Moaning, I tilted my head back and enjoyed the pleasure coursing through my veins. He dug his fingers into my ass and pulled me even closer. Lifting his head, he managed to suck on my moan.
“Mmm, that feels so good...” I could barely think. My mind had turned to mush.
He kept going, faster and faster. His tongue darted in and out of me at a breakneck pace.
I leaned back, knees tight against his shoulders. I couldn’t hold back any longer. The floodgates opened and I found myself shaking like a leaf. Grayson lapped up every drop like he was some kind of addict. By the time he was done, his face was covered with my juices and I was panting for breath.
But he didn’t even give me a chance to recover. Already, he had me positioned on my back. He took me by the thighs and hoisted my legs into the air. “Oh, your bad –” I didn’t even get to finish my statement before he plunged into my depths.
It had been such a long while since we were last intimate that he felt much bigger than I remembered. His girth threatened to tear me apart. But he didn’t seem to care. He plunged deeper and deeper until his balls settled against my butt.
He flashed me a smile and it was all over from there. He grabbed the headboard and used it for leverage as he picked up the pace. His balls slapped into me with each and every thrust, leaving my cheeks nice and pink. When the headboard wasn’t enough for him, he grabbed my legs, hoisting them even harder.
I screamed as he found the sweet spot and started hitting it over and over again. I squirmed, unable to handle the pleasure. His member twitched inside of me. He was getting close – very close.
He rocked into me harder and harder until he lost control. His facial expressions were animalistic. Suddenly, he groaned loud and long. A second later, my insides were coated with his sticky residue. I sighed, coming down from my own lust-filled orgasm. “Wow...” I whispered as we both collapsed onto the bed. “I don’t remember it ever being that good...”
Grayson kissed my cheek and smiled. “Let me get you a warm washcloth.”
By the time he returned, I was already fast asleep.
Chapter 10: Grayson
THE FOLLOWING MORNING.
I woke up to find a beautiful woman by my side. She was still sleeping even with the sunlight dancing along her features. Gently, I brushed the air out of her face and smiled. She was stunning. For a moment, I wondered how I had gotten so lucky that this woman would wait for me despite everything I had done to hurt her.
“I’m sorry...” I whispered into her ear before nibbling on her lobe. “I was dumb. Foolish. It won’t happen again.” My lips traveled down to her neck, possessed by her sweetness. “I love you.”
She started to stir. Had she heard what I said? Did she feel the same way? Would she ever say those words again?
Her eyelids fluttered open for a moment. The sunlight caught her by surprise so she hid against my chest. I chuckled and wrapped my arms around her body. My hands crept up and down her naked back, enjoying the feeling of her silky skin against my fingertips. “Good morning, beautiful.” I kissed the top of her head.
She looked up at me with something like confusion playing through her eyes. “You’re still here...”
I nodded. “Of course, I’m still here.” I cupped her cheek in my hand. “I know you probably won’t believe it but I truly mean it when I say I’m going to stay this time.”
She bit her lower lip to keep from saying something. Oh, how I wish I could get inside that head of hers and figure out what she was thinking. “Shelly, please, you have to believe me.” I pleaded.
“Grayson, I’ve been through this before. You come back and you act like everything is perfect and then you turn around and vanish.” She said.
“Then, why did you sleep with me?” I asked.
“Because I can’t resist you. I know it will probably destroy me in the long run, but I just can’t stay away from you.” Her eyes glistened with unshed tears.
I shook my head. “Please... this time is different. I swear it. What do I have to do to prove it to you?” I took her by the chin and pulled her in for a kiss. She returned it but it wasn’t as passionate as the night before.
She placed her hand on my chest and broke it off prematurely. “You want to prove it to me? Then tell me the truth.”
“What truth?”
“Why do you do it? Why do you launder money?” She sat up, clutching the sheets to her chest. “I mean, you have all the money in the world. Your company is growing. It’s prosperous. And yet, you find it necessary to get more money illegally.” She turned and shot me an icy glare. “What is wrong with you?”
“We’ve already gone over this, Shelly.” I tried to grab her hand but she pulled it away. “I do it for the thrill. It’s the same reason why I drive fast on the highway. I know there’s a chance that I’ll get caught but until that happens, I can enjoy the adrenaline pumping through my veins and besides sleeping with you, there’s nothing like it.”
Shelly got up, her hands balled into fists. “I really don’t understand you. So, you want to get caught –”
“That’s not what I said.”
“If it’s the thrill you’re all about then I bet you’re a drug dealer. I bet you got some big operation going on. A whole team of baddies who do the dirty work for you.” She picked up my shirt and threw it on. Once she was somewhat dressed, she started to pace back and forth. “What is it your selling? Weed? No there’s no profit in that...”
I could tell it was eating her up inside. “Shelly, I’m not a drug dealer.”
She didn’t bother to listen to me. “Maybe cocaine? No. Too dirty. Pharmaceuticals. Yes, that’s probably what it is. You’re pushing pills, aren’t you?”
