She comes back after another twenty minutes. I’m annoyed it took so long, but at least my girl is back.

“So are you ready to bust out of this joint?” She arches her brow and tips her head toward the exit.

“As soon as your test results come up good.” I tap my finger on her nose. She narrows her beautiful eyes at me and then walks away to her pile of clothes. Suddenly she’s putting her panties and shorts on.

“Isn’t that a bit premature?” I growl, turning around so she can’t see my cock throbbing. Quickly I adjust it, feeling the wet spot where my cum leaked through my clothes.

“Nope.” A minute later she says, “You can turn around.”

“You’re so beautiful, Violet.” I close the distance between us, aching to show her what she’s done to me and doesn’t even know it. I closed myself off from finding passion because I believed money and work would be my only desires. Reaching out, I run my hand along her cheek. She shivers, tilting her head into my palm.

“Micah,” she whispers. A growl rips through my chest, hearing my name coming from her soft, pale-pink lips. I lean in to kiss her, but the curtain pulls open, stealing our moment as Violet jumps back as if we’ve been caught doing something wrong.

Nothing could be wrong about kissing her and I’ll prove it to her. I drag her into my arms, cup her head, and crush my mouth down on hers. She moans before clinging to my shirt.

After a few seconds, a cough comes from behind us, pointing out that they’re still waiting. We only break apart because I want her out of here and in my bed as soon as possible.

“So far all the tests have come back clean. I’m waiting for the rest of them then you’ll be able to be on your way unless there’s something amiss. Remember what I said about the porn set.”

“I’ll keep my hands to myself for now,” I grunt.

We stare at each other and then my phone rings again. “Excuse me.” I put my finger up and answer for Winston. “What’s going on?”

“I’m on my way back to the hospital. Are you still there? “Yes, but we should be done shortly.”

“I’ll be waiting in the lot.” He’s always been dependable.

“Great. I need a clean shirt at the very least please.”

“I picked you up two selections.” That’s why I keep him around.

“Great. It almost makes up for you nearly killing my Violet.” He gasps on the other end. “I’m teasing. You have great reflexes for an old man.”

“Thanks.” I end the call, tucking my phone into my pocket.

“I don’t know if you could hear him, but Winston’s already outside, waiting for us.” Her eyes drop to my lips and I swallow hard. “Be a good girl. You have no idea how close I am to turning you over that bed, ripping down your shorts and eating your pussy out before slamming into you.”

“Do you say those things to all the women you nearly kill?” The smile on her lips brings my own out.

“No, smart ass. This is a first.” I want to tell her that I never spoke to a woman like that because I’ve kept my dick in my pants all these years just for her, but I hold back.

Thankfully, I do because the nurse comes in. “The rest of the tests came back clear, but you do have some bruising, so take it easy and this is for you to take twice a day for two days. After that you can use Ibuprofen. Here’s a prescription for eight-hundred milligram tablets. Make sure to have food in your stomach before you take either of these.” She hands her a prescription bottle with a handful of tablets in it.

We sign the discharge documents and then Violet changes from the gown to slip on her shirt. I turn around because I’m not a masochist, and I don’t need my dick to hurt anymore than it already does. While she’s doing that I send Winston a text telling him we’re on our way out.

“See. I told you,” Violet reminds me. “You just wasted your money.”

I take her hand and drop my lips down on hers for a quick peck. “I don’t care. As long as you’re okay, it’s worth it.”

I’m about to pick her up, but She stops me from pulling her closer. “I’m walking or I’m going to act like you’re kidnapping me.”

“Fine.” At least she’s coming with me of her own free will, instead of me really kidnapping her, which has its merits.

I’m walking out of the hospital with my future wife. She’s going to pay for not letting me treat her like the queen she is. “So since I totally ruined your day and cost you a bunch of money can I cook for you?”

“How about you make it up to me, by letting me take you to dinner?” I already knew she didn’t have a lot of money, but I’d never let her pay for a damn thing. I’m worth billions and have no one but my mother to spend them on.

“I don’t know how that’s making it up to you, but I can’t turn away a free meal.”

I pull her upper body to me and kiss her temple. “Good to know.”

Winston meets us at the front entrance and steps outside with a small AT&T bag for Violet. “Your phone. I’m sorry about—”

“Don’t. It’s not your fault. If you didn’t react as quickly, I would have been roadkill.” I take her hand and lead her back to the limo.

Winston holds the door open and Violet slides in first. “It’s been cleaned, and your shirts are inside for you.”

  “Thank you, Winston.”

“I’m afraid I gave him a heart attack earlier. He reminded me of my grandfather when I nearly broke my leg while not listening.”

“I know. Winston’s sorry that he yelled at you.” The poor man’s hands were still shaking when we arrived at the hospital. I had him checked out as well, but they cleared him pretty quickly before running around for us. At sixty, the man didn’t need a scare like that.

“He hardly yelled. It was like scolding while freaking out.”

“I know. Now that I know you’re okay, I’m tempted to take you over my knee and punish you for running into the street.” I remove the hospital robe and slip on my white tee, and then one of the dress shirts Winston brought me.

