In Too Deep Page 10

Her body gripped him tight. Nothing had ever felt so good.

He started to move in a gentle rhythm.

  “Is this alright, Lou?”

  “Good, so good,” she murmured.

  Then she opened her eyes.

  Her eyes were wet.

  Shit.

  “Did I hurt you, Lou?”

“What? No. It’s just I think I love you. I mean, I’m pretty sure I love you,” she said as she wrapped her legs around his waist. Her arms wrapped around his neck.

“I was going to tell you last night, but I got scared.”

She was moving her body now. It was clumsy but she was trying to match his strokes. It was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.

He held her tight and picked up the pace.

She started to make little kitten cries.

He slipped his hand between her legs.

“Come with me, love. Come with me.”

She screamed his name and her whole body spasmed around his dick.

His balls tightened up, and Trick came so hard he saw a universe of tiny white lights in his eyelids.

He slid out of her carefully and then rolled her over so she was lying on top of him. He held her quietly against his chest, stroking her back until she was asleep on top of him.

When he was sure she was asleep he whispered his truth. He wanted to say it aloud just once.

“I love you, too, Louisa, but eventually you’ll want the one thing I can’t give you. Children. I’m going to let you go, but make no mistake, I love you."

  Chapter 19

  ***Lou***

Lou listened to the idiot below her snoring softly.

Idiot. I’m going to let you go, but make no mistake, I love you. Who even talks like that? Well she was refusing to let him go, so he was just going to have to deal with it. At least he’d made her realize she didn’t think she loved him. She knew she loved him. Even if he was an idiot.

She just needed a way to make him understand.

  ***

Lou walked to work. Her whole body was deliciously sore in a way that reminded her she was no longer a virgin. Even better, that she was a woman who was loved.

She fished through her purse and picked up her phone. She scrolled down and found the number she needed.

  “Genevieve speaking.”

“Hi, Genevieve. It’s Louisa Allen and I was hoping you could do me a favor.”

  ***

Trick was easy to follow. He never looked back. She was right behind him and he didn’t even notice.

Lou straightened the tie of her trench coat and waited till she saw the limo on the corner. Then she called his name.

  “Patrick. Patrick Harper.”

  He turned around.

  “Louisa? What are you?”

“It’s begun. I’ll need you to put this on.” She pulled the blindfold out of her pocket.

“Louisa, honey, what are you. . . ?”

“If you don’t want to ride in the trunk, I’d put this on, Mr. Harper.”

  His smile was blinding.

“Louisa, are you kidnapping me?” He looked at her like he’d just won the lottery.

He ducked his head and let her slip the blindfold on. Then he turned obediently as she bound his wrists.

“Make sure it’s tight enough, love. You wouldn’t want me getting away.”

“Bachelor party,” she said to the people giving her strange looks as they walked past.

“She’s actually my girlfriend. She’s just a little embarrassed by her kinky side,” he called out.

“Are you sure you don’t want to ride in the trunk?” She led him to the limo making sure he didn’t stumble or hit his head.

“What are your plans for me?” he asked.

“You’ll have to wait and see,” she said, as the limo door slammed closed.

Once he settled into his seat, she kicked off her high heels and pulled out a hamper.

She placed the platter of meats and cheeses on the seat in front of them. Then she readied the champagne. She set the flutes into their holders, and then she took the blindfold off her captive.

  “This seems familiar,” he said.

“Just a snack,” she said as she unbound his hands.

“We’ll eat dinner after the game.”

  “What kind of game?”

“You’ll just have to wait and see my love.”

  Chapter 20

  ***Trick***

My love. The words made him giddier than the champagne.

A sports game? Sports weren’t really his thing, but for her he would pretend. It really didn’t matter if she was taking him to a gas station or the zoo. Just the idea that she had kidnapped him to spend time with him sent a zingy thrill down his body. She refused to give more details, and he was happy to let her keep her surprise. Instead they ate their little picnic and then they made out like horny teenagers. When he finally came up for air, he realized they were in Pennsylvania.

“You’ve taken me outside of state lines, love. I imagine now this is a federal offense.”

He really had no idea where they were going and he loved it.

“Relax,” she said “we’re almost there.”

‘There’ turned out to be Hobart College, a small school about two hours away from New York City.

Her sister was a freshman who played on the varsity basketball team. Louisa had gotten them courtside seats and they drank ice cold beer, and ate hotdogs as they watched her little sister play. Her sister was good, though surprisingly inclined towards violence, and the Hobart Lions won their game easily.