“Shelly, you’re getting out of hand. I’m not selling pills.” I took her by the shoulders so she would stop pacing. Her eyes were wide and full of betrayal. “I’m not a drug dealer, I promise.”
“The black market, then. You’re in the sex trafficking business –”
“Now you’re just being ridiculous.” I lifted her chin so she was forced to look me in the eye. “Tell me, do I really look like someone who could be in the sex trafficking business. Do you really think I would treat women in that manner? Sure, I’ve made my fair share of mistakes but I’m no monster.”
Her shoulders sagged. “Sorry... I guess I went a little overboard.”
“A little?” I chuckled. “You were working yourself up into a frenzy.”
“I’m just worried about you. I don’t want you to end up behind bars because you decided you wanted a little joyride.” She reached for my hands and laced our fingers together. “I care about you, Grayson, and it just seems like you’re being reckless for no reason.”
“Oh, I had a reason...” I ran my fingertips along her cheek. “This all started because I wanted to provide for you. That’s why I kept leaving. I wanted to find a way to make enough money to treat you like the Queen you are.”
Shelly shook her head. “If that’s the case then you’re an even bigger idiot than I thought you were.”
“Listen.” I held her hands to keep her from walking away from me. “While on my search, I met a friend. At first, she lent me some money so I could start my business. When my business shot off the ground, well, I turned around and became her silent partner. I supply a steady stream of money into her business and in return, I get certain services.”
“If this is supposed to make me feel better, it’s not helping.” She retched her hands away from mine and crossed her arms over her chest. “And if this partner of yours means so much that you’re willing to put everything on the line for her well, why don’t you just marry her?”
“Marry her?” I chortled. “I would never dream of it. There is only one woman in this world that I want to marry.”
Shelly’s eyes grew wide. “Does that mean...?”
“That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you all this time.”
She fell silent and I’ll admit, it unnerved
me. I wanted to know what was going on in that head of hers.
“You won’t tell me who she is, will you?”
“The girl I want to marry?” I asked with an innocent tone of voice. I rested my hands on her hips and pulled her a little bit closer. “I’m looking right at her.”
“No, you idiot – your partner.”
“You’ll have to figure that one out for yourself,” I said before kissing her nose. “But, until then, I can show you exactly what that money can do.” And without another word, I took her by the wrist and hoisted her out of bed.
Chapter 11: Shelly
LATER THAT NIGHT.
We rolled onto Broadway. Grayson had ordered me another dress. This one was black and it glittered like the nighttime sky every time I moved. The tight material hugged my body, creating an hourglass figure I never knew existed.
Grayson rounded the car and wrapped his arm around my waist. He leaned against my neck and kissed me there. “I have to mark my territory. I wouldn’t want any of these other men thinking they could snatch you away from me.”
“First of all, I’m not your territory.” I snapped. “Second of all, you were the one who bought me such a revealing dress. They probably wouldn’t be looking my way if my breasts were actually covered. I’m one wardrobe malfunction away from flashing the world.”
Grayson chuckled. “Oh, lay off. I saw the way your eyes lit up at the sight of this dress. You like it, don’t even lie.” When he finished speaking, he tossed the car keys at the valet. The young man got behind the wheel and drove off. Another luxury vehicle took its place.
Out stepped a tall, beautiful woman with golden hair. She had a killer smile and she flashed it right at Grayson.
“Madison.” He greeted, leaving me behind. “It’s a pleasure – as always.” He took her hand and kissed her knuckles.
The woman laughed and the sound seemed to pierce right through my soul. I ground my teeth together as jealousy flared inside my body. I walked right up to them and cleared my throat. “Honey, we should probably get inside. The show is about to start any minute now and I wouldn’t want to miss anything.”
“Oh?” The woman tilted her head and raised her manicured nails up to her lips. “And who might this be?”
“I’m Grayson’s girlfriend and I’d appreciate it if you didn’t flirt with him so blatantly. Now, I’m not trying to start a fight or anything –” My voice took on a certain edge as I stepped closer. Before things could escalate any further, Grayson took me by the elbow and reeled me into his body.
“You’ll have to excuse her, Madison. She’s a jealous one but God do I love her.”
Madison smiled. “I apologize for the misunderstanding. Grayson is just an old-time friend of mine. I haven’t seen him in quite a while.”
I narrowed my eyes in her direction. “An old-time friend, huh?” The morning’s conversation came to mind. Could this be Grayson’s so-called business partner? No, she couldn’t be. Miss Blonde didn’t look like the type to run an illegal operation.
“Yes.” Just then, she was called on by another woman. She politely excused herself and walked away with a click of her heels and a sway of her hips. My jaw tensed just at the sight of her. It honestly wasn’t fair that some people ended up being so beautiful.
“What was all that about?” Grayson asked as we approached the ticket counter.
“Nothing,” I muttered.
“Nothing? It looked like you were gonna pounce on her for a second. I never thought you could be so jealous –”
“I’m not jealous.” I countered.
“If you say so.” He took my hand and laced our fingers together. “But I want you to know that you have nothing to worry about. To me, you’re the most beautiful girl in the world.”
