Grayson took two fingers, inserting them into her. She was so warm, so wet. His cock bounced against him, as if begging for its turn, wanting to be buried deep inside of her. His digits inside her flicked, bending, moving in and out as his tongue assaulted her bud. She writhed with passion, hips moving, as if she could get more of him. He reached up with his other hand, pinning her hip to the bed. He could feel her insides quivering.
“Don’t stop! Oh, God,” she cried out. That was something he didn’t plan on doing. Now that he had a taste, he didn’t think he could ever stop, ever walk away again. They had crossed a line, and there was no going back.
The pressure increased as he quickened his movements. The moans coming from her mouth drove him wild, knowing he was causing those sounds of pleasure. She screamed out, and her insides clamped down on him as she came. Her warmth coated his fingers. His movement ceased, as they both panted. Collecting himself, he stood, lowering his boxers. His penis was hard and standing up straight. He pulled at Char’s body, helping her move all the way onto the bed. Stretched across it, she was still in a post orgasm haze. He crawled on top of her, holding his cock. Slowly, he moved it up and down her slit, coating himself in her juices. He balanced on his elbows, hands in her hair, brushing her face.
His entry was slow, little by little, he pushed inside of her. Her legs wrapped around his hips, heels pressing into his ass. He had to close his eyes and take a deep breath. Already on the precipice, he was going to lose control.
She fit him like a glove, wrapping perfectly around him. She still clenched inside, milking him. Shoving the last bit inside, he held still—not only to enjoy the feel of being inside of her, but to grapple for control. She reached up, wrapping her arms around his neck again, pulling his face close. Her eyes wide open, they looked at each other.
Finally, she grinned. “Feels amazing,” she panted out. “Make love to me.” Her head came up, capturing his mouth. They kissed, and his hips moved on command. He slid in and out, rotating a bit, to press against her core as he did. She mewed against his mouth, kissing him harder. His stomach tightened as the pressure built. Frenzied movements quickened, her hips rising to meet his with every thrust. Their bodies slammed together, both reaching, trying to grasp their release.
Emotions welled up inside of Grayson. He was unsure what to feel. This just seemed so right, filled a void inside of him. No other woman had done that.
Char screamed out, nails digging into his back, legs tightening around him. He felt her release on his shaft as he held still. As she milked him, it coaxed him over the edge and he joined her. Dropping on top of her, he went limp. Rolling to the side so he didn’t crush her beneath him, she weakly moaned as he pulled out of her.
She moved her head to rest on his chest, arm draped across his stomach. He wrapped an arm around her, pulling the blanket from the foot of the bed, over her. There they fell asleep.
Chapter 11
Trying to peel her eyes open, Char couldn’t see anything in the pitch blackness. It took her a minute to realize where she was. She could feel the heated naked body under her. Grayson. She’d had sex with Grayson. In her mind, she squealed in excitement. Then her heart started to race.
Crap, she’d slept with Grayson. What now? Would he go back to ignoring she existed? Would Robin be mad? Guilt ate at her. Carefully trying to not wake him, she slid from his grasp. In the dark, she fumbled, finding his boxers, and sweater. She slipped into them, and tiptoed out to the kitchen. She fumbled for the light switch, blinding herself when she flicked it and they popped on. Searching the fridge, she grabbed a bottle of water, and popped a strawberry into her mouth. As she went to take a sip, arms wrapped around her waist. Frightened, she almost dropped the bottle.
“Didn’t mean to scare you,” Grayson whispered into her ear.
She turned to face him, allowing the fridge to shut behind her. “I didn’t hear you. Did I wake you?”
“Yes, you were gone, I got cold.” His words were soft. He took the water from her, sipping it, without breaking their connection.
“So,” she said, pausing. “I guess I should go home?” Where did they go from here? What now?
“I forgot a condom.” He stated it out of nowhere, and it took a minute to register what he said. Crap, they had. She groaned, her hand fluttering to her stomach. “Move in with me.” She instantly put her guard up.
“Move in? I don’t need you to take care of me out of obligation. I have a good job now. I’m doing well on my own. It will be fine.” Char tried to move from his hold, but he tightened his grip.
“I’m not asking because I feel obligated. I’m asking because now that I’ve had you, I can’t let you go. I want you by my side. You’re as excited about plans for this place as I am. Help me.”
“I love my job. You’re asking me to give up my life and live yours just because we had sex?” Attitude seeped into every word.
He moved back as if her words slapped him. He ran a hand through his hair, a movement she knew was a nervous tic. “That wasn’t me asking you to give up your life. I know you love your new job. Keep it. I just, I was trying to share my life with you.”
“Don’t you find that too fast? Seriously, we go from not talking, to have sex once, and now you want me to live with you?”
“It’s not like you don’t know me, haven’t known me a long time. I keep picturing you here, in the kitchen drinking coffee with me before work. Sleeping next to me at night. That’s all.”
Char had to admit, not only was it a dream come true, but wow, it was sweet.
“Can I think on it? I mean, this is all happening fast.”
“Yea,” he said, walking away. He left her standing alone in the kitchen.
Following, she found him back in the bedroom, unpacking a suitcase of clothes into the new dresser. Without another word, Char found her clothes and got dressed, quietly laying his sweater on the bed.
“So,” she said, stopping at the doorway. “We’ll talk tomorrow?”
He nodded and went into the bathroom that connected the master suite. Tears threatened to spill over, so she collected her things and left. On the drive home, she allowed them to fall. What was wrong with her? She had been in love with Grayson for so long, and now, she could have what she wanted.
