Jewel’s eyes moved to Matt and he answered, “I called a while ago, but they don’t have the SOB in custody. They said they took a good set of prints from the knife and they’re having the DNA checked too.” He crossed over to Jewel and brought her in close for a hug.
She knew she looked like a forlorn puppy dog, but Matt’s comfort helped her feel safe.
“So I guess you forgave these two numbnuts?” said Angela.
“Hey, leave my nuts out of this.” Stephon pulled Jewel from Matt’s arms and kissed the top of her head.
Why she thought they’d act like nothing was going on between the three of them was probably silly, but she felt heat rise in her cheeks.
“Now you’re embarrassing her. Come on.” Angela took her hand. “Meet Wade. He’s slightly less degenerate than the other guys and he holds the band together.”
“I’m Krispin’s assistant.” His low voice sounded more formal than she expected.
“And the band’s PR person, comfort specialist, and procurement expert extraordinaire,” Krispin said while giving Wade a heavy pat on the back. “He makes our life easier all the way around. Do you by any chance have a younger sister, Jewel? He might not be so grouchy if we could hook him up with a sweet young thing.”
Jewel smiled at Wade. “Sorry, you’re off the hook. I don’t have a sister younger or older.”
“Thank God. Nothing personal, but the last woman they hooked me up with had a fire fetish and my eyelashes got singed.”
It took Jewel a moment for the shock of his words to sink in and then she started laughing, completely unmindful of how it made her face ache.
“Come on and let’s sit down.” Angela hadn’t let go of her hand and drew her over to the couch.
When Jewel went to sit down, Stephon’s warm hand went to the back of her neck. “I don’t think so. You’re sitting with me.”
Jewel released Angela’s hand and followed Stephon a few feet to one of the large plush chairs. Looking around, she saw Matt coming over and regretted that the chair was too small for both large men. Stephon pulled her into his lap and Matt took a seat on the floor and put his head slightly back against her waist. Her hand came down and he took it in his warm grasp. She breathed out a sigh of relief. They made the threesome thing work seamlessly.
Everyone sat down, Angela beside Krispin on the couch with her head resting on his shoulder.
Wade sat on the other end of the couch. “Dinner will be here shortly.”
Angela looked at Jewel. “Besides your fantastic muffins, do you cook?”
“The guys are bragging about my muffins again?” Jewel loved the feel of Stephon’s hand rubbing up and down her arm and she jumped slightly when he pinched her.
“Of course we brag about your muffins. Angela cooks and we wanted her to know she might have help when we take you back to California.”
“You’re pretty sure of yourself, but you forget I have a job.”
“We’re more than happy to pay you to wait on us, so don’t worry about it.” Matt winked and at the same time found the bottom of her pant leg and ran his hand up past her ankle, gently grabbing the back of her calf.
If she didn’t ignore their hands, she was going to embarrass herself. Taking a calming breath, she looked at Angela. “Baking is my specialty, but I love to cook. Starla, the owner of the diner where I work, often talks about me taking over the business when she retires. I’ve never been sure if I wanted the responsibility, but sometimes I’d like to kick George, our cook, out of the kitchen and try a few recipes.”
“Even if you don’t stay in California, I know you’ll visit. Cooking for the entire band is like having a restaurant and it would be nice to have some help. I send Krispin as far away from the kitchen as I can.”
“That’s because you’re a smart lady.” Krispin kissed his wife’s forehead.
Dinner arrived and they spread out around the large dining table. Eating with them this time almost seemed normal. The only problem during the evening was when Angela quietly asked her about the fit of the bras she’d had sent up. Her pulse accelerated because Matt and Stephon lied to her, but Angela only laughed when Jewel told her.
“Like most men, they’re totally devious. I’m not wearing a bra, and I think we should enjoy our youth before babies make us sag.”
Krispin’s hands came around his wife and took hold of both her breasts. “I can’t wait for these to fill with milk for our child. I’ll remember that picture when they start sagging later.”
Angela didn’t even blush. She seemed to have no problem with her husband’s intimate touch on her breasts even with the other men in the room. Jewel felt very unworldly, but hoped she would eventually let her inhibitions down.
After dinner, they all sat back down on the couch and chairs talking and laughing. Slowly a comfortable feeling settled over her. Throughout the evening, Matt and Stephon touched her at odd times and she constantly felt their eyes on her. It was strange, incredible, and scary as hell. And the thought of them being gone for three days was devastating. Even before she knew Stephon was part of their dynamic, she had had trouble thinking about Matt leaving for a long weekend. She knew she was in way over her head.
Chapter Twenty-one
Matt
The evening went better than he’d hoped. Matt knew Krispin’s movie star persona could be overwhelming, but Jewel seemed more relaxed as the evening progressed. He eventually noticed her eyelashes drooping and called it a night. She’d taken a small nap, but he knew nine at night was late for her. The band needed to be at their private plane by six the next morning. The roadies would be on site when they arrived at their first venue, and the band would have a short practice session to check the equipment.
Matt shut the door on their guests and was glad to see Jewel standing wrapped in Stephon’s arms. “Let’s get you ready for bed.”
