No wonder he didn’t want me.

  (Greyson)

Holy fucking hell. My balls tightened, my cock lengthening to the point of painful while I watched the sight before me.

Eve had her hand in her leggings, stroking and finger fucking that tight heat between her thighs. Her eyes were squeezed shut, her breath coming out in short bursts of air.

I shouldn’t have been watching but couldn’t help it. I had gone back to her room to apologize. That was my intention anyway. I probably wouldn’t have and instead grunted like the moron that I was. But when I had reached the door, I didn’t hear anything, so I assumed she was sleeping. What I found was not what I was expecting.

I opened the door slowly and stopped when I saw her sitting on the couch with her hand pleasing that ache I had felt down to the marrow of my bones.

  “Greyson,” she whispered.

Fuck me. Pre-cum dripped from my dick, the length hardening and pushing against the fly of my jeans.

Cupping myself, I put pressure on the delicious agony erupting through me and watched.

  Come for me, sweet girl.

  And she did. Hard.

When my name left her lips again, a growl rumbled from my chest. What I wouldn’t give to look into her eyes while her body rippled over my cock. It would happen. In time. Just not yet. I wasn’t sure what it was about her that made me wait when the women before her would have been bouncing on my dick already. There was something about Eve that made me want more.

When she got up from the couch and headed into the bathroom, I was never more pleased with myself.

Popping the collar of my leather jacket, I walked away, a smug smile forming on my face.

  “WHAT DO WE know?”

  “Nothing.”

“There has to be someone who knows at least something that can help us.”

  “Nope. No one is talking.”

  “Fuck my life.”

With my head in my hands, I tried to ignore my brothers talking. It had been a week since Eve had shown up to the club, and we still knew nothing about why or how she ended up in the woods.

The clubhouse didn’t look like your typical biker club. It was an actual home. My home and it was just short of being considered a mansion. Only certain people knew of its whereabouts, and the fact a stranger showed up right on my doorstep, no matter how fucking hot she was, didn’t sit well with me.

  “Grey.”

I looked up at the use of my name and found everyone staring back at me. “What?”

“Has she said anything to you or Trixie?” Catch asked.

“No.” But it wasn’t like she could say anything to me when I had been avoiding her. I was such a pussy. After watching her come by her own touch, I couldn’t face her. I didn’t know why but she set my nerves on edge. I had been in control of everything around me for so long that I became unhinged around her.

Rising to my feet, I glanced out the large bay window. It was sunny out, unlike my current mood. It was a beautiful day but one that I couldn’t enjoy when I was so wrapped up in my head.

Penny jumped up onto the windowsill, running her body along my hip, and let out a soft meow.

“Did Trixie say what happened to her?” Catch asked.

“No.” I rubbed the scruff of my jaw while scratching Penny’s head with my other hand.

  “Grey.”

“What?” I snapped, my head whipping around. Penny jumped off the sill and ran to the other side of the room, giving me a death stare. I bit back a curse. Females. No matter the breed, they still drove me crazy.

Catch raised an eyebrow, his dark eyes twinkling with amusement.

“Well, if we don’t know shit, I got me some pussy to eat.” Tray stood, knuckles rapping the table. “You good, boss?”

I looked at each of my men, my brothers, guys I had known forever. I gave them a small nod.

Butcher sat back, curling his fingers behind his head, a knowing smirk spreading on his face. He knew. The fucker actually knew.

“Fucking perfect,” I muttered. “We’ll continue this later.” Because I had nothing new to tell them. I couldn’t focus. I had been spending most of my time the past week in the gym. Working out was the only thing that kept me from storming into Eve’s room and fucking the shit out of her before she knew what I was doing.

  My dick twitched.

Palming my semi, I scrubbed a hand down my face.

The guys left, leaving me alone to stew in my own frustrated misery.

  “I know how you feel.”

I looked up, finding Butcher staring back at me. “I thought you left.”

