“You boys just stop right there,” he heard Sandy calling, and heard the cock of the shotgun.

“Sorry, ma’am. Just wanted to water our horses,” one of the men called out to her.

“Water ‘em and get on your way. I don’t want trouble.”

  “Hey, ain’t you Maudie Collins?”

“No, I’m not. My name is Alexandra Tompkins.”

“You sure do look like Maudie. She was the best piece of ass I ever…”

“Shut up, Charlie,” the first man said. “Can’t you see she’s a lady?”

Tony walked over to the barn door and looked out, watching the five men watering their horses at the trough. One of the men got down from his horse and started toward Sandy.

“I said I don’t want trouble, but I will shoot if you take one step closer,” Sandy said, raising the shotgun.

The man snorted and Sandy put a shot right between his legs into the ground.

“Hey, Bitch, you could have killed me!”

“No, I only kill rattlesnakes. Don’t make me think you are one of those lowdown creatures.” She raised the shotgun again and this time, it was between his eyes.

He backed away. “What’s to say I don’t just get my boys to take that rifle away from you and we just have a little fun?” the man asked, rubbing his hand on the front of his trousers.

“Go ahead and try,” Tony said, stepping out of the barn. “I can take down two of you, and Sandy can take one more. Which one of you is going to be the first to die?”

“Hey, man, we didn’t mean nothing. Didn’t know the lady had a husband.”

“So you always go around assaulting lone women?” Tony asked. “Your horses are watered. Now get on down the road.”

The five men rode away and Sandy set the shotgun down. She collapsed into one of the rocking chairs on the front porch.

Tony ran to her. Gathering her into his arms, he held her while she cried.

“It’s all right, Sweetheart,” he whispered, comforting her.

Lifting her, he sat down in the rocker, drawing her onto his lap.

She sobbed against his shoulder until she finally stopped crying.

“I’m sorry… I…” She started to move away from him.

“I’m not.” He placed his palms on each of her cheeks, drawing her to him. Moaning, he kissed her. He moved his tongue into the sweet depths of her mouth.

“Tony,” she whispered against his lips.

  “Yes, love?”

Rising from his lap, she held her hand out to him. He put his hand into hers and together they walked into the cabin. She led him to her bedroom.

“What do you want me to do, Sandy?”

“Make love with me,” she whispered, leaning her body against him.

Slowly he undressed her, and then removed the pins from her hair. It fell to her waist and he buried his fingers in the soft waves.

Pulling her to him, he kissed her, his tongue caressing her tongue. As he did so, she removed his shirt and unfastened his jeans. She slid her palm inside and wrapped her hand around his rapidly hardening cock.

He moaned when he felt her touch on him. “Baby, it’s been too long since I was with anyone. I’ve been seeing Ma Thumb and her four daughters for way too long.”

“Well, we’ll just see if we can fix that.”

She helped him remove his jeans and underwear, and then he pulled her down onto the bed as he fell. He kissed her again, holding her against him, her breasts pressed against his chest. The hair on his chest rubbing against her nipples made them hard. He leaned down and took each one into his mouth, suckling her as a babe.

Her hands were all over his back, all the way down to cup the hard muscles of his butt. Pulling him against her, she felt his hard cock between her thighs.

“How long has it been, love?” he asked.

“Since before John left,” she whispered.

He reached up to capture the tear that fell over her cheek. “Ten years.”

“I’ve been so lonely, Tony. Longing for someone, something, but not knowing what it was until you rode up.”

He kissed her gently. “I knew there was someone out there for me, Sandy. Just didn’t know I’d have to get myself almost killed to find her.”

  “I love you.”

He kissed her again, and then turned her onto her back. “I love you too.”

He spread her thighs and brought his hand down to cup her mound. His fingers dipped into the wet channel of her center and she gasped, arching against his hand.

His finger moved in and out of her, bringing her over the edge twice, before he knew she was ready for him.

  “Sure you ain’t Maudie Collins?”

She laughed. “Who the hell is Maudie Collins?”

“I don’t know, but it doesn’t matter. I love Sandy Tompkins and she is my woman.”

“Good, because I ain’t letting you go, Tony Rice.”

He entered her then and knew that he’d finally come home.