“I like the sound of that,” Stephon said, nibbling her ear for a moment before releasing her.
“Where am I sleeping?”
The two men looked at each other. Matt spoke, “It’s entirely up to you. There are two rooms and you can have a bed to yourself if you want it.” He tried to keep the longing to hold her all night out of his voice.
“You’ll both sleep together in the other bed?”
Stephon gave his best sizzling smile. “Are you jealous?”
“Maybe,” she said quietly.
Matt gave Stephon the “knock it off” signal with his eyes. “We won’t be doing anything but sleeping.”
She looked back and forth. “What are my other options?”
“They all include sleep, but I’m willing to let you spend the night with Matt or you can sleep with both of us.”
Stephon had more gallantry than Matt. There was no way in hell she was sleeping with Stephon without him there, but he kept his thoughts to himself and waited for her answer.
“I think I want to sleep with both of you.”
As corny as it sounded, butterflies fluttered through Matt’s stomach. “You’re keeping at least a nightshirt on.” His voice softened, “Let’s go, baby. You’re ready to drop.”
“I don’t know why I’m so exhausted.” Her sleepy reply ended in a yawn.
Stephon scooped her up and started walking into the bedroom. “It’s past your bedtime and you’ve been through a lot of physical and emotional chaos today. Do you want a shower?”
“I’m too tired.”
He sat her on the bed and then moved to the dresser and pulled out a black t-shirt. He walked back over and started tugging her top up and over her head.
“What are you doing?” She tried to bat his hands away.
“I’m getting you ready for bed. Come on, Matt, and help me out here.”
“I’m more than able to change by myself.”
“There’s not nearly as much fun in that.” Matt lifted her arms so Stephon could raise her shirt.
“Argh, I don’t have a bra on you numbskulls.” It did no good to resis
t. The shirt was off and the soft t-shirt slid over her head. Stephon’s hands went to the waist of her pants and started sliding them down her legs. Matt brought her hands to his chest and examined the bandage on her elbow.
“This needs to be changed, along with the ones on your knees.” When her pants pooled on the floor, Matt released her and walked into the bathroom.
Matt felt his cock thicken when he walked back into the room. Stephon was kneeling between her thighs, and by the flush to her face he had a feeling his friend was up to no good.
Matt fought to keep his voice level, “You get her knees, and I’ll fix her arm.” His cock thickened even more at the sight of her as she lay back on the bed. He had to remember that sex wasn’t happening tonight. After resting the supplies next to her, he shifted his erection into a more comfortable position.
Stephon began peeling the tape from first one scrape and then the other while Matt tackled her elbow. He knew removing the tape stung a little, but she didn’t make a sound. They applied ointment and then bandaged her up again. Matt watched as Stephon gently kissed one padded knee and then the other.
“Sleeping together may not be a good idea,” Matt groaned deeply.
Stephon stopped and looked up. “Speak for yourself. I’m just making her all better.”
“I want to talk about my bras.”
Stephon’s smile tipped down slightly and he gave her a leer. “You caught us.”
Matt’s hands captured her breasts through the t-shirt and he spoke barely above a whisper directly into her ear. “It’s a complete shame to cover these more than absolutely necessary. I like when they jiggle as you walk.” He jostled them up and down.
She looked at Stephon. “You’re both incorrigible.”
“Only him.” Stephon smirked. “I’m mostly keeping my hands to myself.”
“No, you’re not.” She said as his hand skimmed over her leg. “We’ll never get any sleep.”
Stephon stood up and reached for her hand. “Yes, we will. There’s a new toothbrush in the bathroom. We’ll wait while you get ready for bed.”
“Neither of you are going to say you’re sorry about my bras?”
“We’re not sorry,” they said at the same time.
She huffed into the bathroom and closed the door.
“Let’s use the other bathroom so we can get her to bed quicker. You know my dick will stay rock hard all night long.” Matt repositioned the erection in question.
Stephon followed. “I already plan on lying awake all night and thinking about scientific equations.”
Matt laughed. “You don’t know any scientific equations.”
“I know, but it’s the most boring thing I can think of. Who knows, maybe I’ll solve the mysteries of the universe.”
“Yes, please God, get the thought of her jiggling tits and rounded ass out of my mind.”
“Stop or I’ll pull you into a cold shower with me.”
“I don’t think my cock dipped in an ice bucket will help.”
They removed their shirts, cleaned up, and then walked back into the other room. She was in the middle of the bed staring at them with huge, watchful eyes.
“Having second thoughts?” Matt had to ask.
“No.”
“Little liar.” Stephon began taking off his jeans.
“What are you doing?” She sat up.
“I don’t wear clothes to bed. You’re covered, so don’t worry about it.”
“How the hell do I not worry about it?”
Naked, he knelt with one knee on the bed and circled the back of her neck with his palm. “We can’t spank you now because of your injuries, but I have no problem keeping count of what you’ll get when we return.” His eyes stared intently into hers.
“What did I do?” she said in a tiny voice.
Matt could see fear mixed with her desire. He knelt on the other side of the bed. “Stephon’s a little pickier about bad language than I am.”
“You’re kidding. You both cuss.” Her tone elevated.
