“But…I spoke on the phone with Carl last night myself.” Maia kept smiling, but there was a hard, cold knot in her belly. How, exactly, had they ‘taken care of’ Carl?
“Yup,” Dub nodded. “And right afterwards we had our talk with him.” Now he grinned. “Come on, missy. You think that just ‘cause we live simple out here we gotta be simple-minded too?”
“Why no, of course not!” Maia struggled to keep her composure. She wanted to run screaming out of the office, jump into her car and not take her foot off of the accelerator until she was at least two counties away. There wasn’t the least chance of her doing that. The cop blocked her route and he didn’t seem to have any intention of moving. Until she had an opening, however small, she would have to string things along and maybe create an opportunity.
Dub sighed wearily and stood up. Maia had previously guessed him to be about six-five, but now he seemed to loom even larger. In spite of her efforts to appear calm, Maia instinctively stepped back from him.
“Y’all are under arrest, missy,” the cop said. He pulled a pair of handcuffs from the pouch at his belt and started towards her.
“What? This is ridiculous!” Maia protested. “On what charge?”
“How ‘bout conspiracy to defraud, for starters,” Dub chuckled. “After that…well, I’ll bet you got some outstandin’ warrants for you, missy. I ‘spect lotsa people are lookin’ for you, but you prob’ly change your name like most wimmen change their clothes.” As the county cop cuffed Maia’s hands behind her, Dub came around the desk and looked down at her. “What’s your real name, hey? I’ll betcha you don’t even remember.”
Maia flinched away. It was early, but it smelled like Dub had already been drinking. She felt the cuffs, cold and hard around her wrists. Her chance would come. It had to. She’d been in prison exactly once in her life, years ago when she was still green. It had only been for a month, but she never, ever wanted to go back.
“Come ‘long now, missy.” The cop took her by her upper arm and steered her towards the door.
“Where’s Carl?” she asked desperately. “Where is he?”
“Don’t you worry ‘bout your friend,” Dub chuckled as he followed along. “Don’t you worry ‘bout him at all. Y’all best just worry ‘bout yourself.”
The street was still dusty and deserted when they stepped outside. Maia looked around, hoping to see somebody, anybody. There was only a stray dog trotting along down the street.
“Don’t you go getting’ any ideas, missy,” Dub warned. He nodded towards the cop. “He’s got hisself a taser, and he’ll use it if y’all try to kick up a fuss. Hey, Ricky-boy, no need to hike all the way there. Let’s use my truck.”
“Fine by me, cousin,” the cop shrugged. He steered Maia to the passenger door of Dub’s truck, opened it without ever letting go of her arm, and shoved her roughly into the cab. Dub had already climbed into the driver’s seat. It was a big, wide truck, but the two men took up so much room that Maia felt herself squeezed tightly between them. The cuffs were digging into her wrists painfully. Something felt very, very wrong about the situation, but that could just be due to her shock at how quickly everything had gone to shit. She sat as still and as quietly as she could, unwilling to risk making the cop use that taser.
Dub backed his pickup out into the street and turned left. Maia knew that the police station was in the other direction. Panic seized her.
“Where are we going?” she asked. Neither man replied. All dub did was floor the gas pedal. The pickup roared forward. The lone dog jumped up onto the curb and barked as it went by.
“Where are we going?” Maia shrieked. She started to move, trying to get to the opened window on the cop’s side to scream for help. Dub backhanded her as casually as if he was swatting at a fly. Her head banged off of the rear window hard enough to make her see stars. Recovering, she tried to bite Dub’s arm, but the cop grabbed her hair and yanked her back. She kicked at his shin and connected. She heard him grunt painfully, and then he used the taser on her. Blue-white lightning bolts shot through her, and she went limp. She was still conscious, but her body didn’t seem to work.
They sped out of town down a narrow secondary road. Dub only slowed when he took a sharp turn off of it onto an even narrower gravel road. The truck bounced, jarring Maia. She could hear small stones pinging off the undercarriage. Still woozy, she tried to scream, and then to fight, until she felt the cop pressing the taser against her side.
