Melody was wild for him. Saliva coated her tongue as she anticipated his flavor. She needed this. Needed him.
A deep growl built up from her chest as she kissed and licked his neck. He growled her name, fingers clawing her hips.

“Look into my eyes, mate. You are mine surely as I belong to you. Our matebond is strong, you bear my emerald rose, surely as you wear that dragon tattoo on your back-”
“You saw?”
“You mean the miniature portrait of my dragon? Yes, love,” his grin was her undoing, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him again.
“Your Dragon?”
“It is an exact copy, I swear it.”
She heard the certainty in his voice and more when he opened his mind’s eye to her. His beast was glorious. An enormous green dragon with a long neck and fierce teeth. He puffed smoke from his nostrils and chuffed for her. Love and possession emanating from him. Beautiful. And yes, she thought, an exact replica of my tattoo.
“Marry me?” She spoke the words before she could stop them, and her Dragon Shifter roared a laugh before kissing her again.
“You took the words right out of my mouth!”
“Mmm, don’t worry. I have other uses for your mouth besides words, mate.”
She tugged him close and he willingly went where she led. She lifted her head, monitoring his progress as he slowly licked his way down her body.
Thank god for Shifter resilience, she bit her lip and moaned as he kissed her sensitive inner thigh.
“Do you like that, love?”
“Mmm. I think I can live with it,” she teased, then lost all ability to speak as his long, clever tongue snaked out and flicked across her sensitive clit.
“Niko?”
“Mmm.”
“You never answered my question. Will you marry me?”

“What?” he lifted a hand to trace the outline of her breast, but she swatted him away.
“Niko, talk first, sexy times, later. Okay?”
“Anything for you,” he said, but his naughty fingers continued to trace along her thighs and hips, nearly distracting her.
“The Witch, Nikolai, she said something odd?”
“What did this Witch say, my love, and do I need to hunt her down?”
“No, hush. Listen. She said there were rumors about you.”
His grin soon turned into a frown and she guessed he knew what this was all about. He lifted her off him and stood up. His nudity aside, he looked about nervously and paced the room.
“Uh, Melody, are you sure you want to discuss this?”
“Yes? I mean, yes,” she said a little more firmly, “She said-”
“I imagine she told you rumors of my inability to perform on command?” His skin burned bright red and she smiled at his boyishness.
Her big, bad Dragon Shifter was embarrassed. As if he had reason to be! She kept a straight face as he ruffled a hand through his har and exhaled. He sat down on the edge of the bed, his back towards her as he spoke.
“The fact is, Melody,” he growled and continued though it was obvious he was uncomfortable.
“I have not taken a lover in over a century. My Dragon would not, um, cooperate, you see. He was not interested in tasting pleasure with anyone other than my one, fated mate.”
Melody’s jaw hung open. Was she hearing this correctly? The man who had so thoroughly loved her the past two days had been abstinent for longer than she’d been alive! Holy cow!
“This is not something I’ve talked about with anyone else,” he began, but before he could finish, she’d wrapped herself around him from behind.
“Niko?”
“Yes?” Tension rolled off him in waves as she decided what she was going to say.
“You waited all that time to find your mate?”
“I waited all that time for you.”
“So, that’s your big secret is it? And I thought it was gonna be something all bloody and gory,”
“Ha,” he laughed, “That’s my secret, love, no guts or gore, just a Dragon hopelessly waiting for his love to come to him.”
She felt his happiness bloom between their matebond as he reached for her and dragged her across his lap.
“Well, that’s a secret I think I can live with!” She smiled as she kissed him. Love, desire, and promise filled her from head to toe. Melody trembled with anticipatio

