Revealing the Biker's Destiny (Dogs of Fire: Savannah Chapter Book 9) Page 18

I arched into his hand, but it was suddenly gone, and I couldn’t stop a whimper.

“I got you, KB. Give me a sec.” He sat up and opened his nightstand drawer, pulling out a rectangular thing that looked like a remote, but there were wires coming out of it.

  “What is that?” I rasped.

He smiled at me over his shoulder. “I want you on your back, hands at your sides.”

I pressed my lips together and did as he instructed. I was nervous, but I reminded myself that I trusted him fully, so I was really more excited.

He faced me again, his knees touching my side, and he smiled. “Close your eyes.”

  I did so immediately.

“Something cold on your tits, baby, but just stay still.”

I licked my lips and nodded, shivering as he rolled one nipple between his fingers, then the other, something cold lingering when he released them, but it didn’t last for long because he pressed something flat against my nipples.

“Gonna turn this on and you tell me if it’s too much.”

I didn’t have time to react as a gentle shock buzzed through me. I let out a squeak. “Oh, god.”

  “Too much?”

I met his eyes. “No, what is that?”

He grinned. “TENS unit. You like this, we’ll add the third contact next time.”

  “Third?”

He leaned over, kissing me as his hand slid between my legs. “For your clit.”

“Oh, yes, let’s do that now.”

“Love it when you go all KB on me.” He chuckled, dropping a little gel on my sensitive nub, then placing a pad over it. “Ready?”

I squirmed as I nodded, and he turned the dial.

  “Jesus!” I hissed.

  “Too much?”

“No.” I gripped the sheets. “I want your dick.”

He grinned, shifting so he was kneeling between my legs.

“Now, Shutter,” I ordered, and he buried himself deep.

  I came instantly.

He pulled the pad off my clit but didn’t touch the ones on my nipples as he linked my fingers with his and dragged my arms above my head, rocking into me gently at first, then harder, building another climax in me.

  “Hold it, Catalina,” he ordered.

I arched into him trying to obey but could feel it rising in me. “Shutter…”

  “Hold it.”

I whimpered, biting down hard on his shoulder as he slammed into me, burying himself deep, over and over.

“Shutter!” I hissed. “Get there, baby.”

It took a few more seconds before he growled, “Now, Catalina.”

I cried out as I came, sliding my fingers into his hair the second he released my hands. “Holy cow,” I panted out.

Silas kissed me gently as he removed the TENS pads and dropped everything on the floor, before rolling me so we were facing each other, still connected.

  “Good?”

I chuckled, still trying to catch my breath. “Very, very good.”

“Thank you for being the sexiest woman God put on this earth.”

“But you don’t believe in God,” I pointed out.

“When I look at you, I have second thoughts.”

“Oh my god, Silas, you are… everything.” I cupped his cheek. “You’re so ’mantic.”

He pressed his nose to mine, then kissed me gently. “I love you.”

  “Love you too.”

As I snuggled close to him, my body and soul at peace, I sent up a silent prayer of thanks to the gods of destiny. I had been given everything and I would never take that for granted.

  EPILOGUE

  Shutter

  Three months later…

“My name is Catalina, and my home is the one you chose to light on fire. Mr. Bly, I know the hardship you faced when you lost your son. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child, but I do know loss. The loss of my grandparents and father, then my mother, and now, because of you, I have lost photographs, precious mementos from my grandmother, and books that my grandfather used to read to me as a child. Things that, granted, are only things, but they were the last physical reminders I had of wonderful people who loved me.”

I forced down the rage threatening to release as Catalina read her impact statement to Bruce Bly. He’d been convicted of arson and attempted murder and was going to prison for the rest of his natural life, but I still wanted to wrap my hands around his neck and squeeze until he no longer lived. Barb sat between me and Zim, and she reached out and took my hand, leaning against me. It helped to remind me where I was and that I was covered. Melonie was on my right and she scooted a little closer, so our arms were touching.

“Your misguided sense of revenge put an innocent little girl, a girl who was forced to witness her own mother being murdered in front of her, in danger. Your misguided sense of revenge almost took her away from a man who, despite his own past abuse and tragedy, took in that same little girl and loved her as his own when he didn’t need to. Your misguided sense of revenge also almost took me away from the man who has worked harder than anyone I know to pull himself out of his tragic and abuse-filled past to become the best of us,” she continued.

Barb squeezed my hand, and I took a deep breath. This wasn’t about me. It was about the courage my woman was showing by not only publicly sharing but showing her heart to a man who probably didn’t care. We’d left Nova with Willow, because she really didn’t need to know that someone had tried to kill her, again.

“I will mourn the loss of my mementos, as I will mourn the loss of my home, but I will walk out of here, knowing that I still have the only thing that matters. The love of a man I don’t deserve and the chance to make a difference for a little girl who deserves everything good in the world.” Catalina patted her chest. “I am so, so sorry for your loss, Mr. Bly. I do hope that you’ll find some kind of peace before you face your maker, but please, I beg of you, hear me. Your misguided sense of revenge will eat you up, even more than the loss of your little boy, and that makes me sad for you. It breaks my heart. I want you to know, I forgive you. When I walk out of this courthouse, my wonderful man next to me, I will forget about what you’ve done. I will, in fact, forget about you all together.” She turned to the judge. “Thank you for the time to speak, Your Honor.” She folded her letter again, her hands shaking as she did, and made her way back to me.

I wrapped my arms tight around her and held her close, kissing her temple. “I love you.”

“I love you too,” she whispered as Barb reached for her hand. She took it and held it as the judge issued his sentence. Cat was now between me and Melonie, holding both Barb and Melonie’s hands, while her brother had his hand on her shoulder from the pew behind us. She was surrounded by her people, as was I.

Once court was dismissed, we walked out of the courthouse, her brother and Posey close beside us, Zim and Barb close behind, and my club brothers encircling our little unit.

It was a perfect end to a difficult day.

I walked into the barn, heading back to Doc’s office. Rabbit had news for me on the encrypted flash drive I’d found in Darlene’s secret drawer but didn’t want to discuss it over the phone. I’d left Catalina sleeping to drop Nova at school since she didn’t work today, and I still had some time to kill before my first session.

Catalina had given her victim statement a week ago, and I’d been watching closely to make sure she didn’t spiral, but she seemed a lot lighter, which was a weight off my shoulders.

“Hey, brother,” Rabbit said, as I walked into Doc’s office.

I gave him a chin lift and Doc waved his hand toward the chair next to Rabbit. “Have a seat.”

“Jesus, it’s that bad?” I asked, sitting slowly.

“It’s not good,” Rabbit said, turning his laptop to face me.

  “What am I lookin’ at?”

“I decrypted the flash drive you found at Darlene’s,” Rabbit said. “We know who Nova’s biological father is.

  “And that’s important, because…?”

  “It’s Mike Hollings.”

  “Jesus, fuck,” I hissed out.

  “Yeah,” Doc said.

“Do you think he knows?” I asked.

“There are no records of child support, her original birth certificate has “FATHER UNKNOWN” listed, but for whatever reason, Darlene had a paternity test done.”

“And we don’t want him to know this.” I pressed my palms to my eyes and sighed. “So, we say nothin’ for the moment.”

“Agreed,” Doc said. “You gotta know that Elmer’s body was found off the 516. He’d been shot in the head.”

  “You think Mike did it?”

Doc shrugged. “Don’t know, don’t care. But just keep your guard up. We’ve sent the rest of the information to Taxi, but I need a guarantee from you you’ll keep your shit locked down, brother. Until we know the full extent of all of this, we need to keep this information confidential.”

I nodded. “Yeah, I get it. I want Nova safe, so I’ll wait for updates, but the second you have a game plan, I want to know about it.”

Doc nodded, and once I thanked Rabbit, I headed upstairs to bury myself deep in my woman.

“Get in here, wife,” Silas ordered as I sat on the edge of the pool, my feet dangling in the water.

I grinned, watching him break the surface, his long hair wet, his body glistening. It was dusk and Nova was having a sleep-over with Alfie, so we were taking advantage of our privacy with an evening skinny dip. When we’d remodeled the house, Silas had surprised me and Nova with a backyard oasis, complete with a slide that dumped you in our brand-new pool, and a hot tub for when it was cold.

I pushed off the side of the pool, the water cooling my heated skin. I was currently four months pregnant, my little baby bump already showing, and the buoyancy of the water made me feel free. I did not have a fun first trimester, but the second was so far a breeze.

So much had happened since our wedding day. We’d ended up having a bigger party than expected, but it was perfect just the same. Nolan walked me down the aisle and Zim stood as Silas’s best man, while Barb took the role my mother would have if she were alive, and she had quickly cemented her place in my heart.

After much planning, Zim and Barb, with my help in keeping it a secret, had presented Silas with adoption papers. His. The couple had officially adopted him, giving him the parents he deserved. Although, they’d stressed that this did not have to happen, Silas had changed his last name to Zimmerman which had sent Barb into hysterics and in gaining their son, they gained me as well.

There was even talk of the couple moving down to Savannah when Zim retired to be closer to us and I was already scouting for houses close by.

The morning of the wedding, I’d had a private moment with Silas to show him my dress before the rest of the world saw it and he insisted on taking photos of me. They were magnificent. I’d never felt more beautiful in my life, and even the pictures his assistant Jerry had taken weren’t nearly as good. Don’t get me wrong. We chose Jerry to be our official photographer for a reason, and I was thrilled with the images we received, but there was just something extra about the ones Silas took, and continues to take, of me.

I’d found out I was pregnant the day after my victim impact statement in Bruce Bly’s trial. It had provided us a wonderful chance to focus on the baby and forget about the man who’d nearly ruined our lives.

Nova was thriving and she’d asked a few months ago if I could be her second mommy, which of course, had sent me into a crying jag that only managed to send her into one as well. Once we’d pulled ourselves together, I told her I’d love nothing more than to be her second mommy, so we’d made it official and her last name was now Zimmerman. Zim and Barb’s family was growing exponentially.

Darlene’s home had been released to us once the crime techs had pretty much ripped it apart, but Silas was able to save a few things for Nova’s keepsake box. I had made it a point to take as many pictures as possible of Darlene and Nova and frame them, hanging them around the house so she’d never forget her first mommy.

Mike Hollings was still a cop, but Silas assured me that they were working to bring him down, it was just going to take some time. I trusted him and the ‘people’ he had working on it, particularly Rabbit and his boss, Taxi. Since Nova was flourishing, that was the most important thing and I’d leave the bad guys to their fate.

“How’s baby Titus?” Silas asked, laying his palm flat on my belly.

We’d found out yesterday we were having a boy and we’d already decided to name him after Silas’s brother.

“Well, he’s not making me puke twelve times a day, so I’d say he’s great.”

Silas chuckled, kissing me gently. “Really hopin’ the next six don’t do this to you.”

  “Ah, nope,” I retorted. “One.”

  “Five.”

  “Two.”

  “Four.”

“No again,” I said, laughing when he lifted me and walked me out of the deep end. I looped my arms around his neck. “What are you doing?”

“I’m gonna fuck you in the pool.”

I shivered. “You’re not really, are you?”

He grinned. “No. That would be unsanitary. We’ll save water sex for next time we’re at the barn.”

The property the barn sat on had a creek that ran parallel with the barn and it went on for several miles. The water was always fresh, and the kids loved to play in the summer. Hell, so did the adults.

“I’m gonna hold you to that.”

He laughed. “Oh, I have no doubt.”

Once out of the water, Silas set me on my feet and kissed me as he backed me through the sliding glass doors and into our bedroom.

“Couldn’t be happier you’re my destiny, baby.”

“You are so ’mantic,” I teased, and he grinned, kissing me again.

  “On your knees, Catalina.”

“Oh, yeah,” I breathed out and climbing onto the bed.

As Silas made love to me, I was humbled by the beauty that fate had brought to me. I had more love surrounding me than I could have ever imagined, and my world was perfect.
