Lady Sun: Marni MacRae Page 28

by Marni MacRae

I learned many things during our adventure. How to spear a fish, how to cut bamboo, how to laugh even when there is sand in your shorts and you haven't eaten for two days.

But the most valuable lesson I took from my time on the island, is that paradise is overrated. Chaining up, and getting through the frigid months, compares to sand-flies and sunburns.

When you are happy in your heart, everywhere is paradise.

  The End

  Acknowledgements

It is never just one person who writes a book. Although the title ‘Author’ goes to the one with the story to tell, there is a whole support group that actually brings the book to life.

My deepest thanks to my support group, who without which, Lady Sun would have lingered in my mind and never spilled onto paper (or computer screen as the case may be).

First; to my Husband who not only sat through numerous readings, but had the patience to listen to me prattle on about details and changes and worries. He has been my rock and my inspiration, a girl couldn’t get any better.

Next I would like to put out the Kudos to my Copyeditor, Patrick Hodges who manages to scold and praise all in one breath. His sharp eye and professionalism helped teach me, and his humor softened the lesson that yes, I know, I can’t spell the same word three different ways. Thanks Patrick.

A special thanks to those along the way who showed support and helped get me to the end. To name a few; Dannette Pope, your spirit is unshakable and you helped when I really needed it. Misti Halverson, because you are such a Rockstar and my idol. Thanks for buying the first book hot off the presses. And of course Jeanie Johnson, the original storyteller who raised me to believe I could do anything and instilled my love of a good tale. Thanks Mom.
