Just as my foot stepped on the cool tile of bathroom his arm snaked around my waist lifting me off the floor. We were both laughing. He pressed me against the wall and ran his mouth down my neck. “You’re gonna pay for making me chase after you sweetheart,” he said with a grin on his face.
Walking me over to the sink he placed my hands on each corner then ran his hands around my waist. His touch ever so slightly and teasing me to a point of craziness. His fingers slid through the waist band of my yoga pants and pulled them down my hips and legs.
His fingers lightly grazed down the backs of my thighs and then back up, over my ass and up my back. Goose bumps broke out along my body and a shiver went through me. I closed my eyes and my fingers flexed along the counter as he dragged his fingers back down my back, over my ass and teasing along my wet sex.
A moan escaped my throat as he parted my lips and slipped two fingers into me. Sliding his fingers in and out Tobias brings me higher and higher. My legs started to shake and I could swear my arms were going to give out on holding me up. I was flying high through my orgasm when I felt Tobias slide into me.

“It’s been almost a year that we’ve actually been together, why do you think he hasn’t asked me to marry him?” I whined to Sarah as we sat on the couch.
It’s been two weeks since Tobias and I went to dinner, the way he acted all nervous that night I was sure he was going to do it, but he never did. And all the nights out since then he hasn’t asked. It’s now one in the morning and Sarah and I are sitting on the couch eating cheeseburgers and fries from Wendy’s. She has this cute little baby bump going on and she is always hungry. So here we sit with our food, after we sent Jimmy and Liam out to buy it before they left for the night.
“I couldn’t tell you what his issue is. I would have thought he would have done it a couple of weeks ago. But hell I’m all sorts of fucking off with my intuition now a days. I swear to god these babies are sucking my brain right out of my head,” Sarah said as she shoved a handful of fries in her mouth.
“You and Decker were barely together six months when he asked you. I’ve been with Tobias for what ten months. We’ve known each other and started this flirting game a year ago. Ugggg.”
“Don’t compare yourself to Decker and me. The past year was a shit storm that just sped everything up. Had it not been for Kevin,” I grunted at his name and she patted my hand, “I don’t think he would have asked me so soon. But who knows. Tobias is head over heels for you. He’ll get there sooner or later.”
“Guess I’ll have to wait another six weeks to find out, huh?” I grunted as I rolled my eyes.
The guys were set to leave for spring training in a few hours and my chance of a proposal went out the door till they got back.
“You know he loves you and wants to be with you. Just relax. Even if he never asks you, you’ll spend the rest of your lives loving each other.”
The front door opened and closed and suddenly we heard, “You fucking bitches order fast food and don’t fucking ask me if I want any? I’m fucking dying with all Tyler’s healthy eating shit.”
Chrissy appears in the living room, hands on hips and a fake pout on her lips. Sarah tosses a bag at her and says “Shut the fuck up. Eat. Stop complaining.”
“Even fucking Tyler asked Chrissy to marry him,” I said nodding at the giant rock on her finger.
Chrissy started laughing, “He may have asked, but if my ex has anything to say, it won’t be happening anytime soon. That man is doing everything possible to drag out this divorce. Hell, I’m sure Tobias will ask you and you’ll get married before me.”
“I need tequila,” I mumbled as I got up from the couch and headed toward the bar.
Fucking Tobias drove me insane for weeks with that teasing game he had and now was driving me insane with not asking me to marry him.
“You’re so lucky, I miss Tequila,” Sarah said as I brought back a bottle and two glasses for Chrissy and I. “I think I’m gonna make a rule no drinking in the house or around me till the babies are born.”
I grunted at her as I swallowed down my first shot, “You fucking do that and I’m moving out.”
She threw a wadded up napkin at me and made a pouty face. I couldn’t help but laugh. No matter how mad I got, Sarah found a way to make me laugh.
