Memories In The Dark

She moved back on the bed and pulled her tiny t-shirt over her head discarding it on the floor. She didn’t need to invite Romero because he was there on top of her before the tiny top had reached its destination. His mouth found her breast easily and sucked and licked her until he felt her moving in rhythm beneath him. He could feel her hips grinding against him as he tried to hold on with all his might, he wanted to enjoy every second of this.

Helen threw her arms above her head as she enjoyed Romero’s mouth on her breast, his breath was hot and his tongue was moist. He used his teeth to gently graze along her nipple and then licked it moist again afterwards. His other hand found its way to the junction at the top of her thighs. Instinctively she opened up to him and pushed her hips up to encourage him in. Helen grabbed at the sheets as Romero moved his mouth from one breast to the other giving them both equal attention, and then she became aware of the wonderful sensations he was creating down below where his fingers seemed to dance inside her. Helen pulled at Romero’s shoulders and met his lips with hers as he came up to kiss her. His fingers didn’t leave her moist warmth, he was enjoying the soft murmuring sounds they were drawing from her. He chuckled a deep sound and smiled as he watched her enjoy the sensations he was creating. He could feel the change in her breathing and watched as her body wriggled faster against him.

  “Romero!” Helen gasped.

“Sí mi amor.” He smiled at her as he watched her tilt over the edge and fall into wild abandonment. Romero pulled her close against him, ignoring the fire burning deep below shouting at him, screaming desperately for relief, until her body relaxed once again in his arms.

Helen’s breathing slowed as she lay in Romero’s arms. The stars had only just started to subside when she realised Romero had stopped. She could feel his hardness strong against her side and in her haze of contentment she was pleased to know he still wanted her.

“Romero?” She pulled back to look at him, why had he stopped?

“You are alright?” He asked as he tenderly rubbed his thumb along her cheek?

She laughed, she was more than alright, she was down–right in pure heaven.

“Good.” He took that as a yes and started to kiss her again, this time more softly, taking his time.

She laughed as his kisses tickled her neck and pushed at him until he rolled onto his back. Without losing a second Helen was on top of Romero, her legs straddling him as she leaned down and kissed him like she felt she had never kissed anyone before. Romero held her hair back as it fell across his face. He savoured her mouth, her tongue, and her teasing bites at his lower lip. He lifted his head up trying not to break the connection between their mouths as she teased him, playfully pulling away, and then she went in for more, kissing him deeper and harder, driving him insane. She could feel his hips moving beneath her silently begging for her to take him. With one hand she reached down - he was big and hard. Her eyes flashed open with surprise as she realised just how big he was and she was greeted by a soft deep chuckle, pleased at her surprise. Helen raised herself up and slid down on top of him, slowly and deliberately, taking him into her inch by inch. She savoured every second as she edged down on him. Romero pulled her forward and plunged his tongue deep inside her mouth, kissing her deeply, darkly. The feeling of him inside her with his almost animalistic kisses was intense. She instinctively moved to a slow rhythm on top of him. Romero’s hands slid to her waist as he joined her in her rhythm. He marvelled in the view of Helen sitting astride him, riding him, moving up and down, backwards and forwards. Her hair cascaded around her shoulders, falling across her face and then back as she reached up and pulled it away from her face so she could watch Romero beneath her. He felt like he was going crazy with desire, he didn’t think he could take anymore. Without breaking contact he held her tightly and rolled her over on the bed, plunging even deeper inside her as she lay beneath him. Helen held on tight with her legs around Romero’s waist as she enjoyed the ride to oblivion. Romero lost himself as he thrust into the most beautiful sensations he had ever known. And finally, when he felt like nothing could ever be more perfect, more amazing, he let loose and fell into utopia.

Helen felt Romero tense and release all at the same time. She heard him call out her name as he arched up and then slowly lay himself down on top of her. He tried to take his weight onto his elbows but barely managed, he was exhausted and totally spent. Gently he planted a tiny kiss on the side of Helen’s face as she felt his breath coming hard against her skin. She smiled to herself, she was in heaven. Romero carefully rolled off and pulled her close against him. He lay one arm across her, and before Helen had a chance to say a word she realised he was already asleep again. She smiled and closed her eyes, to fall asleep too.

  CHAPTER SEVEN

Helen woke later that morning and realised the bed was empty next to her. A pang of sadness engulfed her - she had gone to sleep all warm and snuggled next to Romero, and she had been happy, really happy. She looked up as the door opened, hoping Romero wasn’t regretting this morning because she certainly wasn’t, and she waited to see what his reaction was going to be.

Romero walked into the bedroom with a smile on his lips, a cup of coffee in one hand, and a pair of running shoes in the another. Putting the coffee down at the side of the bed he sat down next to Helen and pulled her into his arms. He kissed her full on her lips giving her no doubt that earlier this morning was the best time he’d had in his life.

“Good morning.” Romero said as he smiled brightly. He had woken up not long ago, and lain next to Helen watching her sleep soundly for a while, looking so peaceful. Romero knew someday she would hopefully remember who she was, but he also knew that would probably be the day he would lose her. However until then Romero didn’t want to think about that, he was going to savour whatever time he had with Helen. For now he had her - his Helen, not the Helen of the past who might one day come back.

