Blood Legion: Adamantine Chronicles Book Two Page 19

by D. R. Rosier

While I didn’t love Tina and Carol yet, not really, not like I deliriously and completely loved my Alyssa, I cared for them a great deal, respected and admired them, and they filled my heart in other ways. Love wouldn’t be far behind, and I already knew I’d do anything for the three of them.

It would be complicated, one on one intimacy for each of them over three nights a week, and four other days where we were all together. That was a serious time commitment to maintain a relationship with three women, and I really couldn’t wait.

  Chapter Fifteen

Tuesday morning came bright and early, we shared some kisses, and some caresses before we got up, but otherwise we were still rather sated from the previous afternoon and night. Even Tina and I exchanged kisses, on my shoulder and her head anyway, and I knew it was safe enough to caress her body just about anywhere with a light touch.

We were mostly silent though, until we were about half done with our workout. The adrenaline, pounding hearts, and effort had us wide awake by then.

Tina said, “I think we should all patrol together, the next few days. Our days off are Friday and Saturday, then Sunday and Monday. We all patrol Tuesday through Thursday anyway, so it makes sense to do it together at least this week, although I wouldn’t mind doing it every week.”

I couldn’t argue with that either, it’d be nice to patrol with all three of them, even if we had to be professional the whole time, it’d be spending time with them. I also understood what she meant by at least this week, because that way if we were ambushed by the Blood Legion, at least we’d be all together already, and not have to desperately hold them off while the other two were called in.

“I vote for the always option. Tina and Carol can take the ground, Alyssa and I can provide cover from the air, and it will give us practice for fighting as our full team, outside of major emergencies.”

Alyssa nodded, and said playfully, “Our man is wise,” then she blushed as she remembered the bugs, and cleared her throat, “Anyway, I can shield Red Siren and the three Myriads when we start our patrol. A bit paranoid maybe, but the Blood Legion almost kicked our asses, I don’t want to give them an opening.”

Carol agreed, “Good plan, everyone. I’m on board. Although, you can only shield me, I can only split for three hours. Unless you want to re-shield them every two hours or so?”

Alyssa tilted her head, “Can you stagger them? Absorb one, split, absorb the other, split?”

  Carol nodded, “Yes.”

Alyssa said, “We’ll do that then, just in case they decide to attack us at our most vulnerable. That way we have two shielded Myriads at all times.”

Tina smirked, “Yes, two of them can do amazing things.”

I choked on a laugh, along with a nice visual of yesterday afternoon, which got Tina to wink at me.

Who was this woman, and where was the angry closed off woman I knew? I guessed I had won her trust finally, along with that admiration, and we truly were just limited in our physical intimacy. There was even a look of desire in her eyes as she looked at me, it gave me hope for the future, but I wasn’t holding my breath either. PTSD triggers were a thing after all, no matter how good it looked, I knew a simple and sweet kiss from me could destroy her.

Alyssa blushed again when her mind caught up, and Carol just tossed her hair playfully, with one of her signature twitching and shy smiles.

My eyes were also in heaven, since of course, I was working out with three incredibly sexy women, who were at that point all mine, even as they were each other’s. Wandering eyes counted for other women at that point, but not for any of them, and I got to enjoy the morning eye candy of their scantily clad bodies in Lycra shorts, yoga pants, and tight shirts.

It was almost absurd, and I wondered at the psychology of it. I wasn’t even a half an hour ago that I was lying naked with them in bed, touching all their bodies, and for some reason their teasingly clothed bodies turned me on and made me desire to see what they were hiding.

After our workout, we enjoyed breakfast together, and then something else changed. Tina joined my and Carol’s sparring workout, and she was almost as good as Carol. Her fighting was more floatingly graceful than predatory, but she was very good at dodging and avoiding attacks. Which was what she had to do when facing an energy super that could shield from her influence. It was an open free for all between the three of us, but we also swapped around partners to give a little more of an intense workout for a short time for one of us.

It felt really good, to see Tina truly joining us. I was sure it wouldn’t be all smooth sailing, our relationship would have issues, and would be complicated as hell. But… we’d probably be pretty close to perfect for a long while, we had that whole honeymoon phase going, and I didn’t even love two of them yet, not really, so that would get even stronger shortly. Point being, I thought we could lay down a solid foundation before that honeymoon phase went away, just like any relationship, I doubted our first true test would come for months.

Despite that, I was optimistic as hell about it. The bonds we formed, as superheroes on a team, and as lovers in a bed and emotional support, would all be strong.

After sparring, we talked it over with the boss, and Millicent was all for our plan and patrolling together. We weren’t sure when the Blood Legion would attack again, but we knew it’d be soon. My new power core was less than third full, but it was already forty times my own capacity for power.

  Good enough.

