  Chapter 17

Later that day Jas once again was standing in the garage waiting for Wulf and Draco to leave. Wulf had agreed to meet Katya but Draco was to accompany him. She could feel the tension between the two men but she refrained from mentioning it. Wulf had promised that he was going to make it clear to Katya that this was the last time they would meet. She was to liaise with Draco from now on. If she didn’t agree, they would arrange for another agent to take her place. Wulf had also wanted Draco to be there, to give Jas peace of mind about him meeting with Katya by himself.

Standing there in a pair of low-waisted faded jeans that hugged her hips perfectly, she looked sexy. She wore a navy T-shirt that was splattered with paint. Now that Wulf thought about it most of her clothes had paint splatters. He had to remind himself to get her new clothes.

Standing between Burkhart on her left and Caelius on her right she looked tiny, and lost. His heart beat with love for this woman, and the thought of her distress was ripping his heart out. She was trying to act so brave, he would make sure that they didn’t take long. Draco was already on his bike, giving Burkhart last minute instructions.

“Let’s do this!” Jas heard Wulf call out to Draco before they took off.

“Are you ready?” Burkhart was asking Caelius as they both moved towards their bikes. They were going to a hospital in the city. They had received info that the Keres MC were frequenting the hospital. Some patients were mysteriously dying when they were supposed to be recovering.

Apparently, the Keres were taking too much blood. This would give them enough power for a short time but it was killing the humans.

“Yeah let’s go. Jas maybe you should go inside?”

“Don’t worry I will, you guys be safe!” she called as she walked back towards the inside of the compound. Bion and Ceric were also out staking the building. Bjarni had challenged her to a PlayStation game. She was sure Wulf had put him up to it to keep her mind occupied. Brandr and Cassius were training and Celmund was in the Computer room. When she arrived at the entertainment room Bjarni was setting up the game.

“Come on Little Sister, let’s see what you’re made of,” he joked, giving her a lopsided grin.

Jas smiled at him settling on the couch and taking the control. “I have to warn you, I have never played video games.”

“Don’t worry about it, I’m sure that you will get the hang of it in no time.” Bjarni started by explaining which buttons to press and what the game was about. Jas tried to pay attention but she found her mind kept on wondering to what Wulf was doing.

Wulf parked outside the pub where they were to meet Katya and Draco parked next to him. They were early but Wulf wanted to make sure that they were there when she arrived. There was only one other table that was occupied with two women and one man. It looked like they had just come in for a drink. Both walked to the table at the back of the pub where the lighting was subdued.

“Let’s hope she doesn’t leave when she sees me,” Draco said, looking around.

“Not a chance. If she thinks that she’s getting a piece of me she will come in.” Wulf answered sarcastically as the waiter arrived to take their order. Looking at Wulf, Draco could see the tension bracketing his eyes.

“I’m sorry about this My Brother. I wish that you didn’t have to be here.”

“It isn’t your doing. She’s the one that insists on it being me. In a sense, it’s only right that I tell her that I now have a woman, and that it was only sex, between us. As soon as I left it was forgotten.” He knew it sounded cold hearted, especially now when he knew how it felt to have someone that meant everything to him. With Jasmine, they could be continents apart, and he still wouldn’t be able to forget her sassy smile or her natural perfume. He smiled, just thinking about her.

“I sure hope that smile is for Jas and not for the one we are about to see,” Draco teased. He was happy that Wulf had found his woman.

“You know, that there is no explanation possible for the feelings that fill your heart, your soul, your whole being when you have a woman. It feels like I have her soul in my keeping and I willingly give mine into her keeping. When she’s happy I feel all-powerful, when she’s hurt or sad it feels like my heart is being ripped apart. She has given herself into my keeping completely, not asking for anything in return, she is mine in every way and I am hers.” He declared with such intensity that Draco had no doubt about how precious Jas was to him.

“Well let’s get this over with, My Brother so you can get back to your woman. I think that Katya has just arrived.” Turning towards the entrance he saw Katya walking in. She was a tall, sexy redhead. Today she was wearing black leather pants and a navy-blue leather jacket, carrying her helmet under her arm. Katya rode a Yamaha MT-10. She had told him once that she rode bikes because it intimidated most men. She was a good agent who kept her emotions away from everything and everyone. Her parents had been Russian. They had died in the war; an American doctor at the time in Russia had adopted her and brought her to America. The only sign that she let show that she was displeased about Draco being, there was the slight narrowing of her eyes.

“Hello Darling, I thought that you didn’t want to see me?” she called as she reached them, sitting down on the empty chair, opposite Draco and next to Wulf.

“Hi Katya,” Wulf greeted. Draco nodded.

“So why the company?” She was looking at Wulf with a raised eyebrow.

“As you know Draco is the Elementals MC President. We have a situation we would like the feds to help us with.” Katya raised an eyebrow at him with a curious look on her face.

“But first what Intel have you got for us?” asked Wulf, wanting to get this meeting over and done with.

She gave him one of her sensuous smiles. “What’s the hurry Darling?” She placed her hand on top of his that was next to his glass on the table.