They tumbled together in their bed and explored one another for the rest of the night. Wave after wave of rapturous bliss engulfed them. Finally, her mate turned to her and smiled.
“So, what now?” She asked.
“Now, there are no more secrets. Just us, sweet mate.”
EPILOGUE
Melody strode towards the kitchen in the main part of the Castle looking for her mate. After several days, most of which they’d spent in bed, she’d relented enough to move in with her Dragon.
As if he had to do much arm twisting, she snorted. She couldn’t wait to move in, the platinum emerald and diamond ring on her finger was a testament to his sincerity almost as much as the emerald rose marking that warmed and pulsed on her skin whenever he was near.
She belonged there, at Castle Falk, with her mate. They’d found their fur and scales together last night for the first time. The two of them anxious for their beasts to meet face to face.
Melody had been in awe of the magnificence of Niko’s EnergyDragon. The magical beast was more powerful and majestic as anything she could have imagined. Her Coyote had yipped at his heels and howled in glee when he’d raced through the pine barrens with her.
Yes. She was exactly where she belonged. In fact, she’d just emailed her official resignation letter to Mrs. Grayson at Merlin Banking Solutions.
Oddly enough the woman had already started the paperwork, having had an inkling Melody would not be returning after she’d sent her down to Maccon City after Nikolai, unbeknownst to her.
It didn’t matter. She had a new job at Draco Fortis. She was excited at the prospect of exploring the partnership between her mate and Graves Enterprises. They had many projects in the works. They only needed the greenlight from her to begin production.
One thing she did immediately was send a huge NO THANK YOU, to Virdi Lux and the vicious tongued Angie White. Followed by an announcement in the local newspaper of the upcoming nuptials. Take that, beyotch.
After a honeymoon of course. She’d agreed with Niko on that front. They needed time. Their mating too new for work to intrude.
She stretched her arms and sighed as she padded barefoot across the marble floors. She probably should have donned something more than her towel, but he’d promised her breakfast in bed and she was starving.
“Niko?”
She entered the kitchen and was stunned to see three enormous males each with his arms around a woman, one was obviously pregnant, and another held a squirming baby.
“Uh-”
“Hello!”
“Is this her?”
“Yes, her scent is mixed with his.”
“She’s naked!”
“Hi!”
Whispered murmurs, wide eyes, and smiles met her confused face as she tried to duck back out the door. But her mate decided to stroll in at that time, wrapping his arms around her and pressing his hard bulge into her ass.
“I had to run to the store, love, but since we are here why don’t we pick up-”
Heat pooled between her legs, her constant state around him, she realized. He nibbled her neck and she was speechless for a second before she recalled their audience and elbowed him.
“Ouch!”
“Nik, perhaps your mate would like to learn our names before you expose her to your family?” Callius’ laughing voice boomed in front of them and her mate stilled instantly.
“Oh stop, Cal!” Winifred handed her tall husband the baby before coming over and embracing the nearly naked Melody.
“Hello, ooh you’re Coyote, that’s cool, I’m a Werewolf, my name is Winifred, but everyone calls me Fred,”
“Damn,” Nikolai growled and took off his sweatshirt, sliding the top over his mate’s damp curls and tugging it done over her nearly nude frame.
“That’s a lovely mate you got there, runt,” growled a large redhead followed by a grunt after the short curly-haired woman next to him slapped his arm and rushed forward to take Melody’s hand.
“I’m sorry, it will be over soon,” Nik kissed her ear and held her close. She was decently covered by his oversized sweatshirt, but embarrassment stained her cheeks.
“I’m Joss, that’s my mate Edric. That there is Sander and Noelle, and welcome to the family!!”
Melody smiled and shook hands, exchanged hugs, and learned the names of Nik’s three brothers.
She’d had no idea that mating him was going to include an instant family, but her heart felt near to bursting it was so full of happiness.
They escaped back to their bedroom and she stood off to the side as Nikolai entered slowly behind her.
“Baby?”
“You never said you had family,” she murmured.
His heart stopped. Was this a game changer? He did not know but he was scared as fuck.
“No, I didn’t think it was important.”
“I’m sorry, I should have asked if you were okay living here, with everyone. The Castle is designed to be four separate living quarters with only the main halls and kitchen joining them, but Melody I swear if this is an issue for you, we can go, anywhere you like.”
She turned her glowing eyes on him and leapt in his arms. He caught her. Ever-ready for his sweet mate.
“You gave me a family, Niko,” she whispered the words as if they were a secret.
“You are my family, Melody,” he said and locked his lips onto hers.
Love and desire burned through his veins.
“Es Meus.”
“Yes. Yours,” she moaned.
“I love you.”
