Lifestyle Mastery Boxed Set Page 27

by Scott Allan

If your idea seems impossible, that is good. People have built their dreams and visions on impossible ideas that the rest of the world deemed crazy and were later accepted. So…

  Put yourself out there.

Show the world what you’ve got.

If you feel good about what you are doing, do more of it.

  Key Takeaways

Test your ideas by asking yourself “would I buy this?

Ask your friends and family close by what they really think of your plan.

Reach out to people on social media sites that you regularly converse with and see what their feedback is. This can be a strong indicator that your idea is real.

Take a survey using survey monkey or another online free resource.

  CONCLUSION

  Take Control of Your Life

“Your destiny is to fulfill those things upon which you focus most intently. So, choose to keep your focus on that which is truly magnificent, beautiful, uplifting and joyful. Your life is always

  moving toward something.”

  — Ralph Marston

I hope you enjoyed The Discipline of Masters and you are already implementing the action steps described within. As someone who lives by strategies, I like to share the best of what I can with my readers and coaching students to give them the greatest edge in a competitive world that is becoming increasingly demanding.

To get everything you have ever dreamed of, you have to do the things you never dreamed of. This has always been my motto. So, in this last part of the book, I’ll leave you with a few final words.

  Take Bold, Massive Action

You have undoubtedly heard that to move the dial on anything in your life requires a certain amount of action from you. This could be a commitment to something you do every day, such as the habit of exercising for twenty minutes every morning. Or a commitment to work on your side business after you get home from work and put your kids to bed.

Gradually, after years of working, you make it. Massive action is total dedication to your mission. You decide when you will arrive at your destination instead of just letting the wind take you there. If you want to live a bold, fearless, freedom-rich lifestyle, you must be ready to take bold, massive action no matter what is going on in your life at the moment.

Turn Your Passion into a Creative Force

What do you feel such intense passion for that you would do anything to live like that every day? Imagine a life where you are your own master, you create what you want, and you share that creation with the people around you. How would your life change if you built this passion into your daily life, instead of trying to squeeze it into a busy lifestyle?

Passion is one of the greatest forces in the world because it can turn a good idea into a career. Passion is where dreams begin and boredom dies. Feeling bored with your life? You are not tapping into your passion. Frustrated, angry, or unsettled? That is good. These can be signs that you are seeking something greater.

  Make Your Decision NOW

From today, there is one truth you need to know: the greatest change in your life is the power and the freedom to make a decision. If you want to start building your passion, start by making a decision that launches everything.

Find similar people who share your passion and work together to build something that changes the world or changes a group of people who go onto do great things.

  Strive to Break Through Barriers

Remove your obstacles if you want this passion to grow. People are often held back by the problems, worry, and fears blocking growth. It is hard to live a passionate lifestyle when you are caught up in trivial issues. Refer back to section one for this.

Manage your actions and the rest will take care of itself. You don’t need a bunch of goals for this. Just one goal to reach for that is a goal so big it has the power to change your life.

  Be Thought Conscious

Your thoughts are powerful and govern your actions. So be aware of the critical thought processes you have. Are you in a situation where you are being negative? Does negative thinking pull you down? Do you meditate or practice any thought improvement exercises?

Now is the time to begin. Get moving on how to make things better. If things get better, how can you make them great? If everything is great, how you can make it fantastic? Then, go out and help someone else to do it.

As Zig Ziglar said, “If you help someone else get what they want, you will also get what you want.”

So, go out and do this thing. Master your strategies and make a dent in the universe.

Don’t wait for life to happen to you. Make it happen and bring the life you want toward you.

  INTRODUCTION

  The Beginning of a

  Journey

“The only impossible journey is the one you never begin.”

  — Tony Robbins

I don’t have many good memories of my academic years. In fact, I barely made it through school with enough of a grade to be called passing. Luckily for me, the bar wasn’t raised very high. It wasn’t that I didn’t like school; I just wasn’t interested in the courses they offered.

