DEBORAH ELLIS
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I WOULD LIKE TO acknowledge and thank Ann Featherstone and Gail Winskill for all their hard work in helping to shape this book. I am deeply appreciative of the real-life Farrin for trusting me with her story. Thanks also to my father, Keith Ellis, and to Heidy Van Dykfor their ongoing encouragement. And I owe so much to the women and men who went before me, who stood up for their truth, took the blows, suffered the hatred and loneliness, and paved the way for me to live a much, much easier life.
