Fighting For It

“I need you, husband,” I moaned as I laid my head against his pillows, arching my back.
Jackson couldn’t hold back as he began to pound into me, his lips moved down my neck and chest until he captured one of my nipples in between them. I gasped and tugged on his hair, my body absorbing every ounce of pleasure that was beginning to course through my veins. I bit down hard on my lip as I tried to stifle my moans. Jackson’s mouth moved to my other nipple and I cried out, Jackson quietly shushing me against my skin. I was so close already and I knew that there was no way that I would be able to hold on. My back arched further, pushing my breast into Jackson’s mouth more as my orgasm slammed into me so hard that everything went dark before my vision came back.
When I finally regained consciousness, at least what felt like it, I was sitting astride Jackson as he pounded into me from below. My energy came out of nowhere as I instinctively began to ride him, coming down to meet his every thrust that pushed me back up. Jackson sat up and kissed me deeply as I continued to bounce over his length. My hands tangled in his hair as I held his mouth against mine. Jackson’s hands ran over from my hips down to my ass as he cupped the cheeks and guided me to move faster.
“Jackson…shit…I’m going to come again,” I moaned breathlessly.
“Come on, baby, give it to me. Take me with you,” he grunted.
A few more hard thrusts were all it took for my world to begin to spin, my body to get hot, and my orgasm to crash into me so hard that I couldn’t help but scream out Jackson’s name. Jackson called out my name as he collapsed back onto the bed, taking me with him. My body quivered as it milked Jackson for every ounce of his release. Breathing heavily, my head rested against Jackson’s chest and I could hear his heart pounding. Was it possible for sex to be more intense when you were now married to the person? If so, then we just hit that moment. Jackson’s fingers trailed up and down my back slowly and I felt his lips press against the top of my head.
“I love you, Madeline Ryder,” he said softly.
“I love you too, Jackson Ryder,” I whispered and closed my eyes.
As I was beginning to fall asleep, I felt Jackson roll us over onto our sides. He held me close and we both finally gave into the exhaustion of an exciting day.
Chapter Seventeen
“I can’t believe the paparazzi weren’t happy enough with their pictures that they somehow got of our wedding and now they are following us around on our honeymoon,” I sighed as Jackson helped me down onto the jet ski to take my place behind him.
“I know, baby. I wish that they would just leave us alone too,” Jackson looked back at me as I gave him a quick kiss and secured my arms around his torso.
The roar of the jet ski cut off all other sounds and soon we were skating across the water. Jackson drove us to Isla Contoy, a small island just a short ride away from the main island that we were staying at. One where the paparazzi weren’t really allowed to follow us to. It was one of the last days that we had on our vacation before we were going to Jackson’s apartment in Florida that he had for spring training. We had spent the few days before our honeymoon moving some of my clothes and other belongings down there so that we could head straight there.
Our honeymoon was being spent on the Mexican island Isla Mujeres. It was a ferry boat ride away from Cancun and it was adults only. It seemed like a nice place to get away: beautiful beaches, hotels that were almost as equally beautiful, and it was perfect. Up until the paparazzi tracked us down. Our wedding had made front page news of all the online tabloids with their pictures. Somehow, paparazzi had gotten into our wedding or someone had taken pictures and sold them to the press. We had no idea until the next morning when we woke up and our closed to the press ceremony and reception were splattered all over the internet.
According to my parents, when they got home to Iowa it was front page news there as well. It didn’t help that everyone now knew that we were going to be spending our time together in Florida when Jackson was at spring training. The morning after our wedding, I had an anxiety attack with just how much coverage our day was getting. Jackson was the only one who was able to calm me down from it…and believe me everyone else in his father’s house had tried. The spotlight wasn’t something I was really prepared for. I married Jackson because of the man that he was, not because of his status as a famed baseball player and celebrity.
