  Chapter One

  Nisha

Since becoming a sex slave on an alien pleasure planet, there wasn’t anything that could surprise me anymore. I’d seen enough engorged dicks to last a lifetime. I’d witnessed any kind of creature fucking that you could imagine, and some you couldn’t.

But the sight in front of me was brand new.

A blob alien with a cock the size of my arm, and a body covered in tiny tentacles like a fern, was fucking another blob-like female. They looked like two mounds of jell-o slapping together.

“What is this again?” whispered Mei, watching the blobs with something akin to horror. If Mei was letting her emotions show on her face, then she was truly affected by what was going on. By now, we’d all learned to mask our feelings as much as we could. Aliens liked that about humans—the visible emotions. Generally, we humans did not want to be liked.

“It’s some sort of royalty mating ritual,” I whispered back. “Apparently, they need a lot of witnesses.”

“But we don’t have to take part in it, right?”

I shook my head firmly. There was no way I was taking part in this.

As if I had any choice in the matter.

If they wanted me to, I’d have to do it. Or I’d die.

In the past three years since I’d been kidnapped, I’d hadn’t gotten used to the fact that I didn’t really have any option. My preferences didn’t matter. I was there to make money for the pleasure planet ruler, Bardoa, and not much else.

But I still had hope. Hope that I might be able to make it out of here one day. I don’t know why, considering the one time we’d tried to escape, it had ended horribly.

  Very horribly.

I blocked off that dark memory from my mind before it completely took over. I didn’t want to go down that path of self-destruction again. For now, it was about surviving. If I could focus on surviving, that was something doable. Escaping seemed impossible. But if I let myself dwell on that fact, I would go insane.

The giant alien blob began to shudder violently, and both creatures glowed a radioactive yellow. A high keening noise shook the tent.

“Do you think this means they are finished?” I asked Mei.

“I hope so. I threw up in my mouth a little while watching this.” Mei averted her gaze as the blob aliens uncoupled from each other, spewing yellow guck everywhere. It appeared they were done, and we were ushered out of the tent and taken back to the women’s quarters.

The sun was high in the sky, signalling it was late afternoon. I’d given up trying to calculate time here, because it didn’t seem like aliens believed in things like clocks. Once I figured out the sun, I got some semblance of when, and it gave me a little comfort.

With a pang, I remembered waking up to my alarm clock every morning to meet my co-worker, Mel, at spin class. I never thought I would miss my alarm, but I was a creature of habit, and that was hell if you ended up in a place where you had no control over your day at all.

Here, I had to go where I was told, and I always did.

  With one exception.

I hoped I wasn’t chosen by an alien male tonight, because then I would visit that exception instead.

Back in the women’s quarters, Mei and I went over to the only other human woman, Kat. She was sitting by herself in the far corner of the tent. As the other females loved being here, we were kind of ostracised for our hatred of it.

I get it, it could be much worse. Some of the aliens were born and trained to be a sex slave, and getting matched to the Stryxx pleasure planet was like a gift from God to them. But everything was relative.

“How the hell did you get out of having to watch that?” Mei asked as she collapsed on a fluffy chair beside Kat. “It was the grossest thing I’ve ever seen.”

“Really? Grosser than that Groyalax female who fucked herself with all four of her limbs?” Kat shuddered.

“Yes.” I sat down beside Kat. “There was so much goo. Honestly, it was like the consistency of phlegm.” I made a face.

“Ugh.” Kat made a gagging noise. “Please do not describe it any further. I’d rather not lose my lunch today.”

Mei didn’t listen, and instead launched into a detailed account of the event, right down to the pulsing, throbbing, goo dick.

“Stop!” squealed Kat as she hit Mei repeatedly on the shoulder.

A shadow fell over us, and I looked up to find Clio, the blue, four-eyed alien who oversaw the females in the luxury gardens, the section of the pleasure planet we lived in. Clio wasn’t bad, once you got used to her. She had a patent dislike for humans but had warmed up to us after the escape attempt a few years ago. Maybe she felt bad that we had to watch all our friends be executed in a gladiator pit. We tended to steer clear of Clio, and she generally avoided us. Her seeking us out wasn’t a good thing.

“Humans,” she said, with a curl of her dark blue lip, revealing black shark-like teeth. Kat and Mei immediately sobered.

“Yes, Clio? What do you need from us?” I stood in front of the other girls. It was instinctual by now. I could take it, whatever it was. I knew Mei and Kat were strong too and had survived just as much as me to be here, but for some reason, my instinct to protect them was still there.

“I’ll need all three of you for this,” Clio said, looking us over.

Oh shit. I didn’t like the sound of that.