“Quit it.” I snapped as I felt my cheeks blooming with warmth. I turned away so he wouldn’t see.
“Here we are, front row seats.” He waved his arm, motioning toward a couple of empty rows.
“Wait, you bought us front row seats to Broadway?”
“Mhm.” He answered like it was the most typical thing in the world.
“These must have cost you an arm and a leg.”
“A couple of thousand. No big deal.” He sat down and placed his hand on my thigh. “Pocket change in my books.”
It was hard to fathom having so much money at one’s disposal. Still, I couldn’t deny the fact that it felt good to be pampered.
The lights dimmed and I found myself resting my head on Grayson’s shoulder. He rubbed my arm as the curtains drew aside, revealing a lone actor sitting on the stage.
IN THE END, THE PERFORMANCE was absolutely fantastic. The whole audience rose to their feet to cheer. Flowers were thrown at the actors.
“I thought they only did that in movies...” I whispered over at Grayson. “There’s so many of them.”
“That’s what happens when there’s a great performance.” He said. “They make sure to let the actors know they did a good job.”
Grayson waited for the lights to come on before taking my hand in his. He had no issue navigating through the crowd. In fact, people seemed to part before him like he was Moses going up against the Red Sea.
Soon, we arrived at the bar. Everything about it was classy and vintage from the mirror lining the back wall to the crystal glasses.
He hoisted me by the hips and eased me onto a stool. Sitting in such a chair caused the slit of dress to fall to the wayside, exposing most of my leg. Grayson’s attention was quickly drawn to it. His lips twitched with satisfaction as he placed his leg dangerously high. Any higher and he’d be fingering my panties but maybe that was his intentions.
“What can I get for you folks?” The bartender asked. He was wearing a full-on tuxedo, complete with a bowtie.
“Two glasses of your finest wine.” He answered, handing over a couple hundred-dollar bills. Grayson went through money like a fish through water.
“Actually, I’ll have some champagne, if you don’t mind,” I interjected. “The finest.”
The bartender nodded.
“When did you start liking champagne?”
“Well, if I’m going to be a rich man’s girlfriend, I better act the part.” The bartender arrived with our drinks so I took my glass, spun it between my fingers, and enjoyed my first sip. To be honest, it tasted like literal dirt but I stomached it if only to make a point.
“You hate it, don’t you?” He could see right through me. Then again, Grayson always could.
All I did was offer him a smile as I took another sip. This one was a little better but it was still rather awful.
He laughed but nonetheless enjoyed his drink, his hand still resting on my thigh.
And for a moment, I imagined that things could work out between us. That maybe, just maybe, we could have a future together – the future I always wanted. We’d get married and start a family all our own. A nice little house by the waterfront with a dock perfect for diving. Oh, if only such a come true. But deep down I knew it was nothing more than a dream.
This euphoria would not last.
I’ve been through all this before.
Grayson swoops in, sweeps me off my feet, and then dumps me in the dirt just as fast.
And yet, even after this has happened a million times, I refuse to move on. When will I learn to stop waiting?
I finished my glass of champagne and that’s when I came to the realization: I can’t.
I can’t move on because I love this man and it’s a curse I’ll have to bear for the rest of my life.
Chapter 12: Grayson
“WHERE ARE WE GOING now?” Shelly asked as we got back to the car. She immediately started to take off her shoes. “Why are heels such torture devices?”
“You’re the one who insisted on ordering them from the catalog.” I pointed out as I eased along the coast. The water was amazingly calm and with the moonlight glistening along the surface, it looked like something utterly celestial. “And to answer
your question, we’re taking a little trip on my yacht.”
“Yacht?” Shelly nearly choked on the word.
“Why do you sound surprised?” I raised an eyebrow as an amused expression painted my face.
“Can you even drive a yacht?”
“Technically, yes. I got my captain’s license about a year ago. But, typically, I just hire someone to do it for me so that I can enjoy my time.”
“I’m sure you enjoy your time with plenty of blondes.”
I stopped the car.
Shelly flew forward in her seat but I caught her with my arm. “Will you stop saying things like that? I know you may not believe me but you really are the only woman I’ve ever wanted.” Before she could protest, I took her cheeks between my hands and pulled her into a passionate kiss. I wanted my lips to tell her everything my words failed to express. I wanted her to know that this time, I was serious.
Honk!
Our kiss was cut short by an impatient driver. I was forced to pull away and keep on my route.
Neither one of us said another word for the duration of our ride.
When we arrived at the dock, Shelly followed me, leaving her shoes in the car. She moaned under her breath as she felt the soft sand between her toes. “Wait a minute, will you?” I had advanced onto the pier. When I turned around to look at her, I swear my heart stopped. Illuminated by the moonlight, she looked like a goddess.
I held my breath half expecting her to disappear.
“What is it about the sea breeze that’s so wonderful?” She asked with a contented smile on her face.
“You always did love the water.” I mused. “Maybe that’s why I named the boat after you.”
“You did?” She asked.
“Mhm.” I pointed over at it. “Christened her Shelly Seaside. Corny, I know, but I like it.”