“Mmm, it is a good morning indeed.” Helen said smiling back at him, her heart was jumping around and she wanted a replay of earlier this morning.

Romero could see the playful look in her eyes and laughed. He liked her this way, all smiling and flushed, with messy hair looking like she had enjoyed a good time with him! He tapped her on the tip of her nose and showed her the running shoes.

“What’s with the shoes?” She asked thinking they looked far too small and girlie for him.

“They’re for you. I bought them yesterday when I was suddenly left with nothing to do in my break. I thought you might like to come running with me, I like to go running along the sea-front in the morning.”

“I’m not sure I would be able to keep up with you, but I’ll give it a try.” She liked the idea he had been thinking about her when they were apart yesterday.

“Good. Get dressed, we’re going running.” He said putting the shoes down on the floor and handing her the coffee.

“What, now?” Helen asked thinking she would prefer to be doing a different kind of exercise with him.

“I’ll wait for you in the kitchen.” Romero laughed as he walked out the door.

Romero and Helen ran along Villajoyosa’s sea front, stopping just a few times to catch their breath and steal a few kisses along the way. Romero was surprised how well she ran - of course she hadn’t been able to keep up with him, not many people could, but he had only needed to slow down a little and stop a couple of times for her, he could see she was definitely fit and in good shape. Helen surprised herself, she realised she loved to run, really run; she could feel all her worries and tensions fade away as she pushed past the fatigue wall and into her next stride. Out of breath but satisfied they both set off back to Romero’s villa.

Romero sprinted ahead, beating Helen into the shower, laughing as he closed the shower door behind him and turned on the steaming shower. Helen looked at the closed door with hands on her hips, and it was then that she realised she wasn’t very good at waiting for what she wanted, or doing what she was told. She quietly opened the
bathroom door and sneaked in. Romero jumped when he felt Helen’s warm hands touch his back as she stepped into the shower behind him. He hadn’t expected this but his surprise was soon replaced with excitement as he turned around and took Helen in his arms kissing her deeply, letting the water wash over them. She reached for the soap and began to lather his body, enjoying the feel of the soft bubbles over his hard muscles. Romero sighed as he relaxed, he let her turn him around drinking in the feeling of her hands as they soothed him, until she found the hardest part of him.

Helen felt Romero tense as she found his strong maleness rock hard. She looked at him, his eyes were dark and looked almost dangerous, and she loved it. She smiled wickedly as she slowly slid down his body onto her knees. His hands smoothed her hair back as the shower gently sprayed water on them, and he watched as she took him into her mouth. Helen closed her eyes as she tasted the bitter sweetness of Romero, her tongue flicked and licked at him as she moved her mouth around him. As the water cascaded down she teased him mercilessly until he cried out for her to end his torment of pleasure. She laughed as he grabbed her, pulling her up to him and back against the stone-cold tiles. He gave her no time to protest as his mouth found hers with an urgency he had never known. Romero’s lips started their sweet assault on her mouth as his maleness plunged inside her desperately. He thrust deep and hard as her legs wrapped themselves around his waist and her fingers delved into his hair, pulling him closer. Romero couldn’t take any more and toppled over the edge of oblivion, holding her tightly as he emptied himself into her, shaking with the sheer force of his release. Neither of them moved for a moment, they stood intertwined together, letting the water shower over their heavily breathing bodies.

“Are you alright, I didn’t hurt you?” Romero finally asked as he caught his breath. He didn’t know what came over him, he had never felt so animalistic before, needing to take someone with such incredible urgency; he had always taken care to be a sensitive lover.

“No you didn’t hurt me. I’m fine. In fact I am more than fine, I feel great.” She said as she kissed him gently on the lips, satisfied and pleased with herself for the reaction she had evoked from him.

They unfolded themselves and finished their shower. Romero left Helen to take a little longer in the bathroom and went off to make lunch for the two of them - he needed to sit down and eat, he couldn’t remember the last time he felt so pleasantly exhausted.

Romero and Helen pulled up outside Juan and Cathy’s bar. Romero reached across the car and kissed her one last time before they stepped out. Since this morning he couldn’t keep his hands off her, he loved the feel of her soft skin and he liked the way she responded to his touch, almost melting into him. Romero was about to say something as he looked into Helen’s deep blue yes, but he stopped and just smiled running his hand down her cheek.

“What?” Helen asked loving the sparkle in his eyes.

“Nada.” He said as he got out of the car.

They walked to the bar hand in hand, and Romero kissed Helen goodbye as she left him and went behind the bar.

Juan watched as Helen went out to the back to put her handbag away. He frowned, looking at Romero who had taken a seat and was drinking the coffee he’d put out for him. “What are you doing my friend?” Juan asked him quietly.

“Drinking my coffee.” Romero answered avoiding his obvious question.

“You know what I mean. I can see by the look on your face that things have changed between the two of you.”

Romero just looked at him and smiled, then went back to drinking his coffee.

