How to Marry Your Frenemy (How To Rom Com Series Book 1) Page 17

by London Casey

Callie’s eyes widened. “Are you serious?”

“What? We both have needs. This is a win-win.”

  “We’re married.”

  “Fake married,” I said.

  “But still…”

“Unless you want me to fuck you,” I whispered. “I can lift that dress up… let my fingers explore…”

My hands crept down to her ass.

Callie pushed me away. “No thanks. I’m fine just the way things are. We don’t need to make a deal.”

“You’re okay with your fingers then?” I asked.

“Jackson… I can go without much longer than you. Do I need sex? Of course I do. Am I driving myself crazy? Yes I am. Am I insanely horny right now? You bet. But knowing you’re feeling it ten times worse… that makes it worth it.”

Callie backed away and put her fingers to her lips and blew me a kiss.

I gritted my teeth. “That’s how this is going to go then?”

“I better get back inside,” Callie said.

“Why? So you can make your date rock hard and leave him hanging?”

“Just like I’m doing to you?” she asked.

“You know, you’re putting a lot of trust in me,” I said. “Who’s to say I don’t just fuck Maggie anyway and tell her to shut her mouth. I’ve got a big bonus coming. I can spare a little change to send her to Paris.”

“That’s up to you, Jackson,” Callie said. “Maybe I can do the same with Derrick.”

She started to walk away and I grabbed her arm.

“It’s driving you crazy I’m here with Maggie,” I said. “You think you’re good at hiding it, but you’re not. You’re half drunk and fully pissed off.”

“What are you going to do about it?” Callie teased.

I pulled her close to me again.

I moved an inch down to kiss her but stopped myself.

Kissing for the hell of it… that wasn’t going to work. That was going to lead to problems.

But this entire thing was a problem to begin with.

  So what really fucking mattered?

I leaned down some more and Callie grabbed my face.

“Don’t blow this for me,” she said.

  “Don’t blow Derrick,” I said.

  “We’ll see,” she replied.

She pushed away from me and walked back into the event.

I stared at her curves and her ass in the dress.

I curled up my fists tight.

  My dick throbbed.

  I was feeling things I never thought I’d feel…

  I smiled.

I definitely picked out the right dress for her to wear.

  Consider me a good husband.

  Chapter Twenty-Six

  Callie

I was turned on and pissed.

That seemed to be the Jackson specialty.

The guy drove me crazy. In good ways and bad.

I went right back to the bar where I had been.

  My drink was gone.

  Of course it fucking was.

  I whistled for the bartender.

He looked at me a little funny for whistling.

  I didn’t care.

  I needed a drink. Stat.

Jackson needed to end up in the back of my mind.

I only had another hour to go at the event and then I could casually slip out and get a ride home. From there, I’d lock my door, shower, and do whatever I felt like doing in the comfort and privacy of my own place.

But I needed to change something up.

My fingers going to town on my clit each night while picturing Jackson naked in the shower, touching his cock… that was going to get me into trouble.

I needed something else to visualize.

I scanned everyone at the event and stopped at Derrick.

Some cougar had her hand on his arm, squeezing tight. I could almost see her knees wobbling from where I was. I rolled my eyes. If Derrick even tried it with her, he’d break her hip. She was too old and when he went into jackhammer-slash-I’m-coming mode, it could get annoying watching the room bouncing around for ten seconds until he popped.

Derrick turned his head and caught me staring.

  He smiled.

  I looked away.

I downed my martini and ordered another.

They were catching up to me.

I was rapidly going from buzzed to drunk with each drink I consumed..

Drunk at a charity event was a bad idea.

The logical voice in my head told me to stop.

But I sipped the next drink and that voice shut the hell up for good.

I was then treated to the feeling of someone staring at me.

I slowly turned my head and saw Jackson.

  Across the room.

  His eyes devouring me.

  Not blinking.

Sending warm pulses to places on my body that were only going to ruin this entire thing between us.

I stared back at Jackson with the same intensity.

If he wanted to do this…

  Then let’s do it.

We could eye fuck each other all night from across the room.

While all these people were talking business and opening their checkbooks for a good cause, my eyes begged to see Jackson reach into his suit pants and pull out his throbbing cock. And I knew he wanted more than anything to have me pull the front of my dress down and let him see my full and perfect breasts.

  I sipped my martini.

He sipped a glass of something.

Maggie entered the frame, touching his arm.

Jealousy ripped through me and I felt like going up to the bitch and slamming my glass against her sculpted face.

  Jackson quickly disposed of Maggie.

He shook her touch away and then pointed for her to go talk to someone else.

She was bubbly and jumped away like an innocent rabbit.

I felt like a cat. A vicious cat. I wanted to pounce on Maggie and tear her apart. And then I wanted to fuck Jackson.

Jackson and I locked eyes again.