He tensed but he didn’t remove his hand, saying, “We need to get back.”

“Oh! I’m sure that you can make an exception for the Intel I have for you. After all I found Vercin.” The men were looking at her, each with different expressions, at her comment. Draco excited, Wulf with anger.

“Don’t play games Katya, just come out and tell us what you know.” He growled starting to lose his patience.

“Well look who’s grumpy today. Haven’t you got laid in a while? We could remedy that!” she said, winking at him. Draco choked on his drink at her comment and looked at Wulf with a knowing grin.

“Oh, I’m quite sure that’s not his problem!” Draco muttered, under his breath, only loud enough for Wulf to hear. Wulf glared back at him. Turning he glared at her, making sure that she understood he wasn’t messing around.

“Oh okay, be like that! We were following a lead on some missing women. This brought us to an international scientific experimental company that had contact with these women, at one time or another. We were able to hack into one of their lab’s computers.” Pulling out a large envelope that was tucked in the back of her Jeans, she handed it to Draco.

“There are a few photos of the women. Three have disappeared, and you will see that there are another five that haven’t been reported missing. We are still looking at who they are and how they are connected. There are also photos of two much younger girls. I would say they’re about eight and they look like twins.” Draco had opened the envelope and was flickering through the photos, while Katya talked. Wulf had pulled his hand out from under hers, in the pretence of drinking his beer.

“There is a photo of a mansion that we were staking out. One of the women was reported to have been seen arriving at this mansion but never leaving. If you look at the balcony there, who do you see?” Draco was staring at the photo she was talking about. He handed it to Wulf. Katya stood up to stand behind Wulf leaning down with her face next to his as she pointed at the man on the balcony. He tensed as her perfume surrounded him. He wanted to get up and move as far away from her as possible, but he stood his ground. The thought of an
other woman touching him made his stomach heave.

“That’s him,” Draco confirmed, looking down to continue analysing the other photos.

“This is all the data that we have on this case, and the location of the mansion.” Katya was saying when Draco looked up from a photo, stunned.

“What?” Wulf asked. Draco handed him the photo of a woman, the photo had been taken from outside a studio. That women was Jas.

“What the Fuck?” looking down at the photo of an unsuspecting Jas. His fury rose at the thought of his woman being in danger.

“What do they want with all these women?” he asked Katya. If they had been following Jas they might know where she is. He looked at the date on the photo, it was the day before Wulf met her.

“Look at the date that the photo was taken,” Wulf said, displaying the date on the right bottom hand side of the photo to Draco.

“Do you know this woman?” Katya asked suspiciously, seeing how agitated Wulf seemed.

Looking at her he didn’t answer. He pulled out his cell phone and dialled the compound, needing to make sure that everything was fine there.

“I think that this is for you,” Bjarni said handing Jas his phone. They had given up playing long ago as she just couldn’t concentrate. Her mind kept on straying to what Wulf might be doing. He had been trying to distract her with stories of all the brothers throughout the years.

“Hey!” At Jas’s voice, Wulf relaxed.

“Hey. How are you holding up?” he asked, with such warmth in his voice that Katya was instantly suspicious.

“Missing you. Are you on your way yet?” she just wanted to have him close and not worry about what was happening.

“Soon, I promise. Let me speak to Bjarni.”

  “Okay, hold on.”

  “What’s up?”

“Lock down until we get there. Let the others know!” Wulf requested, knowing that Bjarni and all his brothers at the compound would protect Jas with their lives.

“What’s going on?” Bjarni asked alert, knowing that there must be danger on the horizon.

“We will update everyone when we get back.” He wanted to get this meeting over and done with, so they could get back as soon as possible.

“Okay, consider it done.” As they ended their communication Bjarni was already on his way to the computer room to get lockdown initiated.

“Okay, let’s get this over with. We need to get going.” Katya was looking at him suspiciously.

“Celmund will send you all the Intel necessary for this building we’re staking out. We need your guys to make sure that all the women and the children don’t make it to the building. We need this to be done on Wednesday.” Draco was briefing Katya on what was needed from the Feds. Wulf was distracted, thinking of all the possibilities; now with this photo of Jas out there. If the Keres were after her, this had become very personal for him. There was no way he was going to let anything happen to her, not while he still had breath in his body.

“Wulf? You are not listening. What’s up with you?” Katya had been speaking about their mission on Wednesday, when she had asked Wulf if they should get the two teams together to arrange an action plan. He hadn’t even looked at her.

“Sorry I was distracted.” He tried to pay attention, seeing that she was looking annoyed. The rest of the meeting continued with no more glitches, until it was time to leave.

“Katya, I won’t be the one to meet with you anymore. Draco will come if there is anything else,” he said, getting up to leave.

  “Why is that?”

“I’m married, so this isn’t right because of what we had.” He said gently trying not to hurt her feelings, even though their relationship had been a mutual sexual relationship with no feelings involved.

“It’s okay Wulf. I won’t tell if you don’t.” Moving towards him she placed her arms around his neck, bringing her face up to him. Tensing, he grabbed her arms and pulled her away from him.

