[12] And the border returned from Sedduc in a contrary direction eastward from Baethsamys, to the borders of Chaselothaith, and shall pass on to Dabiroth, and shall proceed upward to Phangai.
[13] καὶ ἐκεῖθεν περιελεύσεται ἐξ ἐναντίας ἐπ’ ἀνατολὰς ἐπὶ Γεβερε ἐπὶ πόλιν Κατασεμ καὶ διελεύσεται ἐπὶ Ρεμμωνα Αμαθαρ Αοζα
[13] And thence it shall come round in the opposite direction eastward to Gebere to the city of Catasem, and shall go on to Remmonaa Matharaoza.
[14] καὶ περιελεύσεται ὅρια ἐπὶ βορρᾶν ἐπὶ Αμωθ, καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος αὐτῶν ἐπὶ Γαιφαηλ
[14] And the borders shall come round northward to Amoth, and their going out shall be at Gaephael,
[15] καὶ Καταναθ καὶ Ναβααλ καὶ Συμοων καὶ Ιεριχω καὶ Βαιθμαν.
[15] and Catanath, and Nabaal, and Symoon, and Jericho, and Baethman.
[16] αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Ζαβουλων κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, πόλεις καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν.
[16] This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Zabulon according to their families, these cities and their villages.
[17] Καὶ τῷ Ισσαχαρ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ τέταρτος.
[17] And the fourth lot came out to Issachar.
[18] καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν Ιαζηλ καὶ Χασαλωθ καὶ Σουναν
[18] And their borders were Jazel, and Chasaloth, and Sunam,
[19] καὶ Αγιν καὶ Σιωνα καὶ Ρεηρωθ καὶ Αναχερεθ
[19] and Agin, and Siona, and Reeroth,
[20] καὶ Δαβιρων καὶ Κισων καὶ Ρεβες
[20] and Anachereth, and Dabiron, and Kison, and Rebes,
[21] καὶ Ρεμμας καὶ Ιεων καὶ Τομμαν καὶ Αιμαρεκ καὶ Βηρσαφης,
[21] and Remmas, and Jeon, and Tomman, and Æmarec, and Bersaphes.
[22] καὶ συνάψει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ Γαιθβωρ καὶ ἐπὶ Σαλιμ κατὰ θάλασσαν καὶ Βαιθσαμυς, καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος τῶν ὁρίων ὁ Ιορδάνης.
[22] And the boundaries shall border upon Gaethbor, and upon Salim westward, and Baethsamys; and the extremity of his bounds shall be Jordan.
[23] αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Ισσαχαρ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, αἱ πόλεις καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν.
[23] This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
[24] Καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ πέμπτος Ασηρ.
[24] And the fifth lot came out to Aser according to their families.
[25] καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἐξ Ελεκεθ καὶ Αλεφ καὶ Βαιθοκ καὶ Κεαφ
[25] And their borders were Exeleketh, and Aleph, and Baethok, and Keaph,
[26] καὶ Ελιμελεκ καὶ Αμιηλ καὶ Μαασα καὶ συνάψει τῷ Καρμήλῳ κατὰ θάλασσαν καὶ τῷ Σιων καὶ Λαβαναθ
[26] and Elimelech, and Amiel, and Maasa, and the lot will border on Carmel westward, and on Sion, and Labanath.
[27] καὶ ἐπιστρέψει ἀπ’ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου καὶ Βαιθεγενεθ καὶ συνάψει τῷ Ζαβουλων καὶ ἐκ Γαι καὶ Φθαιηλ κατὰ βορρᾶν, καὶ εἰσελεύσεται ὅρια Σαφθαιβαιθμε καὶ Ιναηλ καὶ διελεύσεται εἰς Χωβα μασομελ
[27] And it will return westward from Baethegeneth, and will join Zabulon and Ekgai, and Phthaeel northwards, and the borders will come to Saphthaebaethme, and Inael, and will go on to Chobamasomel,
[28] καὶ Ελβων καὶ Ρααβ καὶ Εμεμαων καὶ Κανθαν ἕως Σιδῶνος τῆς μεγάλης,
[28] and Elbon, and Raab, and Ememaon, and Canthan to great Sidon.
