Double Crossed ((A Cobras MC Novella)) Page 3

by Colbie Kay

Running my hands over his covered chest and around his neck, I clasp my hands together. “ What is your real name?” I realize my feelings for Snake are growing more and more every second I’m around him, but I have yet to learn his name.

“Michael Thomas.” Our mouths collide as he walks me towards the bed.

My knees buckle when I hit the edge, causing me to fall back onto the covered mattress. Snake’s hand runs over the top of my head and he gently pulls out my hair tie so my dark hair falls down my back. “I like you a lot, Victoria. I need you to accept my lifestyle, even if you may not agree with some of the shit we do.”

“It was just a little overwhelming, is all. I won’t judge you based on what others do, because I like you too, Snake.”

“That’s good to hear ‘cause I couldn’t give you up even if I had to. Scoot up the bed.” I obey his order, and there are those pesky butterflies again. I can’t believe that this sexy man feels this way about me. Plain, average me.

My eyes stay glued to Snake as he crawls up the bed and over my body. “You’re so beautiful.” His lips crash against mine. My nails scrape along his black vest until they’re fisted in his dark hair. Our mouths move in sync with one another as our tongues explore. Snake’s hand skates across my leg, pushing up the knee-length dress I’m wearing. His mouth breaks from mine, moving over to my neck and peppering kisses along the trail of his lips. Pulling me up, he finds the zipper in the back of my dress and starts to undo it, exposing my body. Pushing it down, his eyes never leave mine until the dress is bunched around my hips.

Gripping Snake’s arms, I try to control my shaking limbs. Nervousness resides inside of me and no matter how many deep breaths I take, it’s not helping. Snake’s lips leave my neck as he devours me with his eyes, but suddenly his expression shifts. His brows pull down tightly. “Have you done this before?”

Dropping my chin to my chest, I bite down on my bottom lip to keep it from trembling and shake my head. I don’t want him to think I’m just some scared little girl. His finger puts pressure on the bottom of my chin, lifting my head so that I have to look him in the eye. “Hey, it’s okay. I’m not gonna make you do anything you don’t wanna do. Got it?”

“Yes.” That one word is so hushed as it slips out, I’m not even sure Snake heard me until his lips tilt up in a smile.

“Are you okay with your dress being undone?” His eyes never leave mine, and it makes me feel vulnerable.

Giving half a grin, I reply, “Yes.”

“Good. Now, can you lie back down so I can explore your gorgeous body?” He doesn’t give me time to answer before he has his arm around my waist and I’m being pushed back down. I can’t stop the giggles from escaping me. “I love your laugh,” Snake says as he pulls off his black vest and the black t-shirt he was wearing. My breath hitches as I take in the sight of his naked chest and abs. More tattoos are exposed, making him more dark and dangerous looking, but oh so sexy at the same time. Everywhere is toned; arms, chest, abdomen! You can definitely tell he works out and takes care of himself. “Like what’cha see?”

Suddenly my mouth is so dry I can’t respond; I just give a nod, causing Snake to laugh.

His muscular body looms above me; I reach out, tracing his perfectly chiseled torso. Snake drops his head, peppering kisses in the valley of my breasts. A small gasp releases as he moves over, gently biting down on one of my nipples, causing it to harden under the silky material of my bra. He repeats his actions on the other side, and my body is responding in a way I have never felt before. Goosebumps cover my heated flesh, my legs tremble in anticipation, and the junction between my thighs is throbbing with an unknown need—not to mention my panties are suddenly wet.

Snake’s tongue glides down my belly, then skims across where my dress is bunched right above my silk panties.

“Snake!” I beg and plead as my back arches. My hand finds his hair, and I tightly close my eyes, succumbing to the intense feelings I’m experiencing.

“I got you,” Snake states against my lower abdomen, his tongue gliding across my belly before he blows lightly, making me shiver and mewl for more. His hand goes underneath my dress and his fingers push my panties to the side. One of his digits glides through my slick folds before entering me.

