Wicked Little Thing Page 9

by McDonald, Chelsea

Even though Tammy and I are still as close as can be, while on maternity leave I’ve been spending a lot of time with Angel and Tanzie. Angel is outspoken and fierce, and scary but she’s also been the most accepting of me.

When she first asked to plan our wedding reception, I was stunned because on the surface she doesn’t seem the type for parties and flowers, and girlie things in general. I think this may have been her experimenting and warming to her more maternal side.

“I think she was more excited to hear we decided to announce the gender tonight.”

“Really? Why?” The confused twist of Tyler’s face isn’t a shock.

“It’s a girl thing, I guess. Sometimes babies bring out our true desires.”

“Hmm.” He hums like he understands but I have the strong sensation that he has no idea what I’m talking about.

Maybe it’s a girl thing, or maybe it’s the longing stares I’ve received from Angel recently. I’m not sure what she’s thinking but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if she were the next to make an announcement. No matter how she truly feels I know that she won’t be the only one excited to meet our baby boy.