[29] καὶ ἀναστρέψει τὰ ὅρια εἰς Ραμα καὶ ἕως πηγῆς Μασφασσατ καὶ τῶν Τυρίων, καὶ ἀναστρέψει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ Ιασιφ, καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος αὐτοῦ ἡ θάλασσα καὶ ἀπὸ Λεβ καὶ Εχοζοβ
[29] And the borders shall turn back to Rama, and to the fountain of Masphassat, and the Tyrians; and the borders shall return to Jasiph, and their going forth shall be the sea, and Apoleb, and Echozob,
[30] καὶ Αρχωβ καὶ Αφεκ καὶ Ρααυ.
[30] and Archob, and Aphec, and Raau.
[31] αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Ασηρ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, πόλεις καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν.
[31] This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Aser according to their families, the cities and their villages.
[32] Καὶ τῷ Νεφθαλι ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ ἕκτος.
[32] And the sixth lot came out to Nephthali.
[33] καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν Μοολαμ καὶ Μωλα καὶ Βεσεμιιν καὶ Αρμε καὶ Ναβωκ καὶ Ιεφθαμαι ἕως Δωδαμ, καὶ ἐγενήθησαν αἱ διέξοδοι αὐτοῦ ὁ Ιορδάνης·
[33] And their borders were Moolam, and Mola, and Besemiin, and Arme, and Naboc, and Jephthamai, as far as Dodam; and their goings out were Jordan.
[34] καὶ ἐπιστρέψει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ θάλασσαν Εναθ Θαβωρ καὶ διελεύσεται ἐκεῖθεν Ιακανα καὶ συνάψει τῷ Ζαβουλων ἀπὸ νότου καὶ Ασηρ συνάψει κατὰ θάλασσαν, καὶ ὁ Ιορδάνης ἀπ’ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου.
[34] And the coasts will return westward by Athabor, and will go out thence to Jacana, and will border on Zabulon southward, and Aser will join it westward, and Jordan eastward.
[35] καὶ αἱ πόλεις τειχήρεις τῶν Τυρίων Τύρος καὶ Ωμαθα, Δακεθ καὶ Κενερεθ
[35] And the walled cities of the Tyrians, Tyre, and Omathadaketh, and Kenereth,
[36] καὶ Αρμαιθ καὶ Αραηλ καὶ Ασωρ
[36] and Armaith, and Areal, and Asor,
[37] καὶ Καδες καὶ Ασσαρι καὶ πηγὴ Ασορ
[37] and Cades, and Assari, and the well of Asor;
[38] καὶ Κερωε καὶ Μεγαλα, Αριμ καὶ Βαιθθαμε καὶ Θεσσαμυς.
[38] and Keroe, and Megalaarim, and Baetthame, and Thessamys.
[39] αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Νεφθαλι.
[39] This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Nephthali.
[40] Καὶ τῷ Δαν ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος ὁ ἕβδομος.
[40] And the seventh lot came out to Dan.
[41] καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν Σαραθ καὶ Ασα, πόλεις Σαμμαυς
[41] And their borders were Sarath, and Asa, and the cities of Sammaus,
[42] καὶ Σαλαβιν καὶ Αμμων καὶ Σιλαθα
[42] and Salamin, and Ammon, and Silatha,
[43] καὶ Αιλων καὶ Θαμναθα καὶ Ακκαρων
[43] and Elon, and Thamnatha, and Accaron;
[44] καὶ Αλκαθα καὶ Βεγεθων καὶ Γεβεελαν
[44] and Alcatha, and Begethon, and Gebeelan,
[45] καὶ Αζωρ καὶ Βαναιβακατ καὶ Γεθρεμμων,
[45] and Azor, and Banaebacat, and Gethremmo
n.
[46] καὶ ἀπὸ θαλάσσης Ιερακων ὅριον πλησίον Ιόππης.
[46] And westward of Hieracon the border was near to Joppa.
[47] αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς υἱῶν Δαν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, αἱ πόλεις αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν.
[47] This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan, according to their families, these are their cities and their villages: and the children of Dan did not drive out the Amorite who afflicted them in the mountain; and the Amorite would not suffer them to come down into the valley, but they forcibly took from them the border of their portion.
[48] καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ιουδα καὶ ἐπολέμησαν τὴν Λαχις καὶ κατελάβοντο αὐτὴν καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι μαχαίρας καὶ κατῴκησαν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐκάλεσαν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς Λασενδακ. [48a] καὶ ὁ Αμορραῖος ὑπέμεινεν τοῦ κατοικεῖν ἐν Ελωμ καὶ ἐν Σαλαμιν· καὶ ἐβαρύνθη ἡ χεὶρ τοῦ Εφραιμ ἐπ’ αὐτούς, καὶ ἐγένοντο αὐτοῖς εἰς φόρον.