Clio beckoned us to come with her, and we followed. I shot a glance at Kat. Her lips were bowed in a frown. Could someone have bought all three of us to have sex with? We hadn’t been bought as a team before, so this was new. I gathered we were so expensive that even one of us was enough to break the bank for the richest of alien dudes. Someone who could afford all three of us? I didn’t want to meet who that was. They certainly wouldn’t abide by any rules.

Instead of walking towards the patron tents, Clio led us to the edge of the pleasure gardens, where the transport containers were.

I stopped and Mei bumped into the back of me. “Are we being taken somewhere?” Panic rose up like bile, and everything in my body told me to run.

What if we were being sent to another pleasure planet, one where females weren’t treated half so well?

The other aliens always talked about them, telling us we were lucky we’d ended up here. But I’d never felt lucky. Now? I wasn’t going to trade this prison for a worse one.

Especially since that would take me away from the one person that had gotten me through all this.

My fears were immediately relieved w
ith a wave of Clio’s hand. “No. You aren’t being taken from here.” She smiled, an unpleasant grimace, and kept walking. “We have a surprise for you.” She threw open the flap of a plain white tent.

A group of human women stared back at us, bleary-eyed and terrified.

“There. Aren’t you happy? More of your kind,” Clio said, gesturing to the women.

“Oh fuck,” said Kat, looking around the tent.

  Exactly my thoughts.

  Chapter Two

  Otun

I paced around my sparse quarters like a hungry beast, waiting for scraps. Except my food, my craving, my satiation, was not food, it was a female.

  A particular human female.

I’d had no word from Nisha yet, and it was driving me feral.

I’d been waiting hours to hear from her. Usually she sent me a note, or a message through one of the guards, to let me know she was coming, that she was okay. I tried to remind myself this had occurred before and she’d been fine. Neither of us had control over what happened to her. The thought had me nearly clawing my own skin off more than once.

I had to get her out of here.

Every day, I thought of escape.

Which wasn’t unusual, but since I had met Nisha, I had more to risk. Before, I only worried about getting myself out, not caring if I died in the attempt because even death was better than slavery. But now, I would do anything to make sure Nisha lived, that she was safe.

She wasn’t any of those things if she stayed on this planet. Every day she was here was at risk. And I knew the life cycle of a female on a pleasure planet, even one as esteemed as Stryxx, was short.

If I had anything to say about it, Nisha would live a long, happy life.

The problem was, I was a slave as much as she was. Neither of us had any agency.

I slammed my fist into the wall of my room, the solid stone immoveable as the invisible chains around our necks.

I had to think of something. If I only had access to a ship, I could fly us out of here. If my father had taught me anything before he was murdered, it was how to fly. I closed my eyes briefly as my last memories of him washed over me, the image of him giving his life for mine.

All so I could end up enslaved by his very murderers.

I gritted my teeth so hard my fangs bit into my lower lip and I tasted blood.

Good. Blood would remind me of what I could lose if I sat around here doing nothing. Except it wouldn’t be my blood that would be spilled, it would be Nisha’s.

I’d thought through all the options for escape. The ship docking area wasn’t heavily guarded, but even if I could get access to it, we’d need a ship that was familiar enough to me, and be able to disable the locks Bardoa placed on all the ships who visited Stryxx. That required a perfect alignment of stars that just hadn’t happened yet. It would just be Nisha and I, and it wasn’t as if she was an experienced fighter. I was skilled enough to survive the brutal Stryxx guard training, but one Kenari warrior against hundreds of Stryxx guards would not survive long.

  We’d be dead in seconds.

  If Nisha wasn’t already.

I had to get out of my room. This was driving me mad.

I nearly ripped the door off its hinges in my urgency to exit the room. A good fight was what I needed to occupy myself, and I knew where I could find one.

I made my way to the guard pleasure house at the other end of the building that housed the Stryxx guards. Bardoa believed guards would be more loyal to you if they were allowed to fuck and fight as much as they wanted, so he gave us our own pleasure house. Likely, he was right. But no matter what indulgences he gave us, we were still slaves. I knew what it felt like to be free and I wanted to taste that again.

I weaved my way through the pleasure house, heading towards the bottom level where the guard fighting rings were.

A small hand gripped my forearm, and I whipped around immediately, hopeful for Nisha’s quiet smile and curvy human body. But it wasn’t her, it was another female from a species I didn’t recognize. She was slender and violently purple, with tiny eyeballs located at random on her skin. They all blinked at me in unison.

“Guard. I should like to be fucked by you,” she said, with calm confidence. I understood it, most guards on Stryxx jumped on any female that requested them to.

