Something About Eve (An Eve Sumptor Book 1) Page 18

by Jourdyn Kelly

Eve sat up, bringing Lainey with her, sliding the straps of Lainey’s bra off her shoulders. Lainey fell back against the bed, gasping as Eve’s lip traveled down over her stomach. Her body shook uncontrollably and she gripped the sheets, arching her body as Eve’s hands cupped her breasts and Eve’s tongue worked lower on her stomach, outlining her panties at the waist. She felt Eve slipping off her panties and felt as though her body would explode at any moment.

Eve saw Lainey close her eyes and took a moment to just look at her. Such an amazing body, Eve thought, so soft, so beautiful. She marveled at how steady her hands were as she touched Lainey. Inside, she was feeling anything but steady. Each kiss, each touch was a new sensation for Eve, and she loved the learning process. As much as she wanted Lainey’s hands on her, Eve wanted to please Lainey more, to show her how it felt to be cherished. She lay next to Lainey again, their naked bodies meeting and fixed her eyes on Lainey’s.

“I don’t know what to do,” Lainey whispered.

“Just relax,” Eve told her. “Let me please you.” She lowered her mouth to Lainey’s and kissed her gently. “This is for you, don’t think about anything. Just feel.”

Eve spread Lainey’s legs gently. Running her fingertips up Lainey’s thighs, she felt Lainey tense.

“You can tell me to stop at any time, honey,” she murmured, her voice hoarse with desire.

Lainey shook her head. “I don’t want you to stop.” She gripped the sheets above her head as Eve continued her journey up her thighs.

Eve touched Lainey, feeling her soft velvety wetness and let out a guttural sound of pure pleasure from the sheer thrill of finally knowing what it was like to feel Lainey.

Lainey cried out, her body convulsing as the orgasm rocked her.

“I’m sorry.” A tear rolled down Lainey’s cheek. She hadn’t expected that to happen and was embarrassed and disappointed at letting Eve down.

“It’s okay, baby.” Eve licked the tear from Lainey’s cheek. “It’s only your first one. I’m not done with you.”

“You don’t understand,” Lainey said sadly. “I’ve never had multiple orgasms. I don’t think I can.”

As soon as the words were spoken, she realized that Eve was arousing her again, massaging her gently and teasing Lainey’s ear with her teeth.

“You’ve never been with me before. You can, and you will,” Eve vowed. “I promise.” She felt Lainey move her body as she urged her up again.

“Eve.” Lainey moaned, stunned by what was happening to her. She became aware of Eve moving and watched in bewilderment as Eve positioned her body over Lainey’s. Then Eve brought her head down to kiss Lainey’s breasts, moving lower to her stomach. When Lainey realized where Eve was going her pulse jumped, her body shook and her breathing quickened.

“I’m not as confident as you think I am,” Eve told her, reading Lainey’s mind. “Tell me if I’m doing something wrong.”

Lowering her head, she tasted Lainey.

“God!” Lainey arched her body, as Eve probed her with her tongue.

Moaning, Eve pulled Lainey closer, their movements becoming faster and more desperate. She brought Lainey to the edge with her mouth, and then sent her tumbling over by using her hands.

“Oh my God!” Lainey opened her eyes when she felt Eve’s warm body next to hers again. “What did you do to me?”

Eve frowned slightly. “You didn’t like it?”

“Are you kidding me? I loved it! I’ve never felt anything like that before.”

Eve gave Lainey a shy smile. It was the first time she had seen Eve be anything but confident, and she found it endearing.

“I’m certainly not a virgin, but what you just did to me made me feel like it was my first time.”

Eve propped herself up on one elbow. “I’m glad you enjoyed it.” She bent down and kissed her playfully.

“What about you, Eve?” Lainey said, blushing. “How was it for you?”

“I’ve dreamt of doing these things to you since the first moment I saw you,” Eve confessed. “You’re surprised. Well, it surprised me, too. No one has ever had that effect on me.”

No one except Adam. Eve didn’t want to ruin the moment by mentioning his name.

  “Especially another woman.”

