“Well, how about that?” asked Dad.
“Sounds perfect,” said Dakota.
“You’d be crazy to say no,” said Mom.
“Tell her I’ll be in touch,” I said, pleased at the news. “Right now, I want to spend some time with the people I love.”
Bonnie smiled.
“I’ll have her pencil you in for a meeting,” she said, firing off a text.
Dakota reached under the table and gave my leg a squeeze.
“Love you, baby,” he said.
“Love you, too,” I said right back.
At that moment, I couldn’t imagine how life could get any better. Love was all around me, and I knew that it was just the beginning of an amazing new life with those I cared about.