  It was just so…

  “Callie?”

I had to break the stare.

I turned and smiled when I saw Carol standing in front of me.

“Look at you,” she said to me. “How do you get prettier each time I see you?”

  “Carol,” I said.

  We hugged each other.

Carol was such a sweet woman. Her husband Dale had been on the board of a space tech company that Vince fell in love with. Vince insisted we invest in the company. Dale had more interest in looking down my shirt than to talk real business, so I stuck with Carol.

  “How’s Dale?” I asked.

“Trying to get into the dress of that young woman over there,” Carol said.

I looked and saw Dale talking to Maggie.

  I laughed. “Good luck, Dale.”

“I keep telling him, if you can get it, go for it.”

“Does he ever get it?” I asked.

“Never,” Carol said. She smiled. “How are you? I mean, I heard you got married?”

  “What?”

  “Was that not true?”

  “No. I mean yes. I mean… I’m married. I got married, yes.”

“Callie,” Carol said, letting her jaw drop. Her eyes were drunk. “I never thought… and I heard it was to Jackson…”

I shrugged my shoulders. “Love, right?”

“You two hated each other,” she said. “Oh, I remember those meetings. He would just barge in and act like such an ass.”

“Well, he’s still an ass,” I said. “Now he’s my ass.”

“How did that happen?” Carol grabbed my wrist. “I sound so rude right now. I blame the drinks. I’m sorry for the way I sound.”

“No, it’s fine,” I said. “It’s a shock to everyone. Including me.” I laughed. “But seriously, it was just… I don’t know. I guess if you argue with someone enough and you can put up with them…”

  “You know wha
t? That’s the perfect kind of marriage. You know how to push each other’s buttons yet you can stand it and outlast it.” Carol leaned toward me. “And I’m sure the sex is insane. Right? All that pent-up anger and competition… taking that to the bedroom… where nobody loses…”

“Let’s just say I’m very happy,” I said.

“I can see it in your face. You look so pretty. I’m so happy to see you. You know Dale retired finally, right?”

  “I heard that.”

“Thanks to your investment,” Carol said. “He was able to cash out and now we just enjoy life.”

“Watching Dale trying to get laid?” I asked.

Carol laughed again. “Poor guy. He gets rejected and I just give him a hand job when we get home and he falls asleep.”

  I choked on my martini.

  “Too much?” Carol asked.

“No,” I said. “Just caught me off guard.”

“Well, I’ll let you be. Your husband is staring at you like he wants to rip that dress off you. Don’t let me get in the way.”

Carol hugged me again and I looked at Jackson.

  He just kept staring.

  That look…

  I curled my lip.

I wasn’t going to fall for it.

When Carol walked away, I hurried to finish my drink.

I put the glass on the bar and then made my move.

To get out of Jackson’s sight.

I needed a minute or two to myself.

The bathroom was fancy with a gold mirror, big lights, marble counters, clean floors, and big enough stalls that I was able to stand in one with my dress hiked up so it didn’t touch the floor.

My head swirled and buzzed. It was like Jackson had set himself into my head, leaving it impossible for me to leave the bathroom without… relief.

I swallowed hard and took a breath.

  I could pull this off.

What the hell are you thinking right now, Callie? This is insane. You’re going to touch yourself in the bathroom at an event for charity…

I told that dumb rational voice to shut up.

If I didn’t do something right now, I was going to end up in Jackson’s bed.

I held my dress up with my left hand and reached between my legs with my right hand. I gently pressed over my panties. I was already on fire. I could feel my panties pulling tight against my body.

I sucked in a breath and slipped my fingers down the front of my panties.

Just as the tip of my middle finger touched my best friend, there was a knock at the bathroom door.

I let out a quick yell.

Then the door jiggled then opened and in slipped Jackson.

I forgot to lock the fucking door all the way.

  “What are…”

“Get out,” I said. “I’ll scream for help right now, Jackson. I swear on my-”

Jackson pushed me against the wall and put his mouth to mine.

  Only he didn’t kiss me.

I shivered for a second as he moved the lower half of his body against mine.

I shut my eyes and groaned.

No, Callie… you can’t come because of him…

“My wife should never have to do this alone,” Jackson whispered.

His right hand touched my leg and I jumped.

  “Jackson…”

“Just tell me to stop and I will,” he said. “I dare you to tell me to stop right now.”

His hand ran along my inner thigh, leaving a trail of tingles that were going to haunt me for the rest of my life.

  “I’m waiting,” he said.

When he spoke, his lips touched mine.

  Again, we weren’t kissing.

When I felt his fingers touch between my legs, over my panties, right where my fingers were a minute ago, my knees began to bend.

I drove my hips forward, aching for more of his touch.

Jackson applied more pressure and moved up, twisting his thick, middle finger to my clit.