“I promise not to do it again,” she says with a pout and I stop midway of looping my button into the slit.

With a smirk, I finish buttoning my shirt. “Too bad. Maybe I’ll find another way to spank that pretty ass of yours.”

She nearly drops the phone she pulled out of the bag, but I catch it. “See, already finding a way to be over my knee,” I tease, handing it back to her.

“Damn, I think you’re looking for any reason.”

“I most assuredly am.” She slips her SIM card into the phone, keeping her head down to hide her reaction from me. My woman likes the idea of my hands on her. After getting her phone situated, I grab it and plug my number in and call it, saving my name in her phone as Husband. I close the app and then hand her the phone. She doesn’t bother to check it. Instead, she slips it into her purse.

“Do you come to Miami often, Micah?"

"This is my first time in Miami, beautiful. I'm only here for business but I planned to take a small vacation and figured this would be the perfect place. I had no idea that I'd run into my future. Literally."

“It’s a little early for dinner. How about I take you to lunch and then later we order in some dinner.”

“I’ll start with lunch.” It’s only two in the afternoon, but neither of us has eaten in hours, so I have to make sure my girl is well fed. My mother’s already going to overfeed my woman. She’s always on me about getting my fill to keep strength up.

“Okay. How’s this place?” I point to a restaurant on my phone. It’s inside my hotel.

“I’ve never been there, but the reviews look great.”

“Good. It’s settled.” I press the intercom and tell Winston to drive to the hotel.

“Wait, why are we going to your hotel?”

  “The restaurant is inside there.”

  “Oh okay.”

“I’d never do anything to hurt you, Violet.” She gives me a look and I correct myself. “Well I technicall
y didn’t hit you with the limo even if I feel guilty about it.”

“I’m only teasing, Micah. You’ve been wonderful today despite me ruining your day.”

“I can tell you that you’re the brightest part of my day.” Slowly I lean in to kiss her when the intercom goes off.

  “We are here, sir.”

Grunting, “We are ready.” I grab my suit jacket and slide it on. “Come on, Violet. Let me feed you.” Winston opens the door and I step out then assist my woman. We head into the hotel and directly to the restaurant.

After giving my name and room number, I’m comfortably seated in the crowded restaurant. We sit down and the hostess says, “Your server will be out momentarily to take your order.”

The server came up to us to take our order. "Hello, I am Veronica and I’ll be your server this afternoon. Can I get you something to drink?"

  "Yes, I'll have a water."

"And I'll have a vodka on the rocks." We open the menus and despite not eating all damn day, I don't have an appetite. All I can think about is how good her lips will taste. Still, I decide on the steak and potatoes. I set down and wait for her to select hers.

The waitress returns with our drinks as my woman sets her menu down with a smile that stiffens my cock. She surprised me from the second we met. We order and then the waitress leaves us alone to talk.

"Tell me about you," I say.

"There's not much to say. I'm a bartender at a Tiki stand on the beach which you’ve gathered from my clothes. My life has been in shambles for the past few months, but until today, I hadn't realized how bad it had gotten." My phone buzzes at the same time as hers does. We look at each other and she excuses herself.

I watch her ass walk out and I grunt as several guys notice her tight shorts as well.

I check my phone and it's just my lawyer asking me about the accident, hoping that I'm not going to be sued. My guy has already pulled all her private information, so that makes my lawyer a little nervous. She could sue me all she wants because she'll be my wife soon.

  Chapter Five

  Violet

“What are you doing calling, Matthew?” I hiss into the phone as I exit the fancy restaurant. There are too many people around, so I go outside to the street.

“Stop being a cunt, Violet,” he snaps back.

This bastard is acting like I’m the bad guy? I can’t even deal with his bullshit. It’s always that way with him and it pisses me off. I missed the brother who loved me, but he’s never been the same since my parents died. It’s like a switch flipped. Now that I’ve met Micah, I feel a little more powerful, confident even. I snap back, “You stole my money and I’m the cunt? At least I’m not a thief. I want my wallet back.”

“Well come get it. I lost the keys to the apartment and I’m getting out of town. If I leave it here the crackheads will get it.”

“Fine. I’m on my way.” I look back at the hotel and decide that I’ll send him a message when I get to my apartment and get rid of my brother. I need to apologize for leaving.

Hailing down a cab, I jump in and give him the address which is less than a mile from the hotel so I should be there in three minutes or so.

I look at my awesome new phone and sigh. Micah’s a good man or is he just after my pussy. Not that I hadn’t planned on giving him my virginity, but does he really want more or is he looking for a vacation fling?

I don’t have time to ponder his motivations because I’m at the apartment. I drop the ten dollars that were in these shorts into the driver’s hand and step out. My brother stands there with a scornful gaze. “What’s the look for?”

“So you still had more money and you’re complaining?”

The shocked look on my face must be fucking amusing because I can’t even imagine how this clown has the nerve to blame me. “You should have checked my clean clothes, but I’m lucky or I would have had to walk. Why didn’t you go to my job to find me?”

“I did. You weren’t there. Where were you, little sister? Did you earn that ten dollars giving some guy a BJ or something?”