I release a cry of pain and pleasure at the invasion, but I don’t stop him.

“I can’t wait to taste you! I can smell your arousal, and it’s going to be the sweetest dessert I’ve ever had the chance to experience.” If I wasn’t so turned on right now, his dirty words would have me blushing in embarrassment.

Snake pushes his finger in and out slowly until the pain subsides. When my moans and cries are only for the pleasure he is inducing, Snake adds another finger. His actions continue until he brings me to a heavenly explosion and I become so exhausted I can’t move. I end up falling asleep soon after, with Snake running his fingers through my hair and his arms wrapped tightly around me as he whispers sweet nothings in my ear.

Putting down the book I was reading, I focus my attention on my closed door that someone is knocking on. “Come in,” I yell out. To my surprise, Emily opens the door. Sitting up further in my bed, I cross my legs and let her have a seat. “What are you doing here?” I ask, not expecting her to be in town tonight.

“Wyatt had some business to discuss with Daddy.” She almost looks nervous, which is unlike her. Normally my sister is composed and postured, everything we have been taught. “I wanted to talk to you.” Her eyes travel around my room and she adds, “It’s been so long since I’ve been in here.”

Looking down at my comforter, I fidget with a piece of string. “Yeah.” Emily and I used to be closer than we are now. In the last few years—since she moved out, went off to college, and we both got older—we’ve grown apart.

“Can I lay with you like we used to?” My eyes snap to hers and my brows pull down. Something is going on with her.

Scooting down, I lie on my side and wait for her to join me. When she does, I see the sadness in her eyes.

“What is going on?” I question, worried for Emily.

“Just wedding stuff. It’s stressful. I’m sorry you have to wear that horrible dress.” Her shoulder nudges mine and we both smile; her grey eyes search mine. “I know you’ve been lying about where you’ve been going these last few months.”

A lump forms in my throat, and I have to swallow hard to try and expel it. “I don’t know what you mean,” I say, trying to lie once more.

Her brow cocks up at my lie. “Wyatt and I were in town one day and we drove by the school. I saw that biker pick you up and you rode off with him.”

“Are you going to tell on me?” Anxiety and worry etch deep in my belly—worry that I will be found out and all this with Snake will be over.

Emily shakes her head against the pillow. “No; you have always been smart, Victoria, smarter than I could ever be. I don’t think you would ride off with him if he was going to hurt you. And don’t worry—Wyatt didn’t see you, and I didn’t tell him. It’ll be our secret unless I feel the need to say something. Does he make you happy?” Emily looks genuinely curious, and maybe a little envious.

My smile is wide as I nod. “I love him.”

My sister’s smile grows so it matches mine. “I know we aren’t close like we used to be, but I want you to know that, no matter what, you’re my sister and I love you. I know Mom is hard on you for no reason a lot of the time, so I’m here if you ever need anything. I want you to be happy—don’t settle.”

“Is that what you’re doing? Settling?” Tears blur my vision because it has been so long since we’ve talked like this, and her words touch deep down in my heart. I want my sister happy too.

“Turn over.” I do as she requested and as I face the wall, her fingers run through the back of my hair. “Someone has to take over for Daddy when he reti
res. I always knew you would go your own way, so it was up to me to make that happen. Don’t get me wrong—I love Wyatt, but it is simple with him. Sometimes I want adventures, spontaneity, and the fireworks.” I understand what she’s saying, and it hurts me for her. If she marries Wyatt, her whole life is already planned out and boring.

“Michael—that’s his name. I have all of that and more, Emily.” My excitement takes over in the rise of my voice and I continue, “I know I’m young and I know he’s the first guy I have ever taken an interest in, but I can’t see me with anyone else.”

“Then that’s all I want for you. Maybe you can introduce us sometime.” We both yawn and my eyes start to get heavy. I remember Emily would always put me to sleep just like this: lying next to me and running her fingers through my hair.