This moment was so surreal to Eve. Just days ago, she would have never imagined that she would be in bed with anyone other than Adam. Now, with Lainey beneath her, she can’t imagine being anywhere else.

“I don’t know what it is about you,” Eve continued. “It’s more than your amazing beauty. Don’t do that. Look at me.” She waited until Lainey looked at her, then bent down and kissed her passionately. “Believe me when I tell you that you are beautiful.”

Lainey’s breath caught when Eve’s hand found its way back between Lainey’s thighs. “Eve. I can’t possibly do that again.” She buried her hands in Eve’s hair as Eve proved her wrong all over again.

Eve made love to Lainey until they were both spent. They fell asleep in each other’s arms, a first for Eve, each dreaming of the incredible time they just experienced.

Eve woke to Lainey’s head on her breast, her legs wrapped around her. She was immediately aroused as well as a bit unsettled by Lainey’s presence. She felt Lainey stir and stretch her body. The movement was so sensual, the contact to Eve’s naked body so unbelievably rousing that she had to control the urge to wake her. Suddenly awake, Lainey tensed and tried to move away without waking Eve until she felt the other woman’s arm tighten around her.

“Mmm. Don’t move. I like you like this,” Eve told her sleepily. “Are you okay?”

Lainey relaxed considerably when she felt Eve’s arms tight about her. “I’m not so nervous anymore,” Lainey said, snuggling closer.

  “You were nervous?”

“A little.” Lainey shrugged, adding sheepishly, “I didn’t know what to expect, the morning after.”

“I understand,” Eve said and brushed a finger down Lainey’s nose. “This is all very new to me. I mean waking up with someone next to me. No one has ever stayed the night before.”

  “Not even Ad...”

  “No one,” Eve interrupted.

“So, I’m your first?” Lainey teased.

“Yes, in more ways than one,” Eve laughed.

“I like being your first,” Lainey said with a note of quiet seductiveness.

Eve raised an eyebrow and bent to kiss Lainey’s waiting lips. The kiss turned passionate, both women moving closer to deepen it. Eve felt Lainey’s hand lightly caressing her breasts and felt her nipples harden in response. Then Lainey’s touch traveled timidly to Eve’s stomach, inching lower. God, she wanted Lainey to touch her so badly that it took all of her strength to stop her.

“Mmm. Not yet,” Eve whispered hoarsely, covering Lainey’s hand with hers.

“You don’t want me to touch you?” Lainey asked, baffled.

“I do. Just not yet.” She brought Lainey’s hand up to her breast, holding it there. “Touch me anywhere but there. Touch me everywhere but there, Lainey.”

“Okay.” Lainey didn’t understand, but she would give Eve all the time she needed. When Eve was ready, Lainey would try to please Eve as much as Eve had pleased her.

Eve turned, pushing Lainey down against the bed and bent her head to kiss her. She slipped her hand between Lainey’s thighs. “Soon,” she whispered. “Very soon.” Eve worked on Lainey, arousing her lazily, teasing Lainey’s tongue with her own.

Lainey had begun to move her body with Eve’s rhythm when the phone rang startling them both.

“Don’t stop,” Lainey begged Eve. Obediently, Eve ignored the ringing of the phone, letting her machine pick up.

“It’s Eve. You know what to do.”

“This is Jack Stanton.” Eve froze. “Could you tell my wife to call me, please? Tell her, her sons are wondering why their mother didn’t sleep at home last night. Thank you.”

He hung up the phone with a distinctive click and Ev
e and Lainey just lay there for a moment, speechless, both of them motionless.

Lainey put her hand on Eve’s and began moving it again. “Don’t stop. Make me forget, Eve. Make me forget everything.”

Eve rolled on top of Lainey and positioned herself between Lainey’s legs, bringing Lainey’s knees up. She placed her hand between their bodies and slowly put her fingers inside Lainey.

“More, Eve. Please,” Lainey pleaded breathlessly.

Eve moved faster, deeper, harder until both of them forgot everything except each other.

Only when she woke up, stretching and reaching for Lainey did Eve find her gone. It was nearly ten in the morning, and she realized that she had been asleep for two hours.

