Erica gasped as she threw her head back in ecstasy while Charlie’s fingers moved in and out, her tongue still gliding across her clit, sending Erica over the edge.

“I’m coming,” Erica panted as her hips rose to meet Charlie’s tongue while she held her fingers inside of Erica, letting her ride out the wave.

Erica closed her eyes and took a deep breath as her body went limp and Charlie moved to lie down beside her.

Charlie didn’t say anything as Erica turned slightly, draping her arm across Charlie’s stomach while she tried to catch her breath.

Erica opened her eyes to meet Charlie’s, her sea blue eyes even brighter than they normally were.

Erica cupped Charlie’s cheek as she leaned in to find her lips, kissing her passionately as she rolled herself on top of Charlie until she was straddling her hips.

Charlie broke the kiss to push herself into a sitting position, with the headboard behind her for support, and her hands around Erica’s waist as their lips met again.

Erica had wanted to take control but before she knew it Charlie’s hand was between her legs again, her fingers gliding through her soaking wet sex until she plunged three fingers inside.

Erica held on to Charlie’s shoulders as she pumped her fingers in and out, their lips meeting in a hungry kiss until Erica had to pull away, arching her back as she came hard, her hips bucking wildly against Charlie’s hand.

Charlie held onto her as Erica’s hips moved against Charlie’s palm, grinding out every ounce of pleasure from her orgasm.

“Wow,” Charlie said, looking up at Erica, her left hand wrapped around Erica as she slowly withdrew her fingers and brought them up to her lips to lick clean.

Erica ducked her head, her lips meeting Charlie’s as soon as she’d removed her fingers. Erica’s tongue grazed Charlie’s as she cupped her cheek, kissing her deeply.

Erica shifted so that she was still on top of Charlie but had room to move her hand down to Charlie’s sex. She could feel Charlie’s juices before she even parted her lips.

Charlie moaned into her mouth as Erica slid two fingers inside of her as they continued to kiss.

Erica shifted her hand so that her palm would make contact with Charlie’s clit with every thrust.

She could feel Charlie’s walls tightening around her fingers as she picked up the pace.

Charlie broke their kiss, panting, her nails raking across Erica’s back as she came.

Erica watched her come, Charlie’s eyes shut tight as she held onto Erica. She wanted to freeze that moment in time. The look of pure ecstasy on Charlie’s face made Erica feel more than she knew she should be feeling this early on and she knew that she fell even harder for Charlie in those few seconds.

Erica leaned in to find her lips as she withdrew her fingers and Charlie wrapped her arms around her.

Erica smiled as she met Charlie’s blue eyes. She didn’t think she’d ever had such a connection with someone that they didn’t need to speak to help each other get over the edge.

  “That was… intense,” Charlie breathed.

“Hmmm… I was just thinking that.”

  “And it’s not even midnight…”

“I know,” Erica said with a smirk as she slid down Charlie’s body, away from her embrace, following the musky aroma of Charlie’s sex until her tongue wrapped around Charlie’s bud and she made her come hard, again.

  Chapter 30

Charlie could barely walk, and she didn’t know how she made it through the morning and the two appointments she’d made downtown.

They hadn’t left her bed all weekend and the pains running through her calves with every step she took were a constant reminder.

She never thought of herself as a sex addict but after this weekend she was beginning to think that she might be.

Maybe it’s just because it’s been a while and I’m trying to make up for lost time.

Charlie sat down behind her desk and kicked off her heels, bending down to gently massage her knotted calves.

After a few minutes without much relief, she gave up. She pulled opened the top drawer and took out the little velvet box that had nearly gotten her into a lot of trouble.

She had returned the ring to her desk when she decided not to ask Lara to marry her, but she knew she just needed to get rid of it.

Another thing to get done this week.

Charlie dropped the velvet box into her handbag, promising herself that she’d make time to go back to the jewelers this week.

Charlie would need to figure out how to make time for Erica. After just one weekend of putting off work she was already feeling overwhelmed.

She’d pushed Saturday and Sunday lunches and afternoon meetings to today and tomorrow, while somehow keeping the appointments she’d already arranged for those days.

Charlie knew her secretary was ready to kill her. They had a great working relationship but that meant that Michelle could be brutally honest with Charlie and she wasn’t being shy about it today.

Charlie hadn’t told her that she was dating someone. She’d tell her eventually.

Wait, are we dating? We never really talked about it. We just…

Charlie’s mind replayed last night’s events, the way Erica had pulled her into the shower with her, backing her up against the mocha tiles, and somehow made her come while she was standing up, something Charlie had never been able to do before.

