Chapter 1
Ivory
Swaying a little to the music, I smile while I watch the band play. Thinking back when I first saw them two months ago, being in the crowd, looking up at them in awe, being a stranger to them; now, each member is my boyfriend.
My lovers.
My friends.
My everything.
Rush, the lead singer of the band smiles out to the crowd, causing the girls to scream in want and excitement. Rush has that allure that makes you want to bring out the bad girl inside.
I look over at Slate, the lead guitarist, the leader of the group. I smile thinking how steady headed he is, but he brings out this carnal side whenever he is about to take me. I can feel myself starting to blush. Like he knows I’m looking, he looks over at me, giving me a wink and causing me to blush even more.
Caspian, the bassist, the sweetheart, if I’m ever upset or worried, all it takes is his touch, his hand in mine and I always feel calmer. I feel like I can always open up more to him.
Zeke, the drummer, the one that makes you smile and laugh. I think he hides behind his humor, but when he is near me, I feel like he wants to show his true self but doesn’t know how or is scared to.
I watch each of them, amazed that they are mine. They are so engrossed in playing they look like they are in a world of their own.
Now that they can walk in sunlight, after becoming daywalkers, which are rare vampire breeds, they have changed the tour line-up, doing a few shows during the day. It also helps that their eyes don’t go all veiny when drinking blood now. They can socialize more, without worrying about the human world feeling scared when seeing them drink amongst them.
You can still tell when they are turned on though, their eyes still go all black, but I find that a turn on.
I like knowing when they want me.
This is the last show on tour, and I can tell the guys are going to miss it. Being on the road, meeting their fans, just concentrating on playing and their music.
Rush sings the last words; the music stops but the crowd screams out for more. Rush takes hold of his microphone, running his hands through his wet hair. I think a few girls faint watching the simple movement.
“I’m afraid that’s it for us, guys.” Everyone boos, causing the guys to chuckle. “You have been amazing, and we hope to see you again. We love you.” He waves and steps back before walking away from the stage toward me.
“They can never get enough of you,” I say jokingly.
“You know what I can’t get enough of?” He pulls me into him, his body covered in sweat, planting a deep kiss on my lips, and my eyes close on their own accord. “You,” he whispers.
I open my eyes, looking into his, seeing the warmth shining from them. We hear a cough to the side of us; Rush gives me a smirk before we turn to see the rest of the guys standing there.
“Have you ever heard of sharing?” Zeke complains, taking hold of my hand and pulling me to his side. “Did you enjoy the show?” he asks me.
“You know I enjoy all your shows.”
He gives me a huge smile, kissing the side of my head. We all start walking toward the guys changing room. Slate and Caspian talking behind us about the music they are writing.
Once we are in the room, I take a seat on the black leather couch on the far end, tucking my legs underneath me, going through my Facebook newsfeed while the guys take turns having a shower.
Seeing each of them strip down to basically nothing but their jeans, they look like they could pose for a front cover of a magazine. Watching each one come out dripping wet with only a towel around their waist, I try hard and keep my eyes on my phone. We haven’t got the time for sex, and we actually haven’t had sex with all of us since that night a few weeks ago.
Sighing, I continue to scroll through my phone, checking my Facebook and emails. I roll my eyes when I see a message asking if I’m romantically involved with one of the members of the band. We haven’t gone public yet; we said we were going to get the tour over with first then let the world know that I am with Beaten Hart.
I told the guys that I don’t mind keeping it to ourselves with just people who are close to us knowing, but no, the guys want the world to know that I am theirs.
I’m surprised no one at that supernatural council party ratted on us, especially when they saw the band claiming me. Just thinking back to then, thinking how Rick already started testing me.
The thing that bothers me though is all those that attended that party, knowing they are bad people, knowing they are walking around out there doing god knows what. They must have heard that I have taken Rick’s place.
I am just waiting for the first attack.
It’s just been a few weeks, but I am sure rumors are going around.
“Penny for your thoughts.” Slate sits next to me, taking hold of my hand. “You looked deep in thought.”
“I guess I was. I was just thinking about what happens next. The council. Those that attended that council party,” I sigh.
“We are going to deal with this together, not just you. We are going to do good, you just have to remember that. Those that were at the party, they are going to have to change their ways or face the consequences. They knew at some point they couldn’t get away with their shit forever. We will take one day at a time; don’t stress that pretty head of yours.” He rubs his thumb over my knuckles.
“You think I have a pretty head?” I tease.
“I think everything about you is beautiful. Inside as well as out.” He leans in toward me, kissing me. His lips press softly against mine.
