The Bad Boy Cycle

So far there are seven books in the Bad Boy Cycle.

The first four are the novels which are 99 cents each.

These 4 books tell the story of the Human race from 1995 to 2214, mostly told from the perspective of successive generations of the Jones Family and their friends. At each stage the technology is that of the period. The first part is in the recent past, so the technology is what we are familiar with. In the early parts of the 21st century, the technology is largely based on extension of the current technology. Later in the century, there are some basic new inventions.

This means that the cycle become science fiction although this only starts to become obvious about four fifths of the way through the first book when the effects of Global Warming become quite different from the predictions.

  A Bad Boy

A Bad Boy is a novel in 5 sections:

  1. Sam O’Reilly is a juvenile delinquent. Andy Jones is a shopkeeper with his own problems, but tries to prevent the Sam from turning into an evil man.

When Sam at 18 pleads guilty to raping a 13 year old girl, Andy believes he has failed. Eventually Andy is persuaded to investigate.

  2. Andy finds love for the second time, but the course of true love is rarely completely smooth.

  3. Andy and Sarah go on their honeymoon in Europe with the children. This section has illustrations. Andy displays several of his hidden talents and becomes a hero.

  4. Sarah's son Peter falls in love with his cousin and also becomes a hero winning the Cross of Valour.

  5. Peter joins the navy: Civilization as we know it ends.

  Ali the Peacemaker

This is the second Book of the Bad Boy Cycle. Ali, the Bangladeshi Orphan survives extreme danger and reaches a surprising place of safety. We follow his life as he becomes known as he battles disease, war and ignorance. Ali discovers several things about himself and has a very strange dream which might be a lot more than a dream.

  ExtraSolar Menace

The Third book of the Bad Boy Quadrilogy; following on from "A Bad Boy" and "Ali the Peacemaker".

Ali has to deal with an unexpected threat from interstellar space. Although Ali, Jack and Pete save most of the Human race, the Menace causes both tragedy and opportunity.

  Ali himself requires saving.

Ali meets the first Extraterrestrials, and makes the second contact with an intelligent unhuman species; after have totally failed to recognise the First Contact.

  The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence

The Fourth book of the Bad Boy Quadrilogy. The Interstellar Exploration Ship, "The Highway to Heaven" ranges widely through the universe in its search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence.

The multispecies crew discover many planets with life including one with more evolved life than the Earth. The landing party on the Planet B2 has its shuttle destroyed and are threatened by the native animals.

In 2208 they are contacted by a totally unexpected being.

After that is a non fiction book containing both science and speculation:

The Science of the Bad Boy Quadrilogy

This free book discusses some of the more controversial aspects of the scientific basis of the Bad Boy Cycle.

  This includes questions of:

Are heading towards a much warmer world or another ice age?

Can Humans can hybridize with Apes?

Is Faster than Light Travel possible?

  Could Parallel Universes exist?

  Are Comets made of Antimatter?

Would self replicating Nanomachines be safe?

Did Unknown Civilizations exist before the most recent glacial period? And other several other questions.

Then there are the three Novellas if the War Trilogy.