“No, this is not happening ever again.” She looked at him for a few seconds, seeing the indifference for her in his eyes. If he thought this was the end of it he had a surprise coming.

“We will see about that!” she said. Turning, she then left.

  Chapter 18

For the next few days until the attack on the building, they maintained the compound on lockdown. Celmund was checking all databases looking for a match on the photos of the women they had received. They had to find out what the link was with these women. Why Vercin was interested in them? Wulf had been driving everyone ceaselessly. He wanted to know what he was facing, he did not like the idea of his woman being in danger.

The day before the attack was scheduled, Jas went looking for Wulf as she remembered something from, when she had been living at her last adoptive home. As she walked into the training facility she found Ceric walking out, holding his side.

“Good, you are here. Maybe you can sweeten him up before we are all disabled for tomorrow.”

Looking towards where Wulf was boxing with Bjarni in the ring Jas decided to approach Draco and Caelius who were on the other side of the facility, cleaning their weapons. Every now and again they would look up at the fight and comment.

  “Hey Beautiful!” Caelius called.

Jas felt Wulf looking at her. “Humph,” he grunted. Looking towards the fighters she saw Wulf was getting up off the floor. Turning, he slammed into Bjarni and they both went down. She didn’t like to see Wulf getting hurt, so she looked away, concentrating on Draco.

“Draco, I have remembered something that might help with the connection of the women.”

Wulf had asked her repeatedly since he had received the Intel if she knew any of the women. If she knew the scientific organization? If she had ever been to that mansion? She could see he was frustrated in not having answers, but this might help. Draco and Caelius were now looking at her curiously. She had a feeling that Wulf and Bjarni had also stopped training and were listening-in.

“Just before I ran away from my last adoptive home, Fred took me to this clinic to have medical tests done. He used to get angry when I had a vision calling me evil, locking me away; even slapping me a few times to get me out of the trances.” She heard Wulf growl behind her.

“Anyway, the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with me, he even had a priest come pray for me. Then there was this one man he took me to. He said he could help me. I remember Fred was excited because he thought he had found a way of managing my trances. I was supposed to have gone with him the following week, but I ran away before then.” She stopped looking at Draco with anticipation but he was sitting with a pensive look on his face. “Well I was thinking that seeing that the Keres like energy, maybe these women are like me and they have a way of finding us.”

Draco was nodding. Wulf came from behind, putting his arms around her waist pulling her towards him. “I think that you might have a point.” Draco confirmed.

“Let’s get Celmund to have a look at various Clinics. Maybe the women who were coming in were unique cases.” Draco was already getting up to make his way to the computer room.

“Well done Angel. Maybe now we can get to the bottom of why your photo was on their system,” Wulf whispered against her ear, as he nuzzled her neck.

“Yeah and you can stop taking your frustration out on us. Maybe you can nuzzle my neck too now?” Bjarni teased, winking at Jas.

“I could punch you again,” said Wulf.

Bjarni laughed, walking towards the entrance. Leaning her head back against Wulf she closed her eyes in pleasure. Pulling her even closer to him she could feel his hardness pressing against her lower back.

“Okay … Okay guys, not cool, how about you go to your room,” Caelius grumbled good naturedly. Jas had forgotten that Caelius was still there. Her head came up as she blushed in embarrassment

“Oh!” turning, she ran out of the training facility. Wulf glared at Caelius for his teasing, but he also turned and followed. Catching up to her in the courtyard
he held her hand, to bring her to a stop.

  “What’s the hurry Angel?”

“I completely forgot where I was and that we had company. I’m so embarrassed. Caelius must think that I’m a real hussy.”

“There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. You are my woman and we weren’t doing anything wrong.” He steered her towards their room wanting to spend the rest of the day with her.

They needed to bond again. It had been awhile since they had exchanged blood. He should speak to Bion, they should keep some of his blood in the facility, in case she ever needed it and he wasn’t around. He knew the other brothers were going to drink tonight. It would strengthen them for tomorrow. They had a supply that they got from a source at a blood bank. The Elementals never took blood directly from a human unless it was their woman. Wulf only took from his mate now. The others would never be able to nourish or strengthen him again. The same went for Jas; she was only able to take the blood he provided for her every month. His blood would keep her healthy. It would take a while for her to completely release all her human blood. He needed her to give up her blood and only carry his stronger one. Only then would she be stronger, for now she could still get sick with the common flu or other human diseases. They wouldn’t attack her system as they would any other human as his blood would instantly fight any bacteria.

At their room Wulf made sure she forgot her shyness. Tonight, he was going to make love to his woman, she grounded him, strengthened him. Since mating, his senses were sharper, his strength was doubled. She was as much his salvation as she was his downfall, and he was hers.

  Chapter 19

The men were all in the garage getting ready to leave. Only Celmund was staying behind so he could guide them. Wulf had asked her to keep out of the computer room today, he didn’t want her to have to see or listen to the fighting that would be going on. Celmund would be keeping a close eye on everyone, after much pleading she had agreed to keep away.