I move closer to him, pressing my body against his. Wrapping my arms around his neck, arching into him, I know I need more. Since seeing each of them nearly naked, my libido has skyrocketed. My breathing is coming in faster, and my body is starting to ache. I deepen the kiss as he growls into my mouth.
“I need you inside me,” I breathe against his lips, opening my eyes to see his have gone dark. He stands up, taking hold of my hand and leading me past Caspian and Rush, out the door, guiding me down a hallway to a secluded corner that is hidden in darkness.
He pins me against the wall, raising my hands above my head, using one of his hands to keep them in place as he uses his other to glide down my neck to my breasts, down my stomach to my covered pussy.
I whimper when he takes his hand away. He cups my cheek before he kisses m
e, pressing his body against me, making me feel his erection.
I need it inside me.
I need him inside me.
“Slate, please,” I pant against his mouth.
He releases my hands and straight away my hands are in his hair, pulling, while I kiss him again but with such a hungry need. I feel his hands slip to the hem of my dress, lifting it slowly, trailing his fingers up my thighs until I feel him touch my bare pussy.
I have stopped wearing underwear unless I am going somewhere that I will feel uncomfortable going commando, but with how many panties they have ripped, I just gave up wearing them.
Slate’s fingers slide against my wet folds, spreading my juices before three fingers slip inside, stretching me. Already, my legs start to shake.
I feel his thumb near my clit, but he is teasing me, not touching me where I want him most. His fingers leave and enter me slowly; I feel myself getting to that euphoric high, but I just can’t reach it.
I dig my nails into his shoulders, resting my head near his neck. I want him to go harder.
Faster.
Without thinking, I bite his neck, and it’s like a switch has been flipped. In the speed of light, I am being flipped, my body now pressed against the wall, Slate pinning his body against mine, making sure there is no space between us.
His fingers are on my clit, rubbing it as his other hand lifts my dress back up. I feel the cold air hit my naked ass. I bite my lip when I feel his dick touch the entrance of my pussy, him pulling me back a little. I use my hands to keep me steady against the wall.
After what feels like hours, but which must be just mere seconds, he rams inside me, causing me to scream out in pleasure. His hands hold onto my hips, thrusting inside me, hitting that spot that is so intense that I want to scream out for more and for it to stop, all at the same time.
It’s too much.
I feel that ache getting stronger; I’m close to my release.
It’s building higher and higher; I feel my body heat up. Quickly opening my eyes, I see my body start to glow.
Not this again.
Since I became this greater power person, whenever I’m about to come, my body seems to glow and then a flash of light escapes me. It wouldn’t bother me if it didn’t let people know that I am having an orgasm.
Slate doesn’t stop though, he keeps going, going harder, his fingers digging harder into me. He pulls me closer to him, my back to his front, gripping hold of my neck, and he bites down, his fangs piercing me, drinking from me. I scream out, my orgasm hitting me like a tornado. My body starts to feel limp as Slate thrusts a few more times, still drinking from me until he growls out, releasing himself inside of me.
My whole body feels like jelly. Slate kisses my neck before pulling out. I turn and slide down the wall, taking a seat on the floor, getting my breathing under control. I press my hand against my chest, my heart beating a million times a second.
Will I ever get bored of this?
I know I won’t.
“You glowed again.” Slate sits next to me, entwining his fingers with mine.
“Yeah, kind of noticed. I need to control it as it’s really annoying.”
“Least I know that you’re not faking it.” He smiles at me, and I push his shoulder with mine. “You will be able to control it; there’s going to be things that are going to be new to you when it comes to your power, but you will learn how to harness it.” He lifts my hand to his lips, planting a comforting kiss.
“But for the time being, every time I come, the whole world will be able to tell if they are within a mile radius of me.” I pout.
“Good thing the tour is over, and we will be moving into our new home.” He stands, placing his hand out for me to take, helping me up.
Our new home. “Don’t remind me. I’m already nervous.” I don’t want to think of all the new responsibility I will have, come tomorrow.
“Come on, let’s have a few drinks. I was hoping I would have helped to keep your mind off things.” He walks toward the meet and greets room.
“You did, the glow is proof enough, but I’ve always been a worrier, it’s a curse.” I shrug. We get to the meet and greet room. “I’m going to quickly go use the bathroom first, clean up and all that.”
“Don’t be too long.” He kisses my lips, and I watch him enter the room.
Sighing, I head back to the changing rooms, using the bathroom. Once I feel ready to go back, I head to the long mirror to make sure I look okay. I bite my lip, looking around the room; I know no one is here, but just double checking. I look in the mirror before closing my eyes. When I open them again, my dark hair has gone white blonde, my skin is perfectly flawless, my dress gone, and in its place is white silk covering my intimate parts.