“Lainey?” She listened for an answer or the sound of the shower, anything to indicate that Lainey was still there. As she tossed her legs over the side of the bed, she saw Lainey’s jeans and t-shirt on the floor. Blowing her hair out of her eyes, she let out a small laugh. Never before had she been afraid that someone wouldn’t be there when she woke up. Picking up Adam’s shirt, she slipped it on. She felt incredible. The night, and morning, she had just shared with Lainey was more beautiful than she could ever have imagined. But it infuriated her that Lainey was able to slip past the bodyguards she had hired, and now she had to attend to those matters. Looking at the door to make sure she was alone, Eve picked up the phone and dialed.

“It’s me,” she said. “I’m not alone so I don’t have much time. First, is Katherine safe?”

  “Yes, ma’am.”

  “Is she cooperating?”

  “Not yet.”

“Convince her that she needs to work with you. I don’t care how you do it, just do it. Listen, Lainey Stanton showed up at my apartment last night. Alone. I told you to watch her.”

“We did ma’am. She went home. We just assumed that she would stay there.”

“Never assume anything. If anything happens to her...”

Eve’s voiced trailed off. She didn’t want to think about that because she knew now that she couldn’t bear it if something happened to Lainey. “Don’t slip up again. Understood? She’s with me now. I’ll be in touch when I need you.”

Lainey’s with me now, Eve thought to herself, but for how long? She picked up Lainey’s shirt and held it to her nose. Eve closed her eyes and breathed in Lainey’s scent. What in the hell was it about Lainey that had such a hold on her? She folded the shirt and put it with Lainey’s jeans, then went in search of Lainey.

She found Lainey downstairs standing in front of the stove, wearing Eve’s silk nightshirt, cooking.

  “You’re cooking for me?”

“Oh!” Lainey jumped and dropped the spatula. For a long moment they looked at one another and remembered the way it felt to be in each other’s arms.

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. Smells good.” Eve bent and sniffed Lainey’s neck. “Smells even better.”

“There’s bacon and scrambled eggs,” Lainey said, tucking her hair behind her ear. “I didn’t know what you liked, but I took a gamble since all of this was in your refrigerator.”

“Are you nervous again?” Eve asked her, putting her mouth to Lainey’s ear. “Don’t be nervous with me ever again.” She turned Lainey until they were face-to-face and kissed her. “Please?”

“I promise,” Lainey said. “Now, go sit down. It’s almost ready. I made some fresh squeezed orange juice for you.”

“I had oranges?” Eve picked up the glass and took a drink.

Lainey laughed. “Yes. Don’t you know what you buy at the grocery store?”

“I don’t usually shop.” Eve took another sip of the orange juice. “This is really good. Thank you. You know you didn’t have to do all of this.”

“I wanted to.” Lainey transferred the eggs and bacon, together with pancakes on to a plate for Eve and set it down in front of her. Her husband’s call that morning had upset her, but right now she didn’t want to think about him. Right now, all she wanted was to have this time with Eve. “What do you mean you don’t shop?”

“I have someone that does it for me,” Eve told her. “I just can’t seem to find the motivation to go to the grocery store.” As Lainey reached for the coffee cups Eve was rewarded with a glimpse of Lainey’s bare ass.

“You look great in my shirt,” Eve told her. It felt wonderful to wake up and have someone there to do something as simple as have breakfast together. It felt amazing to have that someone be Lainey.

“I feel great in your shirt,” Lainey told her, reaching over the island to kiss Eve as she set the coffee cup in front of her.

“How do you know where everything is?”

  “What?”

“The knives and forks, the plates, the coffee cups. How do you know where to find them?”

“Oh. I had to search for them, but I did that before you came down.” Lainey chuckled. “I should have just told you that I’m just good.”

“I would have believed that,” Eve said and winked wickedly.

“Eat,” Lainey ordered with a giggle and handed Eve a fork.

“Hmm, that would be my pleasure. But, can you wait until I have some food?”

  “Eve!”

Eve laughed. “I’m joking. But, only a little. You know, usually I don’t eat breakfast, but after last night, I’m famished. Another first for me.” She took another forkful of eggs. “Mmm. These are very good.”