“Settle down now, missy,” he said. Maia dissolved into tears. It wasn’t all an act: She was terrified now, dreading whatever these hillbillies had planned for her. Dub kept silent, concentrating on keeping his truck on the road, which was now barely wide enough for it. Maia let herself be tossed against one of the men, then the other as they swerved around turns in the trail. A last, desperate plan began forming in her mind. She recoiled from it at first, but the further they drove into those piney woods the less unattractive it seemed.
“Uh…look…” she said. “I’m sure we can work something out here…”
“Like what?” Dub snapped without ever looking at her.
“There’s no real harm done yet, is there?” she asked hopefully. When she didn’t get an answer she swallowed before continuing.
“Look…I guess Carl and I tried something stupid. Isn’t there some way I can make it up to you? Then I’ll leave town and you’ll never see me again. I promise!”
The truck veered and she was thrown against Dub. She managed to twist her body so that her breast was pressed against his big, meaty arm. She’d seen how he’d looked at her before, and had tried to use his evident interest to further the con. Now all she could do was try to use it to keep him from hurting her.
“Y’all just sit back and shut up, missy,” Dub growled. “Less’n I have Ricky-boy use that taser again. Damn thing has a kick like an ornery mule when he jacks it up on ‘high’. Like to make you pee your little panties.”
Maia was already like to pee her little panties, even though she hadn’t even stopped for coffee earlier and there was nothing to work with.
“No, please…” she gulped. “Don’t. I’ll behave.”
“Smart girl,” Dub chuckled. “No need to make things no more unpleasant than they already is.”
They rode in silence, Maia trying to control her shaking body. The only weapons she had now were words and her body, and it was quite clear that they didn’t want to listen to her talk. She arched her back a little and drew her shoulders back so that her breasts were straining against the material of her blouse. She saw Dub glance briefly at her cleavage and let herself feel the faintest ray of hope.
Dub seemed to know exactly where he was driving. That wasn’t surprising. As far as Maia knew, he’d never been out of the county but once in his life. But it was still unnerving that he was so sure of where he was going, and how very far away from town it seemed to be. Right now, jail seemed a much better place to be to her than here in this truck.
“Where’s Carl?” she asked plaintively, risking a shot from the taser because she just had to know.
“Don’t need to worry none ‘bout him,” Dub replied. He said no more. Maia made as if to press the question and then she felt the taser pressing into her side again. She bit her lip and was quiet. The rest of the ride seemed to take hours, but it couldn’t have been more than fifteen minutes before Dub finally pulled to a stop at the edge of a wide clearing. The far side of the clearing looked as if people had been dumping their garbage there for generations. The heap was a jumble of bags, sacks, rusty metal, old cans, broken bottles, bundled newspapers soggy and mildewed from past rains and other, less identifiable things. It was taller than Dub. As Dub opened his door she saw a rat scurry out of the pile and into the woods.
“We’s getting’ out here, missy,” Dub smiled at her.
“No!” Maia shrieked as she backed away from him. The cop put a beefy arm around her neck and dragged her, kicking and screaming, out on his side. When
she tried to stamp down on his instep he shifted his foot out of the way and gave her another shot of the taser. She gave one last, faint shriek and went limp. He let her fall to the loose, sandy ground. She struggled to rise, groaning.
“She’s puttin’ up more of a fight than that city dude did.” Maia raised her head to see who had spoken. She saw another clone of Dub, younger and thinner, coming out of the surrounding woods. He carried a shotgun slung over his shoulder. She shuddered and let her head drop, sobbing, trying to use her fear, which was painfully real now, to put on a convincing act.
“She is a mite feisty,” Dub agreed. He nudged her with one big, booted foot. “Kinda a shame.” He nudged her harder. “Get’cher ass up, bitch,” he growled. “Come on, get on yer feet.”
Shaking and sobbing, trying her best to look pitiful, Maia got to her feet. The handcuffs hampered her, but she managed. Maybe, just maybe, if she sobbed and sniffled and begged and promised them anything, anything at all, they would let her go.
“She is right pretty, like you said,” the newcomer observed. He smiled at Maia in a friendly way, but she saw a familiar look in his eye.