“Maybe,” I mumble as I drift off to sleep.

  Chapter Four

I watch the stage as Marie walks across to our principal to get her diploma. I clap along with the audience, waiting for my turn. The day is here—we are finally graduating from high school and moving on to bigger and better things. Heading to the real world.

I’m excited to see what’s in store for me.

I always wanted to go away to college, but these last few months with Snake have me reconsidering. I got my acceptance letter from the local university; I can attend in the fall and move into the dorms. It seems like everything is falling into place for me, and I have never been happier.

I haven’t told Snake yet, but I had plans for us tonight. Since that night in his room we’ve taken our relationship further in the sexual department, but have yet to actually go all the way. I’m thinking tonight would be the perfect time, and I’m ready. I love Snake and believe wholeheartedly that he’s the one.

I’ve confided in Marie about my relationship with Snake, but she just rolls her eyes and says I’m acting like a silly, lovesick girl. If I want to keep a man like Snake interested, then I need to give him something to keep coming back for. I don’t agree with her outlook on it because he’s kept coming back without having sex, but her words cast doubt even though I tried to fight it. How long will he hold out before he does get bored? Even though I don’t doubt Snake’s loyalty to me, I can’t help but have my doubts sometimes, especially after talking to Marie and seeing those women at the club; the things they do and how they act. How long will it be before he’s turning to them for what I’m not willing to give?

Marie is different than I am, though; she lost her virginity a few years ago and since then, it’s like she seeks attention from any male in her vicinity. I knew she was like that based on all of her stories every Monday morning, but I’ve started witnessing it with my own two eyes since we started hanging out at the clubhouse, as Snake calls it. It makes me feel sorry for her at times.

  “Victoria Diane Reynolds.”

My name being called pulls me from my thoughts. Walking up the steps, across the stage, and taking my diploma from the principal is a great feeling. Hearing all the people clap and my sister yelling makes me smile. But looking towards the entrance and seeing Snake leaning against the door with his gorgeous smile, looking sexy as always in his usual attire, fills my soul and confirms what I already knew: I love him. His proud smile lights up his face, but then he is gone in the next instant. I have no worries; I know when and where we’ll be meeting up later.

All of the graduates line up in the cafeteria for family and friends to congratulate us. “We are having a dinner for you and then you can go with Marie,” Mom informs me. No congratulations, no I’m proud of you, no hug, nothing. I guess I shouldn’t have expected anything more from her.

“Okay,” I reply, holding back from what I would really like to say.

My father grabs me in a tight hug. “Congratulations, sweetheart. Your graduation present is at home waiting for you.” He holds my cheeks in the palms of his hands. “I’m so proud of you.” Tears well up in my father’s eyes and I’m close to tears myself.

“Thank you, Daddy.” Smiling brightly, I’m grabbed in a hug by my sister next, and then her soon-to-be husband, Wyatt. All telling me the words my own mother couldn’t. When everyone starts to leave school, I find my family, and we all head home for my dinner. As soon as we pull up to our driveway, I see a brand-new white Volkswagen.

“Surprise!” my dad says excitedly from the driver’s seat.

“Is that mine?” I ask, shocked. I was not expecting a car for a present.

“Yes. All yours. I figured you would need a way to get around when you go off to college, so here you go.” He pulls out a set of keys from his pocket and hands them over to me where I sit in the backseat.

“Thank you so much, Daddy! I love it!”

“You deserve it.” His stare meets mine in the rearview mirror and we both know he is talking about dealing with my mother.

Opening the door of my father’s Cadillac, I run over to check out my new car before going inside for our family dinner.

“Now that you’ve graduated, have you decided on where you will be attending college?” Daddy’s elbows sit on the white cloth-covered formal dining table, his fingers laced together, with his chin resting on top of them.

Looking around the table, my eyes set on my father. “I want to stay local, and I already have my acceptance letter. I’ll attend in the fall and move into the dorms.”