“Nope.” He turned toward me. “Trixie made me feel the same way in the beginning.”

“I have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about,” I muttered, glancing out the window again.

  “Sure. Keep telling yourself that.”

  “Butch—”

“Greyson.” He came up beside me, towering over my six-foot-four height. “Listen.” He clapped a hand on my shoulder. “I get it. You can deny it all you want. But you’re a man. She’s a woman. You’re fucking human.”

“I can’t have her. Not with what she’s been through.” As much of a dick as I was, I wouldn’t use a woman who was destroyed by other men.

“But you don’t know for a fact that she was attacked.”

  “She had bruises.”

“So?” Butcher let out a rough sigh. “All I’m saying is, stop avoiding her. I’m sick of hearing about it from my wife.”

“Really?” I raised an eyebrow. “Eve said something?”

Butcher shrugged and headed to the door. “Stop being a girl and ask her yourself.”

  Fucker.

  (Eve)

“I need out of this room,” I told Trixie. “I can’t stay in here anymore. I need to earn my keep. I need to do something.”

“I know.” She patted my hand. “We wanted to make sure you were fine before we gave you a job.”

“Can I please work behind the bar or something?” I was going stir-crazy. With Greyson avoiding me for the past week, my dreams were invaded by him. Every night they only became more detailed, more aggressive. My dream version of him didn’t do anything to satisfy this ache. This itch that I had inside me that I needed him to scratch.

“Have you talked to Greyson?” Trixie asked, heading to the door.

  “No.” I frowned.

“Well, let’s go then.” She left the room.

Jumping from the couch, I followed her. When we reached the end of the hall, a gasp escaped me. “I didn’t realize this place was so big.”

“Well, you were kind of out of it when you showed up.” Trixie smiled gently. “Grey didn’t want this place to look like your typical club. Yeah, the house is huge but we’re in the middle of nowhere. We don’t need to blend in thanks to being in the boonies.”

  I nodded.

“This is the main area. Your room is on the ground floor. There’s a second level where Greyson, Catch, and Tray stay. Some of the other guys are at the opposite side of the house. Butcher and my room is on the main level as well but closer to the back. Regular parties are thrown here,” she said, sweeping her arm out in front of her when we reached a large room that looked like a cross between a foyer and a hall. “Which is funny seeing as Greyson is not the social type. But he does what he needs to, to get by.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, taking in everything around me. Booths lined the one wall. A large bar stood at the back of the room.

“He’s trying to make a better name for his club. Most of these presidents want one thing. Power. As much as Grey enjoys having it as well, he’s not a controlling dick like the rest of them.” She looked at me over her shoulder that time. “He may be an asshole as well, but he loves hard. With every inch of him.”

  I scoffed. “Right.”

She shrugged, jumping up onto a stool by the bar. “Believe what you want.”

Needing to change the subject off the guy wh
o had been in my dreams for the past several nights, I went behind the bar. “So … when do I start?”

  “SHE’S DOING WHAT?”

I bristled at the deep booming voice coming from down the hall and went back to making drinks for some of the club members.

“Ignore him,” Catch said, taking a swig from his beer. “He’s grumpy.”

I snorted. “When is he not grumpy?”

  He chuckled. “Touché.”

Just as I was handing another one of the guys a drink, Greyson stomped around the corner. He stopped suddenly, his cold gaze landing on me.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” he asked, coming toward me.

“I’m making drinks for your crew.” I placed my hands on my hips, staring him down. He was not going to win this fight. “I want to earn my keep. You and Trixie have done enough for me. It’s time I help out.”

“Woman,” he growled. “There are men who come and go in this place that would cut you up if you let them.”

I shivered at that thought but it still didn’t mean I had to sit in my room like a lump.

“Whatever.” I waved him off. “You told me to stay with the guys and not to be alone. Well, I’m alone every time I’m in that room. I’m sick of it.”

“Maybe we should leave,” Trixie told the guys.

“What for?” Catch grinned. “This is fun.”