“She’s a lot prettier when she ain’t been cryin’ and ruinin’ her makeup,” Dub snorted. “But don’t you be fooled, boy. Don’t you be fooled at all.” He spat on the ground near Maia. “A rattlesnake’s a pretty critter too, in it’s own way, but it ain’t to be trusted.” He folded his big arms and looked Maia over, frowning. She started to open her mouth to plead for her life, but the look in Dub’s eyes turned all the words she had ready to use into one weak croak.
“Well,” Dub shrugged. “Ain’t no point in wastin’ time. Get them cuffs off’n her, Ricky-boy.” The cop quickly complied, stashing the cuffs back in their leather pouch. Maia rubbed her bruised wrists, looking from one man to the other and seeing no mercy in any of them.
Dub spat again, this time hitting Maia’s shoe. “Get’cher clothes off, missy,” he ordered.
“What?” Maia let her voice quaver as she clutched at the lapels of her tailored jacket. So they were going to fuck her, after all? She’d expected as much. The prospect made her feel ill, but it might give her some kind of opening. Hell, they might even just leave her there, alone but alive, after they were done.
“Y’all heard me, bitch,” Dub growled. “Wasn’t you offerin’ to screw us back in the truck just a little bit ago? I ain’t got all day. I got plans to go fishin’ with Judge Bates this afternoon, and I ain’t gonna let you make me late. Now, shuck them clothes, or do ya wanna have us do it for ya?”
“Don’t hurt me!” Maia pleaded, throwing up her hands. She started unbuttoning her jacket, letting her hands shake visibly. “I’ll do…” she gulped dramatically. “I’ll do anything you want!”
“Anything, eh?” Dub grinned. “We’ll see. Now, shuck them clothes, and be quick!”
Maia did her very best impression of a frightened woman on the verge of utter panic. It wasn’t hard, because that was exactly how she felt. She undressed hastily, clumsily, desperately, her heart pounding in her ears. She let her clothes fall where they may. Dub picked her brassiere up after she’d dropped it and inspected it, looking from it to her bare breasts and back again.
“Damn, missy,” he said angrily. “Ain’t there nothin’ about you that’s real?” He sounded disappointed. Maia merely whimpered as she struggled to remove her thigh-high stockings, balancing awkwardly on one foot and then the other as she rolled each one down and tugged it off. Now all that was left were her panties, cream-colored and frilly. She hesitated, looking at the men again, her eyes wide and scared.
“All of it,” Dub snapped. The man with the shotgun took it off of his shoulder, holding it at the ready. Maia whimpered loudly enough for them all to hear her and slid her panties off, stepping out of them. She held one arm across her breasts. Her other hand covered her loins. It suddenly felt very, very cold out here. She shivered.
“Well,” Dub drawled as he looked her over. “Leastaways you’s a real girl. Ricky-boy, y’all cuff her to that tree over yonder and let’s get outta here.”
“Hell, no!” the big cop replied. “Last time they was all rusty when I come back to get ‘em!”
“Y’all got a point,” Dub mused. “Think y’can tie her up nice an’ tight to the tree with them stockin’s she wore?”
Maia dropped to her knees. “No!” she begged. “Please don’t leave me here! You can do whatever you want to me, just don’t leave me here!” She crawled towards Dub, tears streaming down her face, sobbing and pleading. This was no act. She had a deathly fear of rats, and the thought of being bound to a tree as they crept closer and closer to her helpless body filled her with horror.
“What do you want?” she sniffled. “Please, tell me! Tell me what you want and I’ll do it! I will!”
Dub frowned down at her, implacable. “Y’all think we can’t get that for ourselves any time we want?” he growled.
“Well, now, hold on a minute, cousin,” the man with the shotgun spoke up. “She is a right pretty little piece. Got a cute ass.”
“Got a cute ev’rything,” the cop interjected. “She’s a city girl, too. Might know some tricks.”
Dub looked at them, exasperated. Maia reached out to touch his booted foot, and he stepped away from her.