I have to find a way to get passed this. I know Tobias loves me. Isn’t that enough? It should be. Just being with Tobias, moving in with him and having his support is beyond any dream I could have dreamed. Having Sarah, Decker, Chrissy, Chelsea, all of them, is like having the family I never had and always wanted. I could be happy with that. Right?
~~~
I hold onto his hand as tight as I possibly could. If I don’t let go then he can’t leave me. Right? I don’t want him to leave. I want him by my side always. With him I could face anything. With him everything seems right.
I can feel his breath on my neck as he buried his face there. “You’ll be fine Maggie,” I hear him say.
Fine I won’t be fine, not at all. How did I do this last year? How did I let him walk away last year? I can feel the tears building.
“Does this ever get easier?” I asked.
I hear him chuckle against my skin. I know why he’s laughing. He’s never had this before. He’s never had to leave a girl for six weeks. He’s in the same spot I am.
“Only time will tell sweetheart,” he said as he planted a kiss on my neck.
“Does it have to be six weeks? Can’t you come back next week?” I was whining again. Jesus fucking Christ, I never whined this much in my life, what the hell happened to me.
He slipped his hand out of mine and tangled them into my hair. He brought my face up to meet his. I caught sight of the fire burning in his bright blue eyes tears started pouring out of mine.
“Maggie, it’s just six weeks. You’ve got the girls, Jimmy and Liam. Please relax. I’ll be back before you know it.”
He leaned back against the car and pulled me into his body, enclosing his arms around me, the heat from his body soothing my frazzled nerves. I wrapped by arms around his waist and sunk myself into his neck. I don’t know how long we stood this way. The world around us melted away and it was just me and him for the longest time.
It’s was Decker’s voice that pulled me out of my little cocoon of peace, he was telling Tobias it was time to go. I turned my head against Tobias’s chest to look at Decker and could see Sarah clinging to his arm. Her eyes were red from crying and I knew then this was just as hard on her.
Without letting go of me Tobias pushed off the car and we walked toward the plane. That same plane they took last year, in the same spot they left last year. I hate this airport.
“You and I will talk about this thing between us when I get back,” Tobias whispered in my ear. It was the same line as last year when he text me before he left. He didn’t allow me to respond this time he just sealed his lips over mine for a kiss and then strode up the stairs and into the plane.
“Can we skip the botanical garden this year?” I hear Sarah try to joke next to me.
I had to laugh remembering our adventure last year, “Yes please. Cookies from Zabar’s?”
“Do you even have to ask twice?” She laughs as she waves at the plane as it taxi’s away from us.
“Is it any easier this year then it was last year?”
“Even harder, but I can’t tell if that’s the hormones or if it actually is. Ask me again next year. Wait no, next year I’ll be exhausted with babies who won’t sleep through the night. Ask me the year after that.”
When the plane was no longer visible we walked back to the car, where Jimmy and Liam were waiting for us.
Chapter 12
The constant sound of hammers pounding, saws grinding and other construction noise was getting on my last nerve. I’ve had a pounding headache for almost two weeks now. From seven in the morning till seven at night it’s all I hear. I know the outcome is going to be a beautiful apartme
nt, where Tobias and I will spend the rest of our lives loving each other, but I just couldn’t take it anymore.
The screeching of my cell phone ringing did nothing to help my pounding head. I really wanted to throw it against the wall to shut it up. I stuck my arm out from under the comforter, feeling my way around the nightstand looking for the thing. I finally found it and pulled it under the comforter and answered without even opening my eyes to look at the caller ID.
“What?” I grumbled into the phone.
“Sweetheart what’s wrong?” I heard his smooth voice laced with worry say.
I cringed at the sound of a saw going through what sounded like metal.
“This construction has given me a constant headache. It feels like they are always here, like they never leave.”
“Why don’t you go to my place?”
“Because that would involve moving and moving makes my head worse,” I grumbled.
“Where’s Liam?”
