The Regime Page 19

“Mein Fuhrer, what should we do about production, and especially that of Universal Incorporated? Surely the Chairman cannot hold the charade for long?” asked Hermann Strauss, Minister of Armaments and War Production for the Fourth Reich.

“Ah Herr Strauss, there is no need to worry. The Imperium cannot afford to lose UI; their forces depend on them. Now, where is Aloysius?” asked Friedrich.

“He has taken a battalion of my Waffen SS to Fraxinos, to help establish a tank production facility. Hopefully, before long we can create the Landkreuzer that we talked about for so long,” chuckled General Claus Austerlitz, Commander of the Waffen SS.

“What do you think will happen now? Do you really think we can win?” asked General Kristof Albrecht.

“Yes, Kristof, I do, but we shall not get boastful and cocky. Hold off the attacks on Alpha sector for now. If the Imperium is smart, they will try to put the pressure on us. I want to be ready. Fortify the platform, raise the Fourth Reich’s colours, and rename the platform Auchberg.

The rest of you, see to your regiments, and your fleets. The Imperium will come; they will come fast and hard. They will not be happy after that broadcast, and they will surely want vengeance. This, gentlemen, is what we waited for. This is a real competition. This is a real war.

Friedrich then stood, and fixed his jacket. He was wearing his traditional grey dress uniform, without his trench coat, his usual attire for when he gave his speeches. He walked out to a small balcony overlooking a massive courtyard of stone. As the sun hit his body, the earth shook with the triumphant roar of the thousands upon thousands of citizens gathered in front of him. He stood up straight with his hands behind his back, smiling inside his mask at the sheer awe he was experiencing.

Almost the entire population of New Berlin had gathered in the courtyard of the Reichstag, and all raised their arms, and cheered, chanting the name of Friedrich von Richthofen. They all waved flags of the Nazi party, many with the armbands to match. They cheered louder, as drums began to sound off around them, and the Nazi marching band began to play the national anthem.

Upon the silencing of the band, Friedrich raised his hands to calm his adoring disciples. He then began to speak loud and confident, not letting his mask hinder his public speaking. He was ready to deliver the speech he had been waiting all his life for.

“My people. My friends. My children. This is the day! This is the day that the resurrection of the Nazi party is complete! The Imperial forces are beaten and scattered; the filth of the stars is being washed away. The aliens, the communists, the Jews, the enemies of the Aryan race are quickly becoming but a memory. We are victorious! You placed your faith in me, and I appreciate all you have done to support the Reich. Once the Imperial palace falls, you, the loyal people of New Berlin, shall dine in the throne room like kings of old!

I cannot see into the future, to our fates. I do know that our destiny is at hand. The Nazis shall rule the galaxy! Yesterday, my friends, was the rise of the regime. Today, and all the days following, shall be forever changed. The future is Germany! The Third Reich was supposed to reign one thousand years. That was Adolf Hitler’s Reich. This is OUR Reich and it will last an ETERNITY! This shall be the beginning of the Reign of the Regime!”