This is what I look like as the greater power. I look so much prettier, near enough perfect as this. I can’t help but look at myself like this when I am alone. I move my body side to side, inspecting myself, doing poses in the mirror when I hear movement, and I turn to see Caspian watching me. In a blink of an eye, I go back to looking like me.
“What are you doing?” he asks me, coming over.
“Nothing, I was just looking…” Looking at what? A supermodel version of myself. How can I explain that?
“I get it. It’s all right to be curious. When I became a vampire, every flaw I ever had vanished, but it’s those flaws that make us, us.” He stands beside me, and we both look at our reflections.
“I just feel that the new version of me is better. I like knowing it’s me. But at the same time, I’m jealous of it. Do you like that version of me?” I ask him, his eyes connecting with mine in the mirror.
“I fell for the brunette who walked into my life a couple of months ago, the one who took no shit from anyone, the person who protected those that needed protecting. I’m in love with your soul, your heart. You.”
Tears prickle my eyes. “Thank you,” I whisper. He always knows what to say.
“You don’t need to thank me, and you don’t need to apologize for wanting to see yourself as the other version of you; you are both the same person. You can’t be jealous of yourself. Now, let’s go before they send out a search party for us.” He takes my hand, and we head to the meet and greet. I smile when I see the room full of people.
I see teenagers telling the members of the band how amazing their music is and how they want to be musicians when they are older. I remember when I used to see vampire groupies hang off the guys and try and drink from the fans.
Caspian guides me through to where the guys are, when they see me, they all give a smile before continuing talking or listening to their fans.
In the next hour, I help take photos and talk to fans about the band and their music. It was nice to be included. I am walking around the room and I smile when I spot the two children I met the first day I met the band.
“Hey guys, got your tickets then?” I beam at them.
The girl shrieks and runs to me, wrapping her arms around my waist, hugging me. She pulls back with a huge smile. I look at her older brother who gives me a wave with a little blush on his cheeks.
“I can’t believe I am here again. I was up front. I was so close to the stage, it was crazy,” Celia, I think her name is, says.
“Did you enjoy the show?” I ask her brother JD.
“Yeah it was cool, so no bad vampires this time around.” He looks around the room like he is waiting any second to go and protect his sister if needed.
“No bad vampires. Remember, it’s my job to keep them away. Just hate that it had to happen the first place. I am sorry about…”
I get interrupted when I hear a man’s voice call out the kid’s names. “I thought you two left me,” the guy who I presume is their father says, coming over chuckling. He looks up at me and smiles. “Hi, I’m Clive, Celia and JD’s father.”
“Ivory Bennett.” I shake his hand.
“She is the bands PA, the one that saved me with her magic,” Celia says, looking
up at me with her big eyes.
“You’re the one who protected my daughter?” I don’t have a chance to answer when he comes over and hugs me. “Thank you. I had a phone call to make and if I’d known what would happen, I wouldn’t have let them go in without me; they are all I have.” I see tears in his eyes. I remember Celia mention her mother passed giving birth to her.
“It shouldn’t have happened at all. I’m just happy that I was there and stepped in. Your children are lovely.” I smile at them.
“You should see them when it’s time to wake up for school. You might think differently then,” he says, and I chuckle.
“I can imagine.”
“Bet working with a band that are vampires is interesting. Bet it keeps you on your toes.”
“That’s one way to put it,” I laugh. “I have come to love working here though.” And the band, I think to myself.
“So with the tour over, what will you be doing, you in town for long?” He smiles at me, and I bite my lip, looking at the guys and like I knew they would, they are watching our exchange. I give them a look to stop it, but they don’t, and I roll my eyes.
“This is actually my hometown, so we will be staying here while the band records their new songs, I’ll be around to help when needed.” I can still feel all their eyes on me, and I feel myself starting to flush.
“Will we get to see you and the band more often?” Celia asks jumping up and down.
“Celia, I am sure she and the band will be very, very busy to see us,” he laughs. “Unless you’re ever free, then we could go for coffee or something?” he asks hopefully.
My eyes almost bug out. He’s asking me out. I clear my throat. “I’m afraid I’m kind of seeing someone.” Well someones.
I see the smile on his face fall. “Of course, you would be, why do I feel like I just embarrassed myself?” He chuckles but it’s a little forced.
“No, don’t be silly, I am very flattered. If I wasn’t seeing someone…”
“Who are you seeing?” Celia interrupts me.