“So what is going to happen when she remembers who she is and where her life was before you? You know she will go back to that life, and that won’t include you.”

“I know. But that is then, and this is now.”

“Hello! Where is the Romero I know? Has he been abducted by aliens and replaced with someone else? You always play it safe, I have never known you to do anything ‘just for now’. You always think ahead, think of the consequences. If anything you are the boring one and I’m the thoughtless irresponsible one!” Juan couldn’t believe Romero had totally changed, all over one woman!

“Very funny. I hope she does get her memory back, but who knows what will happen then, or how she will feel. Until that day comes…. well, she is a very special woman and I like her.”

“How much?” Juan smiled, he thought they made a good couple, they certainly made a very attractive one.

“A lot.” Romero admitted with a grin on his face as he slid off his bar stool. He saw Helen come back into the bar. “Will you be okay? Call me if you need me, otherwise I will collect you when I finish work.”

She nodded as she stood on the other side of the bar to him, she was looking forward to another evening of joking with Juan’s customers.

Without warning Romero leaned across the bar and took Helen’s face in his hands. He gave her a long hard kiss taking her breath away. Helen still had her eyes closed, smiling, savouring the after-effects of their kiss for a few seconds longer, and when she opened her eyes she saw Romero walking away laughing at the surprised look on both Juan and Cathy’s faces.

Cathy walked up to Helen and looked at her with a satisfied smile, “So I guess I was right then!”

“I guess you were.” Helen blushed.

“And what about you? What do you think?” Cathy asked seriously.

“What do I think? I think I have a very sexy, thoughtful, protective and funny Spanish police sergeant.” She beamed, loving the warm feeling in her stomach.

Cathy turned to Juan, “I told you so.” She loved being right.

The night had been busy and Helen’s feet were aching. She wasn’t sure if the run that morning had been such a good idea now, her thighs were aching and crying out for the comfort of a bit soft chair, not a quick five minute break on Juan’s bar stall. She massaged the tops of her thighs in hope it would ease them a little and then took a sip of her black coffee letting the caffeine give her a much-needed lift. Then something caught her attention - out the corner of her eye Helen noticed that a man who had been walking past the bar had stopped, and was looking directly at her. She looked over her shoulder to check he wasn’t looking past her to someone else, but he wasn’t. Helen smiled at him, not wanting to be unfriendly to a potential customer, but the heavy-set man stood still, unsmiling, still watching her. There was something about him Helen didn’t like - he looked smart enough, his grey hair was combed back from his face and he wore a light coloured linen suit with a white shirt open at the neck. She noted the big gold Rolex watch and thick gold chain around his throat and thought that along with his dark suntan he looked like he was probably one of the rich local expats living somewhere close by. The man continued to watch her but he still didn’t smile, he just nodded back at her. Then as quickly as she saw him, he was gone, vanishing behind a crowd of tourists. Helen turned back to her coffee and drained the last drops from her cup. Jumping off the stool she went around the back of the bar to serve the last few customers of the night hoping Romero would be along soon to pick her up; there was something about the man which made her feel uneasy. She yawned and stretched, maybe she was just tired, she was looking forward to going home with Romero soon.

Helen didn’t have to wait for long - as if he could have read her mind Romero’s car pulled up outside Juan’s bar and Helen said goodnight. Juan laughed as Romero drove off with Helen, not staying for his usual cup of coffee, he had a feeling Romero had better things on his mind tonight. He was right, the only thing Romero was in the mood for was some more alone time with Helen.

The next morning Helen woke up and stretched. She smiled at the sleeping contented body next to her in the bed. Last night there had been no playing games, Romero had asked her to come to his bed with him and she had gone willingly. She slipped out from under Romero’s arm and headed to the bathroom. Freshly showered and dressed in a small pair of denim shorts and a fitting white t-shirt she set out preparing breakf
ast in the kitchen.

Helen jumped slightly as she felt large hands encircle her waist, then she laughed as Romero nibbled at her ear and pressed himself hard against her back giving her no doubt of his intentions.

“You were supposed to still be asleep, I was going to bring you breakfast in bed.” She complained as she turned around in his arms enjoying the feel of them around her.

“Come back to bed with me.” He whispered in her ear as he tried to ignore the growling in his stomach at the smell of the scrambled eggs and bacon cooking on the oven.

“As much as I would love to, my mother always told me that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”

Romero stopped and looked at her in surprise.

“Oh, wow!” Helen looked equally surprised, “I just remembered something!”

“Yes you did.” He said just as his stomach let out an almighty growl, “I think I like your mother.” He said as he pulled away and sat down at the table in anticipation of the food to come.

Helen turned back to the oven, “I wonder why she hasn’t tried to find me? Surely my parents must be wondering where I am.” She said as she put a plate of food in front of Romero along with a glass of fresh orange juice.

The same thought had occurred to Romero; he wondered why no one had reported her missing yet, he couldn’t imagine Helen lacking in friends, and what about her family? He didn’t want to think about the relationships side of her situation – he found it hard to believe that someone as beautiful and sweet as Helen would be single - but he knew he would have to think about it at some point.