[48] And the sons of Dan went and fought against Lachis, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword; and they dwelt in it, and called the name of it Lasendan: and the Amorite continued to dwell in Edom and in Salamin: and the hand of Ephraim prevailed against them, and they became tribute to them.
[49] Καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἐμβατεῦσαι τὴν γῆν κατὰ τὸ ὅριον αὐτῶν. καὶ ἔδωκαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ κλῆρον Ἰησοῖ τῷ υἱῷ Ναυη ἐν αὐτοῖς
[49] And they proceeded to take possession of the land according to their borders, and the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Naue among them,
[50] διὰ προστάγματος τοῦ θεοῦ· καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτῷ τὴν πόλιν, ἣν ᾐτήσατο, Θαμνασαραχ, ἥ ἐστιν ἐν τῷ ὄρει Εφραιμ· καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τὴν πόλιν καὶ κατῴκει ἐν αὐτῇ.
[50] by the command of God, and they gave him the city which he asked for, Thamnasarach, which is in the mount of Ephraim; and he built the city, and dwelt in it.
[51] Αὗται αἱ διαιρέσεις, ἃς κατεκληρονόμησεν Ελεαζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ τοῦ Ναυη καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν πατριῶν ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς Ισραηλ κατὰ κλήρους ἐν Σηλω ἐναντίον κυρίου παρὰ τὰς θύρας τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου· καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἐμβατεῦσαι τὴν γῆν.
[51] These are the divisions which Eleazar the priest divided by lot, and Joshua the son of Naue, and the heads of families among the tribes of Israel, according to the lots, in Selo before the Lord by the doors of the tabernacle of testimony, and they went to take possession of the land.
CHAPTER 20
[1] Καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος τῷ Ἰησοῖ λέγων
[1] And the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying,
[2] Λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ λέγων Δότε τὰς πόλεις τῶν φυγαδευτηρίων, ἃς εἶπα πρὸς ὑμᾶς διὰ Μωυσῆ,
[2] Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Assign the cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you by Moses.
[3] φυγαδευτήριον τῷ φονευτῇ τῷ πατάξαντι ψυχὴν ἀκουσίως, καὶ ἔσονται ὑμῖν αἱ πόλεις φυγαδευτήριον, καὶ οὐκ ἀποθανεῖται ὁ φονευτὴς ὑπὸ τοῦ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἷμα, ἕως ἂν καταστῇ ἐναντίον τῆς συναγωγῆς εἰς κρίσιν.
[3] Even a refuge to the slayer who has smitten a man unintentionally; and the cities shall be to you a refuge, and the slayer shall not be put to death by the avenger of blood, until he have stood before the congregation for judgement.
[7] καὶ διέστειλεν τὴν Καδης ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ ἐν τῷ ὄρει τῷ Νεφθαλι καὶ Συχεμ ἐν τῷ ὄρει τῷ Εφραιμ καὶ τὴν πόλιν Αρβοκ [αὕτη ἐστὶν Χεβρων] ἐν τῷ ὄρει τῷ Ιουδα.
[4] And Joshua separated Cades in Galilee in the mount Nephthali, and Sychem in the mount Ephraim, and the city of Arboc; this is Chebron, in the mountain of Juda.
[8] καὶ ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἔδωκεν Βοσορ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ ἀπὸ τῆς φυλῆς Ρουβην καὶ Αρημωθ ἐν τῇ Γαλααδ ἐκ τῆς φυλῆς Γαδ καὶ τὴν Γαυλων ἐν τῇ Βασανίτιδι ἐκ τῆς φυλῆς Μανασση.
[5] And beyond Jordan he appointed Bosor in the wilderness in the plain out of the tribe of Ruben, and Aremoth in Galaad out of the tribe of Gad, and Gaulon in the country of Basan out of the tribe of Manasse.
[9] αὗται αἱ πόλεις αἱ ἐπίκλητοι τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ τῷ προσηλύτῳ τῷ προσκειμένῳ ἐν αὐτοῖς καταφυγεῖν ἐκεῖ παντὶ παίοντι ψυχὴν ἀκουσίως, ἵνα μὴ ἀποθάνῃ ἐν χειρὶ τοῦ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἷμα, ἕως ἂν καταστῇ ἔναντι τῆς συναγωγῆς εἰς κρίσιν.
