Forever Came Calling Page 3

by B. C. Falls

Trent’s smile drops and he walks towards me, “You know you don’t have to be here.” I’m taken aback since I really never see him without a smile on his face.

“Trent,” I say putting my hand on his arm.

“Don’t act like you are here for any other reason than her,” I don’t respond. “She sent you. We both know it. I get it. She had to run to save me and everyone else,” he puts air quotes around the word save. “But she’s killing me. Slowly …she’s killing me.”

“I don’t know what you are talking about,” I lie, but I can’t let him see that I know. It would ruin the whole plan.

“I remember you. I remember you from back then. I know it was a long time ago but I remember, Royce. I know she sent you here,” I just shake my head.

“Trent,” I look away from him and take a deep breath, “Blake is dead. She died a long time ago and let’s be real about everything right now. I moved here because my ex hurt me so badly that I had to cut and run to save Kady and I. I moved here to give Kady a family. To give her some type of stability. So, you standing here telling me that I moved here for anyone else but Kady and myself, is bullshit!” It’s mostly true. I mean Blake is alive but moving here for Kady and I isn’t one hundred percent the truth.

“Come on, guys!” Kayden calls out, getting both our attention. He’s in his cut too.

Trent looks at Kayden for a couple seconds before he turns back to me. “If that is all true, then don’t hurt them,” Trent says. “They want you here, Royce. Stick around.”

I walk beside Trent into Bo’s. Kayden meets us just inside the door, he’s talking to one of the bouncers who has got to be the biggest man in the bar. By big, I mean he’s fluffy. “Who’s the new chick?” the big guy nods towards me, as he shakes Trent’s hand.

“My sister, Royce,” Kayden pulls on my hand until I’m standing right beside him. “Royce, this is Big T. If you have any unwanted admirers, he’ll take care of them.”

“Sure will, ma’am,” Big T says.

“Nice to meet you, Big T.” I salute him before I walk towards the bar alone. “Can I get some strong whiskey please?” I ask the lady bartender.

She smiles wide, “Sure thing, sweets,” she quickly pours me a glass.

I take a sip. “Thank you. This is really good.”

“Devil Cut. It’s pretty good. Can I start you a tab?”

I look towards Kayden and grin. “Oh, what’s that look?”

“You can put it on Kayden’s tab,” I tell her.

“You know the Puckett boys?” I just laugh. “Let me guess, you’re the sister?”

“You are one good guesser,” I take another sip of the whiskey in my hand, loving the burn it causes in my throat.

“Only the Puckett boys drink whiskey without any sour faces. Plus, you have those bright eyes,” she smiles wide as she extends her hand out to me. “I’m Barbie.”

“Royce,” I shake her hand. “Barbie huh?”

“Parents thought I was going to be a blonde,” and she is definitely not a blonde. Her hair is dark brown and if I had to guess I’d say she was of some type of Latin descent. “Dad also thought mom was faithful.”

  “Seems you’ve taken it well.”

“It ain’t the man who does the fucking, but the man who does the raisin’,” she winks at me before turning her attention on another customer.

I spot Luke just as he comes in, also wearing his cut. If I had to guess, I’d say they have to wear these things every time they go out. “Hey sis.”

“The whole gang coming tonight?” I ask gesturing to his cut. “Why do you wear that a lot?”

“We aren’t a gang,” he scowls at me. “It’s a biker club and we wear this as support for other members of the club, and because it makes us proud to be a part of something.”

“Just ‘cause you guys don’t do drugs or deal drugs doesn’t mean you aren’t a gang. If you look up the definition of a gang on the internet…” he puts his hand up to stop me. “Sorry. I ramble. I get it,” I say sadly.

“It’s cool,” he shrugs, then signals Barbie. She comes over quickly. Too quickly, like she left a customer hanging, quickly.

“Hey Luke,” her smile is flirtatious. The way she’s looking at him I’d guess that someone has a crush. “Usual?”

