Blood Craving

Every part of her body was open and alive. His cock slid in and out of her as the first twinge of her orgasm began deep inside her. Her heart beat wildly as she waited in anticipation for the first touch of those sharp points on her skin. Dante’s breath danced across her skin, and then Scarlett felt the slightest sting.

“Oh, yes…” she moaned softly as he began to pull on her vein, delivering the most exquisite sensations to every inch of her body. Her pussy clenched, her release rushing over her, and Dante thrust hard into her as his own flooded her insides.

He cried out, pulling her close. One last tug on her vein and he lifted his head, his cheeks flushed with satisfaction. Scarlett smiled, her own contentment making her wish this moment would never end.

  But she knew better.

She was a witch, and he was a vampire, and no matter how much her coven would help the Sons of Navarus defeat the Archons, she could never be his kind. As he slid his tongue over her neck to close the holes he’d made, she resigned herself to the reality of their worlds, wishing things could be different but knowing better.

“Thank you, Scarlett. I didn’t lie, did I? No turning me into a toad?” he said sweetly as he lowered her to the bed.

  “No toad spells tonight.”

They were silent for a long moment, and then he said in a voice she thought sounded slightly sad, “I better go. The rest of the Sons will be happy to hear the news I have to give them about your coven.”

“Happy to help. That’s our motto,” she said flippantly, hoping she was successful in hiding her disappointment at his leaving.

He dressed and picked up her shirt to hand to her. “I’m sure we’ll see each other again, Scarlett. I hope I’ve made you think better of my kind.”

She smiled at his attempt at cuteness and nodded. “You did, actually. And maybe I did the same for my kind.”

Leaning down, he kissed her gently on the lips. “Definitely.”

Scarlett slid into her jeans and shirt as he made his way toward the door. “Tell the rest of the Sons we’re ready.”

He turned as his hand landed on the doorknob, flashing her a sexy smile. “Until next time.”

The door closed behind him, and she sat down on the edge of the bed, surprised at how much she hoped there would be a next time with that delicious vampire.

Dante took his usual seat in Ramiel’s dining room and prepared to give his report on the negotiations with the witches. Everyone but Vasilije and Nico was there and eager to hear if he’d succeeded.

“So what can you tell us, Dante?” Terek asked. “Do we have that coven on our side?”

Easing back in his chair, Dante grinned. “Of course. She was like putty in my hands. I told you I’d handle it. They’re ready to go when we need them.”

He saw the surprised looks on the fellow Sons faces, and even Terek looked shocked that he’d succeeded. “Jesus, Terek. I thought at least you had faith in me.”

The most mystical Son simply smiled. “I’m sorry I doubted you.”

“You’ve probably been listening to the Romanian too much,” Dante gloated. “He still doesn’t believe in me.”

“I’ll be sure to tell him how well you did when I return east to the dragons. I’m sure he’ll be happy.”

Dante laughed at the thought of Vasilije happy. “He’ll be as miserable as he always is, but that’s even better.”

The topic changed from Dante’s triumph at securing another ally, and the Sons talked about how they’d use the American witches’ powers when the time came. Dante had nothing more to offer concerning the negotiations, but inside, he felt good about his time with Scarlett. He hadn’t told her, but after taking her blood into him, he was able to feel her still, and if she was ever in danger, he’d be right there by her side protecting her.

Not that he planned to wait until that happened to see her again. Whatever it was about her, she was unlike every other woman he’d ever been with. After all those nights sampling as many females as possible, he’d finally found the one who was destined to be his.
