Runaways Page 9

  “What if…?” she said.

“We’ll hear the gate creak from here. It sounds like a cat being strangled.”

  “True.”

“And I’m not going to make love to you, not yet anyway, I just want do this.” He flicked the material aside and set a kiss over her pubic hair.

Her internal muscles clenched, and she ran her hand over his short, sharp buzz cut. What was it with Lucas and Mason, always pushing her to get naked out in the open?

“Like this.” He twisted her hips a little and lifted her left leg so it was over his shoulder. “So I can appreciate my first taste of woman.”

“Oh, God…” she gasped, knowing what he said was true. How could she deny him?

She didn’t want to. Lucas’s innocence was beyond sexy. Throw in his bad-boy looks that contrasted with his sweet words, and she was hooked on him.

He licked through her folds, taking his time, exploring, savoring, and delighting her.

She arched her back, drew up her other knee, and pressed her heel into the cushion covering the lounger.

He repeated the action, dipping the tip of his tongue into her entrance.

“Where, here?” He pushed into her again with his tongue.

“Mmm, that’s nice, but higher, on my clit.”

He smiled, and she wondered if he’d just wanted her to say the words.

He moved upward and used his fingers to draw back the flesh covering her clit.

She closed her eyes again and gave herself up to him. He worked her clit with the flat of his tongue, lapping at it and creating the first sparks of an orgasm.

Her left inner thigh was pressed against his ear, the other he was caressing with his fingertips, adding to her sensations.

“Oh, don’t stop,” she said after a few minutes. “It’s nearly. I’m…ahh, yeah…”

He eased two fingers into her damp pussy.

“Oh, like that, rub, in there.” She thrashed her head from side to side. He was pressing on her G-spot. If he just gave it a bit more of a massage…

She groaned when he did just that. Damn it, he was accurate.

Her belly tensed, and she gripped the sides of the lounger, fearful she’d spring right off it when the pressure inside released.

On and on he worked her clit, finger-fucking her at the same time. She held her breath. A wonderful climax was hovering within reach.

Then it was there. She coiled forward. Bliss spread over her body. Lucas kept up the pace, not letting her squirm away as the pleasure almost became too much. He held her tight, kept his fingers high and worked her internally.

“Lucas,” she panted. “Ah, fuck…yes…” Her breaths were hard to catch, and every muscle in her body seemed to be quivering.

When her orgasm receded, he lifted his head and smiled up at her. His lips and chin were damp. “Your girl-cum tastes amazing.”

She laughed. “You’re so fucking rude.”

“Says the girl with a man’s face between her legs.”

She laughed again, enjoying the self-satisfied expression he was wearing. Wonderful aftershocks were attacking her pussy and causing her to clench around his fingers. “Are you sure you’ve never done that before? You’re pretty damn good at it.”

“I owe that to the fact porn movies zoom in on these moments, and you know full well it’s only ever been you.” He slipped from her pussy then carefully refastened her bikini bottoms. She watched his big fingers manipulating the delicate satin tie and fought to catch her breath.

“And I’m honored,” she said. “Though there’s always room for improvement.”

“Why, what did I do wrong?” He stood straight and a shard of panic crossed his eyes.

“Nothing.” She squinted up at him and took his hand. Pulled him close. “I’m just saying it doesn’t hurt to spend a lifetime practicing.”

“Ha, I get what you’re saying.” With his free hand, he lifted the lounger so she was sitting at ninety degrees. It didn’t appear to be any effort for him to do that.

“Looks like you have a space issue going on in your swim shorts, Lucas.”

“Aye, you could say that.” He rubbed over what appeared to be a damn fine erection beneath his navy-blue trunks.

Olivia licked her lips. She was face height with his cock and wondered if she could help him out with his problem.

She looked over her shoulder at the balcony.

  Thankfully it was still empty.

She glanced in the direction of the driveway and the gate.

  Nothing.

“Let me,” she said, tucking her fingers into the waistband.