“Life’s not fair for you, love, but I’ll give you some time to grow accustomed to the rules.”
Her eyes widened even more. “There are rules?”
“Only a few, but we’ll go over them when we get back. Just think about this while we’re gone.” Stephon’s lips took hers.
Matt shucked his pants and then got comfortable on the bed and waited his turn. Usually he would be stimulating another part of her body, but not tonight. When the kiss ended, he didn’t give her a chance for more than a short gasp for air and took her mouth. When he lifted his head, she sat in stunned silence for a moment.
“That’s…um… kissing you both is a rule?”
Matt laughed over her confusion.
Stephon answered the question, “No, but we’ll always give your mouth something to do when you break a rule, even if it’s only screaming.”
She slid backward against the pillows. “I’m in so much trouble.”
Chapter Twenty-two
Jewel
The nightmare pulled her from sleep and she fought against the arms that held her.
“Shh, love. It’s okay.”
The bathroom light blinked on and she could see Matt standing in front of the door. Stephon held her tightly to his chest with one arm and ran his free hand through her hair. His fingers massaged her scalp and she managed to get her breathing under control.
“Sorry.”
Matt walked back across the room and sat beside her. “Don’t be. While we’re gone, let Angela sleep in here with you. No arguing.” He put two fingers on her lips when she started to protest. “We’ll never get any sleep over the weekend if we think you’re alone at night.”
She shook her head and drowsiness flooded her brain. Matt turned off the light and then she felt him slip back beneath the covers. His arms came over her and she snuggled her back further into Stephon so she could feel both men holding her at the same time. Feeling safe, she drifted back to sleep.
The phone woke them up. It was their wakeup call.
She couldn’t help her tears.
The nightstand light turned on and then she felt a gentle finger run over the contours of her face. “Don’t cry, love.” It was Stephon’s voice.
She felt the edge of the bed dip and Matt’s body move in close. She refused to ask them not to go. She had survived losing her father, mother, and fiancé. She could keep her head up and let them leave. She knew she could make it through the weekend, but she gave a very unladylike sniff.
“We don’t want to go either.” Matt always seemed to know what she was thinking.
She opened her eyes and squinted into the glare of the light. “I’ll be okay. I like Angela, and she’s promised to take me shopping for lots of bras.”
“Minx.” Matt nuzzled her neck and then she felt Stephon’s tongue run across her jaw.
“What time is it?” She barely managed to get the words out.
“Time for us to get ready. We need a shower,” Stephon said. “Do you mind making us some coffee?”
Both men stood. Stephon came around the bed and began pulling out clothes from the dresser. It was the first time she saw them both naked at once. Their large erections made her thighs quiver and it was impossible to hold back a moan. They were doing this on purpose and Matt’s grin proved it. She pulled the covers over her head. “I’ll get the coffee ready when you’re both in the shower.”
Deep male laughter trailed away when Stephon closed the bathroom door and Matt left the room to take advantage of the other bathroom. She found the supplies she needed in the kitchen, which was bigger than the one in her apartment. She added a bit of cream and sugar to her cup and had no trouble remembering they liked theirs plain.
Matt walked in first. He wore black jeans and a skintight tank top with large clunky black boots. Silver chains fell from beneath the end of the shirt and circled up and back underneath. His ink was striking and only added to his entire ensemble. She realized this wa
s his hard rock facade. It finally hit her that he belonged to a world-famous band and was used to more decadence in one day than she probably experienced in her entire lifetime.
She hadn’t realized he moved closer until he tipped her chin up and kissed her bruised cheek. “What’s wrong?” His husky voice sent an electrical current along her skin.
She smiled into his eyes. “I’ll miss you.” Warmth pressed against her back.
“Will you miss me too?” Stephon’s voice was just as husky, just as sexy.
“Every other minute.”
There was a knock at the door and Stephon moved away, causing cool air to float across the back of her t-shirt.
Angela and Krispin walked in. “It’s time to get out of here. The cars are waiting. Wade is grumpy and told us to get the two of you down there ASAP.” Krispin sounded just as grumpy as Wade.
Matt tilted her face up and placed a quick kiss on her lips. “We don’t want to be on Wade’s bad side or the entire trip will be a nightmare.”
She laughed and then yelped when Stephon suddenly tugged on her hand and brought her around to face him. He didn’t give her a chance to protest, just gave her a quick, thorough kiss.
Her voice was shaky, “What about your coffee?”
“We’ll grab it on the plane. Sorry, but Angela will join you. Later, love.” Stephon put his arm around Matt and steered him toward Krispin, who stared longingly at his wife. Stephon pulled both men out the door and then Angela walked over and took her hand.
“We’ll eat chocolate, shop, and console each other until they’re back. It’s the first time I’ve been away from Krispin since we became an item.”
Jewel looked away from the door. “I’m so sorry. Go with them. I’ll be okay.”
“Nonsense. Just think of the great sex I’ll have when he gets back. Those quick tours are hell. I’m actually glad to stay behind, though I’ll miss him. Like I said, we’ll keep busy and have some fun. Lydia is getting you into the club tonight, so we need to buy you something to wear.”
“The club?”