“He’s at the kitchen table with Jimmy,” I said as I found a shoe on the floor and threw it towards the door. When I heard someone enter the room I stuck my arm out of the comforter and held my phone up.
“Tobias…”I heard Jimmy say. “Yes…same boat…same stubbornness…” I knew he was talking about Sarah without even hearing Tobias’s side. “I agree…I’ve tried…stubborn…I know right…within the next hour…yes…yes…yes…all three…here she is.”
Jimmy slide the phone back into my hand. I heard him leave as I put the phone to my ear, “Tobias?”
“You, Sarah and Josie will be staying at my apartment until we get back. Don’t even try arguing.”
“I won’t. I miss you.”
“I miss you to sweetheart. Half way there, three more weeks and I’ll be back.
I grunted at him and he chuckled. I spent another twenty minutes talking to Tobias before I pulled the covers off of me. Every step I took to pack my bags hurt worse than anything. I was ready to crawl back in bed when Liam opened my door.
I was sitting on the floor with clothes just thrown into a suitcase. He shook his head at me and walked over to help me pack the bag. After taking the bag to the front door he came back with a glass of water and some Advil. After taking the pills I practically crawled to the living room with Liam laughing behind me.
I found Sarah sprawled on the couch looking just a shitty as I was feeling.
“So Tobias strong armed us into going to his place?” Sarah laughed as I groaned at the noise coming from the hallway.
“Honestly if I don’t have to hear another saw blade go through another piece of metal, I would go live in a card board box until the construction was done.”
“I hear you,” she tried to laugh and then grabbed her temples. “As soon as Jimmy gets back with Josie from school we’ll head over there. What’s his place like any ways? I’ve known him over a year now and not once have I’ve been there, he’s always here.”
I laughed and then groaned as my head hurt more. “I’ve asked him why he kept the place when he was always here but he just shrugged his shoulders. It’s almost like this place, not as big, but still makes you wonder why one guy needs all that space.”
Sarah laughed some more, “That’s totally what I thought about Decker and this place when I first got here. And even though I live here I still wonder what’s with the showers that are big enough for ten people. I mean really are you ever gonna shower with ten people?”
“How is it we didn’t meet until last year?” I laughed. “My first night here I thought the same thing. I still don’t get it. I mean, I love that my elbows don’t hit the walls when I shampoo my hair but really.”
Sarah and I sat there talking for another hour when Josie and Jimmy came bursting through the door laughing. Josie cam running in the room carrying a box almost too big for her, “Mommy, mommy, mommy, you got a box. What did you buy?”
Sarah was laughing as she took the box from her and peeled the tape back. “Maggie have you seen these new candles, their called Diamond Candles. Each candle has a ring in it. They’re all the rage.”
“Are you serious?” I asked as I got up and moved next to her as she took out the candles. “How many did you order?” I laughed at her as I peeked in the box and saw about fifty candles.
“Alright, alright, so I ordered a bunch of candles. But as soon as I heard about it, I was on their site and there were so many scents I loved that I couldn’t decide and bought them all,” she said as she pulled one out, smelt it and then held it up to me to smell. “Plus you can’t go wrong with candles and jewelry,” she laughed.
“Mommy are we going somewhere? Why is my suitcase packed?” Josie asked as she came back in the room with a juice box and some cookies.
“We’re going to go stay at Tobias’s apartment for a couple of weeks while the construction is going on.”
Josie looked at Sarah weird as she said “Mommy, Toby lives here with Maggie, duh.”
I had to snort, Josie duhing her mom had to be the funniest thing I had heard in days. “Sweetie, remember when you first came here Tobias lived somewhere else?” She shook her head yes at me and gave me the same weird look. “Well, Tobias still has the same home, he never sold it, so until their done building our new home we’re going to go stay at his old home.”
“Ok,” she said as she skipped off to the kitchen.
