Daniel directed her out of the car safely; they walked a couple of feet away from the blanket they are supposed to sit on. Daniel yelling from the tree, Athena started walking towards him with one hand holding the pillow; she could see the blanket set perfectly with 2 bottles of wine ready to get evaporated by their mouths. “This is all for you my love.” Daniel walked over to her side of the blanket and laid her down slowly as he kissed her full of emotion, passionate. “I had no idea you had this in you.” Athena moved her hips and faced him, mesmerizing how amazing he is, and how lucky she is to find a guy like him. “I can just call you Casanova.” Athena giggled as Daniel tried his hardest not to laugh at that.
“Some wine?” Daniel raised his eyebrow knowingly she won’t say no. “Of course, you got 2 bottles for a reason right.” Athena blushed towards him.
Daniel poured her glass full and gave it to her. “Are you trying to make me drunk Mr. Cole?” Athena looked at him with a sarcastic smile. “Oh yes Ms. White that is my mission tonight and for you to have a good time, we only have around 2 hours left then you’ll be 22 and a day old.” Daniel chuckled after taking a gulp from his wine glass. “So you thought about this all right? No one else?” Athena pointed at everything and smiled.
“Yes, baby I swear this was all my idea.” Daniel shyly replied. “Do you want a roast beef sandwich?” “Yes, please.” Athena stated as Daniel reached over to the picnic basket and took out grated cheese and 2 roast beef sandwiches and sprinkled the cheese all over the sandwiches.
“Here you go baby.” “Thank you my love.” Daniel handed it to her while leaning back against his side of the pillows.
Athena kicked off her shoes and sat comfortably; Daniel noticed and did the same. Half way into the bottle of wine, Daniel decided to clean up some of the things and make more space for them to lie next to each other; he turned the lights in the tree off as the sky lights got even brighter.
Daniel felt her connection and began to get emotional. “Do you ever think sometimes of where you came from?”
He asked her while he rubbed her arm; Daniel took off his jacket and laid it on her legs for they were bare. “That’s a weird question but yeah sometimes I do think like that when I'm alone, when I'm alone with people around I just can’t help feeling like an alien. You are truly the only one that doesn't make me feel like that, I’m already so attached to you it's getting pretty damn scary.” Athena looked into his eye, catching a short smile. Daniel got up leaning on his arm and got closer to her face.
“I always think about that, it has been haunting me ever since I was young, I don't know if I would ever be able to find my place in life. But I hope that place has you in it.” Daniel slowly poked his head down for a kiss, but stopped mid-way, and stared at her.
“I love you.” Daniels voice trembled in shock for he didn't want to say that just yet, but he also wanted to say it because to Daniel it felt right in his heart to mention what he feels. He kept it in for too long and his brain, mind, body, and soul wouldn't let it go any further.

You do know we have to start studying for our mid-term exams right?” Will said silently sitting on the toilet as he took a puff from his cigarette. “Oh yeah, fuck man I completely forgot about that, we are coming now.” Daniel ended the call, shocked, as he gestured to Athena to get in the passenger’s seat. Daniel rushed over to get the blankets and the stuff they used that night. He threw them all in the trunk and got in the car. “Baby? Is everything okay?” Athena looked at Daniel quizzically as she leaned back on her seat pushing her feet against the dashboard.
“Yeah, we just completely forgot that we have mid-term exams coming up soon.” Daniel spoke in a concern tone, as he is not supposed to fail any exam. “Don’t worry, we can start a study group later today.”
Athena suggested as she took his hand, feeling every crack in his palm and kissed it. Daniel felt warmth running through his veins.
Minutes later they arrived at the dorms sections of the campus, sneakily they tried to bypass the guard for they forgot their dorm ID’s.
Daniel and Athena quickly ran to her dorm making sure not to be spotted by anyone. “Are you staying the night?” Athena asked him while standing at the door, swaying from left to right. “Not tonight, I think I’ll head over to Will for a while, haven't slept there in ages.”
Daniel laughed silently as he approached her; he lifted her up in the air and kissed her. “You’re my everything.” Daniel said, looking into her deep rich hazel green eyes seeing his future with her, and only her.
No one made him feel this kind of love, loyalty, honesty, and trust from one single person. It made him think about the thought of having to leave her, abandon the only love he ever had. Daniels eyes began to tear up as a tear-drop slowly ran down his cheek.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Athena jumped down from his arms, reaching for his face and wiping off his tear. “Nothing, I just really love you so much.” Daniel tried with all his might to stay strong, to not crack and spill everything he worked for. Athena looked at him with a sincere face; she pulled him down to her level of height and kissed him. “I love you Daniel Cole, with all of my heart.” Athena hugged him tightly never wanting to let go, she feared it might be her last time holding him. A love so deep made the ocean seem shallow, the heavens seemed much closer, but neither of them could stop their fate.
Chapter 7
Daniel, sleeping soundly, woke up by this strange feeling that someone is watching him. He opened one eye and saw Will standing over him in a robe. “Look who decided to show up.” Will speaks while eating a green apple from the fridge. “Please don't say that, you sound like Melissa.” Daniel covered his face as soon as a beam of light traveled into the room and caught his eye.
Daniel moved in a frustrated way like he didn't sleep for a thousand years. “Man, what time is it?” He recovered and got up hopelessly. Will walked slowly to his phone and checked the time. “12pm on the dot.” Will looked over to him as he went and laid down, kicking his flip flops to the ceiling.
Daniel got up vigorously looking for his phone incase Athena tried to call him to check up on him.
“Dude you can’t go back to bed, Athena said she’ll make a study group or something I don't know yet, we have to go check.” Daniel rushed to get ready, packing his books in a small blue back pack. He walked into the bathroom and saw his unfinished painting in front of the toilet seat. “Will! What’s my painting doing here? I put it behind the door incase Athena came in here.” Daniel spoke in a loud tone; he walked out of the bathroom and saw Will still lying down with Bose headphones over his ears.
Daniel slapped him under his foot sending a shock through his leg. Will got up in shock and quickly removed his headphones. “What the fuck man!” Will yelled as Daniel started to laugh as he never saw Will in a shocked state before. “What’s the painting doing there Will?” He asked.
With no response Daniel sat next to him silently. Looking dead into his eyes, he didn't blink once.
“You didn't do anything to the painting did you?” Daniel raised his eyebrow with a slight smirk on his face.
“I swear, I was scared that I might open the door too hard and break the canvas, so I put it where it won’t be damaged by my stupidity.” Will went and laid back down putting his headphones back on. “Now sh
ush I'm studying.”
Daniel unplugged his auxiliary cable from his laptop. “I just told you, Athena might arrange a study group so you're studying with me for the day. I’ll call her now and check.” Daniel dialed her number, as Will got up to get ready.
“Jenny, it was perfect, I couldn't have imagined it better myself. He was so romantic and gave me butterflies the whole night, we looked at the stars and it was just perfect. No one ever did that much for me in one night before.” Athena told Jenny everything about the wonderful night she had on her birthday with Daniel, leaving out key parts as Athena was afraid Jenny might have an evil eye on their relationship.