A knock on her door took Charlie away from her thoughts. It was Jules. They had a meeting to get to.

  Chapter 31

“So, you called in sick to work Saturday and Sunday?” Jenny asked with a wink. “You never call in sick… Bad hangover?” she teased.

“No… Something came up,” Erica said as she continued setting the tables before they opened up.

“I’m sorry, did you say you ‘came?’”

  “Jen!”

Erica’s cheeks darkened as she moved on to the next table, laying out the cutlery.

“Well, it’s not my fault I have to guess,” Jenny said, following her with the plates. “You could just tell me how your weekend went.”

  “I was at Charlie’s.”

  “All weekend?”

  “Yes.”

  “Wow…”

“Wow is right,” Erica said, trying to keep the grin off her face.

  “So… Things are going well?”

  “Yeah.”

“What’d you do? Where’d she take you?” Jenny asked.

“I don’t quiz you like this after a date.”

“No but the date usually ends after a few hours… Yours went on all weekend. And it would probably have kept going if you didn’t have to be here today.”

“Fine… We didn’t go anywhere,” Erica said quietly.

  “Ahh… That kind of date.”

“Exactly. So please stop the interrogation.”

“So, when are you seeing her again?” Jenny asked.

  “I don’t know.”

  “Really?”

“Really… We both have a busy week workwise, so I don’t know.”

“Kevin told me that Charlie’s a workaholic,” Jenny said matter-of-factly.

Erica stopped what she was doing to face her. “I thought you wanted us to get together…”

“I do… Now, I’m just being a good friend and trying to look out for you.”

Erica nodded. “Thanks… What happened to you on Friday night? The last time I saw you, you were dancing with two women.”

Jenny’s smirk said it all. “Yeah.”

“So, which one did you convince to come home with you?”

  “Who said anything about one?”

  Erica’s jaw dropped. “Jen, seriously?”

“You’re just jealous,” she said with a laugh.

  “No… No. I’m actually not.”

  Chapter 32

By Thursday, Charlie’s schedule was pretty much under control. She promised Michelle that she’d make it up to her. The week wasn’t even ov
er, and she knew that this was probably Michelle’s worst week working there.

Charlie had her juggling appointments and doing her best to keep Charlie’s clients happy.

Finally, Charlie had a two-hour window in her schedule, so she could meet Erica for lunch. She thought that they could have dinner some night during the week, but Erica was working until close every night.

They were meeting at an Italian restaurant near The Mezz so that Erica could go into work at three.

Charlie left the office thirty minutes ago, expecting to get to the restaurant right about now but she was still a few blocks away. She gave Erica a quick call to tell her that she’d be a few minutes late.

Charlie watched the city go by as her cab changed lanes and sped up, getting her closer to her destination.

When Charlie arrived at the restaurant ten minutes later, Erica had a table by the window.

“Sorry I’m late,” Charlie said as she gave Erica a quick hug.

“It’s okay. I’ve got about an hour until I have to leave for work. How’s your week been?”

“Busy… Crazy. But I’m getting it under control. I can’t remember the last time I took a weekend off.”

  “Having regrets?” Erica teased.

“None… None at all… I’m trying to figure out how to clear my schedule this weekend too.”

“I think I already have plans,” Erica said with a smile tugging at her lips.

Charlie thought for a split second she was being serious and was surprised to find out how easily that upset her.

We hardly know each other and I’m already assuming that we’re spending the weekend together again… Smooth…

“I didn’t mean to,” Charlie started, trying to recover from that slip.

“I’m just joking. Of course, I want to see you again this weekend. Only if you can make it work though… I don’t want to keep you away from something important.”

The waitress came and took their orders and Charlie wondered where her normal overly confident self was. She was a little on edge and she didn’t know why.

Despite her nerves, Charlie enjoyed their lunch. The time went by faster than she would have liked and before they knew it, Erica had to get going if she wanted to be at The Mezz on time for her shift.

“Let me know if you’re free this weekend,” Erica said as she leaned in to kiss Charlie on the cheek as they stood outside the restaurant. “For any of it. Even just an hour or two is fine with me.”

“Okay. I will,” Charlie said as Erica pulled away.

  “See you later.”

“Bye,” Charlie said as she watched Erica walk away and then turned to flag down a cab.

  Chapter 33

Erica finally had an early finish on Friday evening, getting home just after seven o’clock. She’d had a shower and was looking forward to a lazy evening to catch up on her favorite TV series when she got a text from Charlie saying that she was on her way home and was it okay if she stopped by.