“You two thinkin’ on fuckin’ this rattlesnake?” he demanded. He looked at his companions and sighed. “Looks like you both are,” he shrugged. “All right, but let’s make it quick, hey? An’ I’m goin’ first. Ricky-boy, y’all cuff her again. I don’t trust this here city bitch at all.”
Maia sniffled and sobbed as the cop cuffed her hands behind her again, but she didn’t struggle. It looked like they were going to let her make good on her promises, and if she did that well enough there was a chance they might just let her go. It was a slim chance, but it was the only one she had, so she was grabbing at it, no matter what she might have to do, or let them do. She felt beaten, broken, with no pride left, only an overwhelming desire not to be left out here alone with the rats. She stayed on her knees after she was cuffed, waiting to see what they wanted. Dub stepped up in front of her, still frowning. He started unbuckling his belt, and Maia knew right away what he was expecting.
“Lessee if that mouth o’ yours can do anythin’ besides tell lies, missy,” he said. “Y’all are gonna suck me off, an’ y’all are gonna swallow. You got that?”
“Yes, yes!” Maia nodded quickly. “I got it! I’ll do it!” She leaned forward, her mouth open, trying to show him how eager she was to please him. A moment later, Dub got his cock out and in spite of her intentions, Maia recoiled: It was as big and burly as Dub himself, and nowhere near erect yet. The three men all laughed at her reaction. It was a coarse, jeering laugh, but it gave her some hope that she’d live through this after all.
“Come on, missy,” Dub chuckled nastily. He took his cock in his hand and slapped her with it. “Do it.”
Maia licked her lips and blinked, then leaned forward, groping for the head of his cock with her mouth. She’d given head before, though she’d never much liked it, but doing it while her hands were fettered behind her made the job much more difficult. She took him in her mouth and began sucking, slowly and clumsily. She felt him growing harder, which made things easier, and larger, which didn’t. As he grew more and more erect she had to stretch her jaws painfully to accommodate him. After just a little while she was having trouble coordinating her sucking and her breathing. On top of all that, Dub was standing so close to her that as his cock swelled she had to lean back just to keep his cock from going down her throat. The second time she started coughing, Dub seemed to lose patience.
“She don’t know shit,” he snapped. “‘City girl’ my ass! Hold still, missy. I’ll do the work.”
Before she could do anything, Maia felt him clamp her head firmly between his big hands. She only had time for one protesting squeal before he started fucking her mouth, going deep enough to make her gag. She squirmed an
d writhed in his iron grip, trying to pull away. He didn’t seem to care. He was too strong for her, and he just kept going. She was just about to pass out when she heard him grunt. That was all the warning she had before he came in her mouth. Gagging and choking, she struggled futilely as Dub held her still until he was done. When he finally let go of her she coughed up gobs of cum as she bent over, gasping desperately for air.
“She don’t know nothin’ special,” Dub said as he moved away from her. “Y’all still want a piece of city-girl ass? Well, get at it and get it over with.”
Maia felt a hand on her back and another between her legs. She was past caring, even as big, blunt fingers began probing her pussy.
“Shit,” she heard the cop grumble as he pulled his fingers out. “She’s bone dry.” She heard him spit and then those fingers were thrust up inside of her again. He grunted, pulled his hand back. She heard him spit again, and then those fingers were back. Maia finally had enough breath back to moan miserably. The cop grabbed her by her hips. In spite of the spit and his clumsy fingering, she wasn’t quite wet enough yet, and she shrieked as he plunged his cock deep into her pussy. He didn’t seem to care any more than Dub had. All she could do was grit her teeth and endure it as his big belly slammed into her upturned ass over and over and over. Then she heard him grunt, just as Dub had, and stop moving. His big fingers dug painfully into her flesh as he ground himself empty. He slapped her ass hard, making her yelp, before he got up.
“She might not know anythin’, cousin,” she heard him say. “But she’s got a nice, tight pussy.”
“Not no more, I bet,” she heard Dub reply, and then she heard the three men laughing.
“Betcha her ass is even tighter.” It was the shotgun-toter who spoke. Maia felt a sudden chill. She hauled herself upright.
“Oh, no,” she begged. “Please no!”