“Olivia,” he said, stilling completely and staring down at her. “But…”

She grinned. “It’s okay for me to get practically naked out here but not you?”

  “That’s not what I mean, it’s…”

  “What?”

  “Fuck, I won’t last long.”

“You don’t need to.” She pulled his shorts outward, then slipped them over the head of his cock.

The sight of it, with the small freckle on the end near his slit, sent renewed desire pumping into her veins.

“I’m so fucking hard,” he murmured, setting his hand on her head.

“I can see that.” She pushed the trunks lower and exposed him root to tip.

  “I didn’t mean…when I did that for you…you don’t have to return…”

“I want to, Lucas.” She slid the circle of her fingers down his length then leaned forward and swiped her tongue over his slit. “I want your cock in my mouth.”

“Looks like you two are having fun.”

The distant voice from the balcony shot panic through Olivia. She pulled back.

Lucas spun around, tucking himself away. “Fuck,” he muttered.

  She turned to the balcony.

Mason and Paul stood side by side. They both had their hands curled over the steel railing. Mason was grinning. Paul wore an expression of shock.

“Don’t mind us,” Mason called with a wave. “We’ll enjoy the show. Carry on.”

“Fuck,” Lucas muttered again and rubbing the nape of his neck as though it ached. “I didn’t hear anything.” He kept his back to her…and them. “Not the gate, a vehicle…nothing.”

Olivia was aware of burning heat spreading up her chest and over her cheeks. Had it just been Mason it wouldn’t have bothered her, but Paul, too, seeing her about to suck his brother’s cock.

  That was just too much.

Add in the fact Lucas was still so new to sex, and shy. The time they had together was sacred and private. He wasn’t ready to share it—and if he wasn’t, neither was she.

She checked her bikini was in all order then stood with her shoulders set back and her chin tipped. “How did you get on?”

“We did okay,” Mason called. “But Harry, Raul, and Evan are stuck down at The Waterside, trying to hire a truck.”

  “What’s the problem?”

“They don’t have a Heavy Goods Vehicle licence.”

“And we need a truck,” Paul said. “To transport all the stuff that’s been delivered—there’s tons of it.”

  “I have one,” she called.

  “What?” Paul said.

She shrugged. “I’ve got a HGV licence.”

“Really?” Paul frowned at her. “Why?”

“It’s part of my job. I don’t just fix old grannies cars, you know. And driving big stuff is part of the test process.”

Mason grinned. “That’s my girl.” He elbowed Paul. “See, not just a pretty face.”

“I guess not.” Paul frowned and studied her.

Olivia huffed. Seriously. Why was it such a surprise? She turned to Lucas and slipped her arm around his waist. “You okay?”

  “I am if you are.”

She kissed his sun-warmed arm, over his tattoo. “I would have liked another ten minutes ‘us’ time, but I guess we’ll have to put that on hold.”

He nodded, a little stiffly. “Aye, we will.”

“Looks like I need to get myself down to The Waterfront.”

  “Want me to come?”

“I’d like that.” She didn’t want to leave him like this. Something in the very core of her knew they needed to be together right now.

  Chapter Eleven

The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront was bustling with activity as Olivia exited a cab with Lucas. Boats rocked in the harbor, and a brightly colored clock tower stood tall beside a queue of people all apparently waiting to buy the latest smart phone. Jewelry shops were dotted about—each with a burly security guard outside—as were stalls selling souvenirs. Table Mountain rose in the distance, and today it had a flat layer of white cloud sitting on its surface like a tablecloth.

“I think it’s this way,” Lucas said, slipping his arm around Olivia’s waist.

“Yes, Mason said to go over the bridge and through the main street.”

They walked quickly, keen to get to Harry, Raul, and Evan.

Within a few minutes they’d arrived on the opposite side of the harbor. It was less touristy with offices, a supermarket, and beyond that a vehicle hire center sat next to a bus depot.

“There they are.” Olivia waved at Harry, who was sitting on a wall.