Luke nods while staring at her with sad eyes. “Yeah. Thanks, Barbie.”

Barbie busies herself getting his drink. “She likes you,” I say.

“I know,” I slap his arm. “What the fuck?”

“Why don’t you do something about it?”

“She’s not single,” my eyebrows bunch together in confusion. He points over to her hand and my mouth drops open in an “O” shape. “Her man is a brother. Plus, you know there is only one girl for me.”

“In Death Patriots?” I don’t say anything about the one girl because for all we know the one girl is gone for good.

  “Yes.”

“Well, shit!” I lean back against the bar accepting defeat. “That fucking sucks for you.”

“Thanks.” Luke tells Barbie when she hands him his drink. It’s whiskey, probably top shelf. “It doesn’t,” he doesn’t waist a second on the drink in his hand. He downs the whole thing, then slams it down before walking off to the pool tables.

Soon, Bo’s is packed with a whole lot of people I have never met before. It takes me a while to get comfortable with so many new faces. The guys have stuck beside me most of the night and supplied me with enough drinks to feel a bit buzzed. Grayson, my second oldest brother, is currently trying to beat me at pool. Something he has never done.

“You can’t beat me,” I tell him as he picks a shot I know he’ll miss. “Especially with that shot,” I’m leaning against the wall behind me, sipping on my fifth glass of Devil Cut.

“Yes, I can,” he slurs out before he pulls back on the pool stick. “I know I can,” he says proudly before hitting the cue ball. It hits the red stripe sending itself into the pocket the red striped ball was sitting next to. “Fuck. I shouldn’t even be drunk,” he looks at the pager on his hip. “Man, I need some coffee and some sleep.”

“Told you,” I smile knowing I can make this game end with my next shot.

I lean over the table and take my position to beat my big bro. “Hey, pretty girl. You know what you are doing there?” some guy says behind me. I ignore him and pull the stick back to shoot. “Why don’t I help you?” he asks. I’m about to turn around when I feel his body fall over mine. His chest is brushed up against my back, his hands on my hips, and my body is completely trapped under him. I take a deep breath to stop the anxiety from coming in, but it does little help to my nerves and the bile swimming around in my stomach.

When I look up for Grayson, I find him sitting on the stool at the table we’ve been using all night, passed out.

“Off,” I tell the guy, shrugging so he’ll get the hint. He doesn’t budge.

“Come on,” he says against my ear. “I know you want it,” he pushes his hips into my ass and I gasp at the feeling. My whole body is tense from the intrusion he’s placing on my body. I start to really push on him. “I saw you looking at me all night.”

He’s referring to me looking around the bar for Dane all night. The asshole hasn’t showed up and I was sure he would. Wish he had now.

“Off me, now!” I push back against him again, this time with all my weight but he still doesn’t budge. I’m not weak. I have some muscle tone in my arms and legs from playing soccer for years, but this guy has all of his weight on me. “I won’t ask again,” I get ready to elbow him in the gut or try to kick and scream if I have to.

I look up when I hear a crashing sound to our left and see Kayden heading our way. He’s definitely not coming over here to have a drink with this douche bag. “Off!” I yell at the guy and push as hard as I can.

“Let her go,” someone growls from behind me. I know the voice. Not well, but I kind of recognize it and it sends shivers through me. “Now,” Dane
demands.

The guy behind me pulls off slightly, but still has one of his hands on my back keeping me pinned to the pool table. “Fuck off,” he tells Dane.

I hear a very loud growl before the guy’s arm is taken off of me. I spin around to find Dane in his uniform, which isn’t good at all, holding the asshole against the wall with one arm against his throat.

“Dane,” Trent barks out, but Dane doesn’t respond because he’s too busy almost killing this guy with a very heated look, and if looks could kill this guy would be dead right now.

Kayden wraps his arm around me and pulls me into his chest. The adrenaline is rushing through me, so as of right now I feel nothing. “You okay?”