So what was holding her back? Sure, it was a scary thought that they could be pregnant over a stupid mistake, but would it be so bad to have Grayson’s child? Was it that Robin may be angry? She didn’t want to lose her best friend, but Robin knew she crushed on Grayson. Wouldn’t she be happy for them? It was all too much. Arriving home, Char threw herself on her bed, and closed her eyes.
She should call Robin, tell her now. Maybe some courage first. She got up, heading to the kitchen for a glass of wine. As she poured, she dialed up her best friend.
“Hey, girlie, how’s it going?” Robin’s cheerful immediately made Char feel better.
“I have…” She couldn’t get the words out.
“What’s wrong sweetie? You sound sad.”
“I should be happy. Something happened today that, I’ve wanted for a long time. I just, I feel guilty. Promise you won’t be mad and stop being my best friend?”
“Ok, now you’re scaring me,” Robin said, worry filling her voice.
Char decided to just spit it out, get it over with. “I slept with Grayson and he asked me to move in.” Robin’s squeals deafened her, she had to pull the phone away from her ear.
“I knew it, knew it!” her friend shouted.
“Knew what?”
“That he loved you too! This is fantastic, now we can be sisters.”
“Wait, no!”
“No? You’re not moving in?”
“I sort of left.”
“Oh, Char, pack a bag and go back!”
“You’re not mad? I mean, it’s your brother.” Char didn’t understand. She figured her friend would be upset at them.
“I’ve been waiting for so long. Why do you think Justin got
you that job there? We knew he was looking to buy a place in the area! I hoped you would run into each other, I’m just happy it happened so quick.”
That meddling witch. This was payback, for her tricking her into getting married. It had to be.
“We can’t, I can’t do that Rob.”
“No, no, no. You will pack a bag and go back tonight.” Her friend used her bossy tone. The one that was hard to ignore. Char laughed with relief.
“But, what if he decides he doesn’t like me, or want me to stay? I don’t want to give up my place and then be left with nothing.”
“That’s not going to happen. Listen, I gotta run, but I expect next time we talk, that you’re going to tell me, that you’re living with my brother.” She hung up before Char could answer.
Char stood in her kitchen, thinking. Could this work? She touched her stomach. The risk was low, that she was actually going to get pregnant from one time. The idea of living with Grayson though, starting a family, it was unreal. Making up her mind, she stormed to her bedroom and shut the door.
Chapter 12
A knock on the door stopped Grayson as he was carrying a bag of garbage down the stairs.
“Come in. It’s open.” He had been upstairs starting the remodel on one of the rooms. As the door opened, Char poked her head inside. Seeing him, she opened the door wider, standing behind it.
“Starting work already?” she asked. He nodded, setting the bag on the floor. He hadn’t been able to sleep or think or do anything all night, thinking of her walking out. Sure, it was spur of the moment to ask her to move in, but the rejection hurt. So, he had started work and kept at it through the night. He checked his watch, realizing it was almost noon. Damn. He was tired. Silently, he stared at her.
“So, I was thinking.” She stopped, looking at him.
“And?” He questioned, his tone slightly harsh. She flinched and he regretted it. But he couldn’t keep the pain out of his voice.
“I’m sorry if I hurt you last night.” She fidgeted, he found it cute every time she got nervous. She would fidget. “I couldn’t sleep last night. Because you weren’t there. Which is stupid and like, basically creepy stalkerish. I mean, we had sex once, and now I can’t sleep without you?” He could see her trying to collect her thoughts, realizing she was rambling. Grayson stepped closer to her. “No,” she held out a hand. “Don’t come closer. I can’t think when you’re near me, and I need to say this.”
He stopped, afraid to move at all, afraid to send her running.
“I freaked out. I’ve thought of this for so long that now it’s happening, and I got scared. I was afraid Robin would be mad at me and I can’t stand losing my best friend. Or, what if you got bored with me, or realized, I’m not actually interesting?”
“Never. You’re quite interesting.”
She giggled slightly. “Yea, Robin basically told me she would disown me if I didn’t come back.” Without another word, Char opened the door fully. He could see the suitcase on the steps behind her. His gaze returned to her. “So I packed some things to tide me over, until we decide if this is something that will stick or whatever.” She shrugged.
“Can I move now? I’d really like to kiss you.” They both laughed, and she nodded. His feet moved quickly, carrying him across the entry. He took her in his arms, kissing her. His heart filled with an emotion he couldn’t quite describe. Happiness…love…something. It warmed him, crashing through his body. This was what he had been missing, what he needed.
Char finally pulled away, grabbing her suitcase and wheeling it in. “So, I’m gonna go unpack and then maybe we can take a nap or something?” She winked and he shut the door, then quickly followed her. Yeah, nap or something was right.
Epilogue
2 years later
“Gregory, get back here.” Char yelled out at her small son. He had run off with Robin’s daughter, Emma. Her niece. It was still weird, calling her best friend her sister, but it was fitting. Today was the day they would open the bed and breakfast. She couldn’t wait. They had worked so hard on it. Grayson came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
“He’s fine. Justin and Robin are walking around down there, checking over the vines. That means we’re alone for a minute. You were so busy yesterday at that open house, then everyone showed up today. I feel like I haven’t seen you.”
She giggled and then winced as he kissed her neck. His hand on her stomach bounced as their daughter reminded them that they aren’t alone. He stroked her bulging center, calming the baby inside.
“Sorry Lily, you’re right, we aren’t alone. Daddy should remember that.” Char sighed, loving this.
Her husband grinned against her neck. “Sorry, Mommy. Sorry, Lily,” he whispered. Char realized she had everything she could ever want. She was successful at realty, their bed and breakfast was opening, the winery was getting started, and she had her perfect family with her crush. What more could she want? Everything was perfect.
