FLASH (Forsaken Riders MC Romance Book 15) Page 9

by Samantha Leal

  “You have?” Kady asked.

“Yeah, some dumb Russians saying they’re going to target me on account of me being with a Forsaken Rider when I’m the sister of an Iron Rider, blah, blah, blah…”

“Aren’t you afraid?” Kady was confused, because Ashley certainly didn’t sound it.

“Well, I mean, it’s not exactly, great is it,” Ashley half laughed. “But I have Breaker, there’s no way he’d let anything happen to me.”

Kady smiled and nodded. She just hoped Ashley was right.

“I’m scared, Ashley,” Kady admitted. “I ran away from Flash, I ended our date and I don’t know what to do.”

“What’s going on?” Ashley said sternly. “You haven’t been the same since I came to the salon the other day. I can tell there’s something you’re keeping from me.”

“There is,” Kady admitted. “But if I tell you, you can’t tell a soul. Especially not Breaker, not yet… I need some time.”

“Oh my God…” Ashley gasped. “You are, aren’t you?”

Even though Ashley couldn’t see her, Kady nodded her head instead of replying.

  “Kady?” Ashley barked.

“Yes,” she said through trembling lips. “I am. I’m pregnant.”

  “Holy fucking shit,” Ashley exhaled.

“Exactly,” Kady rubbed her forehead. “And then Flash starts telling me all about these fucking Russians and how I may be in danger if they know we’re dating. And like, he doesn’t even know I’m carrying his baby! What the hell am I supposed to do, just come out and tell him after all of that? What if I tell him and someone finds out and then, suddenly, I’m in even more danger. I honestly don’t know what to do.”

“Kady,” Ashley said seriously and with conviction. “You have to tell him. You can’t keep something like this from him.”

Her words were spoken softly, but Kady knew she was right.

“He would never, ever let anything bad happen to you,” Ashley continued. “He’s a man of honor. You’re carrying his baby… There’s no way he would see any wrong done by you or see you in harm’s way.”

“I’m so scared,” Kady cried. “I’m scared to tell him and I’m scared about the future.”

“You need to call him,” Ashley concluded. “Right now. He’s been tearing himself up wondering how he managed to blow it with you so badly. He’s gutted, Kady. All he wants is to speak with you. He’s been calling Breaker all night.”

Kady got to her feet and walked over to her window. She looked out over her neighborhood and to where her and Flash had walked arm in arm down her street. He had been caring to her, and loyal since he had come back to town. Maybe she should just be a woman and tell him the truth.

After all, none of this was just going to go away.

She nodded her head and exhaled.

“Okay,” she said. “I’m going to call him now and ask him to come over. But please, not a word, okay? Not to Breaker, not to anyone? I just need some time to process this and I don’t know how happy he’ll be. He may not want anything to do with me afterward.”

“I sincerely doubt that,” Ashley said. “But don’t worry, I won’t say a word. Now go and call him.”

Ashley hung up before Kady had a chance to say anything else and she looked down at the phone and quickly swiped to the next number along.

  Flash.

  She hit dial…

“Kady?” he answered on the second ring and she could hear in the background that he was leaving somewhere rowdy and going to a place that was more private.

“Are you okay?” he asked as she heard a door swing closed behind him. She could just imagine him sitting on the front steps of The Bleeding Bullet, a cigarette clutched between his fingers and his hair falling down perfectly around his eyes.

“Flash,” she said. “I need to speak to you. Face to face. Right now.”

“I’m on my way,” he said.

And then the line went dead.

  10.

She pulled on her black silk robe and tied it around her waist. She was completely bare, no make-up, her hair was still wet and trailing down her back, and all she had on underneath the robe was her underwear. There was no time to get ready. Flash was on his way. And knowing the way he rode that bike, he would literally be there within seconds.

She looked in the mirror as she stood by the door downstairs and looked at her fresh face. She had never looked more vulnerable, but that seemed quite poetic because that was exactly how she was feeling.

When she heard the bike come roaring onto her street, she gathered her nerves and prepared herself. There was no backing out this time. This was it. It was now or never.

Flash’s frantic knocks came only seconds later and when she reached for the handle and pulled the door open, she could see the anguish written all over his face.

“Kady,” he said. “I’m so, so sorry.”

She held up her hand and beckoned him in as she shook her head.

“You don’t need to apologize,” she said. “Really, you don’t. It’s me who owes you an explanation.”

She walked away from him and went around to the couch. She sat down and he followed her, sitting next to her.

She felt so completely exposed. She was sitting there in her skimpy robe, her bare face and her wet hair. And there was he all leather and chains, silver rings and stubble. He looked so much a man, and she felt like such an innocent. However, she was about to change it all.

“I need a moment to speak,” she said as he took hold of her hand and held it tightly. “I have no idea how you are going to take this. So please, just let me finish.”

Flash raised his eyebrow with intrigue and nodded for her to continue.

“Six weeks ago, we were right here,” she said as she looked around her front room and motioned toward the stairs. “I had the night of my life in so many ways.”