Despite our preparations, the enemy had hardly been idle, and had been making their own plans. Who said supervillains don’t work well together? Apparently, that only went for ones that weren’t families. It was our second hour into our patrol when they made the move that shouldn’t have taken any of us by surprise, yet it did.

Jenna announced over the earbuds, “It looks like Blood Legion found their backup, they just broke into the supermax right outside of the city.”

I sighed, “We’re on our way.”

Alyssa and I landed quickly, and I gathered up Tina and one of the copies, while Myriad and the second copy was picked up by Alyssa, and we shot into the air and headed west out of the city, to the Silver City supermax. Which was technically outside of the city limits, out in the desert.

“We’re on route, two minutes, any idea who they broke out?”

Jenna sighed, “It’s still in progress, but from what I can tell, several of the supervillains chose to use the opportunity to run. So far, the only ones that have stuck around are Mindwave, Singularity, Bash, and Sissy.”

Well, shit. We were so screwed. Although, with my new power throughput and reserves…

“Alright, Siren, turn bash, at least he’s unshielded, and he hits like two A-class at once. After that, I’ve got nothing, there are far too many priority targets.”

At least I didn’t have to worry about Singularity or Sissy killing the love of my life, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t go after the others with gravity. Sissy was probably the biggest danger there, and that was saying a lot considering the reception we were about to meet.

I felt a cold chill, as for just a second, a single moment in time, I considered using my last resort weapon and just slicing them all in half with a sweeping attack, no shield of this universe could block that weapon, but I shuddered away from that idea, and pushed it down. There had to be another way. Plus, all four of us were there this time, that would make a huge difference.

White Witch said, “I’ll take Sissy and Singularity out, both of them will come after me anyway, the former for revenge, the latter out of some sick desire for the bragging rights of taking out the most powerful meta on the planet. I’ll use the short ice spell, and I’ll have them both down before they can wonder what went wrong.”

Red Siren interjected, “I’ll send bash after the Flame of Blood Legion, and he’ll try to get through her shields. She’ll take Bash down, and I’ll change my focus to her directly.”

I sighed, “I’ll go after Stone with my rail gun
, and go after Mindwave with my cold ray. We already know she can’t block that one, like the plasma.”

Myriad said, “I’ll go after Stone, Flame, and Mindwave, with our Witch’s shields, none of them will be able to stop me from closing. Then we’ll adjust based on what happens.”

It was a hastily assembled plan, but it’d have to do, because we were there. I swooped down and dropped off both ladies with extended gravity fields as gently as laying down a feather, and then swooped back up at over two hundred miles an hour.

We didn’t bother with the pre-fight banter. These assholes were killers, and wanted to take over a city, they weren’t there for the challenge or thrill of it.

As Red Siren’s mesmerizing voice rose, and I heard White Witch start her chant, I started to unload my rail gun at Stone, and a cold ray seven times more powerful than the last time I’d faced Mindwave shot out of my right gauntlet, and the insane ex-hero screamed. At least I didn’t have to look at her overly lush body, nipples, and huge camel-toe that time, she was wearing a prison orange jumpsuit.

Stone didn’t do much better, as his body went flying back, and my target tracking followed him as I shot round after round at his ass.

Fire and Air hit me with combined attacks which I half assed dodged, and I let my shields absorb some damage so I could stay on target. I wouldn’t say I wasted the energy doing it, but clearly these assholes needed to go down fast and hard and I had more than enough for shielding with my new toy.

Just this one time, I’d let myself be a little sloppy, to take them down faster. I still felt bad about it though, energy conservation was one of the things I’d struggled with for so long, but it was obviously the right thing to do tactically.

A second septuple powered ice ray shot out a second later, as the seventh rail gun round’s speed was tweaked by Rose, lessening the shot in kinetic power to prevent a kill, and Stone hit the ground hard and stopped moving. I followed that up with a cuff spell, which thankfully I’d had the foresight to have in both gauntlets, as I charged up for my third and hopefully last hit to Mindwave.

Of course, that wasn’t necessary, as the predatorily graceful Myriad reached Mindwave in that moment, and violently took her down with a devastating kick. Damn, there was something wrong with me, because I found Carol’s graceful violence to be as distractingly sexy as Red Siren’s voice, or the aura of immense power around my goddess of magic.

They were each overwhelmingly beautiful, alluring distracting, and more than lovely to me in different ways. But that moment was hardly the time to get distracted.

I shot a cuff spell down to finish Mindwave.

At the same time all of that had happened, Alyssa had been right. Singularity sent a sucking vortex her way, and Sissy was obviously trying to crush her to death. That was a good thing, because it would’ve gotten very ugly if she’d tried to do that to Red Siren or Myriad. White Witch finished her chant, and an ice storm surged out of her hand, and twisted around them both.

Sissy exploded in fire, trying to shield herself, but she was no match for the power of the White Witch, which battered down her shields, extinguished her fire, and put the crazy bitch down. Singularity struggled even less as he went down, and I followed up on her attack and cuffed them both.