“I’m fine,” I push him off me. “I can take care of myself,” I storm off knowing full well that I’m being a bitch. Dane saved my ass back there.

Luke stops me from running off by blocking my path. “I’ll take you home,” he tells me.

“I said I’m fine,” I push past him and head out to the parking lot. I get to my truck quickly, but before I can open the door and get in, someone grabs me.

I’m lifted into the air and my keys are yanked from my hands. “You aren’t driving,” Dane says.

“What the fuck?” I yell out. “Give me back my keys!” I demand. I would’ve demanded him to put me down but I found that I like being in his arms.

“No,” he drops me into my truck but slides in after me, making me slide across the bench seat.

“What gives you the right?” I ask smacking his arm. “You can’t just pick people up and push them around like that! And that guy back there? What the fuck was that? I had it handled! I’ve been taking care of myself way longer than I’ve known you! I don’t need to be rescued!”

He just stares at me, his face unrevealing to what he’s thinking. Only after I take a deep breath and cross my arms over my chest he asks, “Are you done?”

  “Yes.”

He shuts the door and drives off back to my house. “You know they love you right?” Dane asks.

  “What?”

“Your brothers. They love you. You saying you can take care of yourself doesn’t mean anything to them. They know you can, but they want to take care of you.”

  “I don’t need—”

“It doesn’t matter what you need,” he interrupts me. “They love you. They’ll do whatever it takes to protect you. It’s who they are,” I don’t say anything in response.

When Dane pulls up to my house, I get out quickly and get into the trailer before he can stop me, but my flimsy door doesn’t stop him from coming in a couple minutes later. “Shouldn’t you be on patrol or something?” I ask gesturing to his uniform.

“I got off an hour ago.”

“Why are you still in uniform?” Did I mention he looks fucking sexy in his uniform? No? Well, he does. I’m flustered, horny as hell, and buzzed with a man who looks like sin standing in front of me.

“I had to talk to Trent and he wasn’t answering his phone, so I went to the bar looking for him.”

“He’s still at the bar,” I wave towards the door. “I’m home. You can go.”

“I’ll stay,” he turns and sits down on the couch.

“I won’t be able to get rid of you, will I?” he shakes his head. “Fine,” I turn and start stripping out of my clothes. I hear him growl behind me, but unlike the growl in the bar this one is more of a lustful growl.

I head into the bathroom and turn on the shower. The cold water cools my heated skin.

When I moved here, Blake was a huge part of the reason, but Kady was the majority of it. If I’m being honest, I did it for myself also. I knew that Kady needed a family surrounding her and we didn’t have that back in Kentucky. I also knew that I needed them. I’m not used to having a family around all the time. For so long it was just me. I know I’ve always had my brothers and Dallas, but living here is going to be a huge change for me. I need to accept it, because now that we’re here I know we won’t be leaving.

After my shower, I get into one of my old rocker t-shirts and a pair of extremely short shorts before climbing into bed. It’s not a very comfortable bed but it’ll do for now. I’m slowly falling asleep when I feel the bed dip on the other side. “Why are you still here?”

“I…” Dane whispers as he lies down behind me, “I just want to make sure you are okay.”

  “Why do you care?”

“I don’t know, Royce. I just do,” the bed shifts as he moves. I feel his big arm wrap around my waist and he pulls me back against his body. The instant warmth from him being so close hits me like a protective blanket I’ve always needed, but never had. “You need to accept it because I’m not going anywhere,” he whispers right next to my ear.

I don’t say anything. I’m too big of a wuss to tell him to leave me alone. I’m too tired to push him away right now. I fall asleep with the man I know I could fall hard for as he’s holding me tightly. And damn, if it’s not the best sleep I’ve had in years.

  CHAPTER THREE

  Royce

My body is on fire! I slowly wake up from being extremely hot. My leg is slung over Dane’s waist, one of my hands around his head, his hand on my knee holding me to him, and my head on his chest, lips against his neck.

Only things like this happen in my dreams. It is a dream, right?

