“Inside or outside of baseball season?”
“The baby will be born in January, so outside of baseball season.”
“Thank god you’re a planner,” Jackson sighed and kissed me deeply as his arm moved lower and his hand rested on my belly.
“Ready for baby number three?” I inquired as I ran a hand through his messy hair.
“Definitely. We already have one of each, so I can’t complain about gender. But I’m more than ready to bring another baby into this world with you, Madeline.”
“I want another little boy, another baby Jackson. The world needs more men in the world like you,” I whispered.
Jackson shifted closer to me, “You mean men who throw away three years of their lives for cheatin’ ex-wives before they find the woman of their dreams?”
I giggled, “No, men who know how to treat a girl right…who know how to be a gentleman. And you didn’t throw away three years of your life, Jack. You always make it sound like you don’t have much more time left, but you still have so many years ahead of you and we have had nearly seven wonderful years together.”
“Even though I wish that I had far more time with you than just seven years, I wouldn’t trade our time together for anythin’ in the world.”
“We were brought together when we both needed it most. We were both down on our luck and whatever fates were out there, they brought us together,” I replied, putting my arms back around his neck.
“Have I ever told you how amazin’ you are?” Jackson asked softly, rubbing his nose against mine.
“Several times. So many that my ego has gotten pretty big over the years,” I teased.
“Well, I can’t ever say it enough.”
“I can’t ever say it enough about you, either.”
The End