  “Eve,” Greyson snarled.

“You know.” I poured myself a shot of whiskey and took it back in one gulp. The liquid heated me from within and it felt so damn good. “For someone who doesn’t give a shit about me, you seem to care an awful lot if these men see me. Are you wanting to keep me for yourself? Is that it?”

His eyes darkened, his hands clenching into fists at his sides.

“On second thought.” Catch stood from the bar. “Maybe we should leave.”

Once Grey and I were alone, I turned away from him and grabbed a couple of glasses from the fridge that were being cooled, then placed them on the counter.

“Stop brooding, Greyson,” I told him. “It’s not going to get you anywhere.” Faster than I could have imagined, his hand wrapped around my arm and he dragged me away from the bar and into the hall leading to my room.

“Grey, let go of me,” I cried, attempting to pry his fingers off my arm.

When he didn’t say anything, I knew. He was losing control and he didn’t like it. But what the hell was he so damn scared of?

“Greyson,” I said gently. “Please let me go. I’m only trying to help.”

Once we reached my room, he shoved me inside. “Help by staying in here.” He slammed the door shut. When a lock clicked into place, my heart jumped to my throat.

“What the hell? Greyson. Greyson.” I ran to the door, beating my fists against it. “You can’t keep me in here. I’m not a fucking hostage, you bastard. Greyson, please let me out.” I screamed when he didn’t open the door. “I hate you,” I yelled. “I hate you.” My words turned into a whisper as I slid down the door. What did I do to deserve this? Tears burned my ears, my throat tightening at what my life had become. Not that I knew if it was any better before this. It wasn’t fair. At all.

  (Greyson)

She hated me. As much as I wanted her to, it still hurt to hear the words leaving her mouth. What the hell was I thinking? She wasn’t a hostage. She was right. But I refused to have the other men who came into my club like their shit didn’t stink make a pass at her. Because if that happened, and it would, I would end up in jail for killing them all.

Never in my life had I been so damn possessive over someone. Eve brought out this protective alpha inside of me and I didn’t like it. Not one fucking bit.

  “Grey?”

I looked up, finding Catch standing at the end of the hallway. I realized then that I was sitting on the ground outside Eve’s door.

“What’s going on?” he asked, his brows furrowing.

“Greyson,” Eve said, her voice muffled by the closed door between us, but I could still hear her perfectly.

I met Catch’s gaze and shook my head.

He nodded once, leaving me alone with my guilt and shame.

“Did I do something wrong?” Eve asked, her voice thick.

My heart panged. “No,” I gritted out.

“Then why are you keeping me in here?” she asked, sniffling. “If I’m not a hostage, then why won’t you let me out?”

“It’s to keep you safe,” I muttered, bringing my knees up to my chest. And to keep me from killing every fucker who laid eyes on her.

“It’s funny.” She laughed lightly. “This whole time I haven’t cried. Not when I showed up here. Not when I was running for my life. Even having no memory of what happened or who I was before this, I didn’t shed a single tear. But you, your hatred for me.” Her voice cracked. “I hate you for making me cry.”

My chest tightened. “I don’t hate you.”

“Then why the hell am I in here? You told me I can leave any time. You’ve locked me away like a damn hostage. Is it sex? Is that why you won’t let me bartend? Do you want me for yourself? What is it, Greyson? Am I your dirty little secret?”

Her badgering of questions set me off. It was a battle of should I or shouldn’t I and, with each accusation that left her mouth, it only heightened my need for her.

Pushing to my knees, I opened the door.

Her eyes widened. Rushing out of my way, she fell back on her ass and crawled away from me.

I kicked the door closed, clicking the lock into place, and grabbed her ankles before she got away. I didn’t know what I was doing. The rage inside of me took over as I pulled her toward me.

She gasped, slapping her hands against my chest. A moment of fear flashed behind her eyes, but I didn’t give a shit. It only turned me on.