Erica reread the message making sure that she hadn’t misread it.

She wants to come here… Why?

Erica sat on the edge of her bed in her robe, her hair still wet, as she tried to figure out how to respond.

She knows I have roommates… She’s met Jenny too… And Jenny’s not even going to be here for much longer. She always heads out at around eight. Taylor’s not around this weekend either.

Erica glanced around her room, mentally calculating how long she would need to tidy up.

It was going to happen eventually. She couldn’t keep going to Charlie’s apartment. Maybe this is the best time. I just need to clean up…

Erica replied saying that she was home and gave Charlie her apartment number. She got dressed first, in skinny jeans and a navy sweater, and then started putting things away and fixing the pillows on her bed.

She liked that her room was kind of plain. The walls were white, and she had an oak dresser that sat in the middle of the wall across from her bed.

There was a full-length mirror in the corner and her double bed had a gray and white duvet on it with matching pillows.

There wasn’t a lot of color, but it was simple. If she had a few less things, she might look like she was a minimalist.

Once all her clothes were neatly hung up and her shoes put back in her closet, the only other items on display were her violin which was hanging on the wall between the mirror and the dresser and a few candles that were dotted around the room.

Jenny knocked on her door on her way out and knew something was up when Erica was so busy cleaning. She didn’t say anything though and Erica told her to have fun tonight.

She only had a few minutes to put on a light layer of makeup before there was a knock on her door at around eight thirty.

“Hey,” Erica said as she held the door open for Charlie who looked tired but still incredibly beautiful.

“Hi,” Charlie said as she stepped inside Erica’s apartment. She shrugged her black winter coat off her shoulders and Erica hung it up for her inside the door.

Her blond hair was left down, falling just below her shoulders. She was wearing a royal blue dress that showed off her toned legs.

Erica felt underdressed, but she knew Charlie had just left the office and Erica could always get changed again if they decided to go out.

“Can I get you something to drink? There’s wine… I don’t have any good whiskey I’m afraid,” Erica said as she led Charlie into the small living room area that was thankfully tidy.

  “Do you have white?”

  “Yes.”

Charlie sat down on the brown leather sofa while Erica poured them each a glass from the kitchen that overlooked the living room area.

Erica joined her a few seconds later, handing her a glass. “Busy day?”

“Yes,” Charlie said as she took a sip. “Productive though. I have three buyers that want one of our listings and I’m currently waiting to see if the first bidder feels like coming back into mix. He’s been quiet while the other two have gone back and forth.”

  “I can’t believe there’s such demand.”

“This is a great building with amazing views of Central Park, completely unobstructed, and it was priced low so we kind of expected a bidding war. So, I’d like to apologize in advance… If my phone rings, I have to get it. I know it’s rude but-.”

“Charlie, it’s okay. I know you never really switch off from your job,” Erica said as she took a drink. “It’s okay.”

“Really?” Charlie asked as she took another drink.

“It’s one of the things I find most attractive about you… That you’re a hard worker. That you love what you do.”

Erica thought she saw Charlie’s cheeks darken as she watched her take a drink.

“Among other things of course,” Erica added, causing Charlie’s eyebrows to rise.

  “Like…”

“The way you walk into a room, full of confidence… Your smile when you’re trying not to smile…”

“I’d really like it if you’d keep going but I need to kiss you,” Charlie said as she leaned in, her soft lips brushing across Erica’s in a delicate yet passionate kiss.

Erica cupped Charlie’s cheek as her lips parted against hers and a warmth spread through her body as it always seemed to when Charlie’s lips were on hers.

Charlie’s tongue grazed across her lower lip and she let out a low moan, images of last weekend fresh in her mind.

Just when Erica was thinking about climbing on top of Charlie she heard an unfamiliar ring tone.

Charlie pulled away and cursed under her breath. “I have to take this… Sorry,” she said as she took her phone out of her bag that was on the floor beside her feet and wandered down the hall to take the call.

Erica took a deep breath and reached for her drink. She noticed that both of them were running a little low and got up to get the bottle of Chardonnay from the refrigerator.

She brought it over to the coffee table and
topped up both of their glasses, but she accidently let a few drops spill as she finished refilling them.

Erica returned the bottle to the refrigerator and got a cloth to wipe down the coffee table. She cursed when she saw that a few drops had trickled down onto Charlie’s bag that was slightly underneath the coffee table.