I almost wasn’t ready to go back to the reality of our lives. At least while we were here, I could take a break from my writing and didn’t have to worry about deadlines. Baseball season was looming over me because of just how much Jackson traveled. That was why today, when we got to Isla Contoy, I was going to have a talk with Jackson about our plans for once the season started. Spring training was easy, we would both be in Florida together and when he had home games, we would be together as well. But since I didn’t exactly have tied down roots for a job back in Minneapolis, the option to travel with him was a good one. It was our first year of marriage and I didn’t want to be forced away from my husband every other week.
We pulled up to the dock and Jackson helped me off. He climbed out next to me and secured the jet ski. With our towels around our necks, we made the short walk to the beach that was far more private than the one on the main island that we were staying on. Choosing two chairs to sit down on and opening the umbrella, we took our seats. After we sat down, the small distance between our chairs felt almost too far. I got up from my chair and sat sideways on Jackson’s lap. He chuckled and wrapped an arm around me as his other hand ran up and down my legs, his wedding band skimming over my skin.
“I’m so lucky that I to get you on my lap?” Jackson teased as he nuzzled his face into my neck.
“Yep, and I’m just as lucky to have you as my husband,” I grinned as his arm held me closer against him.
Jackson’s lips pressed against my neck and I let out a soft groan, “Jackson…I want to talk to you about something.”
“What’s wrong, Madeline?” He asked as he leaned back against his chair and looked at me.
“When your season starts…”
“We are goin’ to be apart a lot, I know,” he frowned before placing a soft kiss on my shoulder.
I bit my lip, “I want to travel with you…”
I heard Jackson gasp, “You do?”
“Is it really that surprising?”
“Just…you know…Josie never really wanted to go on the road with me…”
“Baby, Josie was a terrible wife to you and a terrible girlfriend before that. If I don’t travel with you, I will hardly ever see you. How am I supposed to be without my Jackson every other week?”
“It was difficult to be apart when we were datin’,” Jackson admitted softly.
“I couldn’t travel with you before because I had a job that kept me in town. Now, all I have to do is write and I am able to do that anywhere that you are. I want to travel with you and spend time together when you don’t have a game.” I put my hand on his cheek and rested my forehead against his.
“Damn, I love you, Madeline.”
“I love you too, Jackson. Now kiss me.”
Jackson’s hand fisted in my hair as he kissed me passionately. I smiled against his lips and wrapped my arms around his neck. Jackson abruptly stood up with me in his arms and the second that the cold water touched my skin, I squealed in surprise. His laughter was the last thing I heard before he launched me into the water. When I resurfaced, I wiped the water from my eyes and splashed Jackson. He had been very playful during our honeymoon, a side of him that I only got to see in the privacy of our home most days. He made a move to splash me but began to swim towards me instead. I was too slow to react, and he caught me around the waist, pulling my back against his front.
“It’s not nice to splash people, Mrs. Ryder,” Jackson growled playfully into my ear.
“It’s not nice to throw unsuspecting people into the water, Mr. Ryder,” I tried to wriggle free of his grasp.
“Maybe we
both need to be taught a lesson then,” Jackson whispered as he ground his hips against my ass and I could feel just how hard he was in his swim trunks.
“Maybe we do,” I confessed as I licked my lips.
I need to be taught lessons all day long…
The sound of the shower turning on dragged me out of the light sleep that I was trying to turn back into a heavy sleep. We had been living in Florida for a whole two days and today was the first day of Jackson’s spring training. That meant, it would be the first day in over a month where Jackson and I weren’t together twenty-four/seven. My heart ached to be away from him, but I knew he had to go. Sneaking out of bed, still completely naked from last night’s escapades, I crept into the bathroom as Jackson lathered up his hair behind the frosted glass. I opened the door and stepped inside, instantly wrapping my arms around Jackson’s waist and putting my cheek against his back.
“Someone was supposed to stay in bed,” Jackson chuckled before he turned around in my hold.