At the end of each academic year, we were tasked with the responsibility of choosing our courses for the next year. I remember asking the teacher if there was another course list to choose from. He just laughed as if I was trying to be funny and went back to marking papers.

I selected six courses, most of which I wasn’t interested in. I passed four of them that year. I wasn’t a good student. I had a poor attitude and didn’t believe academics were going to fix anything. So, I performed at the absolute minimum required to pass. Sometimes I made it and sometimes I didn’t. It was like that every year. Choose your courses from this list. What you see is what you get. You don’t like the choices? Tough. You’ll have to settle for what we have.

This is how we learn early in life to start settling for what people are offering instead of asking for what we want. But when we are forced to choose based on what is available, instead of asking for what we really want, we are being asked to settle for the options. And the options are rarely in our favor.

But I knew in those early days that I wanted more than what was available at the time.

I was always reminded of something John Lennon once said:

“When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.” They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life.”

I took the available classes because I had no choice. It was either that or go home. When I got to the final year, I was done with school. I had lots of interests, but I couldn’t find any of them in academic studies.

  When the choices we don’t
want are forced on us, we take one of two actions: Retaliate, or accept the situation as it is. When you settle for what you can get, you always end up coming up short in life.

To lead the master achievers lifestyle I talk about in this book, we must throw aside all our old habits that pull us back. We must start from the beginning of a new path and take things in a different direction.

  Breaking Free of Limitations

A lot of people settle for what’s out there instead of building a life and learning to level up as they go. They take the choices available instead of going after what they truly desire. They master jobs they hate and create habits that have no value.

People learn to succeed in things that are not important, which is really the same as failing as you go.

It wasn’t until much later that I realized why I had been floundering, drifting, and wasting time all those years.

I had no actionable blueprint for my life. I was drifting through, doing what was expected, and instead of raising the bar, I lowered it in everything I did. The lesson I learned in those days is, what you expect from yourself is what you will end up with in the end.

"There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed."

  — Ray Goforth

I wasn’t engaged in practicing the life lessons that could change everything. I had read lots of books over the years, but they were the wrong books. I had lots of knowledge that I couldn’t take action on. A life of settling for mediocrity and believing you should take what you can get isn’t the way to build your life. Instead, it stifles it.

That’s why we’re here. To create a life that has a deeper purpose, with real meaning that makes a difference in the way you think and take action. In my quest to create this life, I made it my mission to discover the core principles that build and develop our emotions, senses, wisdom, and life skills.

On my journey, I came across many works by other authors that helped me break free of limitations and live a life that was superior to what I was being offered.

This book contains ten master strategies to help you live your life in a better way and stop settling for second best. These are strategies that I learned over the years, from rediscovering my mission in life to setting priorities over tasks that waste time.

As you move through this book, you will feel your confidence grow. You will learn to generate a life filled with passion, opportunity, and better relationships. You will learn to fear less while doing more. You will believe that you are here for a grand purpose. You can lead by example through doing instead of just talking about it.

You will discover what you are most passionate about and then develop the action plan to get it done.

  The Master of Achievement:

What You’ll Get on the Inside

The strategies in this book will help you improve the quality of your life, accomplish your goals, and squeeze the most energy out of every day. You will be more energetic, happy, and motivated to do something now.

Can you imagine what your life would be like if you decided to make it your greatest masterpiece? What could you accomplish in one year if you committed yourself to a program of intense instruction that put you at the top of your game?

You have the ability to be and do anything you want. The limits you believe in are yours and yours alone. This means you can destroy them at any time. You have the potential to turn your life into a masterpiece, to develop your skills and turn a dream into a real and very tangible experience.

By modeling the success of other people, by knowing the traits that makes them great and using that as a platform to build on, we can have our own victory. You may not get the same results as everyone else, but your results will be much better because you’re doing something rather than nothing.