He spotted her, raised his arm, then spoke to Evan and Raul, who turned.

“You got here fast,” Harry said as they approached.

“They passed on the message, then?” Olivia said. “Mason called the office here.”

“Yeah, and like seriously, woman.” Harry laughed. “Really?”

  “What?”

“The HGV licence.” Evan shook his head. “You have one?”

“I don’t know why you’re all so bloody surprised, it was on my CV. Did no one read that?”

“Riley read it.” Harry set a kiss on her cheek. “But I should have looked more closely. You’re a woman with many talents.”

“Si.” Raul rubbed his hands together and grinned. “So clever in all things.”

“Ah, you’ll make me blush.” She laughed. “Stop it.”

“But have they got one?” Lucas said. “A big vehicle?”

  “Yeah.” Evan nodded.

“Good, because a serious amount of stuff has been delivered. A wee one, like the one the tent’s on, or the same as Paul has for the medical equipment, would be no use.”

“I get that,” Evan said. “And it’s fine. Now Olivia is here we can fill in the paperwork and get on with our day.”

Harry glanced at his watch. “And it’s getting late. We’ll still have to load up when we get back to Nokuzola.”

“Si, if we want to start on our way to Kaskum tomorrow, we need to be ready tonight.”

“Is that the plan, then?” Olivia asked.

“The sooner the better.” Evan shoved his hands in his jeans pockets. “Don’t you think?”

  She nodded. “Absolutely.”

Within half an hour, Olivia was climbing into the cab of a huge articulated truck which, although empty now, would be able to carry up to forty-four tonnes. It had a dark-blue exterior, with the name of the hire company on the front. Although it was fairly new and smart, it smelled of tobacco.

“Right, then,” she said, adjusting the seat so she could reach the shift stick and see out of the window. Whoever had driven it last must have been nearly twice as tall as she was.

Lucas and Raul climbed in with her. Harry and Evan had headed off to catch a cab back to the villa.

“It’s so big,” Raul said. “Too big.”

“It’s fine. As long as the roads don’t get too narrow going into the village, we’ll be okay.”

“That’s what I’m worried about,” Lucas said. “The infrastructure won’t be designed for this type of vehicle.”

She looked at him and shrugged. “But what choice do we have?”

“True.” He paused. “As long as you’re sure. I couldn’t drive this thing.”

“Of course I’m sure.” She started the engine, and a rumble vibrated through the cabin. “I’ve done this lots of times.”

Raul did a small bounce on the seat. “Off we go, and so high up.”

“Save your energy,” she said. “We’re going to be busy loading this thing for the rest of the day.”

The drive to Nokuzola was uneventful. Olivia soon familiarized herself with the cab, and the large roads of the city meant it was easy to navigate. Getting through the security gates at the bottom of the villa’s drive was a tight squeeze, but she managed it.

“Bloody hell,” Paul said, when she climbed down from the cab. “This thing is huge.”

“Luckily,” she said, swiping her palms together. “Because we’ve got a whole damn hospital to take.”

Raul jumped down and wrapped his arms around her waist; he tugged her close. “You are so damn sexy, my truck driver lady.” He kissed her then pulled back with a grin. “I hope I get to ride with you.”

“Of course you can.” She noticed Paul turning away from them. “I’d love that.”

“That is settled, then.” He released her and dragged off his t-shirt. “Captain,” he shouted to Harry, who was undoing the canvas sides of the truck with Evan. “I start loading, si?”

  “Sure.”

“The big panels first,” Evan called.

“I’ll help you, Raul.” Lucas came around the side of the cab, tugging his t-shirt off as he walked. He dropped it on the grass next to Raul’s.

Olivia allowed her gaze to linger on first Lucas’s sexy broad chest, then Raul’s. They were so different. Lucas’s muscular and pale, every abdominal muscle in definition. Raul’s lean, darkly tanned, and a delicious line of black hair fanning out from his navel to the waistband of his jeans.

