The Sleeping Omega Prince Page 19

We left Clarence and Brendan to get reacquainted while we stepped out onto the flight landing.

“Congratulations!” Seth pulled me into a hug. “Never thought this day would come.”

“I thought it would be you,” I admitted.

“Nah. Kids don’t like living on boats.”

“Not taking up Brendan’s offer then?” I arched a brow.

Seth looked down at his feet. His scent betrayed his worries.

“Be nice,” Brendan said over our mating link. “He’s your brother.”

  “Yes, dear.”

“No hard feelings. It was an invitation not a royal summons,” I told Seth.

“Didn’t think you’d want me around.”

“That’s up to you, but with what happened last night I think we need some more hands on deck. You know that evil wizard guy from the lore?” I asked him.

  “Yeah,” Seth looked up.

“He came back from wherever he was and attacked us last night. He killed one of my ex-students. We handled it, but I’m starting to see the benefits of having a community.”

“Hard to see it until it happens,” Seth clamped my shoulder. “We grew up without a pack and turned out okay, but we weren’t wanted by evil wizards.”

“Maybe the human governments weren’t the only problems we were facing. We didn’t know it, though, until they were gone.”

“Nah,” Seth shook his head. “You don’t see danger until you have someone to protect.”

“We named our little girl after her.”

“Brendan told me you were considering it. Thanks for that. She would have loved having a mini her running around.”

“Baby Stacy loves being the center of attention. So, they have a lot in common,” I smirked.

“What do you say? Pick a house and move to the island with us?”

“Sounds like a plan, but what do we do about the house?” He asked.

“We keep it and hire a grounds keeper. One day maybe one of the kids will want to live on the mainland.”

“Speaking of, can I meet them or has the prince banned me from the nest?” Seth laughed.

“Let’s find out,” I said and jerked my head in the direction of the hatchlings.

With the four of us and the babies in the nest there wasn’t much room to move around, but it was cozier than crowded. Brendan let Seth hold the babies while he showed me the gifts he and Clarence brought. I recognized the yellow hand knitted blanket right away. Stacy knitted it not long after she and Seth first true-responded. She was hopeful for a baby, but in the end, they decided to see the world before extending their family. I glanced at Seth and reached out for the blanket. I handed it to him and carefully swaddled Baby Stacy inside of it.

“We should have a feast,” Clarence announced. “I’ll call the flight if you two don’t mind.”

  “Umm..” Brendan bit his lip.

“They’ll stay outside,” Clarence assured him.

“I don’t think we have enough food for a dragon feast,” Brendan said.

“I’ll take care of it,” Clarence chuckled. “This is a day to celebrate. Our flight has grown, and an old enemy is once again defeated.”

“Bashi tossed him into the ocean,” Brendan said, “but what do we do with him?”

“I’ll take him to the vaults back home and assign him a guardian. When his mate is reborn, I’ll let him out. His mate was an omega dragon if our records are correct.”

“Corden’s going to be in trouble when he’s reborn.”

“Undoubtedly,” Clarence said. “Seth and I will go get things started and leave you four to rest.”

Alone with Brendan and our babies felt like home. We curled up in the nest with the little ones between us. I stroked Brendan’s hair. He grinned like a fool whenever he looked at Stacy and Elwin.

“Thank you for inviting Seth to live here,” I broke the silence.

“He’s family. You don’t have to thank me,” he leaned in for a kiss.

The kids and Brendan eventually fell asleep despite the laughter and whooshing of dragon wings outside the castle. For weeks, dig site invitations flooded my inbox in response to the news I discovered the long lost Moonscale Prince. I didn’t answer any of them, because right here in this nest with Brendan and our babies was the only place I ever wanted to be.

Her career started in freelance journalism and expanded into fiction as the years passed. While reality may be stranger than fiction story telling is her first true love. Her tall tales caused her trouble during her early years of childhood, but soon with chubby-pencil to paper she began story writing.

Decades later this love matured into a passion and she’s written across many genres. Her current love is MPREG. It’s so much better to read about men falling in love, making babies, and raising happy families than it is to read about them killing one another off. So, when it comes to writing the male specimen she prefers adorable omegas with bellies plump with future generations and the sexy and sometimes arrogant Alphas who love and protect them.

With a strong belief in live and let live and all love is love, Maggie Hemlock is both a member of and an advocate for the LGBT community.