After the game they all went to a local pub. Julia Allen’s hair and eyes were darker than her older sister’s, and she stood nearly a foot taller but her manner was the same. She seemed shy for maybe the first twenty minutes of dinner and then she wouldn’t stop talking.

“I love that I met you first,” Julia said, “It’s going to make Libby crazy.”

“That’s your oldest sister, right?” Trick asked.

“31 next month,” she said. “You know Lou hasn’t brought a guy home since she was thirteen. What was his name? Alvin? Albert? Advark?”

“Alan, smartass,” Lou said, tossing a fry at her sister.

“His grandmother drove them to the dance. She made Lou sit in the front seat, and Alan was so shy he wouldn’t kiss Lou goodnight. He shook her hand instead. Lou was so mad. Probably what put her off men,” Julia said, cracking up. “She’s been a sporadic dater. Looks like she’s doing alright now.”

“I’m going to take that as a compliment,” Trick said.

“You should. Although if you ever hurt her, I’ll have to kill you. She’s my sister, you know.”

  “Noted,” he said.

Around eleven o clock, they got into the car and headed back to Manhattan.

“Thank you for introducing me to your sister. She’s lovely. She reminds me a lot of you.”

“She is a lot like me. A little funnier, a lot smarter, I think. Computer Science is her thing. She codes and she’s crazy good at it. Do you know why we came here tonight, Patrick?’

  “To meet your sister, Louisa?”

“Actually, we are here because you whisper like shit Trick, and I figured you were more of a visual learner.”

“Lou, I don’t get it. What are you talking about?”

“’I’m going to let you go, but make no mistake, I love you.’ I heard every word you said you moron. I wasn’t even asleep. Who talks like that? You’re an idiot, Trick.”

“Lou, you are twenty-four years old. Even if you don’t believe it, I know you are going to want things I can’t give you.”

“Trick, there is nothing you can’t give me. That’s what I’m trying to show you. When I met my sister, she was four years old. Julia was four, Trick, when she came to our family, and she’s my sister, make no mistake.

“You are talking to a woman who knows what truly makes a family, Trick. Love. Love makes a family. You hav
e love in abundance. A couple of years is not going to change my mind. I would have told you this, but I didn’t think you’d believe me, you are so sure that you are damaged, so I thought I’d show you instead.”

Trick couldn’t stop the tears from falling. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined a moment like this.

He wiped a hand over his face. Even in the dim light of the limo Lou was sure to see he was crying.

“I love you so much, Louisa” he said through the tears.

She simply wrapped her arms around him and held on tight.

“Just know this” she said to him “I love you.”

Trick leaned into her embrace, and let the tears fall. For the first time in a long time, he felt whole.

  Epilogue

“Ellie what have you done?” Lou put down her paintbrush and focused on the three-year-old standing in front of her.

“I cut my hair, just like Daddy does.”

Lou was sure her husband had never given anyone a hair cut like this. Ellie had hacked off several chunks of hair on her left side, and half her forehead was covered in some of the worst bangs Lou had ever seen. She must have tired out before she could make it to the right side. That, or she was going for an edgy, asymmetrical look. Lou wondered how Trick would fix this, but she was pretty sure he would find a way.

  “Where’s Auntie Julia, my love?”

  “Asleep on the couch.”

Lou would thank her sister later.

“Oh baby, if you wanted a haircut you should have waited for Daddy.”

“But I’m going to own a salon like Daddy and I need to practice.”

“Ellie bear if that’s what you want you are just the woman to make it happen. But haircutting is an art. Daddy had to practice a lot before he ever cut a person’s hair. Next time you can practice on your dolls, okay. You want to call Daddy and tell him about your day?”

Ellie nodded and Lou pressed the video chat on her phone.

Trick picked up on the third ring.

“You’re a good surprise.” He said. “Let me just step out for a moment.”

Lou waited until he was standing on the sidewalk in front of the salon.

“I’ve got some good news,” Lou said laughing. “Our daughter has decided she’s going to be just like you and own her own salon when she grows up.”

Lou knelt down by their daughter, so Trick could see. The stunned look on Trick’s face was priceless. There was a good thirty seconds of silence. Then he started to laugh so hard tears rolled down his face. Lou couldn’t help it, she started laughing too.
