“You can go home and think about it, it is entirely your own choice I will not try to coerce you in any way…other than the huge salary and position of global influence.” he smiled, “ Be aware, I am looking to influence the world in a positive direction so you must be on board with that...that’s my only requirement really.”

“I’d be honoured.” and she jumped up excitedly and grabbed his hand to shake it before abandoning the idea and giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Quickly she recovered her composure at the sight of Marcy staring at her.

“Well, let’s say that’s agreed then,” Seth said. “Can I ask you keep this all hush, hush? I will explain in the coming days and weeks but for now, people need to see things haven’t really changed. Corey will now be the Chairman, in name only, to keep up appearances.”

Sarah nodded, there was no way she was going to jeopardise this opportunity. So far Seth seemed lovely and she didn’t really like the idea of crossing him, given what he had done to Corey.

“Excellent, well I think you may want to go chose something to wear, I saw in your mind that the dresses he’s compelled you to put on are not really your idea of office attire.”

Sarah became suddenly aware of the figure-hugging dress she had on and blushed.

“Thank you, Mr Goodman,” she stuttered as she turned and quick-stepped out of the room.

Once she had left Seth explained everything to his Wife and daughter, he left out parts about Gods and his connection to them but everything else he told them about.

Val arrived and was shown up by Billy Smith who Seth noted wasn’t under any kind of mind control and as he left he made a mental note to check the entire staff to ensure there was no escape for Corey through one of them.

Corey stood impassively as Seth explained what he needed from Val.

“So, if I understand correctly, you need me to guide this company into a more transparent future where its investments and interest are known and change its focus from political manipulation to a more holistic business model?”

“Spot on, I knew you were the right one for the job.” he gave her a look of fatherly pride and stood up.

Val laughed, “I haven't said I would do it yet, you prick!” she walked around the table and sat back down next to Seth, “I haven't even heard of this company, why would I abandon everything I have built to steer a sinking ship?”

“A Good question Val, I am glad you asked” Seth couldn't keep the humour from his voice, “this company is so under the radar it doesn't exist and yet it controls all the global markets and investments, including all the banking institutions…internationally. Your own company is in debt to this one by…” he looked to Corey, “how much do Garrett and Hurst owe you, Corey?”

“Two hundred and forty-seven million pounds, plus we hold the deeds to the building where they have their current offices,” he said without turning his head.

Seth shrugged his shoulders, “that’s a lot of money and they could demolish your building…sound like a company you'd like to steer yet?”

Val’s face erupted into a massive grin and she punched Seth in the arm, “You had me at political manipulation, when do we start?”

“I think I am going to enjoy the next twenty or so years,” Seth said getting to his feet, “but first I am supposed to be sightseeing with my family and we have a suite at the Dorchester we haven’t slept in yet. So, if you will excuse us, we have shopping to do.”

Hope clapped her hands and jumped to her feet and began tugging at her mother’s arm for her to hurry.

“What about him,” Marcy asked looking at Corey.

“Corey, you will now do whatever Val here asks of you within the constraints I have supplied you with,” Seth instructed. “Any disagreements can be brought to me as owner and sole shareholder of the company is that understood?”

“Yes sir, crystal clear. I am looking forward to our business relationship, Val.” He smiled a genuinely warm grin and Seth opened the door and left to complete his holiday.