  Flash smiled and nodded, knowingly.

“And the past week with us, with us dating and talking, getting to know each other on a much deeper level, it’s just been amazing.”

He sat back a little, as if he was expecting her to give him the brush off.

“A couple of days ago, I found something out and I haven’t known what to do for the best ever since,” she said. “Flash, I don’t want to keep you in the dark, but at the same time, I know things are tough with you at the moment and I’m worried that this will make things worse. For both of us, considering the circumstances.”

His eyes were fixed on hers, flicking from one to the other, urging her to continue.

“Flash,” she said before she took a deep breath. “I’m pregnant. I’m pregnant with your baby.”

As soon as she said the words, she clamped her eyes tightly closed and waited for his reaction. The seconds seemed to drag on for hours and her heart was beating so fast she couldn’t hear anything apart from the rush of blood in her ears.

She could feel him squeezing her hand harder and then, suddenly, his arms were around her, pulling her close to him, keeping her safe right there, holding her so close it felt as if he would never let her go.

“Babe,” he whispered as he held her back to look at her. He tilted her face up so their eyes met and he brushed the hair behind her ears and cupped her cheeks in his big, rough hands. “You’re pregnant?”

  Kady nodded slowly.

She couldn’t read his reaction, he looked stunned and not at all sure of what to say. But then, his face broke out into the most amazing smile.

“This is incredible,” he beamed. “It never crossed my mind that it could be something like this. I honestly thought you were going to break it off.”

Kady felt a tear roll down her cheek and Flash brushed it away and pulled her face to his and kissed her so deeply it took her breath away.

“This is amazing,” he whispered as their lips broke apart and he looked into her eyes. “You’re going to have my baby?”

  Kady nodded.

Flash pulled her close to him
and held her tightly.

“I didn’t know how you’d react,” she said. “I want you to know I don’t expect you to be there if you don’t want to be. I can handle this on my own.”

He sat back and scowled at her and shook his head.

“Are you insane?” he said with a half laugh. “This is the best news I think I’ve ever had. I’m going to be a father. Kady, you have no idea how much this means to me. This is the most amazing thing… ever…”

He pulled her to him again and kissed her hard on the lips.

  “But the Russians?” Kady panted.

“Fuck the Russians,” Flash said with a wicked grin. “You’re my woman and you’re carrying my child. They’re not going to get anywhere near you.”

  “I’m afraid,” she admitted.

“Don’t be,” he said as he looked deeply into her eyes. “Now I know why you ran yesterday. I can see why you were so scared. But please, babe, you’ve got to listen to me. Nothing in this world is going to harm you or our child, do you hear me?”

She could tell he was being sincere, and it was the best feeling in the world.

“I want this,” he said as he looked deeply into her eyes. “I never in a million years was expecting this, but I am so ready for it.”

He was so pleased, so happy and so supportive, Kady couldn’t do anything but fall into his arms and sob with relief.

“I’ve been so scared to tell you,” she said. “I really didn’t know what the outcome would be.”

“As if there would ever be another outcome, Kady,” he kissed the top of her head. “I haven’t felt this way about anyone in my whole life. And I know it’s fast, but we’ve known each other a long time, and I know we can make this work. I only see us going from strength to strength.”

Kady looked up at him and kissed him deeply. His lips were so hot and his stubble was so rough, she felt as if she was tiny in his arms and the contrast between the two of them started to rouse her desire.

He was committing to her and their life together.

They had been thrown into this crazy situation, and yet, he was welcoming it with open arms. He really was a real man.

Flash picked her up and cradled her in his arms. He was so big and muscular she felt weightless and as he carried her toward the stairs, she knew she had never wanted anything more in her entire life.

She had dreamed about it every night since they had last been together, and she couldn’t deny herself any longer. She had to have him.

He walked into her room and lay her down on the bed before he sat next to her and she pulled his heavy leather jacket off over his shoulders, exposing his tanned muscles and his exceptional tattoos.

She traced her fingertips over them, committing each bit of ink and curve to memory; this time, she was determined nothing would escape her.

He leaned forward and kissed her before he lowered her back onto the bed and climbed on top of her, slowly and with purpose. He put his weight on her, kissing her hard and running his hands up the sides of her waist, nipping her gently and making her gasp with pleasure.

He was an expert lover. With each touch and kiss, he was taking her back to that night six weeks before, and it was bringing a rush of memories to the surface. She wanted him so badly, it was overpowering her, and she reached for his belt buckle, flipping it open and pulling down his jeans hungrily.

Flash ripped his t-shirt off over his head and tugged at the tie on Kady’s robe. His movements were becoming even more fevered as he pulled it open and exposed her, lying there and looking perfectly simple and sexy in her black underwear.

He smiled down at her and she felt nothing but love for him. They had been friends for such a long time, it seemed crazy that they could now be there together, in each other’s arms, full of want and need.

