“Hold that thought, baby. I’ve got to take a leak.” He handed Marni to her and sauntered away.

“Damn bulldozer,” she said. “Your uncle’s a big bulldozer,” she said to Marni. “We’re not getting married today.”

The doorbell rang, making her frown. No one comes out here.

“Get that, will you?” Jace called from the half bath off the living room.

Zoé and Marni made their way to the huge double front door. She opened it to see an extremely handsome older man.

Dressed impeccably, he stood about six feet tall. His graying hair was slicked away from his taut, tanned face, giving him the appearance of extensive, expensive work having been done. His silvery blue-gray eyes regarded her as he smiled the polite smile of those who deem it necessary to indulge their inferiors in some sort of civility.

“Can I help you?” Zoé said, clutching Marni tightly.

He grinned at her, making her feel slightly uneasy. “You must be Zoé. And this must be Marni.”

“How do you know who I am?”

“I’m Sean O’Reilly,” he said, extending a muscled arm in her direction. “I’m Billy’s father. And this is my grandchild. I’ve come to claim my rights.” He turned his attention at the happy little girl resting on Zoé’s hip.

Zoé’s face drained of color. She scanned him before taking his ghastly, proffered hand. Oh, dear God.

  “Jace,” she called.

“Yeah, baby?” his deep, sexy voice rang from around the corner.

“It’s more trouble – and it just arrived at our door.”

  Author’s Notes:

I hope you enjoyed the book. My editor and I sat down and completely revised the book from the first edition of Looks Like Trouble to Me. We smoothed some of Jace’s rough edges, heated up others and worked hard to make the story more appealing to all. And, if you hate cliffhangers and are busy cursing me out (LOL) Book 2 in the Bad Boys Need Love, Too, is available now. BUT! If you can wait (and I hope you can), we’re working to revise this book, too. Make sure you sign up for my newsletter because I’ll tell you straight away when the revised edition is available! http://calindab.com/newslettersignup.html

  About the Author

The Fun Part: Calinda B was told early on that she should be a writer. She heard frequent praise for her writing, as well as her sense of humor. Scoffing at such admonitions and praise, she went on to pursue her life of adventure, chock full of the things that make up a well-rounded adventurous life: music (Yep, she was a singer in a rock and roll band), dance (even performed hip hop in Russia), rock climbing (ever hung from a rock wall a few stories up? Yikes!), fire walking (taught high-ranking Moscow fire officials how to walk the coals), kayaking, scuba diving (she's in love with sharks), travel, and falling in love again and again.

The Daily Grind: An award-winning web designer and certified SEO specialist, Calinda B has worked in the Internet industry as a web page designer/developer since the early 1990's. She has also taught web site design and computer graphics at community colleges in Northern California. In addition to writing, Calinda B creates fine art and music, and enjoys scuba diving, kayaking, and bike riding. Calinda B makes her home in the Pacific Northwest with the love of her life and her two cats. She is currently working on her next book, as usual.