My eyes snap open at the thought of this being real. It’s not a dream.

Dane groans when I move my hand off him. I put it back when I see his eyebrows scrunch up like it’s painful for him to not have me touching him. I’m literally lying half on top of a man I met not even a week ago. My whole body is on fire from the heat coming off of him, not to mention my panties feel incredibly soaked. I can feel his morning wood under my thigh. It’s a big piece of wood.

  This is a dream.

Is this how it feels to have a man? This feeling of waking up and having him hold me like this is unlike anything I’ve felt before.

Since I’m already here, I might as well enjoy it.

I move my hand down his neck, over his chest where there is light chest hair. I’m so glad he isn’t a hairy man. That would be a very disappointing discovery. When I get to the quote on the side of him I smile at the words I read: For those I love, I will sacrifice. I move my fingers across his skin towards the thick abs that he’s clearly been working on daily. The happy trail between his abs makes my mouth go dry. I want to lick his stomach. I’ve never wanted to lick abs before and I’m not really a fan of blow jobs, but damn if I do want to find out how he tastes at the end of this very happy trial.

I make a U-turn at the waistband of his boxers and go back up to his pecks. His nipples are literally perfect. I’ve always been a fan of men’s nipples. I circle my finger around his right one. His groan makes me still, and then he turns his body on to his side lining up his morning wood with my pussy. My heart is pounding at the thought of him being so close to my core.

When I confirm he’s not awake, I use my nails this time to go across his chest until I get to his other nipple. When I circle his left one he moves again, this time his hips buck. I let out a small moan as his dick rubs against my clit.

“Royce,” Dane whispers as his other arm wraps around my body. “What are you doing?” he asks. He pulls me tightly against him making himself move us so he’s slightly putting his body weight on top of me, pinning me beneath him.

“Nothing,” I breathe out against his neck. I move my wandering hand up to the base of his neck running my nails through his short hair.

His low growl makes my core tighten. “You are being naughty,” he runs one of his hands up to the base of my neck, putting his fingers in my hair and repeating what I just did to him. Only difference with his tug is that he tugs until I look up at him. “I haven’t even kissed you yet,” he whispers as he lowers his mouth so it’s inches from mine. My breath mixes with his as we stare at each other. “I’m not going to kiss you right now though.”

  “You aren’t?”
I sound sad and pathetic.

“No,” he quickly pulls away from me and gets out of the bed. He’s wearing nothing but a pair of boxers and my mouth is literally watering from the sight of him.

“Seriously?” I gesture to his very big hard on. “You’re just going to leave?”

  “Yes,” he says simply.

“One word answers huh? Why don’t you talk more?” I prop my head up on my hand, watching him as he gathers his clothes. His reply is to just shrug. “Why won’t you kiss me?”

“I haven’t asked you out yet.”

“So you’re old fashioned then? I like that, I guess. I’ve never really had that actually,” he shrugs again. “Why haven’t you asked me out yet?” I know I’m annoying him, but he’s not letting it show which is good.

  “I will.”

  “When?”

“When I want to,” his pants are up in seconds and I’m saddened by this development.

“How did you find out about my blood pressure?” I ask surprising him. He turns around and growls again when he see’s that I’m half naked. I’m sure he knew that I had nothing but a shirt and some shorts on when he crawled into bed last night, but seeing it now in the daylight has to be something else.

I find I really like his growl.

He comes and sits down next to me, tugging on my shirt that has ridden up slightly. “Luke mentioned your blood pressure. I don’t know much about it, just that you have to be careful sometimes.”

“That’s why you stayed?” I look away from him and tug at the sheet under me with my fingertips, nervous tick. “It’s under control.”

His hand moves to my side so he’s holding me in place, like he’s afraid I’ll run away. “Most of the time?” he asks.

“Yes. I only have problems when I get upset or when I’m stressed out, but I take my pills to keep it under control.”

  “You were upset last night.”

  “I was.”
