Sterling’s will required his assets be put in trust for his daughter’s education. Addy’s murderous rampage had been for zilch. She would have received nothing.

Kal kept his promise. Our first in-shop customer, he bought a large jar of cold cream for his mother.

All our goblins had been put to rest. Lizzy and I looked forward to the future with confident uncertainty.

  The End of Book 1

  Luscious Lip Gloss

All natural ingredients! Fun and easy!

This luscious lip gloss is from Nonna’s collection of recipes. Once you get the hang of making your own beautifiers you’ll be having as much fun as Olive & Lizzy!

This recipe will yield four tubes or small glass pots and will take you only 30 minutes to prepare You can customize your lip gloss to any shade you wish!

Use organic, extra virgin ingredients where possible.

Grapeseed Oil (or Olive Oil) — 1 tablespoon

Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter — 1½ teaspoons (cocoa butter = chocolate flavor)

Coconut Oil (unrefined) — 1½ teaspoons

Vitamin E Pills — 1 capsule. Use the Vitamin E derived from natural sources. (D-alpha-tocopherol Vitamin E.)

Beeswax (cosmetic grade) — 1 teaspoon

Optional — Essential Oil (food grade) in your favorite choice of flavors

Optional — Mica Powder for coloring

The essential oils and lip safe micas and pigments are available online. The tiny glass pots (for packaging) are available at most craft stores. Neither Olive or Lizzy have the dexterity to form the tube shapes. If you try tubes please let them know how you make out.

Add grapeseed oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax to a glass measuring cup. Use a cup that allows for easy pouring or a large eyedropper to put the finished gloss in the tiny pots.

Place the measuring cup in a stovetop pot containing about 2-3” of water. You are creating a double boiler to melt the oil, butter, and beeswax.

Turn the heat to medium and as the water heats it will melt the mixture.

Pierce the vitamin E capsule and squeeze only the syrup into the pot, not the capsule shell.

Add the essential oils for scent. If you use essential oils, Olive and Lizzy recommend you use glass pots. Essential oils can turn the plastic pots icky.

Add the mica powder. The more you add the deeper the color will become. This is the fun part as there are zillions (okay not zillions) but lots of colors to choose from, including iridescent gold and copper.

Let it cool for about 10 minutes, and then enjoy the natural, nourishing sheen on your lips.

If you have a favorite lipstick, this is a great way to stretch it or revive it if it’s been discontinued. (Don’t you hate when they do that?) Add a dab to the mixture as it’s melting. Bingo!

P.S. These lip glosses make wonderful gifts. Enjoy!