She opened her legs wide and he ran his fingers up the inside of her thigh, hooking into her panties and slipping them to one side. When his big, thick finger found her opening and he pushed it inside of her, Kady was already dripping wet and she gasped as she threw her head back and bit her lip.

Flash grunted and pulled her to the edge of the bed as he ripped off her underwear and she lay naked beneath him. As he shoved down his jeans and exposed his incredible manhood, Kady gasped again. It was so big…

  So perfect…

  So hard.

He gripped hold of her legs and opened them wide and then he slid in-between them. She didn’t need to guide him to her, he knew where he needed to be and his cock entered her swiftly and with one perfect fluid motion.

As he penetrated her, the wave of pleasure was intense and hot. She moaned as he thrust in and out of her, opening her in ways she never knew were possible. Their bodies fit together so well, it was as if they had been sculpted to match, and with each stroke, Kady felt them becoming even more joined.

They had something special. It was undeniable.

Flash looked deep into her eyes as he grunted and kissed her deeply on the lips. He was so far inside of her, he was so well fit, it was making her writhe with pleasure. She could barely hold on, she dug her nails into the skin on his back and wrapped her legs around him, urging him even deeper, although she was sure there was no more room for her to take him.

When she started to unravel, she panted and screamed with ecstasy, and this only seemed to turn him on even more. He grunted and pinned her down harder to the bed, pushing his cock deep and sending her into her orgasm with a deafening wail.

He tensed his thighs and began to shudder and explode as his cum shot right up inside of her. He groaned and hissed “Fuck!” as he emptied his load and collapsed onto her chest.

Kady was red hot and could barely breathe. She had never in all her life felt anything like she had with him. He was the other half of her, the bit she had been missing, and having him inside her again was like finally being complete.

Flash kissed her forehead and swept her into his arms as he lay beside her and held her tight.

“Kady,” he whispered. “That was amazing.”

“It was,” she agreed with a warm smile on her face. “I’ve been thinking of that ever since the last time you were here.”

He smiled and kissed her again.

“I can’t believe it was six weeks ago,” he looked deep into her eyes as they held each other. They were both lying on their sides and taking each other in. Learning more about each other every second.

  “Me neither,” she said.

Flash looked at her thoughtfully and cupped her cheek with his hand.

“I don’t want you to ever doubt me,” he said sincerely. “We’re in this together, you and me. I’m here for you, I’m your man, Kady… I’ll never let any bad come to you or our baby, and I’ll protect you until the day I die. Do you understand?”

Kady’s heart was full of so much love she actually feared it would burst.

“I do,” she smiled. “I really do.”

“This happening to us, it may not have been what we’d planned, but it is what is written in the stars for us, and it is meant to be,” he assured her. “I feel it in my bones. You and I are supposed to be together. I’ve known it ever since that night in The Bleeding Bullet. The moment you told me how you felt and I saw that look in your eye, I knew I had been fighting the same thing all this time. I wanted to make a move, I really did, but I’m a guarded guy. And I would never get involved with a woman unless I was certain she was the one for me. I don’t dick around and I don’t play with people’s hearts. I’m all or nothing.”

“I can’t believe you’re saying this,” she beamed. “I am exactly the same.”

“See,” he kissed her and then looked deeply into her eyes again. “We are the same. We are meant to be here together and we are meant to go forward. This is us now, Kady, me and you and this….” He reached down and touched her stomach. There was nothing there yet to see, but he pressed his hand there and smiled affectionately.

“The three of us,” he whispered.

“A family…” Kady said, almost not being able to believe the words.

“A family,” he nodded in agreement.

Kady had spent her whole life alone in the world, and she had never thought it would be possible for her to find happiness and a family of her own. After her mother had passed away, she had been so determined to look after herself it was as if all thoughts and hopes of love had died with her. And Kady had managed to keep her urges buried. She had never dared admit her true wants and dreams.

There had been so many nights when she had lay awake in bed and had been so thankful for all the good she had in her life, she didn’t dare acknowledge the big gaping hole that had been left by not having a family unit. It hadn’t just been about a man, it had been about having a tribe around her, something she could call her own.

Flash being so supportive, committing himself to her and promising to take care of her always was the first step in her finally getting hold of the thing that had managed to evade her grasp for so many years. She knew, in that moment, why she had avoided dates and men, it was because she had never wanted to try until she had found the one.

  And now she had.

  Flash was her one.

  Her only one.

And now, he and she were going to embark on a new journey together. The most exciting there was. They were going to become parents, and their lives were absolutely going to be transformed, but in the best way possible.

They were going to be a family of their own.

A Forsaken Riders baby was on the way. Kady was going to be its mother and Flash its father.

She looked up into his eyes again and couldn’t believe how lucky she was. She had absolutely everything in the world she ever could have dreamed of and more. She had her perfect little house, her thriving business and now, she had a man by her side that would love and look after her always.

The baby in her belly was the icing on the cake. The absolute pinnacle of everything.

This baby was going to be loved and adored by so many, and Kady knew it truly was fate.

“It’s us against the world, babe,” Flash said as he held her tight. “This is our new beginning, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