She (my clit) screamed in my core with ecstasy, knowing it was finally the touch of someone other than myself.

I quickly slapped Jackson’s hand away.

  “No,” I said.

“Fair enough,” he whispered and backed away. “You’re going to regret that, Callie.”

Jackson smirked and exited the bathroom stall.

I stood there and tried to catch my breath.

  My body was so… ready…

I felt pulses and throbs from deep within my core.

If I had balls, they would have been bright blue.

When I caught my breath I opened the stall door and stepped out.

A middle-aged woman stared at me through the mirror, holding lipstick to her lips.

I smiled. “Careful of those martinis. They sneak up on you.”

The woman didn’t make a move.

In other words, she heard and saw everything.

I ran from the bathroom, my face bright red.

  I was mortified.

And still way too turned on for my own good.

I looked for Jackson again but only found Derrick.

That’s when Jackson’s proposal went through my head.

He gets to sleep with Maggie. I get to sleep with Derrick.

We both could get off without touching one another.

  It would save the marriage.

  Save the bonus.

  Save each other from ourselves.

What other choice did I have?

  Chapter Twenty-Seven

  Jackson

I had my ways of getting into Callie’s apartment.

The night was far from over.

I had no idea what kind of games she thought she was playing back at the charity event. Staring at me with those drunk, fuck me eyes. And then chasing her down to the bathroom only to find herself about to double tap her mouse…

The image refused to leave my mind.

So I really had no choice but to go into her apartment and wait for her to return home.

I needed to make sure my wife was okay, right?

That’s what a good husband did.

The first thing I did was check her fridge.

I really had no idea what to expect.

Was Callie a yogurt and kale kind of woman? Or was she a spoiled milk container and leftover food from three nights ago kind of woman?

She was a bit of both.

She had the largest container of spring mix I ever saw in the fridge.

  I laughed.

Spring mix was just a fancy way of saying all the shit that grows that tastes terrible but you’ll eat it because we call it spring mix.

Her milk wasn’t expired for two days.

But she had a smaller container of milk that expired a week ago.

She was flustered and in a hurry all the time.

Her home life was definitely different than her work life.

That I already knew from our coffee dates each morning.

There was a shelf in the fridge dedicated to soy sauce and duck sauce packets.

Meaning she packed that shit up from her old place and moved it.

I laughed, picturing her arguing with that crazy woman she used to live with, saying she was taking half the soy sauce packets.

That was just Callie though, right?

I walked to the living room and found a bra on the coffee table.

I sat down on the couch and stared at the bra.

It had some size to it… but I already knew it would. Callie’s cleavage was like the water cooler at the office. It never stopped giving.

I also had seen most of one of her breasts the other night.

My eyes looked to the bathroom door.

  I gritted my teeth.

A wild idea came to me to go explore her bedroom.

But that felt maybe a little too creepy.

  Then again…

“I’m her husband,” I said. “I have the right to snoop around.”

I wanted to find her toys.

>   I wanted to see what made her tick and tock.

I leaned back on the couch and smiled.

  “Fuck it,” I whispered.

I stood up and walked across the apartment to the bedroom.

When I opened the door, I was greeted by the smell of Callie.

Her skin. Her hair. Her perfume. The laundry soap she used. The smell of sleep on her sheets.

All of it mixing perfectly and wrapping around me like a tight blanket.

I groaned and flicked on the light.

  Her bed wasn’t made.

  I shook my head.

“My wife is a slob,” I said.

There were clothes on the floor too.

  Nice clothes. Casual clothes.

More bras hanging off the dresser and the mirror like they were part of the decor.

  It made me laugh.

So this proper and hard assed woman at the office was living like this in private…

It was absolutely fascinating to me.

I walked to the bed and touched the pillow.

  I shook my head.

I may have been a little buzzed but I wasn’t going to stoop low enough to smell her pillow. If anything, I wanted to smell her sheets. About halfway down… to see if I could smell her…

Even that seemed a little outrageous.

If I even thought for a second I wanted Callie in that way, I could just make my move and we could really get the marriage going.

I moved to the nightstand drawer and opened it.

In my mind, I pictured some neon colored rubber dicks to roll and flop around.

There was a picture in the drawer.

It was of a young girl.

  “Callie,” I said.

I could pick out the features clear as day.

The young girl stood at a homemade lemonade stand.

Her hands flat on the stand, no smile on her face.

  I laughed out loud.

So Callie had a lemonade stand, huh? She’s been a businesswoman all her life then.

There were no sex toys waiting for me in the drawer so I put the picture back and shut the drawer.

I left the bedroom and took my seat back on the couch.

There was noise outside the door.

  Callie was home.

  And she wasn’t alone.

The door opened and Callie looked at me and gasped.

  Behind her walked Derrick.

I stood up and it took the ditz of a guy a good three seconds to realize I was there.