I had to laugh that child was so easy to please. To be six years old and have no care in the world makes me smile. I often think back to the day they came here over a year ago and laugh because Josie was never shy or scared. She’s blossomed even more since she came and has made so many new friends at school, but not once did her parents splitting up affect her. Sarah and Shawn made sure to keep their fighting to where she couldn’t hear or be involved and everyone here makes sure that little girl is loved. In fact I don’t think I’ve heard Sarah and Decker fight once.
“Have you and Decker ever had an argument?” I asked.
She laughed at me, “We fought about wedding stuff. Does that count?” I shook my head no at her. “Then we’ve never had a fight. We just agree about everything.”
“Big change from the way it used to be huh,” I smiled back at her.
She was laughing again, “Oh yeah. Shawn and I fought constantly. What you heard me yelling into the phone was nothing. When we were face to face, it’s amazing that blows were never thrown from both of us. I’m surprised Josie’s first words weren’t ‘You dumb stupid cunt’ or ‘You motherfucking dickhead.’ Shawn and I were toxic together and it’s just a shame that it took so long for me to walk away from it. But I also wonder if I had left years ago, would I be here now. Would I have found Decker at some point or would I be with someone else who loved me or didn’t love me and treated me the way Shawn did.”
She took out another candle and smelled it holding it up to me to smell. It smelled like fresh clean cotton. I couldn’t wait to see what kind of rings came out of these candles.
A few minutes later we were shuffled into the car and off towards Tobias’s apartment. I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of sleeping in Tobias’s bed. Yeah, yeah, yeah for the past year Tobias and I never spent a night apart, unless they were on the road for a game, but we were always at my apartment, I could count the amount of times we spent the night here on one hand. Being here was like that feeling you get when you first spend the night at your new boyfriends house. It just made my heart flutter and I wanted to giggle.
I hope someday I will be as happy as Sarah is. I hope Tobias and I can have the relationship that Decker and her have.
~~~
It was just after one am when I crawled into bed, Sarah and I had just finished a midnight chow down on some fast food and I was full and exhausted. I heard my phone buzz against the nightstand. I grabbed it up and swiped it on knowing who was on the other line without even looking at the caller ID.
“It’s about time you called me,” I giggled into the phone. I hadn’t talked to Tobias since this
morning when he insisted I go stay at his house.
“Oh sweetheart, don’t worry. You know I would have called you sooner or later,” he crooned down my ears. “Are you at my place?”
“Yeah but I don’t like it here. I can’t smell you. I can’t feel you.”
“I know, I know, but isn’t it better than having to deal with all that construction noise?”
I grunted at him. I hate when he was right. His ego never needed stroking by anyone else because he did it all by himself naturally. I heard him chuckle at me, a sound that told me he knew he won once again.
“Maggie, are you wearing any panties?”
“Of course I am, I only sleep naked when you’re around,” I giggle at him knowing what he’s getting at, but giving a little attitude back to him while shedding my undies without him even asking.
“Take them off,” he ordered. When I answered him with hmmm, he continued. “Feel my hand starting at your ankle and run up your leg. Feel my fingers skim your skin as the pass under knees. Up your thighs, over you hip and run under your shirt. Do you feel my fingers as they skim over your breast? Can you feel my lips and tongue on your nipples.”
My hands ran the path he was talking about. Closing my eyes I pictured Tobias looming over me, that it was his fingers touching my skin that every word that he described was what he was actually doing to me.
I moved my hand as he spoke, touching my breast, my nipples, running a hand down my stomach. My fingers skim over my clit and my hips buck. My fingers part my lips that are wet with my juice.
My fingers slid in and out of me as Tobias described himself sliding in and out. I could hear his voice straining and I knew he was getting closer himself as we both masturbated over the phone. Panting and grunting we brought ourselves closer and closer to a release that was going to explode at any moment.
I plunged my fingers in harder and deeper as Tobias said “Can you feel my cock pounding you? Feel me swelling inside you? Maggie I need you to come with me. Are you ready?”