But I wasn’t one of them. I’d not lain with another female since meeting Nisha.

I shook my head, and tried to extricate my arm from her grasp, but she held me firmly.

“Shy, guard? Why don’t you remove your helmet and show me what kind of being you are? I have a list of all those I’ve been fucked by, and I’ve yet to be with a male as large as you.” She sidled her spindly body next to mine, and I felt each eyeball against the fur of my leg.

I lifted each of her fingers off my arm. “I plan to fight in the guard ring this evening. I am unavailable.” I moved away from her before she could respond and tried my best to avoid any other females looking for a male at the pleasure house. The females on Stryxx often came here to find release, especially from males with whom they felt more familiar, or who had an obligation to protect them. Many of them were under the influence of lansian root tea, the permanent aphrodisiac that caused them unending sexual need. More than once I’d had to reject the advances of a desperate female wanting to couple with any male willing.

The sounds of shouts and crunch of bone reached my ears long before I got there. The pungent smell of sweat and metallic tang of blood filled the air.

I rounded the corner and the chaos enveloped me. Fights were everywhere, surrounded by a ring of onlookers who were betting, roaring and cheering. The ground was filthy, the dirt splattered with blood and vomit.

This is exactly where I wanted to be.

I made my way over to the closest fighting ring I saw. Wit was running it, one of the smaller guards who usually worked in the pleasure gardens. He was taking bets on a match between a Rialefan male with black, twisted tusks, and a short male covered in blue, wiry hair. Wit saw me and his eyes widened.

“Otun!” he called out and I went over to him. “You betting on the fights tonight? That’s not like you.”

“No, brother. I’m fighting in them. Put me in your next match.”

If I thought he was shocked at seeing me there, his eyes nearly bulged out of his bald head at my words.

“You haven’t fought in the fighting rings in seasons.” He seemed suspicious.

I held my hands up. “Put me in. I do not jest.”

He shook his head, still bemused. Then he turned to watch the match behind him, where the blue beast was pummeling the Rialefan male into the ground. “This one’s almost done anyway.” He looked me up and down. “I don’t know if I have anyone that can match you.”

I was already pulling my helmet off and securing my mane at the base of my neck.

“Find someone,” I said, with a growl. “I’ll fight anyone. I’m not picky.”

He called out to the crowd behind him. “Grufeld! I have a fighter for you. Finally!”

The crowd quieted a little and I turned to see who Wit addressed. I didn’t know any guard named Grufeld.

A large male rose above the crowd, stomping forward. He was nearly nude, with only a small scrap of fabric acting as a loincloth. He had mangled features, as if he had been punched too many times and his nose and eyes had never healed properly. He was easily a head taller than I was, and two hand widths broader, which was rare as I was usually the biggest male guard on Stryxx.

No matter, I would make sure to add some more broken bones and destroy his face further.

We both stepped into the ring. The battered male immediately lunged at me, like I knew he would. I side-stepped him deftly, and he lost his balance. I pivoted around him, jabbing a punch into his lower back, and twisted my knuckles into the soft flesh. The enormous male howled and landed on his knee, swiping backwards at me.

Big males tended to do that—mistake size for power and underestimate the i
mportance of speed. Luckily, my father taught me when to use strength and when to evade. Stryxxian guard training couldn’t teach me in fifteen years what my father had taught me in only nine. That wasn’t just about surviving. My father had taught me to succeed.

Grufeld lumbered to his feet and spun to face me, his face a broken, warped mask of anger.

Good. If he let anger rule him, I could best him faster.

He charged at me, and I swiped my fist upward, slamming it into the underside of his chin. Grufeld careened to the side, managing to catch me with his great arm on the way down. I wasn’t expecting the hit, and I lost my footing. He took advantage of my slip up and was on me in a heartbeat, rolling on top of me with surprising swiftness. It seemed he’d learned his lesson.

Apparently, I hadn’t learned mine. For all of my skills, I was still cocky, and I still let him get the upper hand. He pummeled me with his meaty fists and managed to land a few hits until I blocked the rest of his blows. A spray of something hit my face and a sharp pain shot through my lip. I heaved to the side, unseating him and dumping him on the floor of the ring.

  My turn.

I knocked my fists into the side of his head, and then his nose, smiling for a moment at the satisfying crunch. This was why I was here—this was the violent release I craved. If I couldn’t free Nisha, I would do this. Because in this ring, at this moment, I had the power. I had the control. I could make choices for myself and influence the outcome. I could rage against Stryxx, Bardoa, pleasure planets—everything that kept me from being able to walk free, and everything that kept Nisha enslaved to this place.