“You’re an asshole. I told you how I got it. It was in a pair of my clean shorts. I was hit by a car and just got out of the hospital.” I reach in my purse to show him the document, but it’s my rookie mistake because he sees the pill bottle. He snatches my purse.

“Give it back, you fucking piece of shit,” I holler. Something in him changes, taking the pills and pocketing them he tosses my purse at me. His face goes blank as if he’s not there anymore, completely devoid of emotion.

“You’re dead to me, Violet. I don’t have a sister. You’re just another dumb slut who doesn’t even deserve to breathe.”

“What is wrong with you?” Who is this man in front of me? I thought he was a jerk before, but this is nuts.

“Wrong with me? You’re the one who doesn’t have a heart. You’re pure evil.” He steps closer to me, staring at me with murder in his dark, soulless looking eyes.

I’m petrified of the man in front of me. I dig through my purse, trying to find my keys, but it takes too long and he’s on me, his hands are like iron grips around my biceps. He starts to drag me toward the building, but I’m not going anywhere he is. I step on his foot, knowing that it’s a painful injury from the accident with my parents. It sends him back, letting me go for just a moment. I’m shocked and stuck in my spot. Before I can react his fist comes flying toward me, cracking me in my face. I crumble but get out my phone.

I’m about to call the cops, but I don’t get the next blow I’m expecting. I look, thinking he’s fled with remorse, but instead, it’s Micah. The man in front of me, looks wild with anger as he pounds into my brother. Tears pour down my face, feeling relief and heartache at the same time.

  Chapter Six

  Micah

She takes too long for me, so I step outside and look around. She’s nowhere to be found. What the fuck? “Where is she?” I snarl into my phone. I set the tracking on her phone, sharing her location with me. I never told her what I made my billions in. Big tech pays fucking well when you’re a natural at building codes, hacking into security and getting everything you need to succeed.

I step back inside and toss a hundred on the table and walk out. By the time I’m outside, Winston is waiting for me. We follow her signal a mile away to just outside the place of the accident.

A man is standing there by a door to an apartment building. Whoever he is, I need to remove him from her life. The second he puts his hands on her, I’m out of the limo, pinning him to the fucking wall and slamming my fist in his face. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” I clocked him in the jaw. “Don’t ever touch my woman.”

I drop the fucker and then turn to my woman and ask, “Sweetheart, are you okay?”

Tears stream down her face. Seeing her fear and pain, sends me over the edge. “You’re a dead man,” I warn the bastard, kicking him in the ribs, hearing them crack. I scoop up my woman and bring her into the car.

“Violet, talk to me. Tell me you’re okay?”

“I’m not worth the trouble, Micah.”

“You’re worth so much more than you know.” As Winston closes the door, I direct him to take us back to the hotel.

“Who was that? An ex?” If he’s an ex, I might rip his heart out and burn the son of a bitch. She isn’t going back to him. She’s mine now.

“No. My brother.” What a piece of shit. I’d never lay a hand on a woman even when they’re nuts like my former assistant.

“There’s more you’re not telling me, but we’ll get there.” I brush her hair behind her ear to assess the damage to her stunning face.

“Winston, nix the hotel, Violet needs the hospital.”

“Oh no, please. I don’t want to go back. They’re going to think you did this to me.”

“Look at me. If you start feeling bad, I’m taking you in, you understand?” She nods and rests her bruise free side on my chest. “To the hotel, Winston.”

  “Yes, sir.” I
reach into the mini fridge and pull out some ice, wrapping it in a towel from the mini bar inside the limo. Gently pressing it to her bruise, she whimpers, and I want his head.

My heart’s breaking for my queen. I knew firsthand that family didn’t mean love. Those who hung around were the ones who became family. My step-father became the best father I could have ever asked for. And I’m sure they’ll love Violet like I do. It’s crazy but I know immediately that this is the fabled love at first sight. “I’m so damn sorry, Violet. I won’t let anything happen to you again.” I kiss her temple and hold her close as we drive to the hotel.

Once we pull up to the entrance, I step out first then bring my girl with me. I’d love to carry her inside, but I don’t want to embarrass her any more than she is by drawing attention to her.

As soon as I open the door to my suite, I carry my woman inside. “Why are you carrying me now?”

  “Over the threshold.”

“We’re not married.” Maybe not yet, but by morning the system will be hacked, and Ms. Violet Flowers will become Mrs. Violet Ryan.

“Yet.” I kiss her lips gently and take her into the living room area.

“Please sit. Would you like a drink? Wait, never mind the medicine.”

“Oh goodness. I don’t have any medicine. That’s what the fight was over. My brother stole my purse because the ring he stole was worthless and then he found the pills from the hospital. They’re nothing special, but he took them from me anyway.”

“It’s okay. I’ll make sure you get what you need.”

“Just some over the counter painkillers, please. I don’t need to be like him.” I bend down in front of her, waiting for her gaze to meet mine.

When she does, I smile and make a promise, “I won’t let you get hooked even if you wanted the stronger meds. From the second I saw you, I felt a shift in me that I’ve waited my whole life for. There’s nothing I won’t do to keep us together and to make you happy and safe.”

“I’m tired, Micah. Is there somewhere I can lay down?”