“And miss saying goodbye to you on your first day of spring training? I’d just go all day being sad that I wouldn’t have gotten a kiss from you.”
Jackson kissed my lips quickly and gently smacked my ass, “There, now back to bed.”
I shook my head, “There will be plenty of time to sleep after you leave. I don’t want to waste what time we do have.”
“Well in that case,” Jackson looked down at our naked bodies pressing together, “You could help me blow off a little steam before I go.”
I smiled and kissed his lips before kissing down his chest, “I’ll do anything for you.”
Jackson groaned and pushed me back against the cold, wet tile, “Just what I like to hear.”
He lifted my leg and brought it around his waist. Quickly filling me up, I moaned as I pulled his lips back down to mine. Sure, we didn’t exactly have time for the long, drawn out sex that we had been having every single day since we had gotten married. But that didn’t mean that the quick version of it was any less intense. I dug my nails into his back as the sounds of our wet skin slapping together filled the room. Jackson kissed down to my neck, grunting loudly with every hard thrust. I moaned and begged for more, my orgasm easily reaching its peak.
“Shit, god…right there, baby…make me come,” I begged as my fingernails scraped down his back.
“Fuck, you’re so tight,” Jackson grunted as he bit down on my neck, “Holy…I’m…comin’…”
And I was right there with him. My orgasm exploded in a world of beautiful lights and fireworks behind my eyelids as my mouth hung open wide. My legs went numb and I clutched onto Jackson as my anchor to keep me standing. I could feel his release shooting into me and how my body kept coaxing more out of him. Jackson sagged against me and I held onto him tightly, trying to get some much-needed air into my lungs.
“Hell…I don’t know what you do to me, Maddie…but keep doin’ it,” Jackson softly laughed as his forehead leaned against mine.
“I was just about to say the same to you,” I smiled only to groan when he pulled out of me.
We washed each other up and Jackson tucked me back into bed before heading out for training. My eyes closed as I clung to Jackson’s pillow, his scent wafting up and around me. Using my imagination, I pictured Jackson cuddled up in bed with me and I found it far easier to fall asleep than before.
The sound of my text message alert tone ringing woke me up from my nap. When I looked at the clock, I realized I had been out for hours and it was going on noon. Reaching over, I figured Jackson was texting me during a break for lunch, but it was from an unknown number and the contents made my hair stand up on the back of my neck.
Unknown: I finally found you, Maddie Girl.
There was only one person in the entire world who called me Maddie Girl. That person was my abusive ex-boyfriend, Tony. My heart started to pound in my chest as tears began to well in my eyes. There was no way that he could have found me. Yes, tabloids had posted that we moved to Florida for Jackson’s spring training, but they never found where our apartment was. My phone rang again, and I checked the latest message from the unknown number. It was a picture of Jackson’s team at the field.
Unknown: Or should I say, I found your husband?
No, no, no. This could not be happening. Jackson had never seen Tony, so he would never know if he was there. Fans were allowed at the complex that his team trained at. The fact that Tony was so fucking close to Jackson, I just couldn’t have that. I jumped out of bed, threw on the easiest outfit to get dressed in which was a sundress and flip flops, and grabbed my car keys. Bolting out the door, I drove to the field faster than I could have ever imagined. Once inside, I saw the team talking to and meeting fans during their lunch break but from what I could see, there was no Tony in sight. I ran up to where the team was and called out for Jackson. He grinned and came over to where I was, and I threw my arms around him.
“Woah, that is one over the top hello. Is everythin’ okay?” He chuckled as he hugged me back.
“J—Jack…” I stuttered, and I couldn’t keep the tears back anymore.
“My god, sweetheart, you look terrified. Come with me.” He led me away from the groups of people and tugged me back into a hug.
I buried my face into his chest and cried. I wasn’t crying just because I was scared anymore, I was also crying because Jackson was safe. If Tony would have done anything to him, it would have killed me.
“You want to tell me what’s goin’ on?” He asked softly.