Placing my hands on the floor on either side of her head, I leaned down and brushed my nose up the length of her neck. I inhaled, the scent of fresh body wash wafting around me.

“To answer your questions, no, it’s not sex,” I growled against her throat, pushing my waist between her thighs. “I don’t want you to bartend because it isn’t safe. Do I want you for myself? You bet your ass I do.” I pushed into her again, igniting a low moan to escape the back of her throat.

“Then why do you hate me if you want me so much?” she whispered, gripping my arms.

Instead of answering like I knew she deserved, I nipped the soft spot just below her ear. “I saw you.”

“What are you talking about?” she breathed, spreading her legs wider for me.

“And I heard you.” I licked up her jawline, sinking my teeth into her chin. “You came hard.”

Her body stiffened. “Were you watching me like a creeper?”

I chuckled. Gripping her hips, I pulled her farther beneath me and rested my arms just above her head. “Nah, beautiful girl. I was just enjoying the show and wanted to see how long it took before I made you come.”

“You didn’t do shit,” she snapped, her eyes cold.

“No, I didn’t.” I ground into her. “But thinking of me did. What was I doing in your little fantasy, Eve? Was I fucking you? Eating this sweet pussy? Fingering your ass? Tell me.”

“I’m not telling you shit.” She glared, a flush of red hitting her cheeks. “How do you know I was thinking about you anyway?”

In a quick move, I fisted her hair in my hand and wrapped the other around her throat. “I heard you moan my name.”

Her pulse sped up. She was trapped with nowhere to go and I would get the answer I was looking for. Whether she liked it or not.

THAT LITTLE VOICE inside my head told me to push Greyson away. That he would hurt me. That he would rip out my heart and stomp on it without even thinking twice. But the sexual woman in me didn’t care. I wanted him in ways I never even knew existed. Is this what it felt like? To truly want someone and do anything to have them? Was I like this before I lost my memory?

I licked my bottom lip, watchin
g his eyes move with the slide of my tongue. His nostrils flared, that heavy muscle between his legs pushing into me.

My hands moved up his arms to his shoulders and down his chest. His hard muscles twitched, the strength of him rippling over his bones.

With his hand still around my throat, he could snap my neck before I even knew what was happening, but he wouldn’t. He wanted me just as much as I wanted him.

“You were eating me out,” I whispered, meeting his heated stare head on. “It felt so good, Greyson.”

His jaw clenched, that muscle in his cheek pulsing at my words. “You need to stop.”

“Why?” My hands traveled down his chest to the waistband of his jeans. “I know you want me. I can feel it.”

“You’re a woman. Of course I want you.”

His words made me pause. “You’re lying.”

“You don’t fucking know me. How the hell could you know that?” he demanded, his fingers tightening around my throat.

“I see the way you look at me.” I unbuckled his belt, my hands shaking the closer I got to touching him.

“Eve,” he growled. “You don’t want me.”

“Yes—” I pulled the belt free from the loops “—I do.”

“No.” He leaned down, his mouth a hair’s breadth away from my own. “You just think you do because I’m the only man who’s shown you attention.”

“You’re an asshole.” I ripped open his fly, my body heating.

“But you still want me.” He turned my head and licked up the side of my neck. “How does that make you feel?”

“It makes me hate you even more,” I bit out, reaching a hand into his jeans.

He shivered, a soft groan escaping the back of his throat. “Hate me all you want, baby, because I’m not fucking you. Not now. Not ever.”

“You will.” I shoved my head out of his grip and looked him straight on at the same time as I grabbed onto his dick in a rough move.

He snarled, his eyes rolling into the back of his head.

“You will fuck me, Greyson,” I told him, my hand moving in quick jerks from base to tip. “Because I know as much you like being in control, you can’t control this. I have you throbbing.” I kissed his chin. “Aching.” I licked along his bottom lip. “I have you in the palm of my hand. And there’s nothing you can do about it because you want me just as much as I want you.”