[6] These were the cities selected for the sons of Israel, and for the stranger abiding among them, that every one who smites a soul unintentionally should flee thither, that he should not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he should stand before the congregation for judgement.
CHAPTER 21
[1] Καὶ προσήλθοσαν οἱ ἀρχιπατριῶται τῶν υἱῶν Λευι πρὸς Ελεαζαρ τὸν ἱερέα καὶ πρὸς Ἰησοῦν τὸν τοῦ Ναυη καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ἀρχιφύλους πατριῶν ἐκ τῶν φυλῶν Ισραηλ
And the heads of the families of the sons of Levi drew near to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Naue, and to the heads of families of the tribes of Israel.
[2] καὶ εἶπον πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἐν Σηλω ἐν γῇ Χανααν λέγοντες Ἐνετείλατο κύριος ἐν χειρὶ Μωυσῆ δοῦναι ἡμῖν πόλεις κατοικεῖν καὶ τὰ περισπόρια τοῖς κτήνεσιν ἡμῶν.
[2] And they spoke to them in Selo in the land of Chanaan, saying, The Lord gave commandment by Moses to give us cities to dwell in, and the country round about for our cattle.
[3] καὶ ἔδωκαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τοῖς Λευίταις ἐν τῷ κατακληρονομεῖν διὰ προστάγματος κυρίου τὰς πόλεις καὶ τὰ περισπόρια αὐτῶν.
[3] So the children of Israel gave to the Levites in their inheritance by the command of the Lord the cities and the country round.
[4] καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ κλῆρος τῷ δήμῳ Κααθ, καὶ ἐγένετο τοῖς υἱοῖς Ααρων τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν τοῖς Λευίταις ἀπὸ φυλῆς Ιουδα καὶ ἀπὸ φυλῆς Συμεων καὶ ἀπὸ φυλῆς Βενιαμιν κληρωτὶ πόλεις δέκα τρεῖς
[4] And the lot came out for the children of Caath; and the sons of Aaron, the priests the Levites, had by lot thirteen cities out of the tribe of Juda, and out of the tribe of Symeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin.
[5] καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Κααθ τοῖς καταλελειμμένοις ἐκ τῆς φυλῆς Εφραιμ καὶ ἐκ τῆς φυλῆς Δαν καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμίσους φυλῆς Μανασση κληρωτὶ πόλεις δέκ

[5] And to the sons of Caath that were left were given by lot ten cities, out of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasse.
[6] καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Γεδσων ἀπὸ τῆς φυλῆς Ισσαχαρ καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς φυλῆς Ασηρ καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς φυλῆς Νεφθαλι καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡμίσους φυλῆς Μανασση ἐν τῷ Βασαν πόλεις δέκα τρεῖς·
[6] And the sons of Gedson had thirteen cities, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Aser, and out of the tribe of Nephthali, and out of the half tribe of Manasse in Basan.
[7] καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Μεραρι κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν ἀπὸ φυλῆς Ρουβην καὶ ἀπὸ φυλῆς Γαδ καὶ ἀπὸ φυλῆς Ζαβουλων κληρωτὶ πόλεις δώδεκα.
[7] And the sons of Merari according to their families had by lot twelve cities, out of the tribe of Ruben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zabulon.
[8] Καὶ ἔδωκαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τοῖς Λευίταις τὰς πόλεις καὶ τὰ περισπόρια αὐτῶν, ὃν τρόπον ἐνετείλατο κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ, κληρωτί.
[8] And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs, as the Lord commanded Moses, by lot.
[9] καὶ ἔδωκεν ἡ φυλὴ υἱῶν Ιουδα καὶ ἡ φυλὴ υἱῶν Συμεων καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς φυλῆς υἱῶν Βενιαμιν τὰς πόλεις, καὶ ἐπεκλήθησαν
[9] And the tribe of the children of Juda, and the tribe of the children of Symeon, and part of the tribe of the children of Benjamin gave these cities, and they were assigned
[10] τοῖς υἱοῖς Ααρων ἀπὸ τοῦ δήμου τοῦ Κααθ τῶν υἱῶν Λευι, ὅτι τούτοις ἐγενήθη ὁ κλῆρος.
[10] to the sons of Aaron of the family of Caath of the sons of Levi, for the lot fell to these.