My father covers his mouth as he coughs and looks outright shocked, but his reaction isn’t surprising, considering I’ve always wanted to attend a big name university. “I thought you wanted to go away? What brought this on?” Smiling, he jokes, “Well, it won’t be so bad on the checkbook.” We all laugh, except Mom.

“So, you would rather stay here and earn a piss-poor education rather than leave to obtain better? Why?” Mom spews her hatred of anything different than her plan, as always.

Hanging my head, I place the napkin lying across my thighs on the table. “I’m done! May I be excused?” My heated glare travels across everyone at the table. Emily looks sad, but she isn’t going to stand up and defend me against our mother. I can’t really blame her. She’s going to support me in her own way, at least.

“No, you may not! Explain yourself!” Mom demands.

Burning my mother with narrowed eyes, I question, “Why? Why do I need to explain? Shouldn’t it be my choice where I spend the next four years?”

“Not when you have a family name and an outstanding reputation to uphold. And our money that is paying for that education,” she throws back.

“Is that all you care about? The family name, the reputation? Do I not matter at all?” I don’t even want to go there in regards to the money—it’s my father’s money, not hers.

“Of course, you matter,” Daddy cuts in and adds, “Take your plate in the kitchen, and go to Marie’s.” His hard eyes never once leave my mother’s.

“Thank you, Daddy,” I quietly tell him, before getting up and taking my used dishes and silverware to the kitchen.

Our bodies are wrapped up in one another, skin against skin, and Snake’s hand runs along my spine. My head is on his chest, and I feel complete. Touching my lips to his bare chest, I look up into his eyes, my chin resting on his stomach. “I’m going to stay local for college.”

His brows furrow. “What? Why? I thought you wanted out of here?”

“I do...I mean, I did… Until you came into my life. You give me reason to stay. I love you, Snake.” It might be cliché to tell him right after he took my virginity, but I couldn’t go without telling him—it just seems like the right time.

“Vixen...” He uses the nickname he started calling me. It’s kind of funny to me that he would use a word like vixen to describe me when I’ve always been the ‘good girl.’ But with Snake…he brings out a bad side of me, a bad side in a good way.

“You don’t have to say it bac
k or anything. I don’t expect you to, I just...” I’m cut off by being pulled up Snake’s body as his lips slam on mine.

He kisses me hard and intensely, then pulls back. “I love you too. I don’t want to be the reason you don’t follow your dreams.”

“Dreams change, Snake.” Giving him a bright smile, I lean in and kiss him passionately.

His light touch runs up and down my bare back. “I do know one thing, Vic: No matter if you stay or go, nothing will ever tear us apart. You’re in here now.” Snake taps his chest, over his heart. “Nothing will ever change that.” Our mouths crash together and stay connected as we kiss wildly, until he is sheathed with a condom and slowly sliding deep inside me once again. I’m tender and sore, but it is so worth it.

“Now that you’re eighteen, what do you want to do, birthday girl?”

That’s right—today I’m officially eighteen years old. I spent the day with my family, and now I’m spending the evening with Snake at our pond. He pulled his bike through the path that we’ve carved in the tall grass and weeds. I sit straddling his thighs on the motorcycle as we watch the sunset off in the distance. The orange and red hues make the sky look beautiful.

Our fingers are entwined; he brings our hands up to his lips, kissing each one before I answer. “I can think of a few things.” I give him a sexy smile—at least, I hope it looks sexy and not me giving him some weird facial gesture.

“You wanna fuck on my bike?” he questions with a cocked brow. I guess he caught on.

“Why not? No one comes out here, so we won’t get caught, and it’s my birthday—I’m supposed to get everything I want.” I bat my eyes innocently, making Snake laugh.

“Knew I called you vixen for a reason.” He leans in close to my neck, and I feel his hot breath against my ear. “Whatever my girl’s heart desires, she will get.” His tongue runs along the shell of my ear and down the side of my neck, causing a shiver to run through my body and wetness to pool between my thighs.
