She had no regrets, felt no guilt.
Why should she?
It was her turn to have it all.

A Letter from Valerie
Dear Reader,
I’m so pleased you chose to read Secrets Between Us and I do hope you enjoyed spending time with Ellie, Tia and Will. I have another novel coming out in February 2019. If you’d like to be among the first to know about this and future novels, please sign up here.
The idea for Secrets Between Us came to me one day when I saw an identical set of twins in a cafe. They were so alike I was taken aback and I started to wonder what it must be like to face your mirror image every day. Ellie and Tia’s story, as stories often do, grew from this simple encounter.
If you enjoyed, Secrets Between Us, it would be so much appreciated if you could write an online review. As you know, they make a huge difference in how a book is viewed and help attract new readers. It is also wonderful to see what people think of my stories.
I’d love to hear from you; it is one of the most enjoyable parts of being a writer, and feedback – both positive and negative – often guides my writing. You can join me on Facebook or Twitter – the details are below.
Love,
Valerie
Acknowledgements
There are so many people to whom I owe a debt of thanks that I could write a whole extra chapter! So, I’ll keep it short.
To my readers, for reading, reviewing and taking the time to send emails and messages – without you, none of the writing would be worthwhile.
To the wonderful Bookouture Team – Peta Nightingale, Head of Talent, who first gave me the opportunity; my wonderfully enthusiastic, patient and dedicated editor, Jessie Botterill, who helped me produce a better novel; and the amazingly active marketing and publicity duo of Kim Nash and Noelle Holton. It’s great to be part of the Bookouture family.
To my wonderfully supportive and encouraging friends who offered help, support and time. Too many to name here – you all know who you are.
Writing can be a lonely, isolating occupation but the writing community is warm, encouraging and generous with advice and time. I’d especially like to mention the authors, Jenny O’Brien and Leslie Bratspis who have been with me all the way, I couldn’t have got here without their unfailing support. Natasha Orme, for doing such a good job of editing my self-published novels and who helped me be a better writer. Also, my fellow Bookouture authors who are always willing to answer questions and offer advice
The Annual Dublin Writer’s Conference under the auspices of Laurence O’Brien has been a wonderful support. Not only have I learned a lot from attending, I have also met other writers who have become friends: Pat Gitt, Mary Kaplin and Alan Gibson from the US, Catherine Kullman and Pam Lecky-O’Shea from Ireland and Wendy H. Jones from Scotland.
Finally, I couldn’t have done any of it without my family. My wonderful husband, Robert, my sisters, Patricia, Deirdre, Heather, Geraldine and Joyce and my brothers Declan and Brendan. They, with their extended families, are the backbone of my life.