Red Siren had hardly been idle, and as I glanced over, I shot another cuff spell, Bash was already unconscious, his body smoking slightly and lying at Fire mom’s feet. He was still alive though, according to my scanner, and his arms and legs snapped together as the cuff spell took effect.

That was five down, four to go. Fire and Air were both fighting a Myriad, and the third Myriad was running for Nature. Water was fighting off Siren’s song and trying to knock Myriad away from Fire and Air, but with the shields there his attacks were less than effective. White Witch’s shields completely absorbed kinetic energy, so Myriad wasn’t even being knocked away.

White Witch started to chant again.

Fire called out, and Water answered, and I feared they were about to try and put out cover to retreat again. Despite our worries, thanks to my lover’s shields, my increased power and my gravity shield enchantment, and all four of us being there we were kicking their asses faster than I’d believed possible.

According to my scanners, Fire’s shield was lower, with Myriad kicking her ass, so I lifted my left gauntlet and very carefully fired off a railgun round. I wasn’t that worried about hitting Myriad on accident, because of her shield courtesy of White Witch, but that could really mess up the fight.

My round took fire on the chest, and it knocked her back. Her plasma shot went wrong as a result, and it didn’t even come close to Water’s blast of ice.

Nature had managed to capture the Myriad after him, by surrounding her shield and all with vines.

I laughed a little evilly, as I put my faith in Alyssa’s shield, and nailed Myriad with a plasma blast. Liquid white fire exploded around her shields, and it consumed all the vines and turned them to ash in a split second. A second later, Myriad’s foot met Nature’s face, her legs were really sexy.

I turned back as Fire went down under Myriad’s powerful and continued assault, and I shot another cuff spell. Three to go.

White Witch finished casting. The Earth shook, and the dirt and sand of the desert rose up in a swirling funnel that surrounded Air. The Myriad fighting him saw the impending sign of his doom, and took off to the right, straight for Nature to double team him, as more and more dirt, clay, and sand rose from the ground and beat at Air’s shield. It wasn’t long before it was an intensely powerful twister, that ablated Air’s shield with both solid earth, and magic.

Air screamed as his shields went down in seconds, and all at once the spell collapsed and unraveled, as Air fell to the ground. I figured then Alyssa must work in a no kill sensor into all her spells, kind of like I used my sensors, it was the only way that’d work. I cuffed his ass with the spell, and I was so turned on by Alyssa in that moment I couldn’t think straight. If all our fights went this way, I knew how we’d be celebrating after them.

My heart pounded, as I watched the Myriads spin, kick, punch, and perform exceptionally acrobatic and flexible feats as they beat down Water and Nature, the last two that remained standing.

Sure… I could have helped, but it was far more fun to watch her kick ass, not to mention extremely erotic to me, for some twisted reason inside of me that I decided not to investigate. Although, maybe it wasn’t just me her violent and graceful fighting style had an effect on, since I didn’t hear Red Siren’s incredibly dulcet tones, or the White Witch’s sweet voice chanting a spell either.

Damn ladies were perverts, enjoying the show like that, and not helping.

A few moments later, I put them both down with the cuff spell. I wanted the ladies right then, badly, but of course we had some cleanup to do, and a debriefing, before we could get to it. I was sure they were all onboard, I could see it in their eyes, I wasn’t the only one turned on by a good fight, apparently.

We did wind up in bed, not an hour later. I wasn’t sure what would happen next. I had to finish my armor and Rose’s body. I also needed to fall in love with two of my ladies, which was by far going to be the more pleasant and easy task. Both Tina and Carol were breathtaking in their own ways.

Last but not least, I needed to stay alert, and be ready for anything. The government was about to fall apart and panic, supervillains ruled in major cities across the world, perhaps getting the idea from the third world countries being run by super gangs. Things were hardly stable in our world at the moment.

If Oracle was right, and he always was, I was about to have the future of all supers in my hands, somehow. It was a frightening thought, but I took comfort in my three ladies, and the love both emotional and physical that they provided. They were all truly special in their own way, amazing women, any of which I’d have been honored to spend my life with. Though, if alone, I’d have just stayed with Alyssa.

It was a hell of a life, and the fo
ur of us were off to a hell of a start. The future was ours to make, and from where I sat it was going to be a hell of a good one, at least personally.

  Afterword:

I hope you enjoyed the story. I think this is the most angst I’ve written into relationships, hopefully you all enjoyed it and found the depth made the romance even more believable than my past works, while still being lighthearted enough to be enjoyable. The third book will tie things up, as well as announce the series major threat which I’ve hinted at strongly in the first two books. Happy reading!

If you can, please take the time to leave a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads. Reviews are critically important for an author’s success, especially us independent ones. It doesn’t have to be long, or flowery, just a few honest words if you feel moved to do so. Thanks for reading!
