“Yikes.” Kat made a face. “I guess they’d be instantly transported to Yonnie Six. How’d you like that for a change of pace?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” Liv mused. “Being instantly transported to a place where women rule everything and the men are all servants might be interesting.”
“It was kind of like that on Femalah when I went there with Bound looking for Torn,” Lorelei said quietly. “And I didn’t like it at all. I had to treat Bound like a second class citizen and they were about to shoot Torn because he was a ‘bad investment’ just before we got to him. Men have no rights at all there—none. That kind of inequality isn’t good—no matter who’s in charge.”
“You’re right, Lorelei,” Sophie said thoughtfully. “And besides, why would any of us want to go to Yonnie Six when we already have Kindred husbands who treat us like queens?”
“Some of us have more than others,” Kat winked and nudged Lorelei with a grin.
Lorelei grinned back and felt a warm glow. After years of feeling like she didn’t belong anywhere, she had finally found a home among the stars and she knew that she would be happy to stay here aboard the Mother Ship with Torn and Bound, forever now that love had bridged the distance between the three of them.
