neck, trying to hold in the fear. Her bond with him, however, made it impossible for her to hide while they were so intimately connected.
“What’s wrong, caster?” Zorin squeezed her, slowly retracting.
This time, panic replaced the tears. Her breathing hitched for all the wrong reasons. Cyndra’s vision turned fuzzy. The weight on her chest grew heavier despite Zorin pulling away. Then she was sitting upright, a pair of strong cool hands on her arms.
Cyndra, focus, her gargoyle called, cushioning her in his calming energy. It seemed like years since she felt him this way.
Zorin…
Look at me, love.
She shook her head, panting. They want to take you away from me.
“That will never happen,” Zorin barked, despite the calming energy he fed her. He pulled her against his chest, easing her fears, and shielding her in his arms. “Never.”
You’re my home, Zorin. I won’t let you go. Cyndra breathed, easing the panic just feeling his tight hold.
He stroked the side of her face and tilted her chin. “No matter the sacrifice, we will be together. I promise you.”
Before she responded, the back of her head tingled.
Cyndra? Zorin? Jack projected faintly.
We’re here, Jack, Zorin answered for them both.
Cyndra didn’t hear a reply, but saw his eyes widen slightly. “What?”
“The casters and siphons know about your barrier,” Zorin replied. “They’re ready to talk.”
“Good,” she said, slowly breaking from his arms and searching the bed for her T-shirt. “Shit.”
“I will take you to the lighthouse to change,” he replied.
“Thanks.” Cyndra scooted to the edge and tossed the shirt over her head. Zorin, already on his feet and stretching behind her, yawned and grunted. She didn’t dare look back, knowing he was still nude and hard. Taking a deep breath, she got up, tugged the T-shirt down, and walked through the open floor-plan treehouse, bypassing a sitting area and kitchen tucked off to the side and paused at the end of the overhang sheltering part of the balcony.
Feeling Zorin’s hard stare warmed her belly enough to ignite a bit of her fire. She knew he was close when his energy swirled next. He rested his hand on her shoulder. “Are you ready to go?”
Cyndra nodded. Unprepared for him to scoop her up in his arms, she yelped then chuckled as her cheeks flushed when meeting his eyes. “Little warning next time?”
“There’s no fun in that, caster,” Zorin said, laughing as he jumped onto the railing then dove into the woods, expertly guiding his body through branches and tree trunks, finding a hole to exit. As he rose higher, over the treetops, Cyndra sensed the growing casterpower below. She shuddered. Zorin’s arms tightened. “What?”
“Can’t you feel them? The casters?”
“No. Only you,” he replied, smiling at her sideways as he glided over the last of the trees surrounding the mansion. About fifty casters and a couple dozen siphons stood on opposite sides of the lighthouse with a few people standing in the middle of them.
“I’m going to change and get my crystal. You need to get the box from under the guns in the storage room,” Cyndra said softly, pulling her gaze away from the ground. She met Zorin’s concerned stare. “Wait for me. We’ll go out together.”
“You should do this alone, Cyndra.”
“No fucking way.” Cyndra shook her head.
Zorin tightened his lips and gazed forward, landing on the widow’s walk a few moments later. She didn’t let go until he looked down.
“They’re going to know everything you did to save them even if I have to force them to listen.”
“Do not challenge them…you don’t know what they are capable of unearthing or restarting.”
Cyndra unlocked her arms. Zorin set her down on the walkway. “Either Rune’s right or you and I are. I hope we’re wrong. There’s only one way to find out.”
“I will meet you downstairs,” he said with a nod and turned toward the lighthouse doorway.
“Zorin…”
He glanced back, his face blank of emotions.
“No matter what, we stay together.”
He nodded. “No matter what.”
Once he disappeared into the lighthouse, Cyndra glanced down to see a few people staring up, remembering she had only a shirt on and dashed to the service room to look through her pile of clothes. She noticed the mattress off to the side but ignored it for now and pulled on her cycle pants, a sportsbra and a semi-clean T-shirt.
After she collected her crystal from the caster box in the kitchen, she ducked into the lavatory to wash up and get her deodorant, and sensed Rune and Jack’s power mixing with Zorin’s below.
Cyndra ran down the stairs, sighing at the sight of all three of them standing near the door, talking and signing. Since they did their survival hug earlier, she joined the group, smiling, keeping the mood light for who knew how long.
