  Acknowledgments

The Angler’s Tale was something of a struggle. I picked Dartmouth for a location, and wanted the book to someone including mermaids. It did, in a sense …

It’s not always been possible for me to go on location for research, but on this occasion I could - spending an enjoyable day wandering around Dartmouth and visiting Greenway, which, believe it or not, I had no idea had once been owned by Agatha Christie. It added an interesting angle, however.

As always, I’ve taken massive liberties with my portrayal of location. Local residents will recognise some place and street names, and while some landmarks exist as described, others are entirely fictional.

Thanks this time to to my mother for undertaking a traumatic drive across Dartmoor to get us there, as well as to my regular contributors, Elizabeth for the cover, Nick for the proofreading, and the incomparable Jenny Avery for the fact checking invaluable knowledge of pretty much everything. In addition, many thanks as always to my muses Jenny Twist and John Daulton, as well as to my wonderful Patreon supporters:
