by Shea Malloy

He bent his head and kissed her. Ana melted against him immediately, unashamed by how quickly her desire for him burned hot between her legs. His cock prodded her stomach and she reached for it, her fingers unable to encircle his impressive girth entirely. He was like hot steel in her palm. She deepened their kiss and he swallowed his groan when she gave his shaft an experimental squeeze.

Kozan broke their kiss and growled as he lifted her up. Ana wrapped her legs around his waist, his cock trapped between them and pressed against her heated core. She threw her head back, giving him free reign to nuzzle, kiss, and nibble her neck. Her breasts on display, he took the opportunity to feast on them. He buried his face between them as his slick, warm tongue licked a path to her nipples and his fangs grazed her flesh.

“Yes, yes…” Ana sighed, encouraging him. She tightened her grip around his shoulders as he covered one nipple entirely with his mouth and sucked on her flesh greedily. She squirmed, rubbing her pussy against his shaft in desperation. If she didn’t have him inside her soon, she’d go crazy.

“My impatient little mate,” he said in a low, sexy voice that made her skin tingle. He reached for her lips again, kissing her deeply.

“Please,” Ana begged, but the sound came out muffled with his mouth over hers. However, he already knew what she wanted. His fingers digging into her thighs, he raised her up so the head of his cock pressed against her slick entrance. She sank onto him, her mouth opening wider with every thick inch filling her.

“Fuck.” Kozan groaned and pressed his face against her neck when he pushed into her to the hilt. He was huge as hell, stretching her to the point where her inner walls could barely squeeze around him.

They moaned together when he moved her on his length. She’d never been with a man in a position like this, and so the way Kozan touched her deep with every thrust inside her was a new experience that pulled long whimpers from her lips.

Buoyed by his hands supporting her thighs, Ana bounced on him, spearing herself over and over again. The head of his cock rubbed against her sweet spot, her orgasm charging at her with each delicious glide.

“Oh god… Kozan…” she cried out, digging her fingernails into his back as she came hard. She squeezed her eyes shut, trembling against him from the intense pleasurable sensations pulsing in her core. He held her up when her grip on him loosened and continued to thrust up into her, elongating her orgasm.

As the spirals of ecstasy retreated, Kozan laid her down on the furs she’d worn. He kissed her again, then slipped from her as he rolled her over onto her stomach. He pulled her up so she was on her hands and knees, then caressed her spine and the curve of her waist.

She peered over her shoulder at him, her face heating at the hungry, appreciative look gleaming in his stunning silver eyes. A thrill of anticipation raced through her as he positioned himself behind her. He kissed a path along her spine up to her shoulder blade, each feathery touch making her shiver.

Then he raised himself up and guided himself inside her wet heat in one sure thrust. Ana gasped out at the abrupt intrusion as she rocked forward. She was reminded all over again of his massive size as it stretched her. When she squeezed around him, he groaned, retreated, and shoved into her again.

“Kozan… Kozan…” she breathed out as he took her hard and fast and deep. They were like animals rutting on the ground. Ana sank her fingernails into the fur beneath them as Kozan made her breasts bounce by ploughing into her.

She began to tremble, a familiar tightening sensation appearing where Kozan filled her. Kozan groaned, his length harder than ever as his fingers dug into her flesh where he gripped her hips. He was on the brink too. And then they fell over the edge together. She moaned aloud, her walls convulsing around him as intense heat swept throughout her body. He leaned forward, pressing his face against her neck as he came inside her. Ana felt the twin pricks of his fangs against her flesh and shuddered as her orgasm strengthened.

“Mine,” he growled into her ear, wrapping an arm around her midsection in a possessive grip.

“Yes,” Ana sighed. In that moment, she agreed with him completely. She gave herself to him entirely with no regrets. “I’m yours.”

  CHAPTER TEN

  Ana

They resumed their journey the next day. Thick, pale blue snow blanketed the floor, reaching almost as high as Kozan-the-wolf’s stomach. Even though the wind had lessened to an occasional breeze, it was colder than ever, and Ana was certain she’d be frozen in position by the time they got to wherever Kozan was taking her.

He still hadn’t told her where they were going, and this bothered Ana. Not because he was hiding anything from her, but because she had a suspicion he was taking her some place where she’d be able to return home.

Several days ago, returning to Earth was her deepest wish. She wasn’t sure how she felt about it now. Meeting Kozan and everyone here in Freize had changed her life completely. For the first time since her tía Paola passed away, she’d felt like she was part of a family that loved and cared for her. No distant cousins and mooching, ungrateful brothers existed here. She no longer felt alone.

In time, the snow lessened as their surroundings grew warmer. They came upon a forest thriving with strange looking trees, the grass on the floor a violet colour. Nary a twisted tree branch covered in snow. It was as if some invisible divider separated Freize from this forest. But when Kozan entered it, nothing blocked them.

“I might have to take off these furs soon,” Ana said. She bit her lips together when the memories of what Kozan had done to her the day before returned. He’d taken her repeatedly, as if he sought some prize to be the only man to make her come more times than she could count. Which he’d accomplished effortlessly.

She was jerked out of her pleasurable memories when Kozan came to an abrupt halt and lowered himself to the floor. She climbed off of him and he transformed, standing tall and broad-shouldered before her once more.

She felt shy beneath his gaze. They’d not spoken to each other since she’d fallen into a deep sleep after their vigorous fucking. She felt like their first intimate moment had bared all of her in more ways than the obvious and now she was a little worried of how he viewed her.

“Not much farther,” he said as he took her hand and led her forward. She gazed all around her in curiosity, but all she saw was twisted trees and all she heard was breeze rustling the leaves.

“Where are we?” she asked, watching him. Amidst all the violet grass and blue leaves, Kozan’s pale skin and white hair made him even more prominent in their environment. Then again, Ana conceded that even in Freize, where many of them looked similar to one another, Kozan always stood out.

  “Ekalon.”

  “Why are we in Ekalon?”

“There is another one of your kind here,” he said quietly. “A human female. She is wife and mate to the Ekalon tribe leader.”

“Really?” Ana’s eyebrows shot up, then gradually lowered as her suspicions strengthened. She came to a stop, tugging on Kozan’s hand so he could stop walking too. “You’re taking me to her, aren’t you?”

His features were impassive. “The day you first arrived, you begged me to release you, to let you return home. I could not because I did not know how. Now I do and intend to grant you your wish.”

“But…” She couldn’t finish the thought. What was she to say? That things had changed? That she was no longer certain she wanted to leave him? Was that how she truly felt? She didn’t know. Everything had suddenly turned upside down. The thought of never seeing him again left this physical ache in her chest, but could she sacrifice never seeing her family again too?

Kozan resumed their walk and she followed him quietly, her emotions in turmoil. She was so caught up in her thoughts, she didn’t notice when Kozan came to an abrupt stop. She walked into him, bumping her face against his broad, naked back.

  “Sorry,” she mumbled.

“They’re here,” Kozan said, turning his head left and right.
Then he inclined his head, gazing skyward.

“Who?” She peered up at the sky and her heart nearly leapt out of her mouth at the sight of three men floating above them. What the hell? She should have known there were other extraordinary abilities on this planet than just beings who could transform into wolves. Now there were beings who could fly!

The tallest of the three spoke as they all drifted down to the ground. She didn’t understand a word he’d said.

Kozan responded in this new language she didn’t know, his voice authoritative and unafraid. The man who spoke turned his gaze on her, his eyebrows lifting in recognition. His skin golden-brown, he had long dark hair pulled back into a low ponytail. Like Kozan, he was incredibly fit and his skin was covered in indecipherable markings. Unlike Kozan, he wore pants.

“I am nii Aizak,” he said, surprising her by speaking in English. Maybe this was the Ekalon leader who was married to a human. He moved closer, then stopped as he gave Kozan a wary look briefly before meeting her gaze again. “What is your name, human?”

“Ana,” she said, her voice tiny. She wiped her forehead. She was sweating in all this fur.

Aizak nodded once, then spoke to Kozan, indicating they follow him. The two men who accompanied him took flight, becoming indistinguishable dots in the sky in a matter of seconds.

“What’s happening?” Ana asked Kozan quietly as she walked beside him. She knew the answer to her question, even though she didn’t know how to speak the language. Aizak had agreed to take her to see his human wife.

He looked at her, his silver eyes even brighter in the daylight, his gaze every bit as captivating as when they’d first met. Her heart squeezed with dread at the thought of never seeing him again.

  “You are going home.”

But my home is here with you. It was what he’d told her when he’d taken her to see the Great Mother.

Aizak led them further into the forest until they came upon what looked like a village. All the houses were made of wood and had cone-shaped roofs. Ana gazed at the Ekalon people going about their daily business and some stared back at her in curiosity too. A few even smiled at her as she passed. She returned their friendly smiles with a weak one, upset by the inner battle in her heart. She wanted desperately to reach for Kozan’s hand and feel his warmth against her skin, but kept her hands fisted in the furs as she walked.

In the middle of the village sat the largest of the wooden homes. Aizak led them to it and was about to enter when a woman came out holding a baby. She stopped dead in her tracks the moment she saw Aizak, and then her gaze swept over Kozan before landing on Ana.

  Ana’s lips parted in surprise.

  Holy crap.

Aizak’s wife and mate—and clearly the mother of his baby—was Hausten’s assistant, Marissa.

  CHAPTER ELEVEN

  Kozan

Standing a few steps away, Kozan watched Ana as she conversed with Aizak’s mate in that strange language she’d spoken to him when they’d first met. He catalogued her beautiful face and the sweet sound of her voice. She was his mate, his wife, his reason for existence, and now he was about to let her go. He had to preserve what memories he could of her before she was gone forever.

He turned and took a step back, about to shift into his wolf, when Aizak’s words halted him.

“If you love her why do you let her leave?” Aizak regarded him with a knowing look.

“This is what she wants,” Kozan said, his voice harsh.

  “And you are certain?”

He remained quiet. What if Ana had changed her mind? What if in the time they’d spent together, she’d come to accept him as hers? The way she’d given herself to him the day before had weakened his resolve to take her to Ekalon. He’d wanted nothing more than to keep her in that den and lavish her body with his touch until the end of their days.

No. It was all a foolish hope. The happiness in her eyes at the sight of another like her was proof enough. She wanted to return home and be among her own kind.

He didn’t answer Aizak. Instead, he shifted into his wolf. Ana turned around and saw him, her smile falling away as her beautiful face creased in panic.

  “Kozan,” she said. “Kozan!”

But he turned around and sprinted away. He didn’t look back as, once again, someone he cared for was taken from him.

  * * *

Kozan breathed deeply in relief as the tribunal officers left with the last set of complainants. He stretched his arms and legs and strode outside. He was in an irritable mood and what he wanted most was to be alone and hunt.

Truth be told, he’d been in a less than pleasant mood since taking Ana to Ekalon three days ago. His den felt too large and too empty. He missed having her close, seeing her face, hearing her soft voice, inhaling her intoxicating scent. He’d often heard that the gods could be cruel. Never could he agree more with that sentiment. They’d given him his fated and just as swiftly taken her away from him.

But he didn’t want to dwell on that. He didn’t want to think about Ana at all. He was the Sor now, and his responsibility was to his people. The warmer season had just begun which meant the prized meat of the ice water snakes from the Alahaz Lake that his people favoured would be easier to attain.

He was about to shift when Rin came barrelling toward him.

“Sor Kozan, come with me!” she demanded, her words coming out in little gasps as she tried to catch her breath. “You must see!”

Kozan frowned. She didn’t seem alarmed. On the contrary, her eyes brimmed with excitement.

  “What is it?”

Her smile became secretive. “It is no good if I tell you. Come see for yourself.”

“Rin, as I have told you before, I am well,” Kozan began, shaking his head in mild exasperation. For the past few days, Rin had tried whatever she could to liven his mood. No doubt this was her latest scheme in that regard.

“Please, my Sor.” She clasped her hands and peered up at him, widening her eyes to play on his compassion. “Just for a moment. I swear by the gods you will not be disappointed.”

Kozan swore beneath his breath as her innocent features and earnest words broke down his resolve.

“Where must I go to see whatever it is you want me to see?” he asked, his voice resigned.

“Your den, my Sor,” she said, secretive smile back in place. She ran off ahead of him while he took his time. She waited at the entrance of his den, the strength of her excitement manifested in her grin.

“Rin—” he began, ready to remind her of the consequences of wasting a Sor’s time when he scented it. Scented her.

  His mate.

She walked toward him from within his den, a smile on her beautiful face. Rin did a little dance then scampered away, clearly satisfied with her handiwork.

Ana wore yet another one of those infernal coverings from her world with the stones down the front, except it had a fur-lined hood and was made of a bulkier material, ostensibly to protect her from the cold. But none of that mattered.

“Ana.” He reached for her immediately, but she raised a palm to his chest. Even though her fingers were covered with a soft material, her heat still soaked into his skin and his wolf growled with the need to strip her bare completely, and feel her skin directly against his as he buried himself inside her.

“What kind of husband abandons his wife in a strange place all by herself, hm?” she asked. “And without even saying goodbye at that.”

He grimaced. “It is true our parting was less than desirable. But leaving you was not an easy choice. I did not want to delay it.”

“You’re so arrogant,” she said. “You didn’t even ask me if I wanted to leave.”

“It is what you demanded when you first—”

“I know that,” she cut in, letting out a sigh. “But a person can change their mind, can’t they?”

When he reached for her again, she let him. He pulled her close and nuzzled her neck, revelling in her delicious scent. She curved her hands a
round his neck and let out a little moan when he pressed his lips to hers.

“You will not leave me again,” he said, his voice roughened by desire for her.

“Idiota,” she said in her own language, as she caressed his face. “You are my husband and my mate. I don’t want to be anywhere else than right here with you.”

  Preview: Aizak

Marissa closed her eyes and welcomed the feel of Aizak’s lips on hers. Her body was afire with an arousal so intense that only his touch would be able to calm her. The kiss rapidly turned deeper, fiercer, rougher. His hands travelled up from the back of her neck and into her hair, tugging her head back so he could dominate her mouth with his.

And Marissa let him. She was his, after all. Every single bit of her belonged to this powerful alien man, willingly, shamelessly. She should feel ashamed by this prospect but she didn’t. She was his fated mated he’d said, and by that logic he was hers too. Nothing else could explain the sweet heat in her lower belly that burned hotter when his lips grazed her jawline then her neck, or the way something seemed to sizzle just beneath the surface of her skin as he pushed her dress off her body.

“Perfect,” he said as he eyed her body with a possessive glint in his eyes. He’d seen her naked before but the way he looked at her now made her shiver with excitement. Often, she’d feel self aware of Neil’s gaze on her body, but never with Aizak. He regarded her with a hunger that would have been terrifying had she not been so aroused.