This book is designed to get you to take massive action. It is about turning confusion into clarity and converting passive thinking into creative ideas that add incredible value to your life. By becoming disciplined in your approach, you will discover what you have always been searching for but could never find. It’s not that passion doesn’t exist. Rather, you have been looking for it in the wrong places.

If you take a trip and you have a map of the wrong location, you’ll be lost before you get off the plane. You need to know where you’re going. As we will see in this book, your life is a masterpiece and you are the grand artist.

The Master of Achievement will teach you how to:

Implement the 16 success traits of highly successful people.

  Create a powerful mission statement.

Identify the work you are most passionate about.

Develop a powerful routine that gets things done.

Utilize my step-by-step process for creating powerful life goals.

  Create the opportunities you want.

Learn the “New Challenge Approach” and get past your fear of failure.

  How to Read this Book

The Master of Achievement is comprised of ten guiding principles to help you achieve higher levels of success. Each principle stands alone as a valuable lesson. However, all the principles are interconnected as building blocks to success.

Designed to help you get back on track so you aren’t wasting time and energy taking action on the wrong things, you will gain a greater sense of purpose and direction. You will experience a greater sense of passion and focus as your thoughts align with what you truly want.

To begin integrating these principles into your life, in the first chapter, you’ll learn how to develop a purpose driven mindset. This principle is the foundation for building a life of meaning and value.

Then, in principle two, you will learn to form pro habits with self-discipline and how to apply this in every area of your life. Following this, the principle on goal engineering will walk you through steps for putting together a complete goal portfolio to identify and write down what you’re most passionate about achieving.

Principle four focuses on the window of opportunity, which will reveal that life’s most valuable lessons are often disguised as failures that lead to success. Principle five discusses adopting a model for success and will show you how choosing a role model adds great value to your life.

Principle six gets into the power of priority planning, which will enable you to identify activities and tasks that demand your attention first. Principle seven focuses in on breaking your obstacles, or “getting over the thirty-foot wall,” and shows you the possibilities that manifest when you triumph over life’s challenges.

The eighth principle, getting over the past, discusses techniques you can apply to overcome trauma and old thought paradigms that are keeping you stuck.

Principle nine focuses on turning failure into victory, and how you can convert excuses into actionable steps. Learn to talk back to your negative voices and develop the Steve Jobs attitude for success.

The tenth strategy is about building a life beyond fear and doing whatever scares you right now without hesitation. In this chapter you will break the fear keeping you scared and embrace it as your companion on this trip.

Now it is time to empower your life and launch yourself onto the road to success. You are on your way to a greater life than you ever thought possible.

Turn the page and let’s start the journey.

  CHAPTER ONE

  The Purpose-Driv
en

  Mindset

“The key to realizing a dream is to focus not on success but significance, and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning.”

  — Oprah Winfrey

Your life is a journey best fulfilled by determining your purpose, and then pursuing it with rigorous intensity. You are brought into this world with a unique call to action. It is a personal mission that calls for a deeper expression of the life you have been gifted to lead. It is this calling that drives you to master life’s valuable principles.

From this moment, consider yourself an artist. This life is to be your greatest creation. You hold the keys to everything you strive to achieve. Everything is yours the moment you accept full responsibility for all of life’s successes and failures.

Don’t throw away your talents on meaningless activities that waste time. Instead, direct all your mental and physical energy into mastering the one thing that constantly occupies your thoughts.

Make it your mission to integrate this passion into everything you do. What you focus on is what you become. What you take action on defines your real purpose. The thoughts and dreams that keep you awake at night are directing you to take action towards a higher purpose. As Robert Schuller said, “You are what you think about all day long.” So, what do you think about all the time that won’t rest? Whatever it is, pay attention to it. Listen to the guidance it is pushing towards you.

Focus on performing the right actions and you’ll do the right thing. Allow nothing to pull you off course, and when it does, you will have the focus and clarity to correct your course. You are, at all times, the master of fate in control of your own life vessel.