“T—Tony…he texted me…” I sobbed.
I felt Jackson’s hold on me tighten a fraction, “What the fuck? How did he get your number?”
“I don’t know…”
“What did he say to you, Madeline? You wouldn’t be this upset if it was a simple hello.”
I looked up at Jackson and sniffled, “He said he finally found me. Then he sent me a picture of your team practicing and said he actually found you…”
“How do you know it was him?”
“No one else has ever called me Maddie Girl…”
“Oh, baby,” he kissed me and held onto me so tight that any other time I would have complained.
Jackson waved to someone and a security guard came over, “Madeline, you have to show this man a picture of Tony. Scott, the picture that she is goin’ to show you, that man is not allowed on the premises.”
“May I ask why, Jackson?”
“He physically hurt my Madeline a long time ago. I have a feelin’ that now he’s tryin’ to hurt her again. Or maybe even hurt me.”
Scott nodded, and I showed him the only picture that I had of Tony from way back when. It was several years old, but Tony was never one for changing his image. I forwarded him the picture after he asked, and he sent it to the rest of the security in the facility where Jackson and his team train. He took off and went to brief other members of his team.
“I’m so sorry that I got you dragged into this,” I apologized to Jackson.
“You have done nothin’ wrong, Mad. This is a guy who doesn’t want to give you up, but he has already lost you. It is my job to protect you. You are goin’ to stay here until I am done with practice. That way I know that you are safe. Do not answer those messages he sent you. We will figure out tonight how we want to deal with this,” Jackson ran a hand through my hair and I took a deep calming breath.
“I love you, Jackson. I was terrified that something was going to happen to you,” I gripped onto his jersey as if to tell myself that he was really there.
“I love you too, Madeline. I am safe…you are safe…I am goin’ to make sure that it stays that way.”
Jackson led me to a seating area that was right in his line of sight. The only time he had his back to me was when he was batting. Even then, he had one of his friends keep an eye on me for him. By the time his practice was finished, I hadn’t heard anything else from Tony. I was counting my blessings, knowing that he would probably message me again sometime soon. Jackson wa
lked me to where I parked my car and I drove him to where he parked his. We drove home separately, getting to our apartment at the same time. Parking in our assigned spots, we walked up to the door to let ourselves into the building.
We made a quick stop to grab our mail and walked up to our apartment. As we walked in the door, I sifted through the light load of mail that we had gotten. The second that I saw the handwriting on an envelope addressed to me, the mail fell out of my hands and I fell to my knees.
“Madeline, baby, what is it?” Jackson closed the door and knelt beside me.
“He sent me something…” I choked.
I opened the letter, nearly giving myself a papercut. Inside was a clipping from a newspaper, the picture was of mine and Jackson’s kiss after we were pronounced husband and wife. The title was labeled ‘Small Town Girl Marries Big Time Baseball Star’. The only note that was written was I own you. Jackson looked over my shoulder before drawing me in for a hug.
“He knows where we live, Jackson…” I said quietly.
“We are movin’. End of story. I will spend as much as I need to for the best security,” Jackson kissed the top of my head.
He helped me up off the floor and over to the couch. When I was seated, he went to gather the mail I had dropped and took Tony’s note and the newspaper clipping from me. He got on the phone and within a few seconds, he was talking to someone. I didn’t know who it was, the only thing I heard was about how we needed a new place to rent for the next month and a half. Tony had found me. He knew where I lived, and he knew where Jackson’s team practiced. He wouldn’t hurt Jackson, would he?
Jackson sat beside me and put an arm around me, “Baby, I called the realtor who helped me find this place. She said there is a fully furnished penthouse apartment with top of the line security just outside of town that we can move into immediately. I also called my coach, I am goin’ in late tomorrow so that we can pack up the few things that we brought with us and move over there. If anythin’, Tony will think that I am at practice and that will allow us to move without him bein’ anywhere to see it happen.”