“Thank you. They’re my sons’ favorite.” Lainey’s voice trailed off as she thought about Kevin and Darren and the phone call Jack had left.

“Lainey? Honey, are you okay?” Eve reached over and took Lainey’s hand.

“Yes. I can’t stand it when he does that to me. Like it’s all my fault that we’re fighting. He always tries to make me feel guilty about the boys.”

“Do you? Feel guilty?” Eve asked and held her breath for the answer.

“Not about being with you, Eve. But, what am I going to tell my sons? Daddy and I are fighting so I went over to Eve’s house to sleep with her?”

“Is that why you slept with me?” Eve asked her, suddenly wary. “Because you are fighting with Jack?”

“No! God, Eve, I didn’t mean it that way. I’m sorry.”

“It’s all right. I just needed to make sure that wasn’t the only reason.”

“It’s not even a reason. I was with you because I wanted to be, because I needed you. You must know that. I’ve needed you since the moment you said hello to me, even though I don’t know why because this has never happened to me before.”

She walked around the island to Eve and touched her cheek.

“Last night meant so much to me. And, this morning. And the next time we make love.”

“The next time?” Eve teased, pulling her closer, between her spread legs. “Will that be soon?”

“I hope so.” Lainey ran her fingers through Eve’s hair, tugging Eve to her and kissing her sensually.

“Mmm. So do I.” Eve wrapped her legs around Lainey’s waist. “But, first, let’s work out this guilt you have about Kevin and Darren. I don’t think you should give them too many details about what you’ve been doing. But, tell them the truth.”

“The truth. It’s not that simple with kids, Eve.”

“Yes, it is.” Eve sighed when Lainey looked unconvinced. “I don’t have kids, baby, but, I do remember what it’s like to be one and have your parents tell you that everything is fine. My mother tried to tell me every day that nothing was wrong. And every day, I knew she was lying and I hated her for that, that she didn’t love me or trust me enough to tell me the truth. She died before I had the chance to forgive her, or help her. Don’t do that to them, Lainey. Kids are more perceptive than you want to believe. Tell them the truth.”

Lainey touched Eve’s cheek with her fingertips. It was the first time Eve had told her so much about herself. Lainey’s heart opened even more.

“So, I tell them the truth,” she said. “But what happens if they th
ink it’s my fault that Jack and I are fighting? What if they blame me because I’m working just like Jack does? What if they think I’m angry at them or that I’m here instead of at home because I don’t want to spend time with them?”

Eve took Lainey’s face in her hands. She hated seeing her worry so much and she hated what Jack was doing to her. “Then we prove them wrong.”

  “How?”

“We take them somewhere. Do something fun with them.”

It was, Lainey discovered, an idea that excited her. Something about it seemed so right. “Where?”

“I don’t know.” Eve chuckled. “We can take them to Coney Island, or the zoo, or rollerblading around Central Park. We can take them anywhere you want, baby.”

  “We?”

“Yeah.” Eve lowered her gaze, unsure. “Unless you don’t want me to go.”

“I do!” Lainey traced Eve’s lips with her finger. “You want to spend time with my kids?”

“Of course. Honey, I like Kevin and Darren, very much. I would like the opportunity to get to know them better.”

Lainey stared into Eve’s eyes. “What is it about you, Eve?” she asked quietly, still tracing Eve’s mouth. Suddenly she crushed her mouth to Eve’s and kissed her deeply, as their bodies fused.

Eve moaned, fisting her hands in Lainey’s hair. Reluctantly she broke the kiss, and pressed her forehead to Lainey’s. “Hmm, why don’t you call them and see if they’d like to go do something with us. You can use the phone in here if you want.” She kissed Lainey gently on the lips again. “I’ll just finish eating – my breakfast.”

Lainey laughed and playfully pushed away from Eve. “You do that. Just leave room for dessert.” Lainey took a deep breath as she picked up the phone. “I hope Jack doesn’t answer,” she said.

“So do I,” Eve mumbled and took a bite of her pancakes.

“Hi, honey,” Lainey said when Darren answered. “It’s Mommy.”

  “Hi, Mommy! Where are you?”