“I’m going to carry on sorting out the medical equipment in here,” Paul said, nodding to a small white van, which had the back door open. It had a raised skylight on the roof to provide extra ventilation.

“Sure,” Olivia said. “Want help?” She felt it was polite to offer because he was setting to the task alone.

  “No, I’ll manage.”

Soon the truck was filling up. All her men had stripped their t-shirts off, and Olivia was enjoying all the smooth flesh and rippling muscles on show as they worked hard lifting, and shifting and stacking. The wooden beams and the panels were too heavy for her, but she was managing to move a bunch of tiles, one at a time.

“You doing okay, babe?” Evan asked, pushing his hand through his blond curls and flashing his damp underarm hair.

“It’ll take me a while but I’ll get there.”

  He smiled.

“Hey, Evan, help me with this,” Harry called. “Now.”

Evan raised his eyebrows at her, then strode over to the solar panels.

She carried on with what she was doing. She didn’t think Harry would ever change his bossy ways, but it was good that sometimes Evan let it slide. The last thing they needed was to be at loggerheads when there was so much to do.

The sun was setting by the time the truck was finally loaded, and a bright security light was helping with their task.

“That’s it,” Evan said, securing the truck. “One hospital, in bits, ready to go.”

“And the equipment is all good.” Paul shoved a set of keys into his pocket. “I’ve just put the vaccines in; last thing we want to do is forget them.”

“That would be a disaster,” Olivia said, wiping at a smear of grit she could feel on her cheek.

  “Where’s Raul?” Mason asked.

“He went inside about thirty minutes ago,” Lucas said. “To shower and make dinner.”

“Thank goodness for that.” Harry rubbed his belly. “I’m famished.”

“Me, too,” Olivia said. “And I also need a shower.” She locked the cab then pocketed the keys. “And an early night so we can head off at dawn.”

“Who is driving the other van, with the tent?” Mason asked.

  “I can do
that.” Evan shrugged.

“Yeah, I’ll jump in with you.” Harry clasped his hand on Evan’s shoulder.

“And I’ll go in front, with Paul and map read,” Mason said.

“Should take about five hours to Springbok,” Paul said. “Then another three or four heading east, but experience tells me the last few miles of this kind of journey takes the longest.”

“We’ll be fine,” Olivia said. “We’ll stick together in convoy and hopefully we’ll make it before nightfall.”

“Yeah, otherwise we’ll be sleeping in the vehicles,” Lucas said. “I don’t fancy putting up that tent in the dark—goodness knows what will be watching us.”

Olivia remembered Anya’s tales of the leopard but decided not to mention it. Because Lucas was right, they were going to be in the wilderness. On Elysium they’d had snakes and insects to contend with, but here, they’d have so much more than bugs and reptiles.

They wandered up the steps to the main door, then went separate ways for showers.

Olivia’s back ached, and her shoulders were stiff from lugging the heavy tiles around. She enjoyed the hot shower water beating down on her body.

When she arrived in the kitchen, in multi-colored cotton pants and a t-shirt, the aroma coming from the oven made her mouth water. “What are you cooking?”

“Pies.” Raul pulled the door open and revealed two huge round pies. The pastry top was just starting to turn golden. “You and the twins said you liked pies.”

“Yes, we did.” She hesitated, remembering something he’d mentioned about liking squid pie. “Er, what type of filling is it?”

“Ah.” He tapped his nose. “It is surprise.”

“No, Raul.” She caught him around the waist. “What is in it?”

  “I will not tell.”

She tickled his side. “Tell me. Tell me now.”

He laughed and squirmed. “You wait and see.”

She tickled some more, not letting him get away. “I won’t stop till you tell me.”

He hooted and doubled over. “Okay, okay, si, si, I tell you.”

She grinned and let him straighten.

“One is chicken with mushroom, that is what you like.”

“Oh, it is.” She went on tiptoes and kissed him. “Thank you.”

“Pie,” Mason said, as he walked into the room with Lucas and Paul. “You’re pure magic, Raul.”
